Whens The Update That Fixes The Multiple Chronic Illnesses Bug 😔

whens the update that fixes the multiple chronic illnesses bug 😔

I truly think the human body should have some kind of source code that prevents a person from developing more than one chronic illness and/or mental illness

I can handle one (1) at a time but when all of them are flaring up at the same time? That's a great way to push me into a breakdown of despair.

Like my legs and back and neck and shoulders hurt badly today, my narcolepsy has me exhausted and brain-foggy but I'm in too much pain to sleep, and I've got the symptoms I get a few hours before a migraine develops. And I don't have meds for ANY of these things anymore because of many reasons simplified down to: most of my doctors don't listen to me and the ones that do are now a 2 hour drive away.

And I've been on the verge of tears for days which has me suspecting my period is right around the corner and I swear to god if I get my typical endometriosis-excruciating-pain-cramps on top of EVERYTHING ELSE today, I might hurt myself or someone else. I'm at my fucking limit.

And I want to cry to like, "honor my feelings" (can't think of a better way to put it), but crying will make my migraine come on faster and make my muscles hurt worse so I'm just stuck here.

anyone who thinks health issues end with walking out of the hospital doors, massive reality check for ya. there is no clocking out of chronic illness or disability.

surgery does not cure everything, medication does not cure everything. hospital cannot cure everything.

the amount of people in my life who believe that when i go to hospital, i will be discharged cured or symptom free is astonishing to me.

most of these people have known me long enough to have seen me through multiple hospital admissions and every time they come back to this way of thinking even though its never happened.

if invulnerable means i dont feel the affects of my chronic illnesses, then i would probably do something super cool and crazy.

id clean my house.

30 whole minutes a month of pain/fatigue free cleaning??? do you know what i could accomplish??? id be unstoppable. maybe id also do a cartwheel or smth for funsies

If you could become immortal and invulnerable for 30 minutes once every month (it has to be all at once, you can't chop the time into smaller segments and use minutes separately), what fuckery would you commit?

why arent more able bodied people fighting for disability advocacy?

see disabled people as humans, as peers, as equals.

we deserve access to everything you do. we deserve the chance to have a happy and comfortable life just as you do.

dont push us out of sight and out of mind.

we do not deserve that. we are equals.

I hate how often some (typically abled) people will go “well, if you can’t [get a specific support], then what?” when it comes to disabilities. As if it’s a “gotcha” moment. And then act like you’re exaggerating when you answer that question honestly.

Disabled people often die from a lack of support. A lot of disability aids are not a luxury, but a basic need in order to live.

“Well what happens if—” people die. People hurt themselves. People hurt others. Disabled people don’t magically become abled if our needs aren’t met.

If a bedbound quadriplegic is caught in a housefire, and there’s nobody there to save them, they’ll probably die. They won’t magically become able-bodied out of sheer will.

If a nonspeaking/nonverbal autistic is denied access to alternative methods of communication, they’ll suffer in silence. They won’t spontaneously become capable of speech.

Disabled people are disabled all the time. Our disabilities don’t go away just because they’re inconvenient, or if we’re in danger.

i feel like rewording these in some situations could be helpful.

the way that these are often phrased makes them automatically worded negatively: “still” “un-employed” “doesnt” “didnt” it all assists in the effect of the insult, when none of these things are inherently negative or wrong.

this isnt to say you should have to reword these facts. but you can, if you want to start re-scripting the way people see your life, possibly including yourself.

saying just, “i live with my family.” instead of “still” implies it as more of a statement than a complaint. also saying “family” instead of “parents” may help in some situations as it puts you all on the same level, saying parents makes some people think you are being childish, when in fact you are all adults.

when it comes to “unemployed.” its a bit tricky. if you are searching for work, you can easily just switch it out for “im searching for employment.” or if you are studying instead say that. but if you are like me - where neither of the above apply, you can try things like “im working on my health.” or “im trying to discover my passions.” etc.

“doesnt have …” or “didnt do …” can easily be changed to “i chose my health” “i chose a different path” or “it wasnt right for me.” these are all options to switch it from something you failed at, to the thing that you prioritised or can do instead.

Can we stop using "still lives with their parents" or "unemployed" or "doesn't have a drivers license" or "didn't graduate high school" as an insult or evidence that someone is a bad person? Struggling with independence or meeting milestones is not a moral failing.

I painted these way back during the pandemic (hence the hoard of toilet paper and Switch that I wish I had, but they were all sold out) No pandemic now but the chimney smoke from all the neighbors have made the air unbreathable and I'm stuck inside again 😭 cuddling my dog, drinking tea

My “my songs” 🎀🎧

“my songs” are songs where you go “this song is for me it is mine.”

people can have the same “my songs” that doesn’t make them any less yours, they’re just also someone else’s mine.

its just songs that get you on another level, songs that represent you!

THIS THANK YOU.

I don't want to ask AI a question. I don't want AI to write my sentences for me, at all ever. I don't want AI search bars to be the default and I don't want them to be in such a way that I can't opt out. I don't want this kind of AI in my life and there is no such thing as AI art, there is only theft of art from human artists by AI scrapers. I don't want any of this, I hate it. Maybe in a world that isn't driven by tech bro capitalism we can see machines doing all the dangerous inane things so humans can be free to pursue life and creativity. But that's not what's happening right now and I hate it.
