Here's my favorite dadneto fic right now:
It's about kid!peter in x men dofp. It's ongoing, and updates pretty consistently from what I've seen.
It also has literally everything I love in x men fics, like:
- Protective logan
- Dadneto
- Peter is the main character
- Cherik
- And everybody is in character
(This isn't my fic btw, that honor belongs to setmeonfireplease)
I suddenly wanted to draw horseman! Peter - something for a story where Apocalypse manipulates a depressed Peter, forcing Erik to desperately fight in order to get his son back. I'd like to see Peter being too afraid of becoming alone again, already responsible for mass destruction and further spiraling down into a darker path prompted by en sabah nur. Esp inspired by this fic by @fouralignments, was really fun to draw.

<Storyline behind the image>:
The storyline I had in mind when I drew this was this: Peter lived an isolated life until the events of Apocalypse, all alone and depressed. He did find Erik but felt betrayed that he started a new family, sad and jealous of Nina, watching the happy family from far away. At some point Peter loathes that he's born a mutant because he can't seem to fit in society or his human family, and blames Erik further. Anyways Apocalypse finds Peter and sees something different and unique in him, decides to recruit him. He gives special treatment and acts possesive and loving to Peter. Peter loves the attention and is finally happy and feels like he's worth something after years of grief. Even if Peter didn't start out as a horseman I thought he would volunteer to do the hard work because some people who grew up unloved can't handle unconditional love- they believe they have to prove that they deserve it.
So Peter feels debted and works for Apocalypse, causes destruction which makes Erik confront Peter to protect his new family. Peter gets furious that Erik came because of his new family and not for Peter, spills the beans and beats up a startled Erik. (Maybe the golden tear marks can emerge at this point)
His mother and sister terrified of him and having nothing left to lay back to, Peter spirals further down into an apathetic darker path and grows closer and closer to Apocalypse. But at some point he finally notices how much blood he covered his hands with and collapses, suddenly hollow and aimless, losing who he is and overwhelmed by what he's done (Which is why in the drawing Peter's arms are covered in blood). He's ashamed, sad, panicking and doesn't know what to do- he hides in a cloak and wanders around.
Meanwhile Erik and Apocalypse is desperate to find Peter first, fighting each other to lead Peter towards the 'right' path they respectively believe.
That's all I thought but to add one more- despite painful and hard, Peter taking agency and making his own path regardless of what his influencers want would be nice to see. Also want to see Peter healing his wounds and taking responsibility of what he's committed.

Completely random headcanons that make no sense and are completely out of character for (movie) X-Men characters :
(If it's just the character then it's probably from the old timeline, aka the first movie, X2, The Last Stand, all that jazz.)
First Class Proffesor X - Once got so drunk that he made out with his reflection, yes he used the mutant pick up line on himself, he couldn't read anyone's mind for a week because all anyone could think about was that
First Class/During Days Of Future Past Magneto - Decked the shit out of a human kid once because they talked some shit and he doesn't feel bad about it to this day
Post Days Of Future Past Iceman - He naturally gets compared to Elsa after the movie comes out, it haunts him because one of the kids convinced him to dress up as her for halloween.
X2 Rogue - Because of her mutation and what happened in the first movie, she gets really bad anxiety about not wearing gloves, she can't even stay in the same room as someone with them off
Storm - Sometimes her hair gets all static when she's thinking about things and if you touch her when she's mad you'll get a shock, the kids like to rub balloons on her hair and stick them to walls when it happens.
Wolverine - Prefers crunchy food, whenever he eats anything soft he cringes and instinctively spits it out, may or may not have spat in someone's face, scott but that was probably on purpose, once or twice or three times.
First Class Mystique - Sometimes she turns into people she doesn't like and mockingly impersonates them in the mirror, she also uses it to practice her acting but overall it's just to make them look dumb
X2 Pyro - He has a staring problem, you can't call him out on it either because he just acts like he has no fucking clue what you're talking about
First Class Beast - He tried to shave his facial hair off after his serum backfired and had to wear a cone on his head for about a week
Apocalypse Jean Grey - When she's bored she'll grab a random object and just spin it around with her mutation, sometimes people have walked in unexpectedly and got hit in the face by a book or cup
Cyclops - Bites into celery fucking raw he doesn't even wash that shit
Days Of Future Past Quicksilver - He forgets that sometimes he shouldn't use his mutation in front of others, but he's usually so fast nobody notices besides the sudden gust of wind
This shit made me laugh when I'm supposed to be studying

Peter, burrowing back under his blankets: I'm dying to hear what you're doing in my room at 8:45 on a Saturday.

Peter, curled in a fetal position: This is beyond heinous, man.
Peter, stretching: Did you not read the study?
Wanda: I don't care about the study.

Peter, deadpan: You are the very essence of evil.
au where Peter goes to the cabin with Wanda but while there, the remnants of Hydra find them and experiment on them. The experiment ends up switching their powers and it just feels so wrong.
Is it good or bad that I got the meaning when Cooper tells his brother to “Stop being a bunny and step up to the plate” after using the examples “She took bat out of your hands” and “She’s the bear and you’re the scared little bunny”?
Peter: How much do you bet I can fit these 10 marshmallows in my mouth?
Charles: You are a hazard to society.
Billy: And a coward-
Tommy: -Do twenty!
Erik: Peter nO
Narrator Voice: Peter then proceeds to tell Erik he is his son
Peter: Can I tell you a secret?
Erik: No.
Peter: Alright, here it goes:
Peter, returned from the MCU: that sucked. I need a drink.
Peter: *downs four shots of dark coffee*
Erik: Peter, nO
—— ten minutes later——
Charles: who gave Peter coffee?! Whoever it was gets to fill in those trenches!
Halloween type costume stufffff. The skelemummy one kind of reminds me of Tate Langdon... with a little sketch of Peter Maximoff on the side.
