My dream fancast for Will Solace is Walker Scobell’s brother, Tanner Scobell, because:
First of all, Walker looks like Will. Second of all, since Tanner looks like Walker (because they’re brothers, obviously), Tanner would be perfect for the “your not my type” scene!! And third of all: he is already casted as one of the campers in the show!!

Leo to the seven+nico, reyna, will, Calypso and Thalia: everyone, I want to tell you something.
Jason: what is it Leo?
Leo: for the last couple of weeks I was thinking and trying to figure something out an-
Piper: what was it?
Leo: my sexuality, it was on my mind for the last couple weeks and I finally figured it down and I wanted to tell you.
Calypso & Hazel: what is a sexuality?
Annabeth: ho right, you don't know. A sexuality is what you are attracted to or when or how or who to people.
Calypso & Hazel: thanks for the explanation.
Percy: so Leo, what is your sexuality?
Leo: everyone, I am aromantic asexual.
Calypso & Hazel: what does it mean?
Leo: aromantic means you experience little to no romantic attraction, and asexual means you experience little to no sexual attraction. Its a spectrum, in my case I don't feel any romantic or sexual attraction to people.
Hazel: oh, thanks for the explanation.
Reyna: but what about all the times that you flirted with people?
Leo: oh that time I just confused other kinds of attraction as romantic one.
Reyna: oh, alright.
Jason: and don't worry Leo, we except you just the way you are.
Leo: thank you Jason.
Obviously it's canon that Percy was Nico's gay awakening but it's my personal headcanon that Percy was also Will's awakening because the bike scene. Like. Do I need to explain further.
Imagine being grabbed by Percy onto a bike and holding him for dear life as he speeds you through New York, like there's no way it didn't make him start questioning things about himself.
I'd also like to think this is something he hasn't told Nico and is really awkward when he tries to dodge the question.
In the Riordanverse I know there’s vague ancient laws about the gods not interfering too much with mortal affairs. I just feel like after ToA Apollo really pushes that with being around Camp Half-Blood more but also with demigod quests. His favorite way to do so becomes apparent pretty quickly. Demigods come back from quests and random monster encounters with similar stories.
“The monster almost caught us but then, the sunlight reflected off of a broken piece of glass on the street at just the right angle. It temporarily blinded the slimy beast! Gave me just enough time to retrieve my weapon!”
“Oh really? That’s wild! A month ago on my quest there were several basilisks after me. I raised my sword and the sun glinted off of it. It seemed to disorient them. I took the opportunity to slash them to pieces.”
“Huh.” Percy chimes in. “Kind of reminds me of the other day. I was forming a wave to unleash on this giant, hairy, whatever that monster was and the sunlight bounced off of the water. Like you two said, it hit the monster right in the eyes. Not that I didn’t have it handled, but it did let me catch my breath and focus more on the attack and less on getting slashed again.”
Annabeth laughs. “And here I thought you made the water reflect the sunlight on purpose.”
Percy drags his hand across his face. “Is it too late to pretend I totally planned that because I’m just so smart?”
She elbows him and laughs. “Afraid so, Seaweed Brain.”
“Pretty sure I heard someone else talk about something like that happening too.” One of the other demigods remembers. “A random old mirror in the woods of all places. A bunch of crows flew through the trees, it moved a branch and beam of sunlight shined down through the opening. It hit the mirror and reflected right in the eyes of a monster. Gave the girl a couple of seconds, enough time to jab her spear into the monster’s head.”
Annabeth looks to Percy with wide eyes of realization. He meets her gaze. A few seconds later, he comes to the same conclusion that she did.
They see Apollo visiting with his children the following day.
“There’s been some interesting coincidences lately.” Annabeth starts slyly.
Percy joins in. “Yeah, don’t know if you’ve heard but monsters seem to keep getting the sun in their eyes during battles.”
“Oh is that so?” Apollo smiles mischievously. “How unfortunate for the monsters!”
Will hears the conversation and turns to them.
“Yeah Dad, most of the quest related injuries have been more minor lately. Seems campers have been getting just the distraction they need.” He smiles in a way that looks very similar to his dad and crosses his arms. “Almost like the sun is on our side.”
“Now, what would give you that idea?” The god winks and picks up a nearby guitar to join in with his other kids as they play.
"cool character I guess..." I mutter, walking away with a suspiciously character shaped lump in my throat

