Been working hard and, simultaneously, hardly working. But I have a question for all of you;

If it's posted all at once, it may be more confusing, but all of the info will be there. It also may take longer

If it's posted in parts, it will be easier to digest but harder to understand overall in the long run. It time will be shorter, but will come out in parts with time in between

So, I said this in a post a little while ago, but Actor manipulates the shit out of Roman, constantly planting ideas of how similar they are and talking about how everyone else is going to abandon them so he should stay vigilant. And Roman, who wants to believe the best in his friends but is self-conscious (very notably in the series), trusts fully in Actor, loving his natural creative genius and his ability to create in general. And Actor loves how much Roman feeds his ego, so of course he keeps him around.

However, Janus sees right through Actor’s bullshit. (My characterization of Janus is a bit sympathetic, so hang with me.) He doesn’t necessarily like Roman, but he’s not stupid. He knows Actor is only using Roman. And, in turn, using Thomas. He isn’t quite sure what Actor is capable of, but he is not going to let Roman or Actor push him or anyone away.

So while Actor is trying to convince Roman to be his right-hand man and leave the others behind because ‘they’re just going to leave him anyways,’ Janus is working around the clock to A) Find out Actor’s true intentions and past (spoilers: it ain't great) and B) Make sure Roman is always hanging out with the other sides. In his mind, even Remus bothering him is better than Roman hanging out with Actor.

And Roman is confused, conflicted with everything he feels between everyone, but is none the wiser.

Remus and Roman being stuck together and called ‘King’ is actually very terrifying when you consider what a ‘Rat King’ is.

Can I ask for your opinion on people comparing sanders sides to iris/Jacksepticeye’s egos when it comes to the wait time and how the stories have been handled? I’ve seen some discussion on people comparing both from that angle, and would be curious to know if you have any thoughts on that.

Btw I understand if you choose to ignore this ask since it does involve criticism stuff. Just would like to get perspective on this from someone who knows both a lot better (I am not super familiar with jse myself but I have been in the tss fandom for a while).

And yeah, I’ll talk about this a bit. As long as this is coming from a view to discuss and think reasonably and rationally and not a view of pure, burning, blind rage just cause. (Also, this is going to be long because I have a lot to say)

Personally, I have no problem with the wait from either creator. I can consume other forms of media for the time being. I enjoy their content greatly, and I dabble in artworks and fanfictions while I wait, but I’m not reliant. And it's not like these people are creating nothing. They still have other stuff for us to enjoy. Like Jack’s gaming content or Thomas’s shorts or videos with Sleep or the star signs or the planets. Hell, Thomas is working on a video for Picani right now!

Also, people don’t realize that these things take a long time. They both have to go to places, set up equipment, record multiple takes, and repeat since both of them deal with multiple characters. And then the whole thing has to be spliced together and edited to make a coherent story. And of course, Thomas is going to take longer because he’s doing more. Yes, Jack has to add glitchy effects to his editing, but Thomas is literally making music for us to consume and enjoy. Do you know how long it takes to make music? That adds more writing, more editing, background music production, and more recording on top of the stuff he already has to do.

And both come from small teams of people with a lot of things to do, so it's going to be expected when things take a while to come out.

The stories, on the other hand, I find a weird thing to compare (if they are being compared, I haven’t seen anything since I blocked the tag.) They are completely different genres after all. Thomas’s series is supposed to be more feel-good mental health help, with a hint of drama. (That, naturally, is gonna take more research.) Jack is making an analog horror. Things are going to be different. Also, Jack is just starting his series! He had to pause production because of COVID and just finished his video with Chase that he wanted to finish in 2019! We shouldn’t compare apples to oranges, but we definitely shouldn’t compare when one of the fruit isn’t even ripe yet.

Lastly, I find it weird to compare these people at all. Why? Because they’re people. It's like not going to college and then your mom going “Your brother went to college, you know.” We shouldn’t compare Thomas to Sean because Thomas isn’t Sean. People go at things at their own pace. People have their own personal struggles to deal with. And these people are people, not a content farm for you to throw your rotten tomatoes at whenever you feel.

And I’m not saying you have to like these people, I just think other factors go into both series that people don’t consider. Like personal struggles or where they live. (Not to get political, but Florida is kinda a shithole right now. Stay safe if you live in that part ❤️)

But yeah, sorry if this was long, these are my feelings on the matter.

