reeve being anxious about one thing or another but vincent and cid (and yuffie and shelke, sometimes) are always there to help him

always catching when he's overthinking something

dragging him away from wro hq to go out with them for dinner

being with him after some sort of scare, so he knows they're all okay

helping him get through panic attacks, if and when he has them

yuffie sends him updates when she's away in wutai, or on a mission

shelke updates reeve on cid and vincent, since neither of them are technology experts, and she's with them all the time anyway.

cid likes to have reeve "help" him bake (reeve just sits there, and they talk, mostly.)

vincent takes naps on reeve when he's home, since reeve always seems to worry the most about vincent.

just imagining cid washing vincent's hair. vincent styling reeve's (STUPID) mullet. reeve bleaching cid's hair.

cid highwind but he has chronic pain and that's why he's so grumpy all the time because he wouldn't be able to go to space at all now.

according to the ff7 wiki, the WRO HQ is "to the east of the ruins of midgar".

according to "the kids are alright: a turks side story" edge is "to the east of the ruins of midgar".

is the WRO HQ in edge??? it must be close, if not in the city, right??? and it's all vague, because we only ever see the WRO HQ in DoC, and Vincent does not pay attention to the geographical location, ig, bc we're just sort of at the building. and i guess i hope it was more on the outskirts, since it practically blows up from DG but like, obviously Reeve would've had it rebuilt after the events of DoC...

anyway im mostly thinking abt locations. is there a secret map somewhere??

do you guys think genesis and roche would get along? they're both theatrical SOLDIER members who have a niche (magic + motorcycles) and test themselves against their peers (sephiroth + cloud) to the point of self destruction...

update on rebirth hard mode: i hate that evil fish. terror of the deep?? who let it trap all 3 party members at once?? fuck that shit and shoutout to enemy skill plasma discharge on tifa, that shit saved my ass.

also i got to see one of my top 5 yuffie moments, where she waves and goes "thank you very much!" and barret mockingly goes, "you're welcome!" they're so dumb i love them. so found family core of them tbh.

after taking a 4 month break after beating the story, i am back on my rebirth grind for the plat (i'm going to go insane but i like platinum trophies.)

are other people making "hopes and dreams in part 3" bingo boards?? i was thinking about it and made a list of like 30+ things to put on the board (a LOT of them are definitely only dreams and won't happen but i thought of them and want them to happen so...)

if other people are, or have ideas, pleeease let me know i'm so curious what other people expect or hope for from part 3

i finished the game and I'M RIGHT! WHERE IS MY DoC FOUND FAMILY CONTENT??? i gotta do it myself (i was doing it already but was i nervous shelke was gonna die so i left her out just in case but she DOESN'T!)

started dirge of cerberus, here's my main takeaway so far:

reeve, cid, and vincent have two daughters, yuffie and shelke.

i just found out viceroy sarruf is implied to be rufus 😭 wdym they pulled a gerad again??? i wanted it to be someone completely unrelated but nooOOOo.

now that i'm about halfway through dirge of cerberus, i went back and replayed remake intergrade, chapter 2...

the thing that stuck out to me the MOST is that the deepground lackeys or whatever the hell you wanna call them are totally outfitted for long range combat when they fight yuffie and sonon. i also remembered WAY more members actually being there- but in all actuality you probably only see 20 or so members, including the ones nero murders (out of boredom or for power? another day.)

but they're all equipped with their stupid like, range enhancing helmets that would fucking impossible to see out of at short range (hello security officer helmet, but at least that thing doesn't cover their whole head.) and they're all wearing pants, which begs the question. was it just a small sample size (~20 members) or did they change the deepground uniforms in the three years inbetween remake intergrade and dirge of cerberus? 'cause they're totally wearing different outfits depending on their gender in dirge of cerberus- their thighs are OUT if they're women. but all pants in intergrade. did we only fight men, or was there an outfit change...?

also nero has split pupils (cat pupils? idk the right word) like sephiroth... is that just a jenova thing? if so, why don't more SOLDIERs have eyes like that??

recently discovered i am in a minority which is that reeve tuesti is genuinely one of my favorite final fantasy characters. why doesn't anyone like reeve 😭 where is my reeve content 😭

in honor of me finally recovering from this flare up (GRARGH.) i am inflicting my ache on vincent.

after literally 3 decades of practically hibernating, vincent likely had a lot of issues with aches and pains when moving too much- being active. his limits are hard for him to keep track of until he's past them, because they change on him quite often.

he finds that cold helps more than heat- it reminds him of the cold of the nibelheim manor. he doesn't necessarily like that aspect, but when he ends up settling with cid in rocket town, the cold up there is a comforting cold.

as kids, i imagine kain got in a lot of trouble. all three of them were little trouble makers, (i mean, c'mon. three kids running around a castle? they're bored.) but only kain ever got in trouble. it seemed obvious to the king and rosa's parents and cid (and basically all of the adults in their life) that kain coerced them into spending their time making mischief rather than dutifully training as they should've been.

obviously, this was not the case. have you met rosa? that girl was out and about as soon as she heard cecil and kain might've been exiled from baron. she headed straight for damcyan, even though her lack of experience with heat had her ill almost instantly. rosa acts first and thinks later- if she wanted to sneak out to the town during training, she was the one begging kain and cecil to help her.

and cecil, despite his almost-inability to actually tell someone "no", generally went along with it. he noticed early on that kain was taking the brunt of the blame, and tried to take some himself, but between kain's self sacrificial nature and the king of baron's favouritism, cecil's attempts never held any water.

going back to the land of the feymarch is honestly really funny. every single npc there is just like "oh, hey rydia! nice to see you again!" or "rydia, is that you? who are all these losers you're with?" or "rydia, you're back! please don't leave!" or "rydia, rydia rydia".

