I know itâs not hard to point out reactionaries hypocrisy when it comes to like safe spaces or hug boxes or whatever but genuinely how much of an echo chamber do you have to exist in for you to think this is a reasonable thing to say
Me every time I re listen to this amazing show

This is my whole life rn.
Sexuality is so fucking confusing. am i ace? demi? bi? lesbian? who knows. discovering my preferences feels like an episode of game changer. the only way to learn is by playing, the only way to win is by learning
I find it unfathomable and astounding that Tumblr isn't more obsessed with Sam Reich. You're telling me there exists out there a man who was born into the aristocracy of our countryâwith every privilege of modern society at his fingertipsâwho didn't complete high school (due to his mental health) and instead chose to devote his life to making strangers laugh and raising awareness on mental health. A full-bearded short king who is so committed to being the change he wants to see in the world that he decided to take the company he worked for into his own hands so that he could make sure all the people who worked under him could keep their livelihoods.
How many other CEOs are out here being as honest and transparent with their target audience/market as Sam Reich is? How many of them acknowledge when they fumble and continuously strive to be better than they were? How many of them actually seem like they respect their talent, both in the cast and crew? Sam Reich is the standard we should be holding other CEOs to.
But forget about all that (I could talk for a long time about the respect I have for Sam Reich)âignore just how respectable he is as a businessman and a person. Ignore all the wholesome reasons for obsessing over Sam Dalton Reich.
The man is a stone-cold fox.
He's a little chaos gremlin and an absolute evil mastermind all rolled into one classy suit and well-groomed beard. Whenever Sam is on the set, you can guarantee he is going to make you crack a smile. And for someone with such natural authority, he's never afraid to be the butt of a joke and show himself being embarrassed. Go ahead, watch any clip of him trying to improvise in No Laugh Newsroom and just try to resist that blush.
You're sleeping on a goldmine of a man, here, damnit! And I will NOT let this go ignored any longer!
There really is no cartoon/anime for female empowerment like the OG ATLA and LOK cartoons.
The creators of ATLA wrote the manifesto on how to create a masterful series on female empowerment and equality that is not cheesy or hocky.
In this show, women and girls are not a monolith but immensely diverse. There's no correct way to be a powerful, talented and bold woman or girl within the avatar universe.
You can be hyper-feminine like Ty Lee and Asami.
You can embody more traditionally masculine qualities like Korra and Toph.
Or you could just be a typical woman or girl falling more in between like Azula, Mai, or Suki.
You see the exact same thing for the male characters. There's no right way to be a man. There's many ways to be a man, and this idea flies in the face of patriarchy.
I say that the Netflix version is misogynist, because it's not enough to be a powerful woman. One must be allowed to be unapologetically, unabashedly and boldy powerful.
Which is what happens in the OG ATLA. Sokka's misogyny was actually a part of his character arc, because every time he was misogynist his misogyny was met with the answer that women and girls are phenomenal, that women and girls are living their lives and largely unconcerned with the opinions of men.
If you read the Kiyoshi novels, you learn that surprisingly enough, the least patriarchal amd misogynist nation in all of Avatar is the fire nation, and the misogynistic nation in all of Avatar is the northern water tribe.
The reason I say that the women in these shows are unabashedly powerful is because aside from Sokka and the master from the Northern Water tribe, no one ever questions why or how they are powerful. They expect it.
Zuko is Ozai's first born son, yet Azula is his pride. When Ozai imagines the future, he imagines it with Azula as the fire lord. He names her after his father. He trusts her to go find the avatar once he knows the avatar has returned.
Sokka and Katara effectively lost both of their parents, but Katara the youngest steps up as the mother and becomes the glue of the group. She's the one who becomes both an immensely powerful bender and healer.
Suki loves Sokka, but when we are introduced to her. She is unconcerned with him. Her and the other Kiyoshi warriors are the protectors of the village who go out into the world to do good into the world.
We see the revseral of all of these tenants in the Netflix show.
Ozai has hope for Zuko at the expense of Azula who he sees as a nuisance. She is no longer am obvious prodigy.
Katara is seen as a child who will not grow up by her brother who is now behaving as a father figure.
Suki is infatuated with Sokka and she follows him around Kiyoshi island when he arrives.
These woman are powerful but restrained and undermined in this power. Suki becomes concerned with the opinions of a man, and a random man at that.
What the OG ATLA taught to all women, girls, boys and men is that you never have to apologize for being powerful, intelligent, kind empathetic.
This is a very critical point that cuts to the heart of the OG ATLA that Netflix has missed.
This is absolutely hilarious and I am here for it.
Zukka is a ship that I'm ultimately indifferent to but its existence gives me more glee than any other ship. As someone who obnoxiously spent the majority of my pre-teen years going to forum war for Kataang against Zutara, and watching as that war went on strong for years after I'd left my station, the rise of Zukka basically felt like this
"After ten long years the fight shows no sign of stopping. Kataang is once again bringing its ultimate attack of canon-compliance, while Zutara has released another essay on how it better suits the show's themes of balance- wait. What's this? Why it's-it's- IT'S ZUKKA WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!!!"
Everyday i'm reminded that no one could ever even come close to serve as much cunt as this gay ass demon.
I love how the fandom has basically made it canon that Hermes eyes are covered or just donât exist.
Wouldn't you like...?đđľ
The movie got nominated for Best Picture but I didn't get nominated for Best Actress?
But I AM the movie...
asexuals meeting each other
If you havenât already or itâs been a little while, go take yourself out on a date. Splurge on yourself. Allow yourself to be happy in the solitude. Let your heart be warmed by the proper treatment you give yourself. Your heart will thank you.đ
You are allowed to exist alone in public btw. You're allowed to go to the movies alone and go out to eat alone and hang out in a park alone and go for a walk alone and whatever else. It isn't weird or creepy, it doesn't make you lonely or a loser or whatever. You are allowed to just exist as yourself.
This is the most accurate post
sometimes the teacher/professor experience is like
professor smiley mcfrienderson, plays music, tries to befriend students, is always in a peppy mood: oh youâre dying? sorry i donât accept late work :) make sure you write this five page paper! iâm gonna throw a dart at a board to decide whether or not iâll actually take it for a grade and if i do itâs worth 10% of your total grade and if i donât you should do it anyway as busywork because learning is fun! :D
professor stone face, who scares you to death on syllabus day and has clearly seen some sort of horrors: yeah you can skip class if you want idc you know what works best for you. btw you can get ten bonus points for taking a funny selfie with me renewable once per week. wanna hear my life story

