We can make BruHarvey / TwoBats real and they couldn't do anything about it. I'm making the "Tonight, Harvey Dent fucks men" real
So if I understand this correctly, if I manage to make it to 2038, I would be allowed to write and sell a legal Two-Face book, but it could only incorporate strict elements from his very first appearance plus just Batman stuff from before then? Because if so, thatβd be perfect. Aside from his original name being Harvey Kent, almost everything I love about the character was baked right into his first appearance, including potential that subsequent writers neglected to embrace.
he used his last coin for this payphone.

what if twoface walked onto the stage for the presidential debate and debated with themselves for two hours and twenty two minutes and then left
Hm. Your interpretation of this character displeases me. Guards! Take them away! Make them read the source material once more, and if that fails, the stocks.
If this isn't how he's gonna be like (assuming that his character writing is gonna be horrible) in the caped crusader I'm making my own Batman series that they deserve
With the new announcements about the animated Batman series that's going to be coming out in August, a lot of Two-Face fans are rightfully worried about the direction this new iteration of him will go. Most of us think that he's likely just going to go back in the direction of him being a corrupt jerkass politician and fascist that's been a popular way to read him lately. But here's what I'm hoping for...
Harvey: The world is a horrible, dark, and corrupt place. The only way to make it in this world is to be just as evil and corrupt as the world around us. It's sink or swim. Eat or be eaten. And if people get hurt along the way, well, that's just the price of success.
Two-Face: Oh hush up, you. Hey there! So I'm Two-Face. Don't mind Harvey, he's just in a bad mood because I didn't let him shoot a toddler.
Harvey: The world's a cruel place and he didn't have what it takes to survive!
Two-Face: Shut up, Harvey! You're making us look bad! Remember how our therapist told you that you need to listen to me and my perspective more!?
Harvey: ...
Two-Face: That's right! Good! Sorry about that. I'm trying my best to help Harvey out with the whole... "Caring about people" thing. But that's alright! I'm just very happy to meet you and want to help you in any way that we can! I know that we're not the easiest on the eyes but I want to do whatever I can to the benefit of the city and the community around us!
Harvey: Ugh. You're so pathetic... We should just let the city burn.
Two-Face: And let people suffer and die!? No! That would be just... So sad... π’π
Harvey: Ack! Why do your stupid... Squishy... Soft feelings actually physically hurt!!!???
Two-Face: It's called empathy, Harvey! And you're breaking my heart right now! π
this ken is former D.A of Gotham
art i did for my twoface zine :)
dice voice bosses ithink i hate you both equally
He and Bruce aren't childhood friends because Bruce was homeschooled.
I hc that he and Bruce met after the flood incident because Gotham is in need of a new DA. (I swear, my ears perked up when I heard that Gil Colson was a DA on my rewatch of the movie. Immediately I was like, "they better mention Harvey Dent because this is the perfect way to introduce him".)
Mayor ReΓ‘l introduces them to each other at a party / fundraiser.
Harvey and Bruce are awkward for a while but after they talk more about how they want to change Gotham, they develop a bond with each other.
Harvey knows he has DID because of his Father's abuse and communicates with Harv.
They have a schedule about who uses the body on what day.
The reason why Harv is so aggressive is because he wants to protect themselves from danger. And how can you be in danger when you are the danger.
Harvey wants to enact justice the right and legal way because he knows it'll be worth it. Meanwhile Harv wants it to be done fast because "Justice doesn't spare time for the guilty."
Harvey and Harv admire what Batman does but both agree that wearing a leather bat costume beating up criminals at night seems a bit too tacky. (He wears half and half suits but they're a part of his theme, he says.)
He and Gilda married early, a few years after they graduated college.
He and Gilda eventually got divorced because they realized they're too different for each other.
Now they're on friendly terms and have coffee meetings from time to time.
Harvey has a crush on Bruce while Harv wants to marry him on the spot because who wouldn't want to marry a man who shares the same dreams of changing the world as you.
After the acid incident, his DID gets revealed to the public and the media portrays him as a "Two faced lawyer".
They call themselves Two Face because "If it's two face they want, it's Two Face they get."
Two Face gets portrayed as a crime boss, which he is but he doesn't harm civilians. Only those who are corrupt, thieves, abusers. Those kinds of people.
He may be a criminal, but that doesn't mean his goal is completely changed. He still wants to change Gotham for the better, It's just done differently now.
do you have a bruharvey comic reading list ?
Lmfao I personally feel like every Harvey-centric comic is somewhat a BruHarvey comic if you squint π€£π€£π€£π€£
This list is in no way exhaustive and I'm pretty sure I've missed out some very important stuff but nevertheless, this is what I could think off at the top of my head:
Disclaimer: I'm bad at continuity. And I won't call some of these excellent writing but they did give me all the delicious bruharv moments.
Batman - A Lonely Place of Dying - Some nice parallels between Batman and Two-Face were made in here when they're busy trying to outwit each other. This is mainly focused on Bruce's angst post-Jason's death and it is rather delicious for the angst-lover. And also origin story for Robin Tim.
