Battery percentage ask for Elvira:
95%. If your character was a smell? What would your character smell like?
(ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ this is kinda a weird question but I'm curious now-)
If Elvira was a smell she’d be a light barely there floral scent. A bit like rose in how delicate it is, I’m think the smell would from flower that grows in the Jedi temple on Coruscant.
Thank you for asking, I don’t often describe smells so this was fun.
- Tharan will sometimes take the crew out to experience ‘culture’ ie eating at fancy places or going to the museum. Felix is the most receptive to it.
- Zenith puts up with Nadia taging along, and actually is gruff uncle type to her.
- when the consular goes on diplomacy mission Zenith and Nadia are the ones actually interested in politics. Tharan and Felix pay attention but are more there for the good food.
- Felix and Qyzen share a favorite swoop team the Pit Screamers.
-For Felix it’s because the team’s daring stunts appeal to the part of him that wants to be a hero. Qyzen just likes how the Pit Screamers overcome danger and totally not because their team captain is also trandoshan.
- Tharan and Holiday like the Blatant Beks because spectacle.
- Qyzen respects Zenith, and Felix as capable warriors, and Nadia the Heralds student. Tharan is tolerated because his importance as the caretaker of the Herald’s ship and special understanding old metal things.
- Nadia has surprisingly found Qyzen to be helpful teacher about force things because of his deep spirituality.
- Holiday is the second person (first is consular) Nadia goes to when she needs somebody to talk to.
- Tharan is the one who teaches Zenith to dance as well as the other formalities that one needs to know for the social gathering that enviably await the politically involved. Zenith hates it.
- Felix and Nadia are probably the most interactive with Holiday, talking to her likes real. Zenith sees her something like tool. Qyzen doesn’t really know what make of her, he does take her for granted, the way you take the floor for granted for just existing.
- Tharan favorite people to take places besides Holiday are the consular, Nadia, and Felix.
- Felix a pretty good friendship with all the other members of the crew.
Titles: Jedi Master, Barsen’thor, Paladin of House Organa.
Home Planet: Alderaan
Age:
About: Reserved and distant Elvira often acts as an anchor in times of hardship. She has a nack for gently telling the people want they need to hear, even if they don’t want to hear it.
Driven by insatiable need to know, and an aching sense of hope she follows the force with her ship the Visionary’s Resolve. Her journey has deepened her belief and understanding of the Jedi code. Though there are times when falls short of her own ideals, this is always something she struggles against.
Backstory: Elvira’s mother worked as a high end escort for Alderaan nobles and caught feelings for client from house Alde. Elvira was the result of this union though her mother elected not to tell the father or anybody else about Elvira. As she didn’t want to risk her child being taken away from her.
The first 6 years of Elvira’s life was with her mother. Where she learned manners and how to act professionally, as well as how to look nice. Then the Jedi order found her.
Because she was taken in a letter age she was always older than peers. This causes her to take on a mantle of maturity at a young age. She has a very strong connection to the force that makes her feel too connected to everything which leads to being overwhelmed. Elvira has a distinctly distant presence as if viewing events from afar as method of coping.
Fighting Style: Infiltration Shadow/?
She’s an infiltration shadow fighting the same way she negotiates by slightly nudging things in the direction she what them to go. Combat isn’t something that she rushes into but when she is fighting Elvira will give herself every possible advantage.
Her lightsaber form of choice is Niman, because of its versatility. Which for diplomat who never knows when a negotiation will go south is a must. It also the form that mixes the force with blade work best and provides more space for creativity. This some that Elvira values and the force heavily guides in combat so this style is very much an expression of that.
Elvira’s particular brand of Niman borrows some inspiration from Makashi. Not because she is skilled with form but because she hold an option that is most elegant of all the forms. This influence makes much better at one on one combat so much of her force work mid combat is forcing the enemy to face one at a time where she strongest.
Relationships:
Love Interest: Felix Iresso
Family:
Padawans: Nadia Grell (Force Bond)
Best Friends: Qyzen Fess, Felix Iresso.
Friends: Zenith, Tharan Cedrax, Holiday.
just out of curiosity... how would Elvira respond if someone that she had locked up managed to escape and caused a lot of damage/killed a lot of people? Would that shake her belief at all that people should always be given a chance to reform, or would she stand by it? What if said person killed or hurt someone she cares about?
In the case of someone she imprisoned escaping and causing harm. Elvira would try to personally stop them or right the situation. How she does this depends on time, if the threat needs to stopped quickly and efficiently then she’s likely to end their life.
