*gripping my hands so hard on a young trans persons shoulders that their bones are about to break*
do not log on to 4chan.com. do not get involved in passing olympics. you will always lose. do not put afab/amab/tma/tme, that is cisgender society trying to know your “real” gender. you do not exist to please cisgender people. there is no ‘right’ way to be trans. learn your goddamn history, listen to your elders. listen to other disenfranchised groups. listen to intersex people and check yourself for intersexism. listen to trans poc and check yourself for racism. listen to disabled people and check yourself for ableism. be open to learning always. labels are meant to fit you, not the other way around. you are not weird or predatory for simply being attracted to others. you’re fine if you’re not a skinny white twink or a barbie doll. you’re fine if your body is ‘weird’. you’re fine if you don’t have heavy or any dysphoria. it’s okay if you actually don’t want to transition or anything like that. life is worth living at any stage, you deserve to be happy. I SWEAR THAT YOU ARE OKAY!!!!!
Cut fast fashion - buy used, learn to mend and/or make your own clothes, buy fewer clothes less often so you can save up for ethically made quality
Cancel subscriptions - relearn how to pirate media, spend $10/month buying a digital album from a small artist instead of on Spotify, stream on free services since the paid ones make you watch ads anyway
Green your community - there's lots of ways to do this, like seedbombing or joining a community garden or organizing neighborhood trash pickups
Be kind - stop to give directions, check on stopped cars, smile at kids, let people cut you in line, offer to get stuff off the high shelf, hold the door, ask people if they're okay
Intervene - learn bystander intervention techniques and be prepared to use them, even if it feels awkward
Get closer to your food - grow it yourself, can and preserve it, buy from a farmstand, learn where it's from, go fishing, make it from scratch, learn a new ingredient
Use opensource software - try LibreOffice, try Reaper, learn Linux, use a free Photoshop clone. The next time an app tries to force you to pay, look to see if there's an opensource alternative
Make less trash - start a compost, be mindful of packaging, find another use for that plastic, make it a challenge for yourself!
Get involved in local politics - show up at meetings for city council, the zoning commission, the park district, school boards; fight the NIMBYs that always show up and force them to focus on the things impacting the most vulnerable folks in your community
DIY > fashion - shake off the obsession with pristine presentation that you've been taught! Cut your own hair, use homemade cosmetics, exchange mani/pedis with friends, make your own jewelry, duct tape those broken headphones!
Ditch Google - Chromium browsers (which is almost all of them) are now bloated spyware, and Google search sucks now, so why not finally make the jump to Firefox and another search like DuckDuckGo? Or put the Wikipedia app on your phone and look things up there?
Forage - learn about local edible plants and how to safely and sustainably harvest them or go find fruit trees and such accessible to the public.
Volunteer - every week tutoring at the library or once a month at the humane society or twice a year serving food at the soup kitchen, you can find something that matches your availability
Help your neighbors - which means you have to meet them first and find out how you can help (including your unhoused neighbors), like elderly or disabled folks that might need help with yardwork or who that escape artist dog belongs to or whether the police have been hassling people sleeping rough
Fix stuff - the next time something breaks (a small appliance, an electronic, a piece of furniture, etc.), see if you can figure out what's wrong with it, if there are tutorials on fixing it, or if you can order a replacement part from the manufacturer instead of trashing the whole thing
Mix up your transit - find out what's walkable, try biking instead of driving, try public transit and complain to the city if it sucks, take a train instead of a plane, start a carpool at work
Engage in the arts - go see a local play, check out an art gallery or a small museum, buy art from the farmer's market
Go to the library - to check out a book or a movie or a CD, to use the computers or the printer, to find out if they have other weird rentals like a seed library or luggage, to use meeting space, to file your taxes, to take a class, to ask question
Listen local - see what's happening at local music venues or other events where local musicians will be performing, stop for buskers, find a favorite artist, and support them
Buy local - it's less convenient than online shopping or going to a big box store that sells everything, but try buying what you can from small local shops in your area
Become unmarketable - there are a lot of ways you can disrupt your online marketing surveillance, including buying less, using decoy emails, deleting or removing permissions from apps that spy on you, checking your privacy settings, not clicking advertising links, and...
Use cash - go to the bank and take out cash instead of using your credit card or e-payment for everything! It's better on small businesses and it's untraceable
Give what you can - as capitalism churns on, normal shmucks have less and less, so think about what you can give (time, money, skills, space, stuff) and how it will make the most impact
Talk about wages - with your coworkers, with your friends, while unionizing! Stop thinking about wages as a measure of your worth and talk about whether or not the bosses are paying fairly for the labor they receive
Think about wealthflow - there are a thousand little mechanisms that corporations and billionaires use to capture wealth from the lower class: fees for transactions, interest, vendor platforms, subscriptions, and more. Start thinking about where your money goes, how and where it's getting captured and removed from our class, and where you have the ability to cut off the flow and pass cash directly to your fellow working class people
I love my creative writing workshop! Sometimes, though, it's hard to tell whether I'm nervous about getting critiques or shaking with excitement over it like a hunting dog stood in front of a rabbit.
I need 2020 super saturated colors to make a comeback. My phones photo album was so alive back then. It still is pretty lively now, but I scroll through old photos, and it's like an explosion of color.
Or maybe I just need to pull another: live to make my photo gallery more nice to look at. I have been doing things. I just always forget to take pictures, which can make me forget that I haven't just been staring at schoolwork all month.

