Petting animals is my favorite stim for sure! 🩷

On another note though, if animals feel the same way when they interact with us. I know dogs may just start licking or nibbling you while you pet them, and cats love making biscuits! Both are sensory type behaviors similar to the way we stroke their fur or pat their heads. So, it might not be that far out of the question!

I love when dogs and cats just let you pat the shit out of them and they enjoy it so much. Like yeah dude real quick I just need to play you like a bongo and they’re like god yes I’ve been waiting for someone to play me like a bongo

This is literally so important, yes! I’ve watched Footless Jo’s videos on YouTube, and she does such a good job explaining how her life has changed after amputation and what accommodations she has to make to improve her quality of life—and I am here for it! The way she’s being treated by both YouTube and some commenters really sucks.

Even as someone with medical based trauma who has to do calming techniques whenever dealing with medical subjects, I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to cut that stuff out of my life! Throughout your time on this earth, you will experience some sort of medical issue or know someone experiencing a serious medical issue. It’s our responsibility to learn to self regulate, and approach these situations with a compassionate and level head. Both for ourselves and our care, and for the people around us.

People with disabilities, scars, amputations, and other visual differences will exist! People need to learn that someone’s existence is not a trigger warning.

I think that there’s not enough talk about triggers that shouldn’t be warned for. There’s a bit of talk about not warning for body differences as “body horror” (that should be reserved for fictional depictions), but not about other triggers, and I think this is actually hampering intersectionality.

The main one I’m going to get into is being triggered by masculinity. This is a you problem. You can avoid men somewhat, but men (and people you think are men) will exist around you. Yes, this includes in public bathrooms. You need to learn how to deal with that (in ways that do not involve the police), and if you are so afraid of peeing in proximity to someone you perceive as a man you need to use exclusively single stall bathrooms. Public places are not your safe space.

Freaking love my little Dachsbun baby. Her name is Alice, and she soloed the seven-star Charizard, as well as helping me take down the new seven-star Cinderace raid. She’s such a tanky gal!

She’s named after the Disney live-action Alice in Wonerland version of Alice, because at the end of the movie Alice slays a dragon. I felt that it was fitting. :)

For real. Please, let’s slack off the celebrity voice casts and start giving roles to talented voice actors with range. I don’t want to keep hearing the same people over and over. I want variety!!

(This is not said to demean celebrities who have actively worked at becoming better voice actors, this is about casting directors giving roles originally belonging to voice actors over to celebrities for star power—instead of investing in the quality of the production in other areas.)

For REAL.

While high-functioning may appear more “normal” to neurotypical people, in my experience, it takes a lot of hard work to appear that way. Hence the term “masking.” You’re essentially wearing a mask to appear more neurotypical to the people around you, but there’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes to help keep the facade up, and it is super tiring for the people doing it. I may be able to keep a bubbly and open presence at a party, but I know for dang sure I’m going to lock myself in a quiet room when I return home so I can decompress and process.
