Another rant.

In a sense I do believe that Snow did love Lucy Gray, but I saw this tiktok talk about how it isn't a love story, it's a tragedy. I have to agree, because Snow was given so many chances to choose the good path, he had people that genuinely believe in him. Tigris, Lucy Gray and Sejanus but Snow is so emotionally stunted and not willing to progress. (At least from my view that's what I concluded)

So many times throughout the book I caught myself smiling or laughing at something he said. And I literally would be like "wtf" but Suzanne Collins is such a genius writer like that, and like a broken clock I'll repeat, she wrote this book so well that, I was genuinely forgetting that this young man will become a man I will hate and wish death upon.

Reading the original trilogy as a pre-teen I never truly understood the gravity of Snow's evil and watching the movies again recently with context from the book, made so many little actions and lines hold more weight.

I hate over-analysing books because of English in school, but books like this remind me why I love to read and get lost in worlds that are are different but the same.

I'm rambling but this book and this whole franchise has been on my mind for a while and I need a creative outlet.

imagine you, satoru, suguru and mei getting assigned to exorcise a curse at this “haunted house”. you guys arrived, and you didn’t expect it to be quite huge, so you decided it was better to split up.

“satoru, you and mei check upstairs. suguru and i will check the basement.” before you can say anything more, satoru leans over your shoulder and whispers “y/nnn…” your eyes widen, and you immediately know what he wants. “oh no, right, suguru, you and mei check upstairs. satoru and i’ll check the basement.” you flash an innocent smile at the two who just stare at you.

suguru narrows his eyes at the both of you and mutters “gross.” before turning away and walking upstairs. meanwhile, mei flashes you a smile, following suguru.

satoru presses you against the wall and kisses you with force. “satoru…” you pant, his lips trailing down your jaw towards your neck. “are y-you sure this is a g-good idea?” you hum as he sucks on a particular spot behind your ear. “i-it’s kinda creepy down h-here.” you look around the abandoned basement, dust and cobwebs all over. “it’s fine, baby," he says in between kisses. “don’t worry, your pretty little head.” his kisses trail even further down.

“i’ve got you," he says, his piercing blue eyes looking up at you as he’s on his knees, lifting your leg over his shoulder.

He didn't.

i'm still not sure how i feel about any of tsh characters because all this time Julian was manipulating the greek class, the og class was manipulating Richard and he was manipulating us, the readers, so can we believe anything that was said in this book anymore?

I don't ship kevjean not because its not there but because its been destroyed. I believe Kevin loved him back but knew it was a horrible idea, he saw what Riko did to Jean. He knew what it would cost them and so he ignored it, but now that they are both out, its too late. They have hurt each other way too much. They are starcrossed lovers, doomed by the narrative. They love each other just as much as they hate each other. It was real in every way they could never have.
