Is anyone else yearning for more for more Janet and Yuri friendship in season 3? I mean the pottery, Janet saying she will show Yuri how to make things not reset, him asking if she needs back up?!?
AHHHHH FIRST FEW EPISODES OF SCHOOL SPIRITS SEASON 2 RELEASES TODAY (this is my equivalent of a holiday)
minor spoilers for s2 ep7 regarding Mr. M and Janet
Was not expecting Mr. Martin being Janet's key to be canon 👀 In the long fic I'm currently outlining, I had come up with my own timeline of events (a mix of canon and hcs) in which I wrote that Janet was holding onto Mr. Martin when she/they died... am I psychic or what? jkjk
I'm a little worried about what's going to happen in the last episode/when the truth of what actually happened in the fire is revealed.
Also, I really want to write this long fic but school is swamping me 😭
Although School Spirits is rated as TV-M, it isn't too graphic or dark in certain aspects (except for the obvious death/murder). It's considered a supernatural teen drama, but can you imagine if there was a darker aspect to the spirits' deaths? the little things from each of their deaths that linger with them in limbo?
On the rare occasions when Wally's quiet, people can hear the sound of bone grinding against bone when he swivels his head.
Sometimes Charley speaks with a rasp, his voice laced with a wheeze like he can't really breathe.
Rhonda will occasionally bleed from her head, the fabric of her hat dented and matted with a dark spot. Don't stand too close, you might see the bruising underneath her turtleneck that eerily looks like a hand.
The smell of smoke, singed hair, and skin linger around Mr. Martin and Janet. There are times when they don't speak much, their throat itchy and tired from coughing due to smoke inhalation. Blink and you might miss the pink rashes and blisters that appear on their skin.
Periodically, Quinn and the band kids have road-rashed band uniforms, their instruments bent/dented, and shards of glass embedded in their skin and clothes.
This one's more lighthearted: The sound and faint feeling of buzzing grow the closer you stand next to Dawn. If given the chance, she can shock the other ghosts by poking them; she giggles when they flinch.
Will revisit when Yuri's death is revealed :(

A fic set in the aftermath of 02x08 where Janet tries to reintegrate back into the ghost gang after everything that happened and how it’s not all rainbows and sunshine and easy because people are messy is calling my name
I think it’s still weird that Janet and Mr. Martin slow danced on her very last day with the other ghosts. And it’s also weird that Mr. Martin said his watch belongs to her, that it’s a symbol.

Doing a season 2 rewatch for the first time since the season ended. Do we know who came to the Hamilton Grandmother’s house when Janet was squatting there and why Janet burned the house down?

School Spirits Episode 8 Thoughts
This is sooo long and in no particular order but I NEED to talk about this show with someone i’m going feral.
1) okay If you told me last season that Xavier would be one of my favorite characters I would’ve laughed in your face. But the way he just waved at Maddie’s dad at the end and was like “oh yeah btw I met your dead dad” was absolutely king behavior. He’s so dumb and I love him.
2) I am really hoping Wally did not cross over?? He said in season one he didn’t want to go like Dawn and he wanted a chance to say goodbye. I can’t give up the ghosts found family yet.
3) I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS SO DANGEROUS ABOUT THIS SCHOOL. WHY WERE THE LIGHTS RED!??! WHAT IS MR. MARTIN SO AFRAID OF!?!! I love a good mystery and I feel like I have nothing to go off of on this. Please share any theories. Like yes, Mr. Martin, I am and have been wondering why so many people die at this school for two whole seasons! Please tell me!
4) I feel like Simon and Maddie will kinda switch places in season 3? I’m guessing Maddie will be able to Simon, and Simon is stuck in the ghost world (for some reason?) so…
5) I feel like we have escaped the possibility of ahh of the new ghosts betraying the gang, but @/amphibiafanatic on TikTok brought up the point that Quinn is not one of the band kids named in season 1. I was rewatching with a friend yesterday and also thought it was weird, but didn’t think anything of it until they mentioned that Yuri was mentioned in S1 so they obviously had plans for these characters, and why not just make Quinn’s name one of the mentioned kids?
6) I think this is a pretty common idea, but I really don’t think the exit doors lead to the ghosts truly crossing over. If there really is something wrong with this school, these exits doors seem fairly suspicious.
7) The boxes with the clues that were sent to the influences had a note saying there was one final box. My fingers are crossed that it’s a box announcing a season 3? They seem to have been pretty public about how successful this season was, and awesomenessTV seems pretty involved with all the press release and cast posts for them not to renew it?
8) Charley still has no last name. 🥲
9) Janet. Oh Janet. I love you so.
10) we’re not gonna talk about the mess I was when Maddie was saying goodbye. I can’t do goodbyes. I’ve never made it through a found family goodbye without sobbing my eyes out. This one was sooo rough for me gang.
Anyways, I really enjoyed the finale although I really wish we wrapped up a little bit more. I know the point of this season was for Maddy to get her body back, which was accomplished, but I feel like I have a lot more questions than I did at the end of season one!
Rewatching S1 after finding out that the lights flickering means someone entered their scar is SICKENINGGGGGG!!

