Cryptozoology is my favourite kind of fake science stuff. Wish there was also cryptobotany, like mothman but its just a really big fern in the middle of a field with literally nothing else around it , that spawned in the dead of night, might have killed a few people and never shows up in photos, and no one is sure its even real

please please please don’t forget to include intellectual disability, psychosis / schizospec disorders, level 2-3 autistics, folks w dissociative disorders, and others with “severe mental illness” from ur conversations about mad liberation.

these are some of the most vulnerable and disenfranchised mad people, and we need to give them a voice.

these are the places where liberation is needed the most

Altogether, I really like the way americans say "can I help you?" as a polite general one-size-fits-all stand-in for "who the fuck are you/what the fuck are you doing here/how the fuck did you get in here/what the fuck are you staring at/what is your fucking problem." Such a polite way of going "bitch what the fuck."

sex is fun but it isn't sacred which is part of why we even fight for bodily autonomy and privacy in the bedroom. one night stands and quickies and casual sex are all morally neutral. to mythologize sex as the ultimate intimacy through which people eternally connect is ridiculous and serves only to empower the christofascist regime which uses sex and intimacy as simultaneous weapons of oppression and beneficiary incentives for everyone to stay in line with the status quo.

sex is fun and it feels good and there is nothing wrong with having sex. at the same time sex is nothing particularly special or great either. It's just another thing humans are capable of. we give the concept of sex too much power tbqh.

Disability tips and ideas from abled people: "buy a robotic hand that will flex for you so you can open and close your hands" "stair climbing wheelchair!" "Here's a robot that will use AI and complicated technology to feed you"

Disability tips and ideas from other disabled people: "get a bidet hose so you can freshen up when full showers are too hard" "stick the fork handle in a piece of pool noodle so you can actually grip the damn thing, if that doesn't work, tape it!" "you can totally tip your chair back on the anti-tip wheels and recline if you need to, just don't try and propel like that."

The difference is low vs high tech, cost, and general usability. Disability tech and aids need to pass a certain line of "is this more help than hinderance?" before they become useful. Cost, ease of use, need, and a couple other things all influence that.

Average disabled experience:

doctor: good news! The tests were negative!

Patient: so… what’s wrong with me then?

doctor: we don’t know :)

patient: so are you going to run more tests?

doctor: haha, no.

"ohh what if my kid starts identifying as a CAT because of the trans agenda we have to prote—" well they've always done that. do you remember the psychological effects of h2o on young girls. of warrior cats on autistic children. i believed i was a demigod because of percy jackson. twilight came out and kids were telling their friends they were secretly vampires. this is just a thing kids do. worry less

what people think self diagnosis is: “lol I saw a tiktok of this disorder and it looks super fun so I’m gonna tell people I have it”

what it actually is: “I’ve had all these really bad symptoms for such a long time and i don’t have access to proper healthcare so I’ve been doing a lot of research and cross checking and talking to people who have this condition/disorder and they agree that I seem to have it. I’ve also looked into other disorders and conditions with similar symptoms but this one seems to match up with my experiences perfectly and learning about other people who live and deal with it makes me feel so seen so I’m going to self diagnose with it but I still understand that I may be wrong and if I ever do receive proper medical treatment I will be fully open to accepting it’s something else.”

I have a crackpot theory for the fnaf movie.

Despite knowing of Garrett's ghost, we haven't seen any real hint of it. Or so we've been led to believe.

Garrett's memory haunts Mike throughout the movie, so isn't it strange that such a prominent character doesn't appear as an animatronic unlike Every Other Kid William Has Killed?

I say he did.

Each of the murdered kids has something associated with the animatronic they come to haunt, such as Bonnie's kid having rabbit ears or Foxy's having a hook.

Now, Garrett. He has one very signature prop that he wields: a toy plane. Not just any plane though, but specifically a propeller plane.

I Have A Crackpot Theory For The Fnaf Movie.

So what? Well let me tell you. There is an animatronic in the movie that is not only associated with propellers, but also haunts Mike throughout the movie.

