While high-functioning may appear more “normal” to neurotypical people, in my experience, it takes a lot of hard work to appear that way. Hence the term “masking.” You’re essentially wearing a mask to appear more neurotypical to the people around you, but there’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes to help keep the facade up, and it is super tiring for the people doing it. I may be able to keep a bubbly and open presence at a party, but I know for dang sure I’m going to lock myself in a quiet room when I return home so I can decompress and process.

we’d been dating for three days (i wanted to wait longer before kissing but oops), it was a sunday, and i was at his house for the day. we were in his bedroom with the door closed and the lights off and were watching some movies tho i was more distracted by the snuggling and how pretty he was. throughout the hours anytime i looked at him i swear he seemed like he wanted to kiss me, and at some points we were close to doing so but i got flustered and looked back at the tv. well eventually i was snuggled up against his chest and then he tilted my head up a little and kissed me. it was soft, but short as his mom came in to say something about lunch being ready (of course when she came in i blushed and moved away from him). then when she left he kissed me again and it was longer and perhaps even sweeter
also! the second guy i ever kissed, we went to a park near the baseball field (the whole team saw us walk over there though we went into the caged basketball court and our friends on the team teased us relentlessly afterwards), and for like an hour we just talked and whatnot. at some point we sat down on the court and were leaning against the fence. i was a little bored and wanted to fidget so i did two things: move a zipper on his backpack back and forth, and poke him (i made sure he was okay with it, dw). he didn’t have any reactions to it until he randomly said “if you do that again i’ll have to kiss you.” so i dared to poke him again, a few times just to be sure. and then he leaned forward and tilted his head a bit, as did i, and so we kissed
Not to out my self here but i am 19 and never been kissed this is fine but I am writing a book. There is aspects of romance in the book and I am asking any and everyone to give me your first kiss stories. Awkward beautiful idc give me anything and everything. Or don’t thanks!

howdy! i'm liz (they/she), a queer, neurodivergent person who lives smack dab in the middle of the bible belt.
my immediate family is maga, queerphobic, and evangelical christian to an extremely uncompromising degree. i have tried over and over to get them to understand how terrified i am for my rights and safety, to get them to use my preferred nickname and pronouns. after watching the state of the union with them the other night, i'm convinced they'll never change.
my mom has outed me to her siblings without my permission. my sister has outed me to one of her best friends. my dad is a pastor, and i don't know if he's outed me to anyone or not. my extended family on all sides are 98% conservative, and i don't have any irl friends, so i'm stuck at my parents' house with nowhere else to go.
due to the pandemic and social anxiety, i have neither a driver's license (though i have a permit) nor a job. i hope to get a job very soon; still, my transportation is extremely limited and will likely continue to be for a while.
i'm not in danger of being physically hurt or kicked out. but long story short, i NEED to move out asap and get to an safer place. i struggle often with thoughts of ending my own life and harming myself. i don't have a therapist and my mom is only willing to sign me to a christian one. i have literally nowhere else to turn but online. if you can donate anything to my ko-fi, please, i need help. i also have selfship art comms open if you want one.
for full transparency: right now, the majority of donations will be used as savings while i work on getting a job, while some will go to more immediate concerns such as gender affirming and self-care items (like a chest binder).
One thing i don't like in the Bridgerton fandom is that some fanfic they have Phillip Cavender as ex-boyfriend or a boyfriend to Sophie. Cavender is not and never will be a love interest for Sophie. He tried sexually assault her and its super hurtful to victims of SA to write him as just douchy boyfriend.
I know that these are not the authors intention but SA is a very delicate topic. So please any future story don't have Cavender as Sophie ex-boyfriend or anything.
