Do you know what RSS means? I've seen that a lot webcomics have a RSS page but I've been never quite sure what it does.

Yeah! RSS stands for "really simple syndication" and it's a way to subscribe to webpages on your own all in one place instead of using social media accounts, it's super useful for keeping up with independent websites (which is why so many webcomics encourage using it) and social media posts on sites you don't use yourself. It seems a bit intimidating at first but it's really handy because you can completely customize your feed, and keep up with exactly the content you want without having to follow all your favorite creators across six different social medias whose algorithms hide their updates anyway. I'm a huge fan of the concept myself but I'm a fucking barbarian and still just have an enormous list of bookmarks I check manually whenever I think of it, BUT my Cool Blog Pal @unpretty talks about it fairly frequently and knows much more about how it works than I do! She has a very long and detailed post about it over here you can look into when you get a minute. https://unpretty.space/post/181035050748/hey-a-friend-of-mine-is-curious-about-rss-and-the

Fuck It, Internet Guide

Hey there! As social media becomes more and more inhospitible for the local user, I wanted to post some useful/fun links to just about anything I can think of! Enjoy! Also, if you'd like an invite to the P!rated Games discord, lmk! ^_^

If you like what I do, consider tossing some money my way? I am so freaking poor, kthnx.

I AM CURRENTLY STILL UPDATING THIS POST AND I WILL REBLOG IT WHEN I ADD TO IT! Feel free to comment things I've missed, I'm sure there's way more than this came from!

EDIT 1: Here's the link to the google doc! Link it on your webrings and sites! Share on twitter! <3 be free my little links!

EDIT 2: Adding a readmore so this post isn't so long!

Sometimes I’m looking for something online - often “how to” articles - and I want to filter for - like - a website that was clearly built in 2010 at the latest, which may or may not have been updated since then, but contains a vast wealth of information on one topic, painstakingly organized by an unknown legend in the field with decades’ worth of experience. I don’t want a listicle with a nice stolen picture in a slideshow format written by a content aggregator that God forgot. I want hand-drawn diagrams by some genius professor who doesn’t understand SEO at all, but understands making stir-fries or raising stick insects better than anyone else on this earth. I don’t know what search settings to put into Google to get this.

Treat anything on Discord as media that will be lost

Do not use Discord to host your files. Do not rely on Discord to preserve your text. DO NOT RELY ON DISCORD FOR ANY KIND OF PRESERVATION OR HOSTING!!

It CAN be lost, it WILL be lost! You must consider Discord as a part of the Core Internet, controlled by one company that hosts the servers.

I thought it was impressive at first that it replaced IRC, but now I am horrified. If the company behind Discord went under today, how many friends would you lose?

How many relationships? How much writing?

You may think this won't happen, but I remember when AIM went down and along with it, entire novels worth of interaction with my oldest friend.

IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU. IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. NO COMPANY IS INFALLIBLE.

Back up your files! Download anything you've saved to Discord NOW, before the API changes go into effect! And DO NOT RELY ON THEM FOR HOLDING IMPORTANT FILES!

beginner’s guide to the indie web

“i miss the old internet” “we’ll never have websites like the ones from the 90s and early 2000s ever again” “i’m tired of social media but there’s nowhere to go”

HOLD ON!

personal websites and indie web development still very much exist! it may be out of the way to access and may not be the default internet experience anymore, but if you want to look and read through someone’s personally crafted site, or even make your own, you can still do it! here’s how:

use NEOCITIES! neocities has a built in search and browse tools to let you discover websites, and most importantly, lets you build your own website from scratch for free! (there are other ways to host websites for free, but neocities is a really good hub for beginners!)

need help getting started with coding your website? sadgrl online has a section on her website dedicated to providing resources for newbie webmasters!