I Have A Crackpot Theory For The Fnaf Movie.

Conclusion: Garrett is Balloon Boy.

Opinion Having rights still bewilderingly popular By Alexandra Petri Columnist | Follow November 8, 2023 at 5:05 p.m. EST
Tuesday’s election results suggest that the Republican legislative strategy of “taking people’s rights away for no clear reason” was not an overwhelming success at the ballot box. Potential Childbearing Vessels on Legs contumaciously insist on continuing to see themselves as fully realized people deserving of the protection of the law, and, unfortunately, they can still vote, and some of them even have friends who vote with them.
When confronted with questions such as “What should be in my library? Books, or just empty shelves and a scowling member of Moms for Liberty standing with folded arms and hissing whenever anyone dares approach?” people overwhelmingly selected the first thing. When they were given a choice between Deciding and Having Things Decided For Them, Deciding proved surprisingly popular.

The way to avoid being a celebrity dick rider is to understand that no one rich AND famous AND influential makes it in those industries without at the very least knowing where some bodies are buried, keeping quiet about some exploitation or abuse, or making friendships and connections with the kind of people who are doing the lion's share of destroying the planet. And that at a certain point, they have more in common with elites than the ordinary people who support them. And also, they're going to be an unavoidable part of your media landscape unless you disengage completely from popular culture and alienate yourself from anyone who touches it. And also, your response to a celebrity's fuckshit is never as important to your response to the same fuckshit in your own community that you have direct influence over and the ability to organize around.

"we got our first 'fakeclaim' today", the text, which is the thoughts of the girl depicted, reads, with this girl sitting at her computer.
"how can a stranger on the internet possibly know"; the text reads. the screen now shows the computer, although it is hard to distinguish the text on it.
"what someone experiences every day?" the computer screen is now distinguishable. it reads a comment written to the girl, mostly scribbled out, but part of it is legible, and it reads: "fake systems, like you."
"i talk about it so little." the view returns to the girl's face, who is looking off to the side in sorrowful thought.
"humans are so complex." the drawing shows a blank human with various thought bubbles, exclamation marks, and speech bubbles.
"and even if i wrote a million pages about every little detail of my life with OSDD-1b," the drawing shows the girl at a desk, writing on a sheet of paper. surrounding her are comically, and metaphorically, large stacks of paper, intended to represent the papers she has already written.
"would it be enough to shine even a fraction of light," the drawing depicts the girl now handing a stack to the blank human from before, who looks at her with curiosity.
"on what it is truly like to live that," the drawing shows the blank human reading one of the papers.
"...and not just to read it?" the drawing shows the blank human extending an arm of support onto the girl's shoulder. they are responding in a small speech bubble, but there are no written words. the girl looks at them with a mildly disappointed expression.
the drawing only reads three periods/dots, "..."
"i don't know," is written across the page by itself.
"but reading what they said feels like confirming doubts in my head," the drawing shows the girl looking at the comment once more, her expression sad, and reflective.
"the doubts saying they aren't real," the drawing depicts the girl standing, her arm awkwardly placed on her opposite arm. behind her are looming shadows, intended to be the other alters in the system she is apart of. they only have mildly distinguishing features, such as eyes, hair, and jawlines.
"but," the drawing stays the same, only the shadows behind the girl have begun to fade, and her eyes have closed.
"would that mean that i'm not real, either?" the shadows behind the girl are nearly invisible now, and she is looking at her hands in fear as she, too, is starting to fade.
"i'm just as 'made up' as the rest of them." the shadows behind the girl are gone now, and she has faded more, but is still visible.
"and i know my own thoughts, and values, worries, fears." the drawing only shows the girl sitting against a wall now, fully visible.
"hopes, dreams." there are two small drawings coinciding with each word. "hopes" depicts the girl petting with and smiling at a dog, who is wagging its tail and looking up at her happily. "dreams" depicts the girl with a cheerful, excited expression, a graduation cap on her head.
"and i know my dread every time i glance at the mirror," the drawing depicts the girl looking at a mirror, although the focus is on the front of her, so the mirror is not entirely visible. her expression is tired.
"at a body that isn't, and will never be, mine." the drawing now shows the mirror. in the mirror is the same pose as the girl, however the person in the mirror looks entirely different, with much shorter hair and different accessories.
"a body that i am trapped inside." the drawing shows the body that was in the mirror, covered in chains and tightly holding itself. there is a frown on its face.
"a body that i will never get to make my own." the drawing now shows a table with various items on top. one is a mannequin head with a wig over it, reminiscent of the protagonist girl's hair. beside it are a few items: an eye-shadow palette, an eyeliner pen, fishnet gloves, bracelets, and a toothbrush labelled "S".
"a body that i share with several others, who want to make a home out of it just as much as me." the drawing appears to be zoomed out. it still shows the items from before, but the table has extended to reveal two more "sets" of items. one shows another mannequin head with a different wig, with other makeup supplies and a stack of folded clothes, as well as a different toothbrush. the other shows a beanie hat with makeup supplies and astrology-themed folded clothes, as well as another pair of fishnet gloves, and another toothbrush.
"...part of me wants to listen to that stranger." the drawing only shows the girl's hand on the computer mouse from before.
"to stop trying to make sense of it and hope it just goes away." the drawing shows the girl holding a phone. the phone displays a pop-up requesting the confirmation of deleting an app. it only shows the app icon, an "&" ampersand symbol.
"but it's been nearly 8 years of being aware of some of our symptoms," the drawing shows the girl, looking down at the phone with a frown. a tear is falling down her cheek.
"and 2 years since finally accepting a label we'd been avoiding for nearly 5." the drawing shows a phone with an array of messages. most of them are illegible except for one, which shows a date, "january of 2022", and a message that reads, "i think i might have OSDD-1b."
"...we got our first fakeclaim today." the drawing shows the same close-up of the computer screen from the beginning of the post, with the fakeclaim comment depicted on it.
"I'm sorry, stranger," the drawing now shows an even more close-up of the screen, the mouse icon hovering over a delete button for the fakeclaim comment.
"i wish i were faking, too." is written across the screen by itself. the post ends.