Batman: Year One - That infamous scene where Batman hid under Harvey's desk. That's it. That's big reason enough for you to read it. (Harvey is also exceptionally hansum in here. Will always be one of my fav Harveys).
Two-Face: Year One - Chummy college days, Bruce hanging out at Harvey's office late and night and also the one where 2F didn't listen to the coin and spared Bruce's life :^)
Batman: Eye of the BeholderΒ - The one where Jim introduced Harvey to Batman and then they started hanging out together and left Jim out. JK JK JK LOL but it sure felt like that π€£ In all honesty though, this is one of--if not--the best Harvey story out there so please read it anyway!!!!
Batman: Face The Face - This takes place sometime after Batman: Hush (where if you recall, Harvey betrayed Tommy to save Bruce's ass uwu). Harvey is somewhat "cured" now that his face is fixed. He go about protecting Gotham in Bruce's absence. And oh, Harvey recalling the 30 days whirlwind of a romance with Bruce where they trained together and also went for dinner dates and movies (I KID YOU NOT)---and obviously got 2F very upset LOL.
All-Star Batman: My Own Worst Enemy - The one where Bruce and Harvey went on a cross-country trip while being handcuffed together. Also a look into their childhood together at that very weird school lol
Batman and Robin #24 - #28 (The Big Burn) - This is 2F's origin story for current continuity. The one where Harvey called Bruce a Prince (while looking at his own reflection on a knight armour) and Bruce called Harvey "dummy" affectionately. Also here we learn that Harvey had known that Bruce is Batman since forever and has been protecting that secret from 2F.
Detective Comics #989 - #993 (Deface The Face) - My beloved Gotham Justice Triumvirate reuniting and working together!!!! The ending to this arc truly fulfilled my love for that chasing game between a hero and a villain tbh uwu
Detective Comics #1020 - #1024 (Ugly Heart & Prelude to Joker War) - It started out weird enough with 2F having a cult of some sort and having real weird erotic ritual involving the coin (lbr you know I'd join this cult in a heartbeat LOL). Again, this arc emphasized on Harvey's struggles to protect Bruce and his identity from 2F. And Harvey teaming up with Bruce to beat Joker's talons!!!!! It ended with 2F being suppressed and a somewhat "reformed" Harvey in Blackgate being visited by Matches. I like this arc for a lot of shippy reasons lmfao ("Promises, promises" hehe)
Detective Comics #1062 - present - The current craze. An excellently written Harvey by Ram V and Simon Spurrier. I look forward to where this is heading! (As of now, seems like Harvey has stopped making an appearance but I sure hope he'll come back again!!!)
The Doom That Came to Gotham - This is a depressing Elseworlds story with Lovecraft elements but the BruHarvey in here is absolutely golden and even more so in the movie version.
Batman 1989 Newspaper Comics - I have yet to go through this tbh but there are a lot of good bruharv moments in here and thIS ONE RIGHT HERE I s2G GETS ME ALL THE TIME
THAT IS ALL!!! Thanks for asking me this because now I have a proper record to refer to since I'm so bad with arc names and issues etc π€£
Harvey Dent & Two Face Headcanons!
They use He/They Pronouns.
Wears an eye patch on the scarred side because the eye gets dry easily.
Uses eye drops and is partially blind.
Wears glasses when he's not doing crime.
Harvey and Two Face (Harv) communicate through sticky notes sometimes. When they're in a rush, they write things on their palms.
Has a massive coin collection.
Has heard rumors about a giant penny in Batman's base but thinks it's too silly to be true because why would the Batman have a giant penny in his cave.
Picks up random coins on the streets.
Brushes teeth twice a day.
Harvey has a skin care routine and is careful with the scarred side because they're afraid it will hurt or cause infection to their left side.
Harv seems to have messy habits but he knows where everything is.
They and Gilda split up and are on friendly terms. They're still legally married.
They got divorced after the accident because they didn't want to bring Gilda into the mess.
Harvey has a crush on Bruce and has an appreciation for what Batman does for the city. He doesn't date Bruce because he's scared of ruining their friendship.
Two Face wants to kiss Bruce sloppy style because who wouldn't. Two Face thinks Batman is infuriating at times, but he understands why he does what he does. Still doesn't make it any less annoying though.
They have their suspicions that Bruce is Batman because why else would he try to save them.
And if I make Two-Face/Harvey Dent short and the only reason they call him "Big Bad Harv" is because he makes them cower in fear or he brings them down to their knees and beg for mercy, then what.
Hear me out.
What if there's a movie (maybe in The Batman 2022 setting) called Batman: Judgement Day and it's about Harvey Dent becoming Two Face and Batman having to stop him
OR
Two Face and the Riddler teaming up to bring "justice" to Gotham. They don't agree on each others meanings of justice it gets the job done.
Basically Batman Forever except it's a bit more about what true justice is and who gets to decide that.
The movie title just sounds cool and the idea popped into my head after remembering the Riddler said something about the "day of judgement" in the movie. (I know the day of judgment has happened because of the flood but just imagine).
Me, knowing nothing in depth about Two-Face but drawing him anyway: I just think he's neat :)
