I DID IT!!!! IVE WATCHED EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF PERRY MASON!! ALL 271 EPISODES AND THEY WERE ALL FABULOUS I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS
gouache sketch of the 1943 phantom :0 I loooove his mask, it has a lot of character, and I think masks with a personality of their own help to sell the idea that the person wearing it is not only disguising themselves, but creating a whole new self on top of that. Claude rains phantom you may not be the most accurate but I love you regardless <333
THANK YOU!! Yes, the GS Collectors Guide is the book I have! I appreciate the link to the collection of catalogs, my historical society had a few but not from the years I was looking for. I love looking at the old catalogs and mail-in forms anyways! Glad to know the kerchief was a pick and choose thing too, I thought as much. I was going to pick a yellow one for my uniform because it seems like a classic color for a gs uniform. Very glad that people still are interested in old girl scout stuff!!
Hey are you actually interested in the history of Girl Scout uniforms because man oh man do I have some resources for you.
Yes. Yes I am. I dug through three whole boxes of girl scout stuff in my historical society's attic. I'm planning on doing an exhibit of the uniforms they have at some point. I haunt their attic for free.
Seriously though any resources would be helpful!! When looking online I found pretty much just summarized short versions of the history of GS uniforms from 1920-1960, nowhere near enough. However in my historical society's attic they had a book meant for collectors, and it had every badge and uniform and rank, and they were organized precisely by year which was quite a relief when putting together my 1939 GS outfit. But! That's the most I've found. One thing I haven't been able to find out is why some scouts had red kerchiefs, and some scouts had yellow ones. Doesn't seem to be because of rank, is it just troops' choice like the crest???? Idk if anyone can help me answer that one it'd be much appreciated lol
I've been trying to get to the point where I can make my own full paintings of my own ideas, I'm not quite there yet lol but I had this idea for a book cover..... i wanted to paint more mermaids....... yeah. It's when she goes swimming as a mermaid for the first time :)

HHHJFHNNG OHHH MY GOD I FINALLY BEAT GRIM MATCHSTICK!!! I CAN'T FEEL MY HANDS
Here's a drawing I did last year!! this was the first of a bunch of redesigns I did of Batman villains, I wanted to make them more vintage and add some of the l original inspirations in there. As well as more old horror movie tie ins because I'm a nerd lol. Here goes
I based Two-Face off of the 1931 Dr. Jeykll and Mr. Hyde, as well as the purple and orange suit he originally wears in the comics. I gave him pinstripes and a hat because they would do that to all the goons in old movies and I think it's really funny lol.
Catwoman was based sort of on a lady from The Cat People (1942), she's kinda cool, I would def redo her now but it is what it is!
Last one is Clayface!! This one was actually my favorite, he's got a looooot of old movie inspo, I based him off of the villain in Dr. X (1932), who was a guy who slapped "synthetic flesh" on his face and molded it to look grotesque. That was basically the premise of the original comic Clayface! I put him in the clothes that Lon Chaney wears as the Phantom because Clayface was inspired by the man the myth the legend himself, the man of a thousand faces. Two Phantom posts in a row yeesh you guys are getting it all. No idea what he's doing with his hand lmao. Also not saying I predicted Caped Crusader's Clayface buuuuut.....
Have a great day everybody go watch an old horror movie~