“Americans believe in big portions! That’s so crazy.” Look at this European getting scammed into paying for 100 calories worth of food. Fool. Idiot. You wish you could have this 16 ounce Big Gulp and this serving of rice I will eat off for three days but you can’t. Cope and seethe.

It is inherently fun and sexy to say statements that swap the traditional genders of pronouns and terms mid-statement, such as: "I'm going to make him my wife" "She's my boyfriend" "Who says a guy can't be a pretty princess?" "That girl's the coolest dude I've ever met" "She's a madman who has to be stopped" "It's not his fault he's a material girl" Gender is a set of watercolors and the prettiest shades come from mixing the paints together.

You got an ask earlier about your feelings on homosexuality, and now my curiosity is spiked. How are your feelings on the rest of the LGBT+/queer community? So many people skim over the T in that acronym, though you have written trans women before if I remember correctly (thinking of Sandman specifically)

I think I’m incredibly lucky that, for the last 28 years, one of my best friends has been a lesbian trans woman: she introduced me to, and opened my eyes to, several communities that I would never have encountered that early in my life without her. I’m glad that Sandman meant that people who might otherwise have never met me felt impelled to get in touch, or empowered to change their lives, and that many of those people have become friends over the years.

I think I’m blessed to have a queer daughter and a bi wife. And I like living in countries where the rainbow spectrum of people is celebrated.

The kids on TikTok think that just because he was a classic country singer, Johnny Cash was conservative??? My babies he covered a Nine Inch Nails song in his seventies.

Classic country singers (the majority of which came from poor roots) were always talking about how much The Man sucked because they were taking money from poor rural folk. You’re gonna tell me that’s conservative?? Get outta here.

have intentionally distanced themselves from their source

have an "embarrassing" or "cringy" source

really love their source

feel like they're too different from their source

really miss their source world, family, and friends

theres no right or wrong way to be a fictive, just be yourself and you're doing more than enough. ♡
