Everything’s going to shit, so take a little time to yourself. I’m reading tma fanfic and doodling bill cipher while looping the machine by lemon demon. Find a few things that bring you some little bit of joy, and do those things. Put your own oxygen mask on first. Take a deep breath, go outside, look at some birds. The world is still here. You are still here. And that in itself is a beautiful thing.

On twitter I’m seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.

On tumblr I’m seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.

Be careful who you get your information from. Don’t let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.

It’s not clear if the steve in “pyramid steve” is a last name (first name pyramid) or if pyramid is more of a title, but anyway i think pyramid steve should visit the death star. Isnt it really neat how time works. Like its different times in different parts of the world but its also the same time, and you can look at posts made in the past and know when they were made because we have a cool way of describing time with numbers. And then if you look at something really far away youre looking into the past because light isnt instantaneous. Idk time passing is just so cool

I scroll through hellsitegenetics and find out there’s a similar one for proteins. Follow. My feed is a mix of tmagp theorists and random animals/science/data analysis/screenshots of specific items in movies/i think i follow someone who posts pictures of rick astley/birds/whatever. It’s glorious. There’s nothing fraught about a scrub jay. 10/10 highly recommend this tumblr experience
