Tone tags are not your punchline.
Tone tags like “/j” “/srs” etc are accessibility tools. They help neurodivergent people understand the explicit tone of written text that would otherwise be only implicit and therefore difficult for us to understand. If you use tone tags in a joking or disingenuous manner, you’re not only going to end up confusing a lot of people, but it’s also just plain ableist to make a joke out of an accessibility tool, something that a lot of us rely on to understand and communicate with people online.
Especially considering the whole point of tone tags is for them to be used in the most genuine, accurate manner possible, someone knowingly misusing them just means they’re doubling down on their ableist disregard for neurodivergent people who might read it.
If you post something somewhere as a joke but end it with a “/srs,” fix it. Delete it. Don’t do it again. Tone tags are not your punchline.
This disability pride month message brought to you by an autistic ADHDer

i hate when other people are funnier than me.
i seriously hate when someone is like “well xyx could be related to this mental illness or neurodivergence” and someone feels the need to come in like “well *I* have depression/adhd/am autistic/etc. and i shower consistently, am not messy, understand social cues, am great in school and work, and am overall a functional and ‘normal’ person so it’s no excuse uwu” literally shut the fuck up lmao
like what do you get by shitting on other neurodivergent ppl who struggle more than you do? of course having something like autism isn’t an excuse to do whatever you want with no regards to others, but it can explain why you struggle with other things more so than neurotypicals do. give us a little patience and understanding. don’t act like just because YOU can “overcome” your conditions it means the rest of us are not trying hard enough or are being lazy or whatever.
I’m so happy that a majority of the tua fandom love Viktor Hargreeves. However, seeing the few transphobes that are upset by Viktor’s transition is very funny—especially when they argue that it’s “unrealistic.”
My brothers in christ, this show contains children with super powers, time travel, a talking monkey, a half monkey man, a fucking magical CUBE, and so much more. A trans character is quite literally the most realistic part of this show.
I rewatched S1 and S2 of The Umbrella Academy for the tenth time, and I decided to keep track of how many times the characters said certain words
Instead of asking your SO where they wanna eat, try asking them, “Guess where I was going to take you to eat?” Their first response is usually where they wanna go. Works for gifts too.
anyway these are my favorite reviews so far

Fun little fact. It takes anywhere from five to six layers of dye and paint to achieve the star patterns on my adventure gear. ⭐
I’ve been thinking of doing a time-lapse of the process if people would be interested in seeing something like that?
Wishing you all a splendid Saturday, and a wonderful weekend. :)

Klaus telling Diego he "barely got out with his life" when Hazel and Cha-Cha tortured him back in S1 but now we know he probably actually did die a couple of times in the process and just CAME BACK TO LIFE WITHOUT EVEN REALISING ?? Klaus ?? 😭😭
Why is this so true tho 😩😂
Have you ever felt like there's something you're supposed to be doing, something important, but no one's telling you what it is, and you're scared that youre gonna miss out or... or.. mess it up because you're always screwin' things up, and you're really fuckin tired of it!
ive never felt a monologue so closely in my entire life
Tua s3 spoilers 🚨!!
So mad at the writers for not bringing in Dave this season. There were so many opportunities where they could've brought him back, even if it was when Klaus was in the afterlife/void. I don't know why they completely ignore this ship, but still gave other characters moments with their past love interest or even brought them back at the end. Overall I loved Klaus storyline this season, but the absence of Dave left a bitter taste and anger towards the writers.
I know that people have already been saying that Viktor’s coming out felt rushed and I know they might’ve done more with that if they hadn’t already had much of the scripts written by the time Elliot came out, but!
As a trans guy myself there’s something really nice about seeing a character tell family he’s trans and having them just be like okay cool and move on. The way that I have constantly had to explain myself to people in my life and constantly have seen trans people in media have to explain themselves is so exhausting.
So, sure, I can absolutely understand people feeling like it was kind of flat. But it’s also nice to have a trans character just get to *be*.
I haven't seen a warning for it going around so TUA S3 EP10, a warning for trypophobia at about the 32:30 mark and a quicker moment at about 34:20

Here’s to the people with disabilities that aren’t talked about often. People who don’t see tumblr posts about their disability or cute buttons about their disability or infographics about their disability or even the slightest scrap of representation. People who have several disabilities or a disability with a name that they can’t pronounce. I see you. We exist.

Musing on what we get to see of the Umbrella mothers, I have some thoughts. I wonder if the mothers were shown as deliberate reflections of their children?
Luther’s Mother. A confident business lady, giving or about to give a presentation. She shows leadership, confidence (that dress folks, YES), poise. Professional strength and intelligence. All things that Luther has aspired for.
Diego’s Mum. Shown in the home, preparing a meal. A home maker, caring, love language presumably acts of service. A reflection on how Diego always seems to have wanted to be a real family, with real connnections and care. His closeness with Mom/Grace. Also, knife skills.
Allison’s Mother - a teacher. And if my memory serves me, teaching geography/geology with a diagram of the earth’s layers on the chalkboard. A nurturer who works with youths/children, and who has the power to inspire and change lives with her words.
Klaus’ Mother - Amish. The simple, self-sufficient and religious life doesn’t seem a good fit at first glance, but when you look a little deeper I think there’s some parallels. Religion/Spirituality/Mediumship/literal crossing to the other side are all linked beneath the surface. And the self sufficient life style - Klaus has never really gone without. Whatever he has thought he needed or wanted (materialistically) he has been able to get, one way or another. He’s adaptable, a charmer, he always lands on his feet.
Five’s mother, the butcher. A professional who can get the job done, isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, but can work with precision. Ability to separate emotions from the job at hand. Also, excellent blade skills and good understanding of anatomy. A good parallel to Five’s ruthless fighting style and the professional pride he took in his assassination work.
Ben’s schoolgirl mom. Young, really starting to explore life, with years and years ahead of her. Too young to be thrust into motherhood, such a momentous change, regardless of the instantaneous nature of it. A reflection or mirror to her son, who was beginning to explore life outside of the academy and died too young.
Viktor’s mother. The aspiring olympic swimmer who wanted to rise above ordinary and compete with the extraordinary - something Viktor longed for for most of his life and formed a huge part of the S1 arc, and really still influences Viktor even in S3.
Actually screaming on the inside at how they basically told queerphobes and exclus to please fuck off and explicitly included us aspecs even beyond aesthetics like the pride flags and nail polishes
