Un des mes célèbres favoris est Fabien Yoon juste parce que il semble comme il s’amuse avec la vie dans un moyen inoffensif

For people learning French and wanting to speak it like a native, I’ll give you some tips, the things native people say (so you can sound less formal when you speak it).

“Je suis” is often shortened to “j’suis” and if we say it fast, it becomes “chuis”

“Tu es” and basically every verb with “tu” that starts with a vowel, we contract it and make it “t’es”, “t’arrives”, etc.

“il y a”, “il y avait” are most of the time shortened to (oral speech and when writing to a friend) “ya”, “y avait”

To make a question, it’s rare that we use the “est-ce que” form, we just take the affirmative sentence and put a question mark at the end : tu veux manger? (instead of : veux-tu manger?, est-ce que tu veux manger?)

Some abbreviations we often use :

bcp (beaucoup), mtn (maintenant), pk (pourquoi), tlm (tout le monde), mm (même), ptn (putain)

I know this post is probably useless but if you have any questions about french, ill be happy to answer them!

what on earth is a tablespoon ? A spoon used at a table ???? Which can be any spoon ?????? Au secours, it makes zero sense and I hate it. I have to look up the translation EVERY TIME. Hear me out : Cuillère à soupe = Soupspoon, there you go, the spoon you use for soup, the big one and Cuillère à café = Coffeespoon, the small one. See ? no table involved and everyone is happy (surtout moi)

yeah we french are NOT just the stereotypes you guys put on us and... what? oh, 'how do you call something cheap?' nah not the point so as I was saying, we are not obsessed with br... wdym 'what is the french way of saying someone has a lot of work to do?' that's not relevant. As I was saying, we are not obsessed with bread, and... alright, alright, anyone has a question that is not about bread?

()

"ça ne mange pas de pain" -> lit., "it's not eating bread" (as in, this thing is not eating bread) : worth trying because it's not expensive or time-consuming, so even if it fails *shrugs*

"avoir du pain sur la planche" -> lit., "to have bread on the cutting plank", to have a lot of work to do.

"pour une bouchée de pain" -> lit., "for a mouthful of bread", for a low price, something is cheap.