If she has more time she would try to make the best of the situation in a more tailored manor. Offering path way that is specific the escaped individual needs and the needs local populace.
It might take her while emotionally come to grinds with her role in the event, depending on what happens.
side note
At the beginning of the jedi consular story Elvira started out firmly believing in second chances. Now at the end of the class story she a bit more jaded, her ideal to preserve life and encourage growth is still the same. She just now knows that that best she can do doesn’t always meet this ideal.
Thank you for both of your questions it gave me some good stuff to chew through.
OC ask - pain for Elvira!
On Corellia there where two Jedi who were friends. One of them was possessed by the first son and was out harming people, so Elvira killed him. But the pain she felt from her fellow Jedi when she’s told him she’d just killed his friend, left it’s mark.
She had just taken the life of someone who had spent his life defending people except the one day he didn’t, because the First Son took control of him and used him in way that undermined this Jedi’s entire life.
Elvira killed the people that were in the First Son’s control because it was the most direct way to stop the destruction they were causing. But this death was what really hammered home that these were people not puppets.
It took seeing the pain of a young Jedi who’d lost his friends but was struggling reconcile how one day a person could behave so completely differently. Someone who’d not only lost the life of a person they loved but was now struggling to sort out what was his friend and what wasn’t. To really grasp that weight of understanding.
This realization also ment that all the previous children of emperor that she’d killed had been people too until they woke up as a possessed Sith. This is why she fought to save master Syo to try and prevent more harm. But free a person from the First Son possession doesn’t free them from what they did when they were possessed. She saw this with master Syo. So she’s Elvira mender of the rift, that be completely mended.
This isn’t the sharpest pain she felt but it is one that endures.
Here’s a squiggle of my Jedi Consular while I ramble.
The subject of today’s ramble has to do with the captured enemies that the consular either get handed over to the republic and or to the Jedi counsel.
Elvira does not spare these people out of a sense mercy, she spared them out a sense of justice.
She spares the life of her enemies and turns them into custody where they have all the tools they need to change their own lives if they so choose. The difficulty of reform is that it takes work. They have to put in the effort to use those tools and if they have no desire to change they’re stuck as a prisoner essentially. A prisoner of their own choices really.
To be clear these prisoners are treated well, but from Elvira grim understanding all you can do, is extend a hand and hope the other person extends theirs too. Sometime people don’t reach out their own even if she wanted it otherwise.
Finished JC’s class story with Elvira. It’s definitely made her more Jaded. Her feelings on the dark side much more defined after dealing with the First Son.
Dealing the possession that is the Empire Child was especially upsetting as she did kill all these people were totally not in their right mind. They lived for lives until being possessed, by helping others only for the First Sun hide that away to turn them into his own personal pawn. The realization that she killed people whose actions weren’t truly there is just haunting.
Yet it was the most decisive way to stop more from being hurt. She was only able to save master Syo. Who will forever be trailed by the wake of destruction he caused when he wasn’t himself.
She did literally everything she could to make the best of tragedy.
My consular Elvira is an interesting mix of being in the know, and oblivious. She knew there was something up with Felix’s feelings regarding her but didn’t once cross her mind that he liked her.
They’re in a relationship now but it’s slow going. When Felix made free time for her she invited him to her to spend time with this desire was totally innocent get know you better type stuff. Yet somehow things naturally escalated, and they hit second base. My consular is a bit wigged out over it. So wigged out, that she didn’t tell Felix she loved him afterwards. She just sorta thanked him instead.
Like she does in fact love him, but this Jedi is still reeling from all these unknown feelings and complications. Which is impressive because Felix is pretty a straightforward guy. So these problems are entirely of her own making. Elvira will admit she cares about him deeply but love? No that’s too much, too big.
I’m over here like Jedi, why are you like this?
- Nadia gets into trouble constantly for getting into everything.
-Qyzen is generally viewed by the others as a strange creature but a reliable guy.
-Courtesy of Zenith serval fights that could’ve been avoided were in fact escalated. Thanks to paranoia.
-Tharan is the number one cause of strife because of an addiction to playing the devils advocate.
-Felix is the voice of reason.
-Zenith has taken up pet sitting. Not one to just keep eye the animals, he actually does his best train said pets like they’re a K-9 unit. He’s very serious about it.
- Boardgames are competitive. Tharan was top dog but couldn’t resist sharing/bragging. So the others adopted his tactics and now Tharan has work to win.
- Zenith, Felix, and Qyzen spar and train together regularly. They also have shooting challenges.
-The guys all talk shop together about all things warfare (and tech).
