HI HELLO IM BACK WITH CHUUYA HEADCANON

Ok I imagine Chuuya is obsessed with music. And not like a specific genre he just in general really likes music. Listen to all sorts of genres, foreign music, you name it he's heard of it and probably likes it (pretty sure the only exception would be the rappers that just talk really fast or mumble random stuff into a mic). Like he has this secret wish to get an electric guitar and learn how to play it. He also probably has one of those online sites to compose with. (I bet you Koyou bought him a synth machine for his b-day or something once she figured out Chuuya has a passion for it. She would've bought him a nice program to go with it too) When he gets super emotional since he is also emotionally constipated like Dazai he will make music based off of it. At first he cared if it sounded good but now he doesn't and just makes music as a stress reliever and a fun hobby outside of work. Oh also he has a great singing voice secretly. Once Dazai learned about that and his little hobby Chuuya would get teased non stop about becoming a professional one day.

Please this came to me so randomly but I now have the headcanon that Dazai likes to draw. Not like full on pieces or artworks but he likes to doodle randomly. In the margins of his paperwork you'll see small sketches or doodles of things like the sign for bar lupin, the pen on his desk, just small little things he remembers or is looking at. Also he has a small sketchbook that is really just a re-purposed notebook (Kunikida probably gave the notebook to him to solve his 'fish like memory issues'(he was just ignoring heads up for meetings, deadlines, etc.)) where Dazai will just sketch things that look more similar to full on pieces that he uses as a way to vent cause God is he emotionally constipated.

Edit: I just realized Chuuya would DEFINITELY tease dazai about his doodles. If he found of Dazai has a secret portrait drawing of him... well, Dazai is never gonna hear the end of it

What if Atsushi knows sign language?? Like in the orphanage the kids would use it to communicate sometimes without the staff knowing, so even if Atsushi wasn't involved he gradually learned sign language to find out where to sneak food, good hiding spots if something happens, and how to get away easily if you do something. He knows how to sign fast too cause the kids would cut deals with Atsushi that if he used the fact that he was much scrawnier than the other kids to do something, then they would split something, mostly food though. So he can sign fast, fluently, and easily understand it even if it's rushed or unclear to most.

Nikolai is the type to own a furby and just skin the bastard. Why? Because he wanted to. He would then leave the skinless monstrosity in someone’s room. (Probably Sigma’s) and just watch the poor victim panic as the furby begins speaking in a demonic voice.

After Dazai is back in the ADA, he moves in with Atsushi and Kyouka for some time to heal his injuries.

They become really close with each other during that time. Watching movies together, going to amusement parks where Kyouka dries their wallets eating ice-cream and crepes, having hot pot, Oden and Chasuke almost every day to soothe their souls.

Dazai gets better immediately but he still pretends to be sick because he likes this little family they have made and he had never truly been a part of something like this before. A relationship where he doesn't have to worry about making plans and schemes. He can just relax with the kids and forget he has any problems or issues for some time.

Atsushi and Kyouka find Dazai eccentric with his bad dad jokes and some surprisingly good advice; he has a big personality but that balances their introversion and makes them more open. His presence is comforting to them.

In the end none of them ever speak about Dazai moving out and they just go on with their dangerous lives, knowing they can go back in the night to a place called home.

Dazai: do you guys ever think about dying?

Kyouka: sometimes

Atsushi: can we not talk about that at 2 AM when we are trying to sleep?

Dazai: I was just wondering how it will be like after death

Kyouka: I think death is better than torture

Dazai: do you remember the Port Mafia torture method where they half kill you to make you face death and then make you beg for your lives?

Kyouka: the one with the barrels? I think hanging upside down is much worse...

Atsushi: can we stop fucking talking about THIS and go to SLEEP????

Dazai, gasping: how can you swear in front of Kyouka-chan! That gives her bad manners!

Atsushi: YEAH, you two can talk about fucking dying and torture, but I can't swear? You've gotta be shitting me.

Dazai: ......

