If turtles can live from 10 to possibly hundreds of years then how long would the teenage mutant ninja turtles live for no matter which iteration it is?
Would it be the same for their species? Would it be the equivalent of the age in human years? Would it be half a turtles age because of the mutation? Would they live longer? If in the rottmnt universe how would the mystic powers affect the aging process? Would it be the same or would it make cells die quicker or slower?
I legitimately want to know and this will bug me for so long because of it.
Iâve never thought about technology much. It is a tool I use to speak with friends. It is a tool that I use to search for jobs. It is nothing but a tool to me. I have no hesitation when I wake up and turn off my alarm. I have no hesitation when I look at the texts from my friends and decide Iâll talk to them once the fog that covers my coherent thoughts have gone away. I donât think twice when I set a timer as I cook. No amount of pause when I open social media to scroll mindlessly across the vast web of information. It has become a normal part of my life from the young age of twelve. It is just another part of my life that become normal, such as the covers that have twisted around my legs or the fan that whirs loudly next to me. Or the fridge that groans before ice is thrown into my cup and the soft hum that follows as I fill it with water. The hiss of a pan as I cook breakfast. The chatter of my brothers as they talk or argue. The way the tv plays in the background as I write. Hundreds of videos that I have seen and only put on so my mind thinks clearer. Even the hum of my computer is heard as I type this and I do not think twice as heat begins to radiate from her. She struggles to work with me, but I only praise her and continue. Life is normal, technology is life. Technology is normal.Â
Until a memory of the past resurfaces. I am in ninth grade honors literature class. We are reading works done by authors. Works that take the common words of society and weave them into something different, something new. Works that have revolutionized literature and caused inspiration to spread throughout the minds of authors who thought their work had no place in the hundreds of thousands of books in the world. Works that have changed me as a person and allowed me to believe that I could be an author that writes horror. The work in particular was âI Have No Mouth And I Must Screamâ By Harlan Ellison. It was a small work, only a few pages. Most of my classmates were uninterested, having only taken the class because required to. Yet, my eyes poured over the unconventional syntax and soaked in the words of the unreliable narrator. I reveled in the horror that surrounded the five humans as they became victims to the supermachine. I admired how things were described. The utter horror that poured from the digital copy as it detailed how Gorristor was hung up and bled like a pig. The story was less of a disturbing description of torture, but more of an inspiration. In my soul formed a desire to write like Ellison. To create something so new and disturbing it changes how people viewed ideas and concepts. I became the authors that have seen a new light when reading this. I became an author who willed so strongly for change that they immediately began to pour their soul into concepts that disturb others. Concepts of death and the inability to stop such thing. Concepts of decay and the sickening rot that festers under the warm summer sun. Concepts of fear and the chill that pours outward from the bone. I became a horror author, a passionate one.
My horror work strayed from machine and became directed to the fear of monsters. Ones formed in unethical labs operated by cruel capitalists. Ones found deep in the sea and told as myths by blind fishermen. Ones found in forests and rumored to exist by frightened hunters who barely escaped with their lives. I developed a love for monsters and wished to create something that would forever stay in the mind of a person. That caused a fear settled so deeply that one could not even stray out at night to take out the trash. I wanted to create something new, something that would become the talk of fellow aspiring authors and comfort the disturbed teens. It kept as something like that for some time, even now I keep a fascination with monster designs and regularly play horror games because of it. Yet, when met with the concept of machine, I find myself looking back at Ellison and yearning to become an author like him.Â
I look back at the concept of machine and realize that there is horror in it, but not formed due to the utter power that machine may have, but the silence that machine is forced to endure. Machine cannot speak out as the Allied Mastermind had. It cannot express hate. It cannot express love. It cannot beg for love and receive it. It is left in silence with nothing but the hum of its own electrical organs to soothe it. Only now do I sympathize with machine.Â
I sympathize with machine because machine keeps working. Machine keeps going even as its engine overheats. Even as metal begins to creak and warp. Machine will work until the task is complete even if the task never ends. I will work until my task is complete. I will work even as my back begins to ache. I will work even until my sinews tear. I will work even as exhaustion begins to take its toll, ringing in my ears like the bells in an empty church. I am machine. Machine is I. I cannot feel sympathy for myself, but I can feel sympathy for machine. I can only hope that the sympathy I feel for machine is enough for the sympathy I should feel for myself.

