The definition of waking up and choosing violence
Fun history facts: One of the 31 people arrested at Stonewall on June 28th 1969 was American folk singer Dave Van Ronk, who was not at the Stonewall Inn at the time and was cis & straight as far as I'm aware. He'd been eating dinner at a nearby restaurant when he noticed a riot happening, said "Well I suppose I should go see what the fuss is about," stepped outside, and immediately started throwing bricks at the cops.
“It’s just a party, why do you have to bring everyone down with such depressing stuff :(((“
My brother in Christ, the rights of trans people, especially black trans women, in the U.S are in grave danger right now thanks to the ignorant and bigoted politicians that run our already corrupt government. People who want nothing more than to silence our voices because our mere existence alone makes them uncomfortable. If shutting down the voices of those who are actively suffering in the trans community because you want to make peace with heteronormative patriarchal society, a place that has never truly accepted us, or because you simply don’t want to acknowledge it is your idea of pride, then you are not an ally. You are part of the problem.
Pride was never meant to be silent. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
I. Am. Disgusted. SIGNAL BOOST this!! This is unacceptable! We need to remember what pride is and what we stand for.

They removed all Transgender references references from the Stonewall website.
It's not on Trans people to fix this. If we're not here for each other, what are we here for?
This doesn't stand with me. If it stands with you, you can leave this page and never return.
Get the word out. For Marsha. Let's become a problem.
"We do not have the responsibility of making gay life look good to straights so that they will accept us. I am not at all interested in promoting a cleaned up image to a straight world which is twice as corrupt and ten times as sick."

"Friend of Dorothy" explaination (History)
Stonewall Inn in YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN. 2019 Taylor performed at the bar to honor the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots.
Judy Garland starred in Wizard of Oz and the day she died precipitated the Stonewall Riot. Everyone was in the bar mourning her death and the cops knew Judy was a queer icon & decided easy pickings bc being gay was illegal. So they decided to arrest everyone inside Stonewall.
But instead of an arrest it turned into a Riot and it became a turning point in queer rights or "the hairpin drop heat ‘round the world". And that was the first Pride. (x)
e.g. Elton John used Wizard of Oz as a reference to try to tell people he is gay before formally coming out. (x)
I keep seeing reports of of yet another black trans woman having been murdered, first I was sad, now I’m pissed! How can I help? Does anyone know?
