Was thinking abt Tedros's talent and why he never had one in the books (thank Kate for making me wonder abt this stuff) and...it would've been really funny if Tedros has a Talent but no one knows he does because it has nothing to do with fighting or swordplay or being the future of Camelot.

Like his Talent being something like proficiency with musical instruments or singing. Talking to birds or other small creatures. Growing plants. Tedros being a disney princess would've been his peak character trait and also hilarious.

What are your thoughts about morgrifs? I think its very concerning considering the fact that half of the student body turns into animals and plants because- they failed their classes? they arent good/evil enough? The three fails- and your gone? you failed your classes and now your stuck either as a servant for the other school, or be a food or be a sidekick- THIS ARE LITERAL CHILDREN?!?!!? AND THEYRE STUCK LIKE THAT TILL THEY DIE??? WHAT?????

the mogrif system is beyond unethical and so unnecessary. it’s actually horrifying and gave me the creeps when i read the books. it’s too harsh of a punishment, like not everyone is going to get the hang of things and need practice so turning them into a plant or an animal FOREVER is so cruel and just shows that it’s a bad school. the good/evil enough thing is awful and i’m glad they addressed that in the circus of talents. no one is completely good or evil (not even agatha and sophie, i won’t accept they’re 100% good/evil). so why should they be punished for that?

i get the point was to make the books scary and give the fairytale world a dark edge but i’d accept it more if it was a punishment for something huge, not failing a regular lesson. and yeah, tracking is just terrible, the best of the best are leaders, the fortunate are sidekicks, and the unlucky ones get turned into plants or animals. LIKE YOU HAVE A REALLY HIGH CHANCE OF BEING A PLANT OR ANIMAL IT IS SCARY.

i can’t believe millicent was a deer, mona is a jellyfish, and brone is a tree like- it’s so weird the students we read about are now animals and plants?? it just feels like a terrible fate and it’s even sadder when you’re a reader who has no idea what is going on and have to adjust quickly even though everyone is incredibly biased against you :/

then u remember the lil teeny fact that arthur was coronated before he got to school for good and evil. I mean sure, he's prolly 16 at the time but- what stopped tedros? lololol

This is the most specific of nitpicks but like.... Tedros WAS king the entire time. Like all 6 books, not even just 4/5/6. the reason they say "the king is dead, long live the king" is bc the second the old king dies the heir immediately ascends to the throne. Camelot can't NOT have a King for 7 years, Tedros was absolutely King, he just wasn't coronated. honestly the more you think abt the entire Camelot thing the more it makes no sense. He should have had a lord protector or a council or smth to rule in his stead but he can't be a prince; they can call him a prince all they like but he's just not. He ceased to be a prince the second Arthur popped his clogs,,, coronations are just a formality rly

is this the scene where agatha is crawling in the vents and ends up in the gallery of good and finds out about the mogrifs? that be hella cool

what i like about this, it shows how fcked up the school system really is. Not just millicent, but the other mogrified students too.

Like how fairies are put into school for good, and wolves for school for evil. Because they didn't fit the criteria. or rather- They were "too evil" to be good, and "too good" to be evil. It puts the kids with neutral alignment in a dangerous place.

On another note, I want this to be adressed with nicola. Will she fail and become a mogrif? will something change? is the mogrifying students going to end?

mogrifs is such a terrifying concept- considering they are literal KIDS who didn't know any better. KIDS.

why i care about millicent of maidenvale so much

idk why im making this post i just feel like there hasnt been much millicent content for a while and if im gonna have a tumblr blog dedicated to her i may as well create some

so. the thing about millicent is she barely has any canon content. shes the least fleshed out of the main evergirls, and all we really know about her at first glance is that shes a ginger. thats honestly why i started obsessing over her in the first place, because im a ginger as well and ive always felt a kind of joking solidarity with ginger characters (until it kinda… stopped being a joke uh oh). but throughout the series we learn bits and pieces about her, such as:

- she is never paired with a prince and in fact never expresses interest in boys, at the wish fish pond when everyone sees a picture of the boy they like, she sees nothing, which is attributed to a “foggy mind”