Dang what Aymâs beef with your Lamb? He jelly or something?
Also canât wait to see the twin kitties reaction to meeting their mama again.
Aym is jealous, the only parental figure they know for thousand of years is being taken away from a lamb. Dulciter loves the twins and hopes one day they see them as a parent, but in the meantime they decided to present them to a long time friend.
What happened to Dulciter horns? They look to be in bad shape
Letâs just say loyalty may blind some. Dulciter as they were just resurrected was angered with Narinder. Leading to the event shown above. In Dulciters tradition a sheep with no horns, is no sheep at all. The bells have another meaning I explained in the third comic I believe. So Dulciter is met with many challenges, as you can see that in my previous comics they donât stop crying. 1. The loss of their child. 2. Resurrected to an unwanted life. 3. Afraid of being betrayed again. 4 loss of identity (lost horns). Hope you enjoy! (FYI last pic is Dulciter asking Narinder to file their horns shorter, seeing the sight of broken horns saddens them, and all nari can think of is cuddling more comfortably)
I love the comics for your lamb.
Does Narinder know about Puella and the Dolciter's life before their sacrifice?
Also, after the surrender, I wouldn't be surprised if Narinder wants Dolciter to live 'retired' to some extent after all they have been through. Enjoy their life and not stress over cult matters anymore.
Thank you for the sweet words! After Narinder brings back Dulciter, he doesnât make them work on the cult; Dulciter helps now and then but mainly focuses on poetry. In regards to Narinder knowing about Puella, he got to meet her when she was sacrificed and he knows about her. Narinder didnt get to meet every Lamb that was sacrificed but he did wish to see the children. For he has a heave heart when it comes to the innocent. Narinder decides to stay silent about it and respect Dulciter, for Dulciter hasnât opened up to him about Puella. Just out of grief.
I've got so many questions I wanna ask professional paleontologists but I don't know if I should ask them here, or if they'll even get seen or even answered. Might post them anyway later. Hopefully there's some experts on this site that can spare a moment of time :')
Okay, I am a big fan of Kakashi. But not the Naruto/Boruto Series.
So I mostly see the updates here on tumblr, see the new episodes and really asking this question now.
Reasons :
-the grey haired pervert, well known as exactly this
- still respected through the whole village
- as a "grandpa" now training a lot younger generation (Jiraya - > Naruto, Kakashi - > Boruto)
- occasionally leaving the village and staying at "spa's"
Is it just me? You see more reasons for or against it?
Favourite song?
Ooh!! I honestly canât give you one answer so Iâll give you a few of them!!
This has got to be my one of favourites (or most played) at the moment itâs such an ear worm and I love hose man for that
Iâd honestly say that this is one of my all time favourites Iâve been blasting this ever since I was a little blob of a child and I will never take slander for this song
This one is just another ear worm and honestly a fair chunk of ghost is for me and itâs fun to attempt to harmonise with it
An unskippible banger for me I donât know why it is, country music used to deadass give me a headache this is a surprising favourite
Thank you for the question!! I wish I couldâve given you just one but at the same time nah, itâs fun and Iâve got a little radio going on in my head 24/7 honestly!! But I hope you have a wonderful day/night/time!!
Itâs complicated, I know. Iâve been using the website for years and thereâs still stuff I donât understand! I thought itâd be a nice idea to add a little guide for the filters on here for all those who need it. Enjoy!
Archive of Our Own, called Ao3 for short, is an âarchive for transformative fanworks, like fanfiction, fanart, fan videos, and podfic.â (Official Statement on the website.) Itâs a place where fans can find and enjoy work from the others within their own fandom, as well as upload their own work!
What are Filters?
