so online classes it is
Slowly getting used to using my iPad to take digital notes! Hate how much it heats up though, looking forward to trading this one in for the new one next month đ
Something great happened!!
Yesterday I was in an online lecture about qualitative research, everything was pretty normal until I noticed that I was writing in English instead of Spanish. I'm so excited because I finally reach the point where I can think in English.
Just completed and submitted the final version of my Extended Essay !!! °Ëâ§â(â°âżâ°)ââ§Ë°Â
So I compiled lists of words that I found super super useful in making it easier for me to finish any essay !! Here is a masterpost of some sort with transition words + key vocabs grouped together for easy access as well as an IB IOC âcheat sheetâ I used for my english LAL orals last year (though most commentaries follow a similar structure so its generalisable) ~
Good luck with your essays !!!
⌠oops just realised I forgot to bullet point one of the listsÂ
here are a few study tips on how to learn a new language đťâşď¸:
1. start speaking as soon as possible. even when you havenât learned too many words yet, the most important part of studying a language is not being afraid of using it. so download apps like hellotalk to get in touch with natives! of course, itâs even easier if you already have friends or family members speaking your target language.
2. study the most frequent words! there are tons of free so-called âfrequency listsâ online that prevent you from studying vocabulary you donât need in the long run. with only 500 of the right words you could already have basic conversations!
3. get a lot of native exposure - through podcasts, videos and movies. there are so many recommendations on the internet, no matter what language youâre learning. the earlier you start immersing yourself in native material, even if itâs childrenâs books, the faster youâll find yourself having fluent conversations!!
4. keep a weekly or daily diary to practice writing in your target language. even if itâs only composed of basic sentences, itâs the best way to use the vocabulary youâve learned!
qotd: what language would you like to study next? i really look forward to studying Italian once I have a little bit more time!! đ

14.04.2020: 48 / 50 days of productivity
iâm having a hard time staying focused today. i try to tell myself having a bad day is allowed and not the end of the world, but i have so much stuff to do. :(
âAllow yourself to be bad at something. Nobody started off being excellent.â

Happy Pride month!
1. Make studying fun by learning something extra
Learn something new - something you WANT TO LEARN
⢠a language
⢠start a relatively easy online course (make sure itâs interesting but also not too time consuming - remember that your actual school/uni work is the priority)
⢠learn a new skill like sewing/cooking/baking/painting (I recommend Bob Ross tutorials!)
You should do this extra learning during breaks or whenever you feel demotivated - this should bring you back into a study mood.Â
2. Donât listen to music
You may think it helps but if youâre a terrible procrastinator like me you will 100% be distracted (if you think music helps continue listening to music - this is just for people who are easily distracted cough cough MEEEE). An alternative is white noise; Tide is a great app with lots of sounds (and other amazing functions! Itâs also a nice extension on Chrome)
3. Wear headphones - even if youâre not listening to music!
Block out some noise + create the illusion of a focused atmosphere. Well, for me at least. Try it and tell me if it helps. If it doesnât⌠Sorry :(
4. Shower (donât waste time though, have a quick shower)
I find that showering can really improve my mood and make me feel motivated⌠Although it also makes me feel relaxed and makes me want to sleep. So yEaH, thereâs that.
hi everyone!
Iâve been gone for a while because to be honest, focusing at home is really hard. Please donât feel bad if your productivity is not on the same level it normally is - this is an unusual situation. Stay safe and take care of your mental health.
I'm thrilled, today I had the last session with my first patient, she's a lovely girl of 15 and she's great. Every one of my teachers at uni told me that teens are so complicated and that establish rapport with them is difficult af, but in my experience it wasn't, we click from the beginning, today she and her mom were so grateful and happy for everything we achieved during our time working together as a team, also, she told me she'd never feel as understood as she did in therapy with me and that she's gonna miss me, as if that wasn't enough, at the end of the session I told her I have a gift for her, a diary so she can write her thoughts and feelings now that I won't be there, she told me that she have something for me too, she gave me a beautiful necklace, and before she hug me, being honest I almost cry right there. It's the best first experience I could've ask for and I'm gonna remember it and her forever đđ¤
