Fun fact about me: sometimes i know a franchise exists but i have no idea what format it’s in. Is this a podcast? A book? A game? A movie? And i’ll have to say, “no, i’ve heard of it, but i haven’t (verb of having interacted with the media) yet”. And people get weird if you say you haven’t read it and it’s actually a video game. So i usually say “absorbed” or “consumed” if i don’t know what the format is. And then i frantically google it under the table so that i can use the proper verb the next time it comes up

Vampires wearing black makes no sense. Black absorbs heat, which would make any accidental contact with sunlight even worse. Consider: vampires wearing white, maybe even reflective, clothing, carrying umbrellas meant to block sunlight, big sunhats (that have little flowers or something on them because pretty much all sunhats have little flowers on them). Ideally, they wouldn’t be out at all when the sun comes up. But the extra reflectivity could mean the difference between life and death for a vampire caught out at dawn.

I had a dream that senshi absolutely hated pickles, despised them even, because, and i quote, “they’re the same flavour all the way through. Cucumbers at least have different flavours from the skin and the meat, but they’re on thin ice. Pickles though…” and for some reason this caused anakin skywalker and i to become trapped in his nightmare, which was of a mansion filled with lamia. There was more to the dream but that just about sums it up. I also got a free fun size candy bar at one point

Anyways, a) i think canon-senshi probably loves pickles, and b) dream-senshi is wrong, pickles are amazing

The thing i both love and hate about michael’s sacrifice was how simultaneously inevitable and preventable it was.

With the info gertrude had, she thought she had to sacrifice someone to save the world. She doubtless thought michael’s blind trust in her was necessary for the plan to work. From her perspective, her actions make sense and couldn’t have happened any other way.

And yet. And yet. It would have failed anyway, whether michael was there or not. Michael could have lived a long and happy life (or at least not been fed to an eldritch horror) and the world would not have ended.

His death is pointless. He died for nothing. And yet there was no path by which he could have survived without changing fundamental aspects of the timeline. Preventable, yet inevitable.

Fun fact: i used to think shark tank was about putting like six dudes in a tank full of sharks (of the large-enough-to-eat-a-person variety) and pulling out whoever had survived at the end of the day. And then they’d put them back in the next day and they would do this for a month or so until either everyone was dead or the season was over

I love big coat and scarf michael as much as the next guy but you have to remember that sannikov land is canonically warm! It’s a jungle! He went through that door with the warm winter clothes in a backpack! Sure, it should have been cold, but that’s the funny bit about the Spiral: it defies “should” at every turn. That said, funny spirally scarves are fun as hell to draw, just probably not canonically accurate (at least as much as any visual representation of mag 101 can be canonically accurate)

Honestly I kinda get Mike Crew. After the millionth time someone asks something about you that they find weird, you do, in fact, start wanting to throw them off buildings. If I had sky powers I’m not entirely certain I wouldn’t use them that way

The tma fandom lieddd everyone talks about the “good cows” scene but it was two lines and i barely noticed it the first time! Everyone talks about the Safehouse and it was one episode (technically more if you count apocalypse!safehouse but i don’t)! Everyone talks about the “Somewhere Else” line but that’s just two words, it’s not verbally capitalized like i thought it would be! And jmart is never a cute and fluffy ship like everyone acts like it is, it’s 70% issues and 30% “we’re dating because it’s the apocalypse and we’re pretty sure we’re gonna die”!