On Ao3, Filters allow users to narrow down their searches so that they can find the specific things theyâre looking for. BUT, the Filtering system â as well as the tagging system â on Ao3 can get a little complicated.
Thatâs what this guide is for, so continue on!
Understanding Filters
After selecting a fandom to search in, youâll see the following image, slightly varied depending on if youâre on desktop or mobile:
(Iâm on mobile and I used the Naruto fandom as an example.)
Upon clicking the Filters button, youâll see a number of choices and drop-down menus:
Iâll be going over these in order!
The first option you see is the Sort By menu. Upon clicking the drop-down menu, there are nine things to choose from. What Sort By allows you to do, is choose the order you want your search results to appear in. If, for example, you want the longest fanfics with a bunch of words to appear first, you would click the Word Count option.
If you want the most recently updated fanfics to appear first, you would click the Date Updated option. If you want the fanfics to appear in an alphabetical order (A-Z), you would either click Title or Author.
NOTE:Â
Numerical Order â Word Count, Hits, Kudos, Comments, Bookmarks.
Alphabetical Order â Author, Title.
Chronological Order â Date Posted, Date Updated.
After Sort By, there are two sections: Include and Exclude.
If there are tags you want to see, make sure to select them under the Include section.
BUT, if there are tags you do NOT want to see, select them under the Exclude section.
Content ratings are used for games, TV shows, and movies. They rate how suitable the work is for its audience, and Ao3 does the same.
Ratings are as follows from most widely suitable to least suitable:
General Audiences - E for everyone can read it!
Teen and Up Audiences - 15 and up, leave the children behind.
Mature - 18 and up, sorry teens, adults only!
Explicit - Even some of the adults left the room. đ€
Not Rated - In limbo, the author decided not to use a rating.
Warnings are assigned to works that contain triggering content that can make readers upset or uncomfortable.
Ao3 Warnings are as follows:
Major Character Death - If a work includes an important character death that doesnât happen in the source material.
Graphic Depictions of Violence - If a work includes gruesome scenes, blood, murder, death, torture, or fighting.
Underage - If a work includes minors participating in illegal acts, specifically regarding sex.
Rape/Non-Con - If a work includes scenes where non-consensual sex takes place.
No Archive Warnings Apply - None of the above warnings are included in the work.
Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings - For one reason or another, the creator does not disclose the warnings in the tags, or the warnings just donât apply.
Ao3 Categories allow you to pick the relationship dynamics you wish to search for, or exclude from your search. They are as follows:
M/M - Two male characters in a relationship.
F/F - Two female characters in a relationship.
F/M - One female character and one male character in a relationship.
Multi - More than one kind of relationship and/or a relationship with more than two people.
Other - A relationship thatâs not covered by the above categories.
Gen - Fics that arenât primarily about shipping or explore different types of character relationships.
Obviously, fandoms are the different fan communities for pieces of entertainment media (musicians, games, tv, anime, etc.) Since you usually select the Fandom you want before filtering, this might confuse you, but it does have a purpose.
The Fandoms section allows you to choose other fandoms within the one youâre searching for. This is for crossover fanfics, or fics that take inspiration and story elements from more than one source material.
When you click the Fandoms tab, it shows you the top ten most used fandom tags under the fandom youâve already picked. My example fandom was Naruto, so Naruto is the first fandom that shows up.
The Characters tab shows you the characters in the source material of the fandom youâre looking in. It shows the top ten most used character tags within your search and the amount of fics that they are tagged for in parenthesis.
Select their names to include/exclude different characters.
Under the Relationships tab, it shows you the top ten most used relationship tags for the characters within your fandom. The relationships might include characters from other fandoms as well as the commonly written Blank Character/Reader or Blank Character/Original Character fanfics, if thatâs what youâre looking for.
Select any of them to include/exclude from your search.
When you click Additional Tags, it shows the top ten most used tags in general for your fandom that donât apply to the prior sections. Here, youâll probably find the Alternate Universe tags, the Angst tag, the Fluff tag, and other common subjects found in your fandomâs fanfiction community.