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are the core of what all websites are built on. many websites also use JS (JavaScript) to add interactive elements to their pages. w3schools is a useful directory of quick reference for pretty much every HTML/CSS/JS topic you can think of.

there is also this well written and lengthy guide on dragonfly cave that will put you step by step through the basics of HTML/CSS (what webpages are made from), if that’s your sort of thing!

stack overflow is every programmer’s hub for asking questions and getting help, so if you’re struggling with getting something to look how you want or can’t fix a bug, you may be able to get your answer here! you can even ask if no one’s asked the same question before.

websites like codepen and jsfiddle let you test HTML/CSS/JS in your browser as you tinker with small edits and bugfixing.

want to find indie websites outside the scope of neocities? use the search engine marginalia to find results you actually want that google won’t show you!

you can also use directory sites like yesterweb’s link section to find websites in all sorts of places.

if you are going to browse the indie web or make your own website, i also have some more personal tips as a webmaster myself (i am not an expert and i am just a small hobbyist, so take me with a grain of salt!)

if you are making your own site:

get expressive! truly make whatever you want! customize your corner of the internet to your heart’s content! you have left the constrains of social media where every page looks the same. you have no character limit, image limit, or design limit. want to make an entire page or even a whole website dedicated to your one niche interest that no one seems to be into but you? go for it! want to keep a public journal where you can express your thoughts without worry? do it! want to keep an art gallery that looks exactly how you want? heck yeah! you are free now! you will enjoy the indie web so much more if you actually use it for the things you can’t do on websites like twitter, instead of just using it as a carrd bio alternative or a place to dump nostalgic geocities gifs.

don’t overwhelm yourself! if you’ve never worked with HTML/CSS or JS before, it may look really intimidating. start slow, use some guides, and don’t bite off more than you can chew. even if your site doesn’t look how you want quite yet, be proud of your work! you’re learning a skill that most people don’t have or care to have, and that’s pretty cool.

keep a personal copy of your website downloaded to your computer and don’t just edit it on neocities (or your host of choice) and call it a day. if for some reason your host were to ever go down, you would lose all your hard work! and besides, by editing locally and offline, you can use editors like vscode (very robust) or notepad++ (on the simpler side), which have more features and is more intuitive than editing a site in-browser.

you can use ctrl+shift+i on most browsers to inspect the HTML/CSS and other components of the website you’re currently viewing. it’ll even notify you of errors! this is useful for bugfixing your own site if you have a problem, as well as looking at the code of sites you like and learning from it. don’t use this to steal other people’s code! it would be like art theft to just copy/paste an entire website layout. learn, don’t steal.

don’t hotlink images from other sites, unless the resource you’re taking from says it’s okay! it’s common courtesy to download images and host them on your own site instead of linking to someone else’s site to display them. by hotlinking, every time someone views your site, you’re taking up someone else’s bandwidth.

if you want to make your website easily editable in the future (or even for it to have multiple themes), you will find it useful to not use inline CSS (putting CSS in your HTML document, which holds your website’s content) and instead put it in a separate CSS file. this way, you can also use the same theme for multiple pages on your site by simply linking the CSS file to it. if this sounds overwhelming or foreign to you, don’t sweat it, but if you are interested in the difference between inline CSS and using separate stylesheets, w3schools has a useful, quick guide on the subject.

visit other people’s sites sometimes! you may gain new ideas or find links to more cool websites or resources just by browsing.

if you are browsing sites:

if the page you’re viewing has a guestbook or cbox and you enjoyed looking at the site, leave a comment! there is nothing better as a webmaster than for someone to take the time to even just say “love your site” in their guestbook.

that being said, if there’s something on a website you don’t like, simply move on to something else and don’t leave hate comments. this should be self explanatory, but it is really not the norm to start discourse in indie web spaces, and you will likely not even be responded to. it’s not worth it when you could be spending your time on stuff you love somewhere else.

take your time! indie web doesn’t prioritize fast content consumption the way social media does. you’ll get a lot more out of indie websites if you really read what’s in front of you, or take a little while to notice the details in someone’s art gallery instead of just moving on to the next thing. the person who put labor into presenting this information to you would also love to know that someone is truly looking and listening.

explore! by clicking links on a website, it’s easy to go down rabbitholes of more and more websites that you can get lost in for hours.

seeking out fansites or pages for the stuff you love is great and fulfilling, but reading someone’s site about a topic you’ve never even heard of before can be fun, too. i encourage you to branch out and really look for all the indie web has to offer.

i hope this post helps you get started with using and browsing the indie web! feel free to shoot me an ask if you have any questions or want any advice. <3

Ok but like. What the fuck is there to do on the internet anymore?

