At This Point The Only Way Chuuya Can Get Dazai To Actually Acknowledge The Ex Part Is If He Manages

At this point the only way Chuuya can get Dazai to actually acknowledge the ex part is if he manages to get that man to sign divorce papers.

Dazai will not sign them. Obviously.

THIS.

I normally block hate like that out because it’s really not that deep it’s just fictional silly guys, but sometimes it reaches me and it’s so infuriating😭

ESPECIALLY when people say there’s no evidence for it. It’s SKK we are talking about here!

(When did we even need evidence for a ship?)

It could be read as platonic or romantic, and there is evidence for both. If you read the material you’d know that 😭😭😭

half of skk haters say it doesn’t make sense bc they hate each other and the other half say it doesn’t make sense because they’re actually so platonic they couldn’t feel romantic things for each other.

which one is it? do they hate each other or are they besties? 😭

I know Soukoku is an overrated ship. But the angst we can create with Dazai and Chuuya is such a specific flavor fucked up but painfully poetic that it’s hard not to at least find them interesting.

Like what about the Soukoku where Chuuya sees Dazai again after several years of separation, and he’s the same.

Chuuya sees Dazai, and sure, on the surface he seems like a changed man. Happier. Better. A person who fights for good.

But Chuuya knows Dazai, and he knows that Dazai is only pretending. He knows Dazai is trying so hard to be this other person. To be what Odasaku wanted. He’s gone and tried to change everything about himself but his name, yet no matter how desperate he is he cannot escape who he once was. Who he was in the Port Mafia. Who Mori trained him to be.

And Dazai knows Chuuya knows, but it’s such an easy comfort. His old habits are down right addictive, after all. Every moment spent with Chuuya, Dazai risks falling into who he used to be.

Neither of them want that, but the idea of the ever looming possibility that everything Dazai worked for could be ruined by the Chuuya’s mere existence and the act of Dazai loving him is so very compelling to me.

Do you ever think about how the event that led people to start calling Dazai and Chuuya Soukoku was an act of grief?

Their partnership started at 15, but the mafia immortalized it after the Dragon's Head Conflict by dubbing them Soukoku.

Do You Ever Think About How The Event That Led People To Start Calling Dazai And Chuuya Soukoku Was An

The most fearsome duo in all of Yokohama.

Soukoku, a name meant to remind everyone, enemies and allies alike of the destructive force of they're capable of. Of the mafia's victory during the Dragon's Head Conflict.

Of the same night, the very moment, Chuuya learned he lost his friends again.

Do You Ever Think About How The Event That Led People To Start Calling Dazai And Chuuya Soukoku Was An

Chuuya wasn't there to bring the mafia victory or destroy buildings, he was there to save his friends. That's all he wanted, to get the people he cared about home, safe.

Instead he had more people ripped from him. He activated corruption in a state of grief and it's so different from the corruption we see in the main manga.

Chuuya's rage feels cold and calculated when he's fighting Lovecraft and then afterwards, he starts laughing manically. Dead Apple Chuuya's corruption feels so raw and pained.

Especially when we see Dazai nullify it.

Do You Ever Think About How The Event That Led People To Start Calling Dazai And Chuuya Soukoku Was An

He never stopped screaming, when the marks are gone and corruption's nullified, he's still screaming. You can't tell me that's not a tear in the second panel, it's shaped and shaded differently to the debris.

Chuuya told Dazai not to stop him and we assume he meant not to stop him using corruption, but what if he meant "Don't stop me, at all." What if he was so overcome with grief that, in that moment, he was okay with corruption burning through him completely. What if he didn't mean that but it's what Dazai heard? And that's why he's so gentle with Chuuya afterwards, because for a second, Chuuya sounded too much like himself.

Do You Ever Think About How The Event That Led People To Start Calling Dazai And Chuuya Soukoku Was An

Do you think there was a time where Chuuya couldn't stand the name Soukoku, not because it associated him with Dazai but because it immortalized the night he failed to save his friends again?

Do you think Dazai watched Chuuya just that little more closely afterwards, afraid to hear something like "Don't stop me." again?

Does hearing the name Soukoku sometimes bring back awful memories for them when other people say it with awe?

Fukuzawa and Mori switched places?

Imagine after Natsume pairs Mori and Fukuzawa up for his plan Fukuzawa finds out about Mori’s plans to kill the current Port Mafia boss.

Imagine Fukuzawa beats him to it and kills the boss first in the hopes that he can at least make the PM into a lesser evil.

Imagine Mori founds the Armed Detective Agency to stay on the tail of the PM and hopefully get Fukuzawa arrested or at the very least force him out of the boss position…
