Huggy Scared me today…
I brought Sissy with me to the factory today, I wanted her to meet my friends. And it was going well, Cat Bee really liked her… but when I went to show Huggy and Kissy, Huggy freaked out! He picked me up and kept me away from my Sissy. He started growling at her like an angry dog. He scared everyone… even his own Sissy. Kissy asked if I was scared of her now too, but I told her, I wasn’t scared of Huggy or anyone here, I wasn’t scared at all! (well maybe a little). I was crying because it reminded me too much of when Sissy and Mommy would fight and argue with Daddy… and those fights would always end up with Sissy and Mommy getting hit. And what scared me was that I thought that one of them were going to hurt each other. Once everyone calmed down, Kissy took me and Sissy to see Huggy and the girls. She translated Huggy’s signing for me… he said “I’m sorry Lelu, I shouldn’t have let you see any of that, I understand if you are scared of me now…” Kissy and I explained to all three of them the reason I started crying. It turns out, Kissy and Huggy didn’t trust my Sissy… but after getting to know her over the next few days, I think she’s starting to grow on Kissy. I can’t say I’m surprised though, they both love fashion! I hope that doesn’t happen again though… it really worried me…

how does it feel knowing tumblr is the only (i think) safe space with no ai
i’ll be real with you: there aren’t any truly ”safe” platforms out there while good, universal regulations aren’t in place. nothing’s stopping ai bros from going to tumblr and manually grabbing images to train their algorithms on. i feel like platforms not doing the same (or at the very least, making it a permanent easy option to opt out) is bare minimum for any platform that wants to respect its users (yes, including the users who don’t post art, since on instagram for example they’re scraping ALL posts, not just art).
i’m happy that to my knowledge tumblr is still a platform that wants to respect the artist community, but either way i’d still be posting. we aren’t gonna win against ai by running away from the platforms that don’t respect us— we’ll win by staying and supporting each other, continuing to use the current ai poisoning methods, and campaigning for our rights as artists and copyright holders of our work!