Idk when I was younger, you could just go and go and find exciting new websites full of whatever cool things you wanted to explore. An overabundance of ways to occupy your time online.

Now, it’s just… Social media. That’s it. Social media and news sites. And I’m tired of social media and I’m tired of the news.

Am I just like completely inept at finding new things or has the internet just fallen apart that much with the problems of SEO and web 3.0 turning everything into a same-site prison?

I miss the days when, no matter how slow your internet was, if you paused any video and let it buffer long enough, you could watch it uninterrupted

genuinely tho, if we're seeing the end of the social media era, getting back into RSS would be a great idea. it lets you gather all manner of different websites to visit and keep track of, but without turning the experience into a facebook/twitter type slog where Engagement is the main focus

i thought my laptop was on its last leg because it was running at six billion degrees and using 100% disk space at all times and then i turned off shadows and some other windows effects and it was immediately cured. i just did the same to my roommate's computer and its performance issues were also immediately cured. okay. i guess.

so i guess if you have creaky freezy windows 10/11 try searching "advanced system settings", go to performance settings, and uncheck "show shadows under windows" and anything else you don't want. hope that helps someone else.

People will tell you all sorts of nonsense about how to set your TV up to run off a computer instead of the tvs software. Here's what has worked for me over and over.

Disconnect your TV from the internet so it can't update/pull in ads

Get a computer with at least 4 gigabytes of ram and 32 gigabytes of disk space (thin clients are great for this), if you already have one even better!

Connect it via Ethernet if possible

Connect it to your tv, if your computer is older you may need a visual adapter, these are widely available but I recommend buying off ebay because that's the cheapest place ive found and the quality is almost always good

Install VLC

Install Firefox with ublock origin at least for ad blocking

Now you can watch off yt, twitch, whatever other sketchy sites for free content

If you want to torrent public domain media download qbittorrent

If your ISP is weird about it you can set qbittorrent to use a vpns network connection in the advanced configuration section of settings (mullvad is recommended for this but ymmv)

You can watch your public domain media with vlc now

Shopping for laptops fucking sucks ‘cause I don’t know shit about computers. I’ve never had a computer with a functional webcam or microphone or the ability to play computer games made later than 2005 or a speaker that could play anything loud enough to hear from more than a foot away. How the hell should I know what I want?!

So, Microsoft is terrible. Yes yes, the oldest claim in the world.

But specifically... I just hate how Windows 10 tries to conflate and confuse web searches with things on one's own computer. The start menu should never do anything related to web-searching, especially if it purports to try to give examples of things that are on my hard drive!

This will make old, computer-illiterate people more malware-vulnerable. You have to maintain a strong distinction between "things that are on this computer (and maybe even included in Windows)" (safe, one hopes, or you already got pwned by it, probably), and "things on the web" (scary, dangerous, not to be trusted at all).

Eroding that barrier in the UI is awful. It just FEELS like a violation every time I start typing into the start bar, and it tries to show me ANYTHING web-related. My computer is NOT just an internet-portal! It has tons of stuff on it, and when I'm interacting with the OS, I ONLY want to see things that are already on here!

If I wanted to see something online, I would go to my browser! All the online stuff should be segregated into the browser!

Specific programs can access the internet; that's fine. But my OS's functions and interface should JUST be about the things that are already on my computer.