It's not always about victory
This is the fic that I wrote for the mini bang on the "chicken tendies and bacon bits" discord server. It's supposed to be a teaser for a Percy Jackson / Dabihawks AU, because I got really into this concept and want to make this an actual multichapter fic. Nico was the most nervous to come out to Hazel. Hazel meant a lot to him, but she was from the same time period he was. She’d even lived in it longer, and a time period that wasn’t at all permissive of people like Nico. Would she be able to accept that one of those people was her brother? Or would it drive a wedge between them that could never be removed. But Jason knew, and Percy and Annabeth and even Piper. She was bound to find out eventually. Nico owed it to her to at least tell her himself.
The night he told Hazel was sitting on the roof of the Pluto cabin at camp Jupiter. Nico couldn’t remember the exact words he used, he couldn’t hear himself over the ringing in his ears. Hazel was quiet. She barely looked at him. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from her, silently begging for some hint of the softness he’d come to associate his sister with.
“Okay” that was all Hazel had left him with. Just, Okay. He wanted to press, ask what she meant by that. Okay that’s fine? Okay so I have a gay brother? Okay we’re never talking again?
But maybe he was being unfair. She needed time. Eventually he wishes her goodnight and slid inside. She sat out there for a while longer. When she returned they both laid in the silence until they fell asleep. Nico left for camp half blood the next morning.
About a week later Hazel was due to visit camp half blood and Nico’s chest had been winding into a ball of anxiety all week. He kept writing and rewriting what he would say to Hazel. Maybe they could just ignore this whole thing? It’s not like Nico had a boyfriend or anything. And he wasn’t holding his breath on getting one, that would still require someone to want to date him. But she knew now. She couldn’t un-know.
Hazel had a notebook in her hands as she approached Nico at the Hades table. Will Solace caught Nicos attention for a moment with a sympathetic smile and a thumbs up. He knew how nervous Nico was about this. The irony of his crush trying to be supportive in this wasn’t lost on Nico, but he couldn’t dwell on it at the moment. “Listen Hazel-“ he started as she sat at the table and opened her book. She cut him off “Malcom Pace?” She asked, looking at her notebook. Nico blinked in confusion. “The Athena kid? What about him?” He asked “do you like him?” Hazel asked so matter of factly it nearly made Nico choke. “No I- Hazel what are you talking about?” He managed “I’m gonna find you a boyfriend.” She crossed off a name from her list, presumably Malcom Pace. Nico was too stunned for a moment to say anything. “Nathan Calish? He’s a son of Mercury. He’s good with strategy games” Nico shook himself from his state of shock “Hazel I really don’t need you to-“ Hazel continued to scribble “Maybe a Hephaestus kid? Jake Mason is pretty good looking without the casts”
Nico couldn’t help the laugh that bubbles to the surface. Maybe it was relief that Hazel didn’t hate him. That in fact she’d taken it upon herself to find him a boyfriend. Maybe it was the ridiculous list of male campers, both Roman and Greek, that she’d collected to run past him. She kept running through names and Nico kept trying to tell her it wasn’t necessary and he wasn’t looking to date right now that he appreciated all the work she’d done but- “Will Solace?” Nico’s face flushed a little “What? No. No I don’t like Will” Hazel paused and grinned. “Will Solace.” Nico started to blush against his best effort to remain neutral. “Hazel no I’m not-“ she circled Wills name in her notebook and shut it. To Nicos horror she got up from the table and made her way over to the Apollo table.
Nico tried to look busy with his food instead of the raw embarrassment he felt as he strained to narrow in on Hazels voice. “Hey Will, the Apollo cabin leads the campfire sing along right?” Will seemed a little confused, at least from what Nico could pick out of his voice “uh yea, why do you ask?” “I’m just not really familiar with how it goes and I was a little nervous, do you think Nico and I could join the Apollo cabin tonight?” Oh gods. What was Hazel doing? Nico face was burning as he stared intently at his barely touched dinner. “Oh yea of coarse” Will replied in his signature happy to help tone.
Nico was truly grateful that Hazel had accepted him, but what in hades had he gotten himself into?

GUYS I NEED HELP PLS
Ok so basically Solangelo fanfic idea (angst) so Nico and Will break up and Nico gets with a mortal that can see through the mist and after a while let him into camp. They get there late in the day so it’s campfire time. He doesn’t have time to induce his bf yet. Kayla and Austin and Will get up on stage. (Will has moved out of camp and is taking collage classes to become a doctor, he doesn’t come across the many monsters because he isn’t one of the big three and he needed to get away from camp) Will doesn’t know Nico has a new bf and that he’s here. So when he sees them cuddled up he gets JEALOUS so Will starts singing songs from short n’ sweet by Sabrina like Bed Chem, Juno, Coincidence, also a little bit of Olivia Rodrigo like get him back and Kayla and Austin are being hype back up singing and they’re playing the instruments and stuff, and Nico is sweating and after the campfire Will is telling the seven and all those people his plan (to make nico jealous and see what he left but he didn’t think he would get the chance to get nico back) and they love it so when Nico comes and is like hey guys this is my bf and the guys puts out his hand for someone to shake it but literally everyone rejects him cos Solangelo for life. After everyone leaves Nico, Will and Nico’s bf start talking and we find out Nico’s bf is transphobic (wills trans) (i love that hc) (nicos bf was also never rly gay) and was only with Nico for the money (cos pluto is the god of riches and stuff) and solangelo get back together!!!!

Will Solace is so underrated. He was 13 when the battle the Battle of Manhattan was fought, and he became the Cabin Counsellor at this age because all his older siblings died. Cabin 7 went from being the largest cabin in CHB to just 3 members.
He could've hated Percy for taking his siblings away, but he didn't. He slapped on a smile, and kept helping.
Everyone sees him as Nico's boyfriend, but he is so much more. He isn't even just a medic, even though Lord Apollo was proud of him for his exceptional healing skills. He has plague powers, even though he hates them. He can literally spread or expel any illness!
When Will Solace sings he most definitely sounds like Conan Gray ⭐️💛

It was a cold autumn evening at camp half-blood in the Hades cabin. Nico di Angelo was on his tummy on a rug on the floor, paci in his mouth, coloring in a coloring book while Will folded clothes. Nico turned a page in his coloring book and cut "Owwie!" Nico's little brown eyes filled with tears from a bleeding papercut. Will heard his little one's pained cries and said "Awe darlin' did you get a papercut?" Nico nodded still tears falling down his pale pink cheeks. Will got up and got him a child's bandaid for his finger and kissed it after the bandaid was on "See dada has got you, little sweetheart". William had a subtle southern accent (from being from Texas) but sometimes it slipped a lot more with 'darling' or 'sweetheart', making him seem softer and sweeter than usual. After Will got Nico's cries soothed he turned on the TV Leo crafted for some of the members of CHB he liked/is friends with. Will turned on Ruby Gloom, one of Nico's FAVORITE cartoons. it got him giggling and happy in seconds of being turned on.
