I was rewatching Young Justice and the fact that all versions of Robin are the only one forced to keep their secret identity even with their teammates and friends is usually written off as Batman being paranoid. I think it's more than that, that it's his way of giving the kids an 'out'. If they ever decide they don't want to fight crime anyone they have a safe identity to return to, no obligations.
They are children first, soldiers second. Bruce knows better than anyone the loneliness his job brings and of course he would want better for anyone, especially his kids.
fat character who becomes a vampire and loses a ton of weight and blood can not sate their hunger but they can't eat anything they used to like anymore. everyone views it as a positive healthy positive development but they're starving and dying slowly but never truly dying, a living corpse. this is a metaphor for something
endless cycle of torment
I think instead of lame excuses like "Cass is away in Honk Kong" or "[x bat] is doing stuff from his team of heroes" or just ignoring Steph's existance altogether, it would be funny if fanfics took members of the Batfam out of comission by having them have their own fanfic-related cliché adventure
Like, a Jason-centered fic where he asks Alfred where is the replacement and Alfred just goes "oh, Master Timothy has just been possesed by himself from thee-years into the future and is away trying to prevent our horrible deaths" and that's it, Tim is having his own time-travelling fix-it fic in the background which is why he's not mentioned
Babs on a Babs-centric fic where she could really use some advice asking Bruce on comms where her Batgirls are and Bruce non-chalantly answers "Steph has been hit by a love potion and Cass has offered to help her to her apartment", Babs waits a moment and comments "oh... do we get the 'congrats on kissing' banner ready for tomorrow?", "no, I think it's a slow burn, give them a week" and the rest of the fic happens without them
Dick, entering a room and finding Duke "hey, is Damian acting weird this morning or what?" "I think he said something about being stuck on a time-loop until he learns the true meaning of christmas" "aren't we on july?" "Yeah I thought so too but when I asked he mentioned he had already gotten my help on two loops so I just left him be" "well I needed help with a case, you in?" and the rest of the fic is a Dick and Duke team-up
Bruce: Why pouting?
Clark: You had a kid and you didn't tell me.
Bruce: I had plenty of kids. You need to be more specific.
Clark: You had a kid of your own, and you didn't tell me.
Bruce: Are you making differences between bio kids and adopted kids? 'Cause I have some big news for you, alien boy.
Clark: You had a son with Talia al Ghul.
Bruce: Listen, it was an accident-
Clark: Are you telling me you just happened to get Talia al Ghul pregnant?
Bruce: You knocked up Lois!
Clark: We were engaged? She's not my arch-enemy?? I didn't keep it from you???
Bruce: Hey, cut me some slacks! I was a bit shocked! I mean, how would you react if you found out to have a secret child with Lex Luthor?!
Clark: *nervous laugh*
Bruce: ???
Clark: What an odd choice of words...
(BRB gonna use this dialogue in my Superbat WIP)
Noble gases are clearly aroace I need people to disagree with the current majority even if you don't agree with me
Plz rb if you vote
I like to think naturally he’s far sighted but in an alien way super-vision way. So without his glasses he can scope out the city from the sky and do Superman work really well. But at a desk job? Noticing all those minuscule details like the chips in your mug, the graphite dust as you write, the colors and molecules humans can’t see must be exhausting. Like adhd issues but with super-vision.
So his glasses dull that down enough to let him focus on his writing work. Just makes things blurry enough to be at a human level.
Alternate universe where Clark Kent really does need his glasses and every time he goes Superman he’s risking it all
Vague spoilers for one piece ep 1087
We’ve seen Koby twice in the last several hundred episodes. First at Reverie when he’s asked whether he likes Luffy and he stutters like an idiot. Second when he’s the only person completely unaffected by Boa Hancock’s powers.
I know what you are Koby 🤨