Things that will make your computer meaningfully faster:

Replacing a HDD with an SSD

Adding RAM

Graphics cards if you're nasty

Uninstalling resource hogs like Norton or McAfee (if you're using Windows then the built-in Windows Security is perfectly fine; if you're using a mac consider bitdefender as a free antivirus or eset as a less resource intensive paid option)

Customizing what runs on startup for your computer

Things that are likely to make internet browsing specifically meaningfully faster:

Installing firefox and setting it up with ublock origin

adding the Auto Tab Discard extension to firefox to sleep unused tabs so that they aren't constantly reloading

Closing some fucking tabs bud I'm sorry I know it hurts I'm guilty of this too

Things that will make your computer faster if you are actually having a problem:

Running malwarebytes and shutting down any malicious programs it finds.

Correcting disk utilization errors

Things that will make your computer superficially faster and may slightly improve your user experience temporarily:

Clearing cache and cookies on your browser

Restarting the computer

Changing your screen resolution

Uninstalling unused browser extensions

Things that do not actually make your computer faster:

Deleting files

Registry cleaners

Defragging your drive

Passively wishing that your computer was faster instead of actually just adding more fucking RAM.

This post is brought to you by the lady with the 7-year-old laptop that she refuses to leave overnight for us to run scans on or take apart so that we can put RAM in it and who insists on coming by for 30-minute visits hoping we can make her computer faster.

blog dedicated to categorizing and saving various posts i find helpful. main blog @venomgender ;

newly rbed posts almost definitely won't be tagged, but (in theory) they'll all be tagged within the month

tag explanations below cut:

#piracy - self explanatory. has both piracy tutorials and masterposts of pirated media

#digital privacy - posts dedicated to resources on digital privacy; has things ranging from browser extensions to google product alternatives

#cooking - cooking resources. both general how-tos and actual recipes

#trans - trans resources. more dedicated to transmasc than transfem posts just because im transmasc, but has several generalized posts as well

#art resources - self explanatory. has both tutorials and things like resource packs and stuff

#writing resources - self explanatory

#learning - learning resources, typically dedicated to masterposts about learning a specific "thing" (language, sewing basics, etc)

#media rec - media recommendations

#sewing - sewing resources. has both tutorials and sewing patterns

#tech - technology resources. stuff like removing windows 10 bloatware, switching to linux, improving pc performance

#video game resources - resources centered around making video games

#coding - coding resources. from basic language how-tos to how to make your own websites

#save - any other helpful post i see that doesnt easily fit into the above categories. typically has things that help with "adulting" but i dont like that word so im not making a tag for it.

#megathread - any post containing large amounts of links for different things. contains a variety of categories. mildly depreciated in terms of how often i actually tag things this...

#tutorial - posts that teach you things. normally will also be tagged with a more specific category. also mildly depreciated...

additionally anything tagged 'kinda' means it only sort of falls into the tagged category. i tag these things to in theory go through later and see if theres enough similar items to have them been grouped into a new one

Well NOW I DO

Do you think Hunter, Wrecker, Echo and Crosshair ever think about how the first mission given to the them by the empire was to kill Saw and they didn't because they knew it was wrong and valued human life, only for Saw to not see their lives the same and be fine with Tech being his collateral damage?

It is so hard to force myself to edit something or come up with ideas for a video when I’m still crying about Crosshair and Tech. The next part of my Tbb editing needs to be the second half of season 2 and I donut know if I’m ready. Every time I rewatch Crosshair and Tech and the rest of the batch or even the other clones on screen I feel like Im torturing myself. I need to know that they are both going to be alright. This is something that I am way too serious about and I’m worried that I might not get what I want in Season 3 of TBB. I have watched clones face many trials and tragedies that have broken my heart to see over and over again. I feel for them yet they are just characters that I watch on tv. I will probably not stop crying about this until Season 3 comes out even if it doesn’t get the ending I want I’m sure it will at least ease my mind. Either way I have to accept the outcome. I haven’t given up on Tech or Crosshair, but I also need to prepare for the worst just like Master Luminara Unduli.