- she is described as “obtuse” and ends as the lowest-ranked student in the school for good, despite reena and beatrix trying to help her raise her grade

- her defining trait seems to be how much she cares about her friends (her yearbook quote is “sisters before misters” which is probably lighthearted but i think it’s telling)

and i know that these details were probably just thrown in randomly by soman, because he barely gives his main characters consistent characterization let alone his background characters. but to me all of these random pieces paint a really interesting picture.

millicent, in these ways, is the opposite of what a student at the school for good is expected to be. sure she’s conventionally pretty and cares about her appearance and seems to be just like everyone else, but there are also a lot of ways she’s different. she has no interest in princes and doesn’t develop an interest at any point in the series. she prioritizes sisterhood and friendship in an environment that is inherently competitive. and she fails all of the school’s lessons despite apparently working really hard to pass. i personally headcanon that she failed the snow ball because she didn’t find a date.

when you start dissecting everything we know about millicent, you get the sense that it’s not that she doesn’t belong in the school for good, it’s that the school for good is not structured to accommodate for her. we know that her problem is not her being lazy, because beatrix said she worked really hard to raise her grades, it’s just that in the end she couldn’t grasp the information. we know that her problem is not her being cowardly, because she ends up sacrificing her life in battle to save her peers, which is just about as brave as you can get.

and i think that this tells a really interesting story about a character who is not supported by their school system. the school for good is shown to be a place that is not very accepting of different types of people, as shown by how agatha is treated. but i think millicent is a much more subtle example of this. she failed school not because of her character but because of factors out of her control. and i think it can be up for fanon interpretation what these factors are. could this somehow be a commentary on the way real-life schools don’t accommodate for differences, mental physical social etc, among their students? im not sure soman intended it that way but it does add another layer to what we know about the schools in the books.

either way millicent means a lot to me because even though she doesn’t stand out as much as agatha, so much of her character exists in defiance to the person she is expected to be and, presumably, the person she was raised to be (as a princess). in the end, she sacrifices herself to save her friends, and we know her friends have been the most important part of her life this whole time. she does not sacrifice her sense of sisterhood at any point in the series, and although she struggles a lot, there’s something so heartwarming about her maintaining her values the whole time.

in conclusion millicent is a perfect character 2 me and i wantd to tell you why

I was just vibing then I heard this line and remembered that scene in TLEA where child!agatha smiled at stefan.

We already had the idea that agatha grew up with no friends, or worse got bullied. But thinking about it still hurts. Just sweet little agatha going up to someone asking to be their friend- only to be rejected. It hurts man, it really hurts.

Imagine Callis tho, whats her reaction? her thoughts?

This song. (minus the divorce part) makes me think of callis and her raising agatha. Imagine callis waiting for agatha to get home, expecting a happy, energetic kid babbling on about the bug she found on the way home, instead sees a really sad agatha covered in bruises and dirt.

This is so sad- they deserve better, thEY DESERVE BETTER!!

I'm sad and disappointed that nothing actually happened about the morgrifs. Book 1 made a point- made it such a big thing, and yet its just thrown aside. I'm also very disappointed that agatha stopped? like sis- please help them.

Camelot funds is a mess and i hate it

i'm so dumb confused, please someone help me, idk anything about economics.

The whole finance thing of camelot is making me so angry, ITS SO CONFUSING. Why did it took 6 months for them to figure out whats the problem- shouldn't they had a discussion with the bank about the finances since the arrival or after the coronation? There should be a meeting with Tedros, Treasury Master, and a bank representative.

WAIT- APPARENTLY THE TREASURY MASTER IS ALL LIKE "he's not officially a king, so no." WTF? WHY IS HE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH THAT?? KIng or not, Tedros is still royalty, and waaay above you in title and have authority over you. You don't get to say no because its your jOB?? to discuss finances?? omfg.

