And nowhere in this process is there any hope of things actually being okay. I'm dangling a carrot on a stick in front of myself, and I've convinced myself it's actually gold. and I keep marching in the hopes that maybe one day I'll actually want the carrot. The carrot that I'll never catch.
When your only options are to keep going or to give up, how can you do anything but be gutted that those are the only choices you have?