In all seriousness I think Crosshair and Wrecker are the most underrated duo. They balance each other perfectly. One being the giddy overly happy and exciting brother. The other being a petulant and dark brother. I could see them being the perfect balance as brothers to Omega and themselves. Wrecker was the first one to say he missed Crosshair even after getting shot by him. Crosshair even knew where to shoot Wrecker in a spot that wouldn't kill him. They have always defended one another while also bickering in the way siblings do. They have always treated each other more like family compared to the rest of the batchers. Sure Hunter takes the role as dad, but I feel like his dad moments will ways take on a more Sargent or older brother role and acts in charge. He also is someone that Omega looks up to as more of a father figure. Someone she aspires to be but is often too overprotective of Omega. Tech's love language is acts. He shows his love for his family through his actions. Not his emotions. Echo is a weird one for me. I'd like to think he takes on an older military mom/brother role, but the only thing he really cares about is Omega's studies and his clone brothers as far as I can see. Omega just loves him a lot because he isn't always around. He has other desires to save his other clone brothers throughout the galaxy and play his part as a soldier. He still cares for Omega's safety but he trusts Hunter to do that as his brother. So I feel like Wrecker and Crosshair are the best balance for Omega.

In a situation where all of @cloned-eyes shower clones are all naked in the same room together this is how I think they'd all react. Cody and Rex would be looking around to see who they should pin down and fuk first like the dominant daddies they are. Tech would get embarrassed and cover his face but is secretly blushing hard underneath. Hunter would make a move on Echo. Echo can't decide if he likes Hunter coming on to him or not, basically questioning his sexuality. And Crosshair would be making goo goo eyes at Cody, wanting to be his sub boi.

Yes, these are the random gay thoughts that I get. You're welcome.

TBB and Clone Wars on Tumblr has made me believe that all of the clones are switches. I can imagine them all as dom daddies but I also can imagine them being submissive and breedable.

Chapter 3 of my TBB short story series. Wanted to post it here as well as on wattpad. This Chapter was a bit rushed but I still enjoyed writing it. Enjoy! ~Maddy

"Well, what's wrong."

"She has a fever and a stomach ache."

"I can take us to the nearest medic for medicine but it will be a while. Tech sat down at the navi computer.

"The nearest inhabited planet will take us approximately half a rotation to arrive."

"That long?!" Hunter exclaimed.

"There is nothing in the outer rim close enough or inhabited enough to land by. It is our only option. Especially if Omega is too sick for me to turn the hyper drive on. If I did use the hyper drive the trip would only take us 3 hours."

"No. Let's go sub lite. I don't want Omega throwing up again. She already feels bad enough."

"Very well." Tech said plugging in the coordinates.

They set off for the nearest inhabited planet. Omega layed in the gunners mount under her blanket. Her head was feeling dizzy. Hunter walked back and put his hand to her head. She was very warm. He sighed.

"H-Hunter?" Omega said weakly.

"What is it?"

"Where are we going."

"Were going to find some medicine for you."

"Can I have some water?"

"Of course, kid."

Hunter grabbed a full cantine of water from storage doused a piece of cloth with some of it and rang out the remaining water. Then came back to the gunners mount and placed the damp cloth on Omega's forehead. He then handed her the cantine and watched as she took small sips from it. Her stomach growled and ached in pain.

"Are you sure you don't want to try and eat something, Omega?"

She shook her head frantically and hid herself under the blanket. Hunter sighed and nodded.

"Ok. Try and get some rest." He said then left her alone.

"Hey Hunter." Wrecker began. "How's the kid?"

"Not great. We better hurry and get that medicine." Hunter took a seat in the cockpit.

"You better double check and make sure we don't already have medicine in the med kit." Tech suggested.

"I'll check again but I'm pretty sure we don't."

"I hope she'll be alright." Wrecker said sounding worried."

"She'll be fine Wrecker. Its just a stomach ache." Hunter said standing back up. He went to the back of the ship and searched for the med kit. It was a large metal case with a red cross on it. He set it on a chair and unlocked the top. Carefully moving objects inside of it aside he realized that they really didn't have any medicine on board. He packed everything up and returned to the cockpit.