"They taxed the poor and the middle class at double the rates Arthur did and cut the taxes of the wealthiest landowners." wtf wtf wtf wtf- wait is this because of the mistral sisters? how the hell did they managed that-

And- why does the mistrals sisters able to hide the money? and how they managed to get away with it? why didn't the bank got suspicious over it? I mean- they have the ability to do something about it.

In OTK - Vault 41. Albemarle said "Camelot Beautiful is a fraudulent account. You and your sisters have been stealing Camelot funds and stashing them here for years. And now, voila, the funds flow back to Camelot, just in time for the new king to spend it."

Its possible! All Tedros had to do was talk to albemarle- its not like he's gonna refuse. (What was tedros been doing in camelot all those time??? like seriously man-)

Lady gremlaine has albemarle's business card so that means they can get an audience with him- why didn't she told tedros? why didn't she do or say anything about it? and she helped raise funds for CB, and knows something is sus, why didn't sHE DO ANYTHING- 6 MONTHS. SIX MONTHS??????????

In conclusion, Lady gremlaine shouldn't have separated tagatha. The combined force of their braincells couldve fixed camelot.

(yes, if yall following me, u shouldve seen this comin)

Evergoode and Nevermoore, 

Ever Uniform: White blazer with purple accents and purple skirt. (yes white n purple, pink n blue is sooo last season).

Never Uniform: Black and red. (like kakegurui?? i guess??)

(honestly- i already planned so much for this- idk whats stopping me from just straight up rambling bout tis au.)

Love Letter AU- basically book 1 plot, where sophie and agatha tries to woo tedros, but this time with !!Letters!!

Witch Agatha

agatha is a powerful witch living in a cottage in the forest. Just planting and gardenin with flowers and herbs. makin potions and baking pies-

cottagecore. its cottagecore. but also witchcore.

I drew a piece before- witch agatha and prince tedros- balcony scene.

Tedros- either got lost, almost got assasinated and manage to escape, or just needed to relax- whatever the reason. 

He ended up in agatha’s cottage, and helping out in the cottage, learning how to cook, walking round to forage, drinking tea.

Biker AU / Cafe AU / College AU

OF COURSE WE NOT GON FORGET BOUT THIS-

you see, i was staring at the wall, no thoughts head empty- then all of a sudden an idea-

BIKER AGATHA- the leather jacket, big black bike, and everything- BUT WORKING IN A CAFE- THE CONTRAST-

also ofc, the college part- imagine tedros just coming to the cafe where agatha works in- just to get coffee- ended up always coming back-

Delinquent AU / Red School (but modern) AU

i drew sketches of this before, and i cannot decide on “good kids gon rouge” or “atmospheric zombie apocalypse” 

the delinquent au is pretty self explanatory,

the red school plot- makes more sense if its set in modern times, and theres no magic. (i mean, u can prevent getting infected by the red smoke if u just blow it away with air magic- come on guys-)

if its set irl with no magic- tis not like you can buy a fcken gas mask in 7/11- it’ll be way harder to fight against the infected.

anyway basically this au exist becuz tagatha wearing uniforms with blood splatter in it- while their holding a weapon- tis hot.

Agatha as wall-e and Tedros as eve.

agatha- lookin a lil steampunk robot. with goggles on her head, and her boots as roller skates.

Just a fun lil headcanon i can’t get it out of my head- its 2am time to word vomit.

because we love a character with black hair and green eyes, amirite? also cuz it be hot

soman keeps emphasizing agathas eyes being big n buggy- basically agathas defining feature. usually calls it ugly tho- but u kno- what if???

green color is usually associated with bad magic and villains, 

while i love sophie’s green eyes aesthetic, i think agatha having green eyes adds to agatha’s “witchy vibe”, why the people in gavaldon be calling her a witch, and Ever students be avoiding her.

The whole hating her eyes to learning to love n appreciate thing

applies to agatha AND tedros-

Agatha looks scary and the green eyes is just making it worse. they be calling her a witch- a freak. but then later in the books, she learned to appreciate it n stuff.

