Idk man but theres the initial pain of getting hit, the confusion or panic, the slow stumbling collapse to the ground.
Then your antagonist waltzes on over all smug and scoops them up like a sack of potatoes. Yeah❤️
One of my favourite rare/underused whump tropes??
Locked in a freezer.
Especially those kind of ice chests?? Like freezer boxes?? Only just big enough for someone to fit in, not much room to move at all.
Someone beaten and shoved into one of those. The bad guy either locks it or shoves something heavy on top. Our character jolts their back into the lid, realising with horror that it won’t budge. Maybe they’re manhandled in, bound and gagged, praying for their friends to find them.
Or one of those walk in freezers in stock rooms?? Our character is moving some boxes around when whatever’s propping the door open shifts and the door swings closed, locked. Or perhaps our character is fighting our bad guy, who shoves them in and locks the door, making eye contact through the little window before leaving. Or maybe our characters friend or co-worker closes the automatically locking door, without realising someones in there.
Maybe I’ll go on about it another time but I think the concept is pretty niche, I never really see it
When the unconscious/injured whumpee gets hauled up/dragged by their collar or suit.
Okay but manhandling??
Getting forced roughly to their knees ((perhaps with a gun pointed at their face))
Getting roughed up as a threat ((and their friends/caretaker finding out))
Slammed against a wall
Arms twisted painfully behind their back
A hand harshly covering their mouth
An arm wrapped around their neck, back flush against their captor
Grabbed by the hair
Grabbed around the midsection and lifted as they struggle
Grabbed by their shirt collar and pinned against a wall
Yeah,,, manhandling very good
"Shut up!" The whumper kicked the whumpee's shivering form, "stop it. Stop crying- I can't fucking think."
The whumpee lay curled up on the cold hardwood floor, trying to hold in their sobs, "s-sorry."
"Jesus," the whumper rubbed a hand over their eyes, "don't look at me like that."
The whumpee quickly averted their gaze, whimpering softly.
"Now you're acting like I'm the fucking bad guy," they walked over to the whumpee and sat down.
The whumpee drew into themselves, hugging their arms into their chest.
"Stop it," The whumper pushed on their shoulder, forcing them to lay on their back. The whumpee didn't resist, letting themself be moved. They were unable to hold in a light sob.
"Jesus you're fucking dramatic. Just chill out," the whumper threaded their fingers through the whumpee's hair, "you were being annoying ok? And it's not like I fucking stabbed you."
The whumpee nodded weakly as the whumper pet them.
"There's no reason to get all upset, ok?"
"y-yeah, sorry."