except for like, two people, who told me "man, monsters are really acting out of turn in your world" to which i was like, "yeah, they really are, huh?" and the other person who was like "this is the library. maybe you should go study," to which i was like "DAMNNN that's CRAZY" but to be fair the king and queen were down there and i was looking for them so maybe that was some sort of code???

idk i'm mostly joking but i do think it's nice how rydia got to be a part of this community since cecil and kain kind of blew up her original one. like she gets all of these people to recognize her and be excited for her return to their village and whatnot.

i'm reading the kids are alright: a turks side story and there's a bit where the turks have decided to look for jenova again, but there's a lot of interference from the people from edge, so when kyrie canaan gets attacked, tseng goes to check on her (and sort of kidnap her... dw about it), but she has a conversation with kadaj of all people and when i tell you tseng was freaking out.

"Opposite her was a teenage boy with silver hair and a well-structured face- and Tseng immediately felt his heart rate increase. He bore far too strong a resemblance to that infamous Shinra Company creation. Maybe it's just the silver hair, Tseng tried to tell himself, but the piercing eyes, too, called him to mind. A man once hailed as a hero who later tried to destroy the world.

"The memory of facing Sephiroth and all his fury came rushing back- being cut down, left for dead. It was all the Turk could do to stop his limbs from trembling as he looked the boy in the eye."

like DAMN. tseng is one of the most stoic, put together people in this universe- to get the information that from his point of view, sephiroth renders him terrified?? that's fucked.

sometimes i think about how similar celes from ffvi and sephiroth from ffvii are. both of them were genetically engineered people with the intent of their creation to help take over the world.

but celes' "father" was kind, and she was younger, had more hope, and took the chance to escape from the gestahlian empire. she rebelled, was locked up, and immediately was rescued by locke. she also knew from her birth that she was different, created with this ability to manipulate magic that had faded from the human race.

sephiroth's father on the other hand was not so kind. keeping him in the lab, putting him on the frontlines of a war as a teen, and building up his cautionary, defensive personality. encouraging him to self-isolate, encouraging him to be. alone. when shit hit the fan, sephiroth's hope of a loving mother, a happy family, an escape? it was gone. to learn he wasn't exactly human, while his friends he'd been told not to make died left and right? it's easy to see why they took different turns.

but still- celes' escape from her past tells me that in another timeline, sephiroth could've made it out too.

when cid returns with the enterprise to save everyone, he doesn't say a word to kain. he mostly talked to rosa and cecil, but he says *something* to rydia, addressing her presence. he says absolutely nothing to kain.

coincidence or not, cid sacrifices himself not a moment later with that bomb. coincidence or not, cid was their guardian- a consistent prescence in all three of the knight's lives. to avoid addressing kain at all? as if kain hadn't provided them with valuable information of the underworld at all, as if he hadn't shown his sorrow. as if kain hadn't repented enough for cid.

personally, i think that's part of why his mental barriers were weakened, and he couldn't repluse the "mind control" later on.

how awful do you think cecil felt when kain disappeared in mist? after accidentally annihilating an entire village, the guilt was already flooding in, let alone when he realized he personally dealt with rydia's mother. then the one person he had in the moment to rely on slides away in an earthquake that he definitely also could blame himself for (this is the most anxiety ridden man i've ever seen. he most definitely blames himself for that.) and is left with rydia, whom he dutifully takes care of, even though she hates him with all her guts (at the time).

imagine the self loathing, thinking that he condemned someone he loved to a death between stone and ash, thinking he could have prevented all of it if he'd simply had the guts to tell the king of baron "no". or investigated the ring he'd been instructed to deliver further. or anything else. but he didn't have time to dwell on it, because he needed to protect rydia, and that was his fault too.

rewatched advent children (complete) recently and it really just makes me so sad for kadaj. i mean, loz and yazoo don't even feel like people in the way that kadaj does- they don't have the sass and snark of sephiroth, they don't command a room the way that sephiroth does. but all kadaj wanted was to be loved. he wanted to be wanted, and his creation led him to believe he could only be loved by jenova (who is incapable of love) by becoming sephiroth, by becoming someone else entirely. kadaj is not sephiroth, he is a remnant of who jenova made sephiroth into. he isn't even a remnant of who sephiroth truly was- of the man that angeal and genesis and zack and lazard and glenn and matt and lucia got to know. kadaj likely doesn't know who any of these people are- because jenova didn't care about who sephiroth was, only his power as her puppet, her pawn. kadaj was never going to get what he wanted, and that fucking sucks.

i bet rosa hated. (hated!) being treated like she was weak, for being a white mage. that she spent her teenage years proud and ready to serve, just like cecil and kain, but was always shunted to the backline and protected, despite the fact that she could protect herself. that being kidnapped by golbez and being forced to be a damsel in distress drove her insane. that she wanted to protect cecil and kain just as much as they wanted to protect her- maybe even more.

i imagine for christmas that kain and cecil have a hard time with gifts. not giving gifts, but being able to accept them from each other (and rosa). like, they'd be those people that are like, "oh, no, don't get me anything this year," or "i'll just be happy with seeing you," which are nice sentiments and all, but rosa's love language is absolutely gift-giving (and acts of service, but that's a different comversation).

so eventually they have to have some sort of conversation that's like "you deserve gifts, i want to get you gifts, i don't feel pressured to get you gifts, i want you to appreciate them, etc. etc." and yknow im just thinking about that

So I tried something new to see if it would put less stress on my arm and got this together in a couple of days while experimenting. I luv u miss Aerith TwT