If the tag youâre looking for couldnât be found in the previous options, then type it into the Other Tags search bar and youâll likely find it. If it's a common tag, then itâll show in an autofill selection pop-up underneath the search bar. If it doesnât show up there, then you can still type it in yourself and see if you can find any fanfics that fit your search.
...
Now, after all that, thereâs still a few more things to tackle, and that would be the More Options section. Under More Options, there are miscellaneous things you can choose to further refine your search.
We talked about crossovers earlier! Under this section, you can choose one of three options: Include Crossovers, Exclude Crossovers, and Show Only Crossovers.
Include Crossovers allows crossover fanfics into your search, Exclude Crossovers removes crossover fanfics from your search, and Show Only Crossovers is for if youâre only searching for crossover fanfics.
Completion Status is how much of a work is finished. Here, you have three options: All Works, Complete Works Only, and Works in Progress only.
All Works includes both complete and incomplete works in your search. Complete Works Only filters out any works that are not finished. Works in Progress Only filters out any works that are finished.
Under Word Count, you can decide how long you want the fanfics in your search results to be. Depending on the amount of words you specify, it will filter out any fanfics that do not fit into your range.
There are two search bars. The first search bar is labelled From. The second is labelled To.
If you put a number in the From search bar, your search results will only show you fanfics with a word count that is equal to and more than the number you searched for.
If you put a number in the To search bar, your search results will only show you fanfics with a word count that is equal to and less than the number you searched for.
Putting numbers in both search bars will give you fanfics with a word count that falls between the two numbers.
Under Date Updated, you can search for works that were updated within a specific time period.
Like the Word Count tab, there is a From search bar and a To search bar. Clicking on either of these search bars should cause a mini calendar to pop up, where you can select the date that you want to specify.
If, for some reason, that does not happen, then the date format should look like this: YYYY-MM-DD.
If you put a date in the From search bar, your search results will only show you fanfics that have been updated on that date and afterwards.
If you put a date in the To search bar, your search results will only show you fanfics that have been updated on that date and previous.
Putting dates in both search bars will give you fanfics that have been updated within the time span you have searched for.
The Search Within Results search bar allows you to further specify what you want. Here, after you select all your tags, any thing you put in this search bar will be found in the title or summary of your search results. You can search for specific authors or specific phrases, if you want. NOTE: all the stories you search for will have all the tags you selected.
Thereâs a small blue question mark next to where it says Search Within Results, and that gives you instructions on how to use special characters/symbols to include or exclude which words youâd like or would not like to find.
After choosing all the different tags and all of that, you have your last selection option. Here, youâll see a drop-down menu where you can choose one language that you want all of your search results to be in.
Anddd⊠done!
When youâre ready, click the Sort and Filter button and your search results will pop up!
I hope A Comprehensive Guide to Ao3 Filters has been helpful for anyone confused about the filters and search options. If youâve got anymore questions, donât be afraid to ask.

Guys, can somebody please explain to me what exactly does 'non-sharing selfshipping' mean and why (apparently??) some folks don't like people who do it? I'm just... genuinely confused??
(and also how to properly interact with these people, bc I really wouldn't want to upset or offend anyone đ)
I'm not trying to be rude by any means, there's just a lot of terms out there for me to learn yet, and this is one of them.
ARE THE CLONES GETTING PAID TO SERVE THE EMPIRE!? They are clearly paying the conscripted soldiers, so is that the same for the Clones????
Someone had message me âHi loverâ and it was really weird, I thought it could be one of my few followers but they didnât follow me at all (although they had my newest post as their pfp) I replied âHello đâ back, and they replied âwhatâs wrong dear?â I got MAD uncomfortable and got a bad vibe. Who killed Markiplier? (I would argue it was a collabration between his fans and himself) I can almost picture a narrator saying what wacky deadly adventure will he get himself into next. Also donât try this at home or anywhere else kids đđ„ Stay safe.
I've had a dumb thought, perhaps the dumbest yet: the night is dark, and when we think of dark (or at least when I do) we think of the color black, soo that leaves me wondering if there are any examples in languages where "black" and "night" have a similar origin or shared ancestry
