exploring different concepts for Onyx’s backstory

Decided to draw her in the most recent idea I had.

Concept art ideas for two of the main characters in my story I’m starting to write again. I started writing it when I was 11 (during the pandemic), and recently rediscovered it.

Characters:

Left: Luna Pearl (main character) [I drew her last and got lazy, lol. I’m not really good at drawing two eyes or hands yet…and I drew the hoodie after I drew her hands behind her back…😭] I’ll redraw her soon, I swear.

Right: Rose Star (first acquired friend) [Had a lot more motivation with drawing her since I drew her first…]

This is so real. I get stressed about seeing abhorrent grammar and spelling mistakes in writing, but I don’t obsess over getting it right like how I do with my writing.

Me reading another person's writing: Oh they missed a period there, no worries mistakes happen :) Three adjectives in a sentence? Adverbs for days? No worries I love descriptions and this story is fire.

Me seeing the same thing in my work: Wow am I illiterate? Am I actually ok? Who the actual fuck told me I can write so I can go and curse their entire family for the time it took for me to carefully craft this GARBAGE.

remembering what past versions of Onyx looked and acted like… so I wrote them down

I literally created Onyx right after Sonic 3 came out, and she’s already on her sixth version.

(Also, typing out “sixth” felt so wrong. It doesn’t even look like a real word.)

Anyway…

tried to draw my Sonic OC again to get better with the anatomy

I think it went better this time. Still trying to figure out how to properly draw the hands, feet, and quills, but at least I drew them this time

(ignore the faded mushroom in the background; I drew that first and tried to erase it so I’d have space to draw my OC)

(and I was drawing in a dark room, so some of the stuff might look janky)

…I hate that I have to exclude the people without an account from seeing my writing… but… I don’t want my writing to be fed to an AI without my knowledge (not like I’d do that willingly anyway).

AO3 has been scraped, once again.

As of the time of this post, AO3 has been scraped by yet another shady individual looking to make a quick buck off the backs of hardworking hobby writers. This Reddit post here has all the details and the most current information. In short, if your fic URL ends in a number between 1 and 63,200,000 (inclusive), AND is not archive locked, your fic has been scraped and added to this database.

I have been trying to hold off on archive locking my fics for as long as possible, and I've managed to get by unscathed up to now. Unfortunately, my luck has run out and I am archive locking all of my current and future stories. I'm sorry to my lovelies who read and comment without an account; I love you all. But I have to do what is best for me and my work. Thank you for your understanding.