if you aren't best friends with your lover and a little bit in love with all your friends than what's the fucking point
I swear people now think theyâre entitled to know every queer person that could possibly be around them. NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO MAKE ANYONE COME OUT. Letâs learn our lesson from Kit Connor and just allow people to be who they are without trying to speculate or force them to come out. At the end of the day we donât know these celebrities and have no right to their private information.
With the whole âTaylor swift is gayâ article going around I want to talk about my hatred for the âgaydarâ and speculation about peopleâs identities.
I genuinely hate it when someone talks about a celebrity (or anyone) and they say âare you sure they arenât a little fruity?â To any feminine guy or masculine woman. It makes me so angry beyond words. Now, if you know me, you know I like Ben Schwartz. I talk about him all the time. Every time I show videos of him people around me always ask âoh are you sure he isnât gayâ men can fucking like theater, or improv or art and not be gay. Not be LGBT. Itâs fucking sickening.
People even say this about me sometimes , which is different as I am LGBT. But even if I wasnât it still isnât ok to just walk up to someone and go âhey are you *limp wrist*â like it just. AAHSHFJWJFHIWHDUWIEJ STOP. Like I get it, itâs cool finding other LGBT people, but stop putting people into fucking boxes. Stop assuming peopleâs sexualities. It doesnât matter if they are a celebrity or a random Joe. Just stop.
I know itâs year of the dragon this year but I wouldnât mind if it became year of the capybara
A lucky capybara has given you a blessing! ⨠May it last the whole year and more!

I am convinced that this is Maomao happy stimming and I love it so much.
Iâm being so serious btw when I say that Aziraphale needs to break down and scream and cry and shout and express his anger for once. Like Iâve already made a post about how Aziraphaleâs response to his abuse is different from Crowleyâs, how itâs less socially acceptable and less represented than âinstinctual aversion to anything that reminds the victim of the abuserâ and how the fandom has reacted really poorly to it (hey maybe instead of blaming the victim for returning to the source of abuse we should⌠idk, be blaming the abuser?) but I really really hope that Aziraphale gets to actually recognise his abuse and be allowed to process it properly.
Throughout the whole show, and I think we can safely assume, his whole life, he has not cried. He has not cried, or shouted or screamed or let his cheery facade slip for more than a few moments at once. He does not have any healthy coping mechanisms, he cannot acknowledge his abuse and he cannot escape (nor does he feel like he can escape) from the source of abuse. He is still there. He is still being abused, controlled and manipulated right down to the last second of season 2. He has not had the time or the freedom to unpack or even recognise his religious trauma, let alone learn how to deal with it properly. You have to understand this before you blame the entire final fifteen on him.
I am so tired of people thinking that Crowley has faced more abuse than Aziraphale just because it is less subtle and more widely recognised. That is honestly such a harmful idea to have, especially considering how common it is for abuse victims to react in the exact same way as Aziraphale before, during and after theyâve escaped the abusive situation. And you know what? I think the one person who would understand this is Crowley. He knows that Aziraphale is in an abusive situation, heâs been through it himself, and he can recognise what is going on. He knows that Aziraphale is not the enemy, and yes, Aziraphale does need to apologise for hurting him during the final fifteen but if Crowley forgives him, there isnât anything wrong with that. Crowley understands the context and he understands that Aziraphale is just as much of a victim as he is.
The fandom would do well to understand that too. Weâre not picking sides. Aziraphale is just as much of a victim as Crowley is and the person to blame is, and always has been, Heavenâs corrupt and manipulative system.
I need a sticker for surviving 2023 so I made one and thought Iâd share it with you all too. Reblog to give everyone stickerssss

When I was younger I hated romantic comedies. But it just occurred to me that what I actually hated was films/shows with sexist stereotypes and heteronormative bullshit. Turns out I actually fucking love romantic comedies now that I've figured out they can be queer and/or not full of toxic patriarchal nonsense.
I heard someone call barbie disappointingly heterosexual and I've never disagreed with anything more strongly in my life
what does it mean to be barbie?
I justâŚOh My God.
can you stop talking about your holes?