"We don't have any medicine. Stay on course Tech. We'll have to get extra to keep on the ship from now on."

"Copy that."

"You better get some rest too, Wrecker. It's going to be a while before we land."

"I'll rest when Omega is better."

"If you say so." Hunter said.

They finally landed and Omega was lucky enough to sleep almost the whole way there. Hunter went back to wake her up.

"Omega?" He said putting his hand to her head. She still had a small fever.

Omega groaned a bit and rubbed her eyes awake.

"Are we there?"

"Yeah. We made it. Time to see the Doctor. Do you want to walk?"

She shook her head no.

"Do you want me to carry you?"

She shook her head up and down. Hunter chuckled a bit under his breath and picked her up. She cuddled the lula plush as Hunter carried her off the ship. They went into a bustling but peaceful town down to where Tech seemed to have found a doctor.

"Here we are." Tech said eventually pointing to a door. The building was on a corner. They went inside. A receptionist stood from her desk to greet them.

"Greetings travelers."

"Hello. I made an appointment." Tech said.

"Yes, we received your transmission. The doctor will see you now." The receptionist guided them through another door way into a sterile room. A man was waiting for them inside. He smiled and looked very friendly.

"Welcome in. Please." He said in a soft tone motioning for Hunter to put Omega on the table in the center of the room. He carefully layed her down. Omega grumbled a bit and held her stomach in pain. Hunter put a caring hand to her head. The doctor approached her with a scanner. A blue beam shined across her face and scanned up and down Omega's body.

"Hmm." The doctor said pondering. "I've never seen a female clone before."

Hunter stared up at him shocked and hovered his hand over his holster.

"Relax. I've gotten clones here before. I don't report any of them." The doctor said. He continued studying. "How long has she had this fever?"

Hunter relaxed.

"2 rotations."

"One moment."

The doctor went to the cabinet behind himself and opened one of the doors. He fiddled around for a bit before returning with a small metal bottle. He took the cap off and filled the cap with the liquid inside of the bottle. Then held it up to Omega's mouth.

"Here, swallow this." He said.

Omega drank the liquid gagging a bit as she did but eventually swallowed it. Then gave her a glass of water.

"Here, have her take this every 6 hours with a cup of water. Make sure she drinks lots of water. She is very dehydrated which is why she is sleeping so much. She will also need a meal of some kind before her next dose." The doctor said handing the bottle to Tech. "Her fever should go down in about 8 hours. If her stomach doesn't feel better in 4 rotations please return to my office. My receptionist will check you out."

"Thankyou doc." Hunter said.

The doctor smiled back and nodded a bit. Wrecker picked up Omega from the table and they began heading back to the receptionist desk.

"C'mon kid. You'll be better in no time." Wrecker said.

Omega gave him a soft smile from his arms.

"Your visit today will be 60 credits." The receptionist said.

Hunter pulled the credits from his pocket and set them on the desk. They returned to the Maurader and Omega went back to bed.

"Get some more rest kid."

"Hunter? Wait."

"What is it?"

"When is Echo coming back?"

"Hm. I'm not sure. He said this mission could take a few days."

"I miss him."

"I know kid. We all do. You'll see him soon though."

"Do you ever worry that one of these missions he might not come back from?" Omega asked.

"To be honest, no. But we are soldiers. We always know the risks of every mission. The risk of death is always there, but its not something I like to think about."

"I think about it sometimes. But I get scared." Omega began. "I'm scared that one day one of us will get hurt really badly or worse."

"That's not something you need to worry about Omega. Nothing can hurt us as long as we are together."

"But Echo isn't here."

"He's with Rex and the rest of his squad. They are good men and don't leave each other behind. Echo is safe with them."

"Promise?" She asked.

Hunter grinned and pushed the hair from her face.

"I promise."

"Ok." Omega said putting her hand on top of Hunter's and smiling up at him.

"Let me know when you're ready to eat something ok?"

She nodded and got cozy back under the blanket. Hunter left her alone and went up to the navi computer. He sat in the chair for a minute and pondered before getting back up and stepping out of the ship for a moment. Hunter closed the door behind him before taking out his com device.

