HEYY PHIGHTERS!!
HEY GUYS!! If you saw my friend @lottes-web 's post, that's right I'm WRITING AN ANGSTY SERIES ON AO3! It's a Hypertana fic that's planned to have several chapters filled with both angst and denial and hurt no comfort.
The title of the fic is Forgive Yourself, Hyperlaser. Go check it out if you would like a good angsty fic!

I originally made these drawings for myself cause I wanted better references on how to draw the Broadway Squip’s outfits but then I figured they might be useful to other people too
Parasite paused, glancing over to where Peter had placed the vial.
“Who’s that?”
They reached over, its eyes wide in an almost entranced state as they stared at the vial. The symbiote didn’t seem similar, but they were curious now. Why did this spider-person have a symbiote? Was it theirs? Had they stolen it?

Peter was sitting at a work bench in a lab that looks like it’d seen better days. The lights above were flickering madly, giving an eerie presence to the surrounding equipment. Various vials and chemical compounds sat idly on shelves and the several other tables.
One of them stood out though. It was moving. Yeah, moving. It sat next to a normal vial of blood that seemed to be sparking a small bit. “C’mon Pete…” he mumbled as he pushed the chair back. “C’mon.”
He stalked towards the two vials and tilted his head. Moving. It was living. The vial was a tube of Eddie Brock and Venom’s combined blood— it’s what had created carnage. Eddie and Peter had come up with this together— a potential life saving procedure— and now Pete was carrying it out. Or he was going to try to.
He was on two different sides. On one hand? He could potentially save lives, help the world for the greater good, and all it would take was a little bit of blood sequencing. On the other? This was living. It was alive. It couldn’t live on its own, but Peter was keeping it alive and healthy in the cold tube.
He swallowed thickly as he picked it up and twisted it in his fingers. “C’mon. Just don’t mess it up this time. Don’t mess it up like you did with yours… don’t… don’t screw it up, Pete. Then it’ll be humane, right?”
He realized he was… shaking. He set the vial down and moved back to his desk. He slumped down and sighed heavily. “Fuck.” Humanity. Inhumane. Ethics. All of those damn rules.. what would Mr. Stark say?

asenora, is it "shit" or "shite" that'd be the go-to for british teenagers in the 90s ;-; ?
this is basically my greatest fic-writing struggle rn, i speak american eng and have alr given in to the irresistible pull of "holy shit" (the phrase "holy shite" made my eyes water) and "bullshit" + am currently holding myself back by a Thread from "dogshit" (it's a ron pov and i just KNOW he'd overuse this if it was a part of his vocab)
my advice to american authors is to exclusively use "shit".
"shite" is used in ways which don't quite work by non-british/non-irish writers almost every time i see it, to be honest.
and the reason is that it's actually surprisingly complicated for such a little word. it's not an entirely straightforward synonym for "shit" - the usage heavily depends on context and the context heavily depends on things like regional dialect and factors [such as social class] which are often intertwined with it.
for example, in some parts of mainland britain "shite" is considered milder/more jovial than "shit"... so describing a film as "complete shite" is saying that it was so bad it was good and you enjoyed it, and saying "oh shite, i'm late" means you'll have to rush but you'll be fine.
in others, however, it would come across as stronger than "shit" - and so you'd be saying that you hated the film and had a terrible time, and that you're going to miss your plane.
"shit" - in contrast - means "shit". context clues can fill in how strongly it should be taken.
[my other profanity-related advice to american authors is to take however much swearing you think the characters would do and quadruple it...]