Kyouka: yeah, Atsushi swears a lot when he is mad. He learnt that in the orphanage

concept:

aroace chuuya who comes off as really rude and flippant when it comes to people flirting with him but in reality he just does not get it and thinks the flirting person is just getting too personal and weird and rude

aroace chuuya who loves the concept of dimly lit dinner dates but like, platonic, and doesn't understand why people assume he's the flirty type because of his love of fine wine, he doesn't see the correlation

aroace chuuya with extreme sex repulsion because he values the privacy of having his body to himself so much he refuses to allow anyone else to change things or do things to it, even intimately, because he associates any sort of anything so connected to his body with the abuse of his past as an experiment even though it's not related

aroace chuuya.

Doing my usual "lets go back and read random BSD chapters" and I can't help but notice how different Fyodor is now to when he was first introduced.

I've made a few posts pointing out how Fyodor and Dazai have similar panels, but I'm starting to think he's actually mimicking Dazai's mannerisms on purpose now.

I don't have a lot of canon proof other than, ~a feeling~, I get looking at him, so consider this a headcanon rather than a theory.

Warning Manga spoilers under the cut!

Like, Fyodor, why does this keep happening??? Fyodor's versions of these poses also all happen later in the manga than Dazai's versions.

Now, there's the argument that Fyodor wasn't there for half of these, but we do know he's a hacker and he was obsessed with Dazai for a time. I do believe he would just sit there watching Dazai's movements on cameras to learn his patterns and habits in the name of defeating him.

Compare how he holds himself now, to how he did when he was first introduced.

He's a shut in who bites his nails, doesn't take care of his posture or appearance. He's so used to being behind the curtains he's off putting to be directly around.

Whereas Dazai is a chameleon, he blends in anywhere he goes. If I was an immortal so out of touch with my own humanity and basic identity, I probably pick someone to mimic their behaviours too.

Ironic that he choose the man who doesn't consider himself human to learn from.

I'm also drawn to this panel specifically.

(Very suspicious choice of words there, considering the current manga arc, but I digress)

Typically when we think of vampires, we think of blood sucking immortals, but the vampire we have in BSD is based of Dracula. Dracula specifically poses the question of "What if vampires stole who you are as well?". The idea that you can't consume someone's very life without having their soul linger on with you.

The Count learns to blend in with modern society through Johnathan, from learning from him and by feeding off him. Mina, Renfield and Lucy all slowly lose who they are the more influence the Count has over them.

This panel says he's soulless, he's 'empty', he's a vampire waiting to steal someone else's soul to fill him up. Now, that could be a hint at what his ability turned out to be, but it could also mean how he's mimicking Dazai.

But why mimic Dazai?

Well, simply put, he was the only one Fyodor saw as an equal and we know he wanted a companion who he considered to be his equal. So why not make himself more like the man he wants at his side. To obtain Dazai, he became Dazai.

Problem is Dazai hates himself, he also seems to dislike any character that's convinced they are the same. (Note: Not characters Dazai sees himself in, like Atsushi, but characters who insist to him that they are the same, like Mori and Fyodor)

It was a doomed plot from the start.

However, Dazai is no longer his goal. Atsushi is. Fyodor knows Atsushi greatly admires Dazai, so continuing to mimic Dazai's mannerisms to connect them together in Atsushi's mind could be part of his plan now.

Last year I made a post headcanoning that Chuuya was the one to bring Kajii into the mafia after the Laughing Lemon incident and now I am back with evidence.

It's tradition in the Port Mafia to give a new recruit an article of your own clothing when inviting them into the mafia. Famous example being Mori gives Dazai his coat, and Dazai gives Akutagawa his coat in turn.

So with that in mind, if Chuuya brought Kajii in, he would have given him something as well. Only Kajii 5'11" and Chuuya is 5'2", so Chuuya's clothes wouldn't exactly fit Kajii.

But do you know what they both wear?

That's right! Stupid fashion belts that serve no actual purpose!