"Havoc 4? Its Havoc 1. I need a favor."

Omega was resting more soundly but was still feeling a bit under the weather. The ship was quiet, but she was suddenly woken up by a hand sitting against her head.

"E-Echo? Is that you?"

"Heh, how did you know it was me?"

"Echo!" Omega exclaimed sitting up. She threw her arms around him.

"Your hand is colder than every one else's." She explained.

Echo chuckled a bit and held her tightly.

"Heh heh. Yeah I guess that's true."

Omega pulled away to look at him. His smiling face was a sight for sore eyes.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well, heard you were feeling under the weather so I came to check on you. How are you feeling?"

"Actually....a little bit better now that you're here." Omega said smiling. "I missed you."

"I missed you too kid. Glad you're feeling a bit better."

"Are you staying for long?"

"I suppose I could stay for a bit."

"Yes!" Omega said excitedly. She hugged Echo again tightly. Hunter and Wrecker stared at them from the other side of the ship. Wrecker smiled.

"Seems like she's feeling better." Wrecker said. He looked over at Hunter who was crossing his arms and looked a bit annoyed at Echo. "What's with you?"

Hunter couldn't help but feel a bit jealous that he didn't have the same effect on Omega. At least right now. But he smiled knowing that she was finally starting to feel better.

"Nothing Wrecker. Good to see Echo back and Omega feeling better. That's all."

"You got that right!" Wrecker said.

Omega took out her data pad and started showing Echo how much she's been studying like he told her to. Hunter turned over to Wrecker again.

"Would you mind watching Omega for a while, Wrecker? I'm gonna take Echo with me on a supply run."

"Absolutely no problem." Wrecker responded.

Hunter stood up to get Echo's attention. Echo saw him out of the corner of his eye from across the ship and looked over. Hunter tilted his head motioning for them to go outside. Echo nodded and sent Omega to give Wrecker her attention then stepped outside of the ship.

"Something wrong?" Echo asked.

"No no. I guess I just have a few questions. Can I.... buy you a drink?" Hunter asked.

Echo agreed and they went to the nearest bar in town and took a seat at the counter. After ordering their drinks Hunter struggled to find the best way to ask his first question.

"So, I guess I'm wondering what makes Omega happy?" Hunter asked a bit nervous. He didn't want Echo to catch on, but he also couldn't hide how he was feeling. Echo chuckled a bit.

"You're not wondering what makes her happy. I know you better than that. You're wondering why she likes me so much. You're jealous."

Hunter rolled his eyes and took a sip of his drink.

"Well. You're not gonna believe me Hunter but I'm jealous of you too."

Hunter sat up and stared at him quickly. He was surprised.

"You're jealous of...me?!" Hunter asked. "Why? You make her happy Echo."

"I know. But that's for a different reason. It's the reason you even called me here, Hunter. She is only happy now because I am not around her like you are. She doesn't need to miss you if you are already there."

"Yeah, but you still make her happy Echo. How are you jealous of me?" Hunter asked.

Echo faced the bar and looked down he tipped his glass from side to side. Then spoke.

"Because she admires you more than any one else in the galaxy." Echo explained. Hunter stared at him a bit shocked.

"Whenever she talks to me it's always about you. How you train her. How you teach her. How you love her, Hunter. You can give Omega something that I can't because I chose a different path. Everyday I wonder if I made the right choice to leave, because of the family that I left behind. But then I remember how good you are for Omega. I'm reminded that she is in the best hands." Echo said putting his hand on Hunter's shoulder. "As my brother I can honestly say that you have become the best father figure to Omega that I could ask for and I wish I could be the same for her."

"You are, Echo." Hunter said putting his arm on Echo's shoulder also. "Even if you're not around. I know you have become Omega's inspiration and she is motivated to learn and do better because of you."

They both smiled and pulled each other in for a hug.

"Thank you Hunter."

"No. Thank you Echo."