Write👏trans👏essays👏
Write them. Just do it. Write essays asking questions about trans identities in media and literature. Write them about trans history and its impacts. Write them about scientific findings on trans identities. Write them about yourself! And your own trans experiences! It's a great way to examine your own thoughts on your identity.
Right now, when so many misconceptions on trans identities are being pushed onto us, I feel like we need these resources more than ever. Even if you don't think you can write, even if you think essays are boring. You don't have to share them with anyone, but just doing the research, answering questions for yourself about our existence and history is something I feel is worthwhile.
Don't let people tell you it's too controversial or that you're pulling something out of nothing. Write the essay.

I had a bad biting problem when I was younger. That and clawing at people. It wasn't that I didn't know it hurt. I assumed as much. I felt bad after I did it. But people were always touching me.
I hated it. I've always been pretty soft-spoken around people unless I know them well. Teachers have always joked that they can't hear me. Sometimes, I talk very little during the day, and my voice sounds clogged and scratchy by the end of it from not being used. I've always been short. When I was younger, I was kinda scrawny. My claws and teeth often felt like my only defense when people would come near me.
I was always so jumpy, and I had my reasons, but it often led to me panicking and hurting people when I really didn't mean to. They just happened to move a little too quickly when they were a little too close to me. I felt bad about it afterward. I'd feel the urge to whine and lick at my friends' wounds in apology. I couldn't do that, of course, and no injury was too severe, but it still hurt.
I eventually got used to not using my claws and keeping them tucked, especially after I got out of the hostile environment I was in as a kid. However, the urge never really went away. I still panic sometimes when my friends get close to me or move past me too quickly. I do my best not to make any move that could hurt them. They understand a lot of the time, or I hope that they do. They're always quick to tell me it's okay. I still feel bad sometimes, though, when we're play fighting, and suddenly I start snapping my teeth. It doesn't feel very fair to them.
I think I'm better than I used to be. Now I at least keep my claws cut, and when we play, I try to keep my bites from catching any skin, and if they do, I try my best to keep them soft. I try to warn them in the ways I can when I'm not feeling safe, though at times it's difficult as I tend to go very quiet when I'm very upset and can only communicate through body language. I really hope they know that I never intentionally swipe at them in a way that isn't playful or that when I bear my teeth, I'm only trying to ask them to back away.
Evil tics want me dead (I've been doing the same annoying tic all week)

This would be such a cute children's or young adult series
imagine a bunch of therians living on a huge ranch together, except they’re shapeshifters who can turn into their kin.
the horse therian tends to the herds, and is an avid rider. He’s responsible but has a hot temper.
The border collie therian is the horse’s right hand, she’s fiercely protective and loyal to a fault.
the coyote therian is feral and lives somewhere on the edges of the property. They live with a coyote pack on and off, and sometimes live as a human.
The crow therian is curious, intelligent, and tinkers. She makes small machines and toys.
the mountain lion therian is aggressive and detached, sometimes preying on the horse herd, but she doesn’t mean any real harm, and still loves the farm and those on it.
The two barn cat therians are a bonded pair, both pragmatic and detached, but affectionate to those who treat them well.
WAIT I NEED TO WRITE THIS-
A reminder to the "the American government wouldn't..." crowd. They have. They have made their own internment camps before. They have rounded up innocent citizens and immigrants before. The victims of which are still alive to this day and trying to share their stories with the world, they have been trying to warn us for a long time. George Takei (as seen above) is a famous example of this. He has written about his experiences time and time again, even publishing a book talking about his time in these camps. He may be famous now, but at the time he was just another kid forced from his home. To this day he still firmly dedicates himself to trying to educate and inform people, trying to spread awareness with his platform. The American Government can and will do terrible things. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.
Say it with me now:
They will not trick me into fearing my neighbors
They will not trick me into turning against friends
They will not trick me into turning against coworkers
They will not convince me I am powerless
They will not convince me I am worthless
They will not convince me I am hateful
You're smarter, kinder, and braver than you think you are. Don't let some old incompotent political leaders convince you otherwise.
I love my pack they're such nice people
I love talking to people! My only rules are that if you're a minor, I'd prefer if you didn't dm me

