I’ve only seen season one of squid game but I think the scene that sticks most in my mind is the very first game. red light, green light.

no one who signed up for it knew they would actually die if they lost any of the games and the reason most people died in that game is because they didn’t know that and freaked out when they saw that the first person to lose was actually dead.

the pitt is crazy from a storytelling perspective because usually you sort of focus on one main plot point and it culminates over an arc so you have the time to have a dramatic chekhov's gun moment but this is one day in the ER so shit just keeps happening and gets resolved and happens again in a disjointed rhythm so instead you get chekhov's gun and chekhov's knife and chekhov's pregnancy test and chekhov's rats and chekhov's fourth set of scrubs and you have no idea when any of them are gonna fire.

thinking about whitaker half a year into the roommate arrangement. him gaining weight because he's eating more than stolen hospital food. the dark circles under his eyes lightening up because he's sleeping on a proper bed. not having to think about where he's crashing that night when he clocks out of work.