-Everybody has time for Nadia. To teach her or talk to her.
- Tharan will do what he told but he does have running commentary about having to do it.
-Zenith and to lesser extent Felix are security nuts and are on everyone’s backsides to be vigilant.
-Qyzen and Felix are hunting buddies.
- Nadia and Felix can cook. So can Qyzen if like like meat. Zenith well he cooks but let’s say it tastes practical. Very practical and nutritious.
-Holiday the ship decorator no questions asked. She is also in charge of the crews schedules.
-Tharan is the most up to date on news and gossip because of Holiday.
I just accidentally started as relationship with Felix. Like I not mad about, just surprised. Like man over here chatting to Elvira and she knows somethings up, but being Jedi doesn’t have that much experience with romance. So she does not realize he’s into her. What she does sense is that he’s hiding something, so naturally she wants the truth from him, and it comes out and then boom! He kisses her.
After this I think Elvira probably went to her cabin and just sat on the end of bed just, shook. Like, oh that happened.
I genuinely didn’t think Elvira would romance anybody during this play through because of how closely she follows the Jedi code. But this happened and it could work, Felix is sweet dude and he offered her something precious that Elvira wants to honor. So yeah it’ll be interesting to see how they feel their way through this budding relationship.
He is bit tougher to figure out for me. Grit and willingness act to are what he inadvertently teaches Elvira. Zenith has Mad Eye Moody’s mindset of constant vigilance.
This trait in particular is necessary for Elvira to learn from because of her penchant for being a being distant. To play the roles of diplomat, consular, duelist, and Barsen’thor she has be alert! Through Zenith she sees what it looks like actually do it.
What Elvira desperately want to provide Zenith with is a more developed vision. She wants to show Zenith what peace is. Because Zenith literally has no conceptualization of what peace even is. She would love for Zenith to reach a point where he see a future that involves more than fighting the empire and standing up for Belmorra. Elvira does want forcibly change him being a fighter but does what him to fighter and… whatever he chooses to be like his potential interest in politics.
You know writing this out allowed me to see why I was struggling to figure out Zenith dynamics. I was trying feel out how he’d interact with other crew member domestically and I realized Zenith doesn’t know how to be domestic! Cause of his upbringing. I guess the dynamic would be being awkward as he learns how live outside of being a soldier.
This is some serious food for thought.
ya know, chapter one of the Jedi Consular story is actually really sad if you take a lightside path. You have this character who barely gets to be a knight before it’s rushing off and their Masters life is suddenly in their hands and then before they really have time to process that, it’s off to save other Jedi because they are the only one who knows how to save them. The next months are spent fighting your own people who mock, and belittle, and insult you, and your just constantly reaching out and trying and and it’s not meant honestly because they’re sick but I mean that’s going to wear on a person after a bit, especially a young Jedi who may not even be fully sure of their place in the order yet.
Elvira and Qyzen’s relationship is characterized by a deep mutual respect. The Trandoshan Scorkeeper’s way of the hunt is quite different from the Jedi code. So Elvira learns how to be open and respectful of Qyzen beliefs while still staying true to the Jedi code.
Through Qyzen, Elvira sees that the way of the Scorekeeper isn’t all that different from the Jedi. Both codes treat life with a deep respect, both teach awareness of the environment, mind, and body. These are similarities that Elvia begins to uncover, further cements her this sense of kinship.
Qyzen’s loyalty isn’t something Elvira asked for, and it definitely isn’t something that she feels like she deserves. But she has it anyways, so now there is part of her that is trying give back some of what he gave her.
It this respect that binds them together, because of they grow from each other. Elvira now has a part of her that is a hunter. She also much more prepared to deal with incredibly different cultures because of first hand experience with Trandoshan culture.
This is my first Swtor character Elvira Gwandarae. She deep yet detached diplomat whose seeks to truly understand the Jedi Code for herself. Her drive to grasp the essence of the force which flows through her and alters her life is unquenchable. It characterized her journey forward.
So far she has a ship dubbed The Visionary’s Resolve. Which only has three crew members besides herself, Qyzen, Tharan, and Holiday. I imagine they’ve got quite the dynamic going on already.
They’ve currently finished chapter one of the consulars story it has become incredibly personal for Elvira who truly respected Youn Par. She incredibly angry for the destruction that the plague caused and is determined to prevent it from harming anything more then it already has.
Here this first outfit that I’m proud of I’ve so far. It’s her stealthy/operative outfit yet still feels Jedi.
I hope to share more about Elvira and the other characters I make for Swtor. Since it’s been a delightful so far.