where is the nervous dog representation. who up excessively yawning and licking their lips
My toxic trait is that anytime I get too much attention online, I debate for a good minute whether or not to delete my entire account.
A character I wrote in my short story Cowboys, Pau, is specifically only listening to bluegrass whenever music plays around him. Pau helps his community by doing odd jobs around town and cares deeply for those around him. Pau went to jail for punching a cop because he was out of line.
He's a badass cowboy of a man.
This picture but they're both me.
me (wolf) and my doggy friend, we're so silly !!!
Just an FYI. The FDA is not allowed to announce any food recalls due to the health communications pause the current administration enacted. You can still find this information by visiting USDA the site directly.
https://www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls
Here’s the fda link to use to search for recalls, safety alerts, and market withdrawals.
https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts
So, while you are making your grocery list, you may want to visit the recalls list since there’s no public communication right now.
I'd like to own my own house someday. In my dream scenario, I'd own a few acres of land, and I'd build a guest house for my pack to come and go as they please.
Me and my mate would build a cob house specifically and model it after earthship homes. We'd have a conversation pit and a sun room, and we'd make everything nice and cozy. We'd have kids, and we'd raise them in a strong and loving community of friends who treat each other like family. I'd get to sit on my front porch like any other old southern folk, and I'd watch my pack run around happily in the safe haven we have cultivated for ourselves.
I'd like to foster, if I'm able, and provide others with a safe space to live for a while while on their journeys. Maybe I'd also rescue animals.
I'd learn how to farm and work towards being more and more self sustainable (which is already a real goal of mine). I'd repair old clothes and harvest my own food, and I'd give back to my community the same way they give back to me.
Nonhumans of Tumblr, what is your dream as “human”, if you have one?
Personally, I wanna move somewhere north (probably Sweden), own a cabin in the woods with my own garden and a dog, and a partner. Embrace my nonhumanity. Make music but also home-baked goods in my free time. Ideally no job, but since that’s not how the world works, I’d wanna do something with canines, other northern animals, or something out in nature in general.
I need fallout 4 green injected in my veins.
BTW i see these posts all the time like "ohhh i dont know what to comment on fics.." and every response is "keysmashes! or hearts!! anything works :3" and thats GREAT!! thats helpful!!
but: consider. if u genuinely like analyzing writing.. do u know ur just allowed to go through and quote your favorite parts and ramble abt what they mean to u and the author will LOSE IT WITH HYPE?
genuinely. i felt SO WEIRD the first time i did it.. but like. holy shit authors love it. its crack for authors. the first time i did it, it was on a fic that hadnt updated in half a year, give or take, and the author made 3 updates that month BECAUSE OF MY COMMENT.
LIKE. as an author every comment is INCREDIBLE!!! but also, dont feel like your comment has to be short or otherwise ur invasive or smth!! authors ADORE long comments more than ANYTHING.
I understand this completely. I personally knew about the therian community well before I ever labeled myself as one, but as an outsider, I was always too nervous to call myself one because of a lot of the conflicting information that I would hear. I didn't know if I followed enough of the "rules" to consider myself a therian, even if I'd known I'm an animal for a long time. I call myself a lot of labels, I personally don't mind what others call me.
I'm an animal, I grew up like one. Others treated me as one. The only thing that changed was the empowerment I felt when I started openly referring to myself as one.
it's interesting to me when therians speak of having an "awakening" when it comes to their theriotypes. I don't mean this in a invalidating kind of way, just in a "we have very different experiences and I want to discuss that" kind of way. i never had an "awakening", because i felt like an animal from as early on as i could remember. all my life i knew that i wasn't human. that if given the choice, i would swap my body for an animal one in a single heartbeat. if i had never heard of the word therian, it really wouldn't have mattered, because I WOULD STILL BE AN ANIMAL. when i found the term therian, my hesitance was not at all from "am i an animal or not" because i knew that i was. it was more... me doubting my understanding of the specific term. "is this a spiritual term only? would i be using it incorrectly?"- i was afraid to upset anyone. to step on toes. "am i an animal" was never even a question for me because it was always a YES.
I would really like to play fetch rn. Maybe at the beach. Idk throw me a stick. I’m just a dog

Getting out of my nice, cozy bed to go to an 8 AM biology lecture was so difficult today.
What do you mean I need to be at school? I'm supposed to be curled up in a dog bed waiting for someone to wake up and give me breakfast...