TEDROS THO- in the Welcoming (SGE school orientation)- when their eyes met, he thought her eyes looks so beautiful <33

during the i-dont-like-you-ur-weird phase, imagine tedros thinking how her eyes are just so enchanting and captivating- 

it also adds to agatha and sophies dynamic

Sophie would be jealous, in a way, cuz agatha have such pretty green eyes and sophie have just, plain dark brown (DISCLAIMER- BROWN/BLACK EYES ARE V PRETTY (i also have em) TIS JUST- IDK PLOT WISE-)

like dude- imagine when they found out theyre sisters, Vanessa would hate agatha even more cuz “How dare this child look so ugly but have such pretty eyes???”

Extremely specific character appearance headcanons

I’ve done stuff like this before but this is REALLY specific and also updated. kate compensates for her lack of artistic talent. again. 

agatha

very angular– sharp chin, long and pointy nose

long, bony limbs and hands, v tall but she slouches and has terrible posture. 

flat and pretty much completely lacks curves 

I think this is canon but very flat, inexpressive eyebrows. same for her mouth 

her eyes are a little uneven, but they’re protuberant and she has a slightly angry resting face as a result of that (and her eyebrows). her irises are so dark brown they’re nearly black.

lots of moles and birthmarks 

I always imagined her hair as shorter than a bob but I know most people don’t agree with me lmao

not an appearance thing but I always thought she’d have quite a deep voice 

bites her nails

her smile crinkles her eyes and makes her look a lot more approachable hence why everyone’s like “omg”

teeth are a bit crooked

she’s got a weird charm about her though, like she’s very striking

looks good in red, black, white and dark blue

looks ill in yellow, doesn’t like green apart from very dark shades, 

tedros

he’s very broad-shouldered and looks very solid and sturdy

yes, he has thick curly hair it’s CANON

it gets bleached in the summer and lightens a shade, usually it’s gold-blond but it leans towards white-blond if he’s out in the sun enough

obvs he’s got a chiselled face and jaw, but his nose has been broken in training before so it’s crooked. he hates it. 

a little bit acne-prone

very full mouth and big, earnest eyes and quite heavy eyebrows, but they’re a little bit arched

it makes him have a very approachable resting face, unlike agatha’s lmao

only smiles with teeth when he’s faking it (which, initially, was all the time) because he doesn’t like how his genuine closed-mouth smile looks much (it makes him look squishy n he hates it, agatha thinks it’s great)

bites the insides of his cheeks a bit bc it’s a stress thing that’s easy to hide

has lil freckles on his nose and cheeks

once he’s older he grows a beard bc he thinks it makes him look ~mature and responsible~ (it does, actually, but it doesn’t mean Agatha doesn’t make fun for a little bit first)

Sophie

her hair is very fine and light, (white blonde where tedros’s is gold) but it’s REALLY long, so she can do whatever with it (and kinda needs to, you’re doomed if you’re trying to run through the woods with waist-length or longer princess hair. put that shit in a braid)

she tries to pretend it’s naturally curly but it’s not, if you catch her early enough in the morning she’s still got curlers in 

short and curvy, it plays up the contrast between her and Agatha a lot

she’s got a really cherub-like face, round and really sweet, with like, very full lips and a little nose and stuff. no wonder everyone thought she was good. looks like a baby angel.

her eyes are a little bit catlike, kinda sly, don’t really fit w her face which makes sense lmao

has her nails super-long and painted, like talons. so she can tap them on things and sound scary and if she was ever inclined to, she’d probably poison them like that lady in Holes

dyes her eyebrows bc if she didn’t they wouldn’t be visible, and she can’t have THAT

when she was little her ears stuck out a bit and she HATED IT, she grew into it and it’s not noticeable anymore but she aims a hit at Agatha any time Agatha tries to bring it up

she’s got a chipped front tooth from when she fell over on graves hill one time, she claims it gives her character even though agatha insists it’s not even noticeable

What did you say? They’re sisters?!?!? Not in this household. I’ve disregarded the thought as soon as i read it.

OT3 is superior. i cant believe yall be sleeping on it!! Do you know how powerful the three of them would be?!!! and less putting up with sophie’s bullshit?