Very funny that you say that, actually, because my brain has been so deep fried I’ve actually been working on fics of my own about a very similar concept. It's been very fun and, one day, I may post it. Who knows 🤷

Things I think about a lot in my fandoms that I can’t explain:

1. That one fangame that represented Darkiplier as a girl. (Paired with Damien and Celine creating Darkiplier, it makes my head go round)

2. I saw a post that I could’ve SWORN was a SanderSides rp post, but it was a Wilford and Dark rp post. And the only reason I thought it was the first was because of the use of “Storm Cloud” (Now I can only imagine someone calling out ‘storm cloud’ and both of them responding and being really awkward about it.)

3. “What are you gonna do? Punch me? You can’t fucking punch me.” (Blooper Remus. Iconic.)

4. Stan and Patton are, like, the same person. Just different fonts.

5. If they existed in the same universe, Chase would warn the others about Anti and everyones reactions would boil down to “THAT CAN HAPPEN??/WE CAN DO THAT??” (Mostly referring to the sides, Mark’s egos seem a little jaded. More of a ‘well, that might as well happen.’)

6. Does anyone else remember that one time that Patton said “Not all loops are bad. Fruit.”? Because I do. And I can confidently say that Dark and Anti would be furious if they heard Patton say that.

Chaos would ensue. This almost feels like a fanfiction prompt. I’m also going to interpret this as Thomas is apart of the crew and his sides are the different universes, but if this isn’t what you meant you can ask again and I’ll redo it. (Also, thanks to Markiplier lore, this is Canon adjacent!):

Patton would be in Stan’s universe. You, as the player, may never meet him, but to him you’ve known him for all your life. He’s downstairs cleaning up after dinner while stan puts you to bed with a story. Patton and Stan aren’t dating (At least not on paper) they just live together while they sort out marriage issues and this was the best solution they could come up with.

This is my first “hear me out” one, but I feel like Logan would be in camp counselor Mark’s universe. Not as someone that works there, but as someone who monitors the field trips for other students. Bro’s just doing his job.

There's only one place I feel like Roman would fit, and that's with The Sexbang crew? But like, that very specific rendition where they’re all midlevel boys from, like, Skyrim or something? That's the only place that makes sense to me. Jammin and living like royalty.

Another big ‘hear me out,’ but... Janus would be in the noir universe 100% That boy would fit in completely. A universe that's centered around those black-and-white mystery tv shows from the fifties where everything is shrouded in uncertainty? My boy would fit right in.

Virgil is in that emo-boy universe. I’ve completely forgotten what its called. It's the one where mark is crying on the bed listening to his Markiplier tribute video? It's that one. They’re friends.

I’m gonna be 100%, I have no idea where the fuck Remus would go. But hopefully, these ideas will be satisfying (or funny) enough for you: Remus is in the Heehoo universe, they are not friends and both are very territorial. Remus is the bomb in the bomb universe. Remus is in the same universe as Roman. Remus works under chef in that old man Mark universe. Most of what he makes is poisonous for human consumption, luckily most of his customers are aliens.

I know these two people already exist in the same universe, but Virgil and Janus. I just think Virgil and Janus would be petty to each other the entire time, which is also why they’d play more competitive games.

I feel like a game I could see them all playing a little are games like Don’t Starve Together, Raft, The Forest or Minecraft. Very versatile, and very fun, and it caters to a lot of different audiences. But because they are very different, some of them hop between the two of them to play with different people.

(Ex. Patton likes to play Minecraft, but will play Don’t Starve to hang out with Chase)

Speaking of Patton and Chase, I wanna see them play a game together. Any game, really. Maybe a game like Break Out or It Takes Two! (On second thought, Maybe not it takes two. May hit a bit close to home for Chase.) I just wanna see them cooperate and help each other :( (This one is a bit self-indulgent)

I feel like Logan is good at First-Person shooters. Like, Scarily good at first-person shooters. The others thought he was cheating at first until they realized he was just that good. So Yancy and Jj convince him to play Rust with them, which ends up just as well as they hoped 👍

Janus is always, at least, a little cold even on normal days because of his snake half. That's not the new part. The new part is if he gets too cold, he gets tired. And if he gets too tired, he takes a little nap until he warms up again. While Janus is in his nap-state, Thomas can’t lie. Virgil knows this. Remus kinda knows this. No one else knows this.
