So I realized while coloring Bessie I dont like how I draw heads, so Ive stopped designing her to practice a new artstyle.
My current progress with Bessie! Im not sure how I feel about her right now, but it's better than my other design I think :}
I just wanted to ramble about this; I hate the design I gave Bessie. Its fine, but It doesent really give off the vibe I want her to have. Also that hairstyle is 🤢
Also, I realized her backstory doesent make sense. Atleast not to me.
Trying to redesign her again, but she's being difficult so it might take a few days considering I also have to work and my motivation for drawing has been pretty bad for years (hence why I can only finish headshots)

Annabelles weapons along with a prototype for her shotgun parasol!
I like the concept that the tip of the gun's barrel acts like the tip of the parasol, and no one tends to notice it. The handle screws off and has a blade at the end of it. Both her knives and revolver are accessorized because of her obsession with tiny original details.
Annabelle 100% has muscle, her parasol is most definitely heavy due to the shotgun, so she needs said muscle to make it look like it's light.

Funfacts about Annabelle because she's rotted my brain:
Her last name before getting married was Moreau. Her family was known for their jewerly making business.
Annabelle and Bessie are close... well, she likes to think so. Annabelle is very attached to Bessie, seeing her as one of if not her most dearest friend. Bessie cares for Annabelle, but she is terrified of her and what she is capable of.
Annabelle does not get attached to people. Atleast not often. The few people she is attached to (Dutch, Hosea, Bessie, Arthur and John) all have one thing in common: they were all people she met years ago.
Annabelle was given the nickname 'Bloody Belle' once the tales of her robberies spread. Her robberies made some romanticize the idea of a life of crime, while others grew suspicious of all high class women and their 'true intentions'.
Annabelle has her clothing, jewerly, and weapons custom made, either by herself or someone she paid for a comission. She's obsessed with originality, and wants nothing of her style to be replicatable. To the point she kept her notebooks that held blueprints to her custom weapons(eg: her shotgun parasol) hidden at all times, and sometimes burned them.
When she wasnt out following or finding leads, she was at camp working on a new project, modifying shoes or weapons, or MAYBE helping the other women with chores. But that was highly unlikely, she despised doing chores and she contributed a lot with her successful robberies.
The one thing she never modified was her wedding ring. It didnt matter if a woman had the same ring, because it would never have the same meaning behind it.
So I got bored... Again.
My headcanon for Bessie is that She was an orphan who worked in the factories just to get by. She eventually had to quit her job in her 30s due to her health rapidly deteriorating, which led to her moving out into the middle of the woods. Her health made a recovery being away from the factory, and she started to write books about research she did on America's wildlife to get some money, but eventually decided to live a life constantly moving from one place to another, living off the land while documenting new things she discovered. She was especially interested in birds. I imagine one day She was just minding over own business at her campsite in the Grizzlies, when Hosea suddenly rides by, being chased by some bounty hunters. And Bessie offers to help hide him until the bounty hunters leave.
She wasnt in the best health, but she thrived out in the wilderness, away from society. And was the sweetest person to be around.
Hosea and Bessie were 100% the sweetest couple.... the sweetest couple who is very capable of either robbing you of everything you have or killing you.

My silly little headcanon is that Annabelle was from a rich, french family. But ran away to America at 16 when her family(mainly her father) was insistent she marry an old man of wealth, stealing a good chunk of her family's money before she left.
In America, Annabelle became infamous for her robberies. She'd dress like a woman of high standard, waltz into banks, hop on trains, stop stagecoaches, and act like any proper lady when announcing that she was infact robbing the place. And ofcorse when no one listened, they sure as hell will once they witness Annabelle blow someone's head off. Her main weapon of choice was a shotgun she built into a parasol to disguise it. But she had plenty of other weapons, such as a knife and revolver sitting in straps on her legs, a twist off mechanic for the parasol's handle that reveals another knife, her heels on her boots have razors embedded in the back, she was decked out at all times.
Annabelle found her success by defying society's standards when it came to women, and using it to her advantage.
Dutch and Annabelle Van Der Linde were a batshit insane couple, and I am here for it.
I like to imagine the worm we never see in TADC was named Bill. And he was like a major nihlist and believed life was completely meaningless. And has the raggedy voice of someone who's smoked for a couple years.