Look I know we’re not getting shit with the episode count now a days but obsessed with flashbacks to the people the ghosts loved in life. Like let them haunt the narrative PLEASE
Janet whose father spirals, always thinking of how he could have saved her if he forced her to stop. Getting worse and worse, doubling down on his beliefs even as he crumbles. Her brother, forced into the role she dreamed of. Knowing that every step he takes leaves her bloody footprints behind him. How she feels so forgettable but her shadow has been at every one of her family’s shoulder for decades. Her father dying at the hand of incompetence and feeling her fingers dig into his flesh knowing she would have been great. That his faith in a twisted falsity won’t forgive him. The eyes in the fire burn their skin and scorch their pride.
Rhonda who so clearly left love behind. Her best friend seeing her in every blur in her peripheral. How the lyrics turn acidic in her mouth, how she hears a snort and “seriously, cherry pop?” every time but her voice is so, so hoarse. How the gravel in her own burns like hands on her own skin. Rhonda who stuck her classmates to the core. It had to be her fault, had to be, or else it could be them. Or it could be theirs. Rhonda who is swept away but holds an iron grip on their shoulders. Who watches over every failure with the surety that she would have been better. Her parents, crushed under the loss of the only good thing they ever did. Marjorie’s voice lingers and generations feel her fingers over their throat; a lost mystery that drags them forward.
Wally being the fragility of their own lives. Untouchable and above it all, dying in an instant with a broken neck and the promises he was made. The future they were so sure he had, the way he could have made it. But no one knew him. Every story is empty, every memory wrong, he’s forgotten even with a thousand retellings and a blaring stadium named after him. His mother standing in the moment he had. Lost in a split second loop even as decades move past her. How he moves on before they do, haunting because of what they lost in him and no one remembering what he lost for himself. A life lived and mourned for others.
Charley who was swept under the rug. Who no one wants to think of. Who makes them consider their cruelty, they humanity. Who died surrounded by people, knowing they coaxed him into death with kicks and laughs. How an accidental death with no murderer is still a trial of human cruelty. Emilio, aching for years at his own naivety, trying to be better, to make it better for the next Charley. Except Charley is always there (actually this time) and he still can’t hold on. Moving on and feeling every breath stolen from someone else’s lungs. How one boy meant nothing and said so much about people who never saw him. His parents, asked the question of would they rather a dead or gay son but knowing there was never a choice cause they were one and the same and maybe that’s their fault. Emilio holding his husband, seeing baby Charlie on the monitor, knowing a part of him will never not be 17.
Idk if any of this made sense but just give me the people left behind, let them have an impact. I’m losing my mind
