Beta-Readers Needed!
Before I publish the first few chapters of my rewrite series, I’m looking for at least five beta readers who’ll check my work for any inconsistencies, typos, and any other errors that might be found.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ If you are interested, you can message me so that I can ask you a couple of questions. If I feel that you may work well with me, I’ll ask for your email.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ If you are not interested, but know someone that might be, then you can either send them this post or tell me about them so that I can ask them myself. I’ll be asking a couple of simple questions and, if I feel we’d work well, then I’ll ask for their emails.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ REMEMBER! This part of the rewrite is centered around the Marauders & Co. (the romance is Wolfstar-focused, although romance isn’t the main theme). There’s going to be a lot of diversity in terms of race, gender, and disabilities. Also, Snape is going to be a complex, humanized character.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ If I can find someone who is Indian, Japanese, French, and/or Welsh to call me out in case I make any mistakes (I’ve been studying these cultures for years whenever I can, but I’m not perfect) that would be amazing.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ Finally, any and all Beta-Readers I end up picking will be credited each chapter I post.
Before I get into the main post, I wanted to adress the tags. I appreciate you being unbiased, and respectful towards my own opinions on the Marauders, truly appreciate it. Also, I don’t remember seeing you interacting with the post, and I can’t really go back to the post and its notifications since I deleted it and also muted the notifications received from reblogs. Either way, I think the comments were fine, my main concern were the anonymous asks I was receiving. Neither you, nor any other Snape stan have to apologize, by the way. I know the death threats were wrong, but I am also partly to blame considering that I recognize that I came off very aggressive, so I guess you can say that I also have tone issues. I am okay, thank you for asking.
Now, on to the main point of this post. For the Marauders’ Era of the rewrite, since there’s so little that we know of them, it’ll follow some of the main plots like the “The Prank”, the Sectumsempra incident, the Marauders becoming Animagi and such. However, once they graduate, I’ll take matters into my own hands. I think that the Marauders’ era will be more about fixing the original, messy worldbuilding and making the war to be a bit darker. I’m excited, as I’ve got a couple of twists up my sleeves.
Anyway, I hadn’t really considered the scenes when Remus and Sirius try to keep Harry from going nuts on the assumptions that Snape is a Death Eater by this I mean I completely forgot about that, but if you can tell me which chapters, I’ll be sure to reread them and see how it works for me. Thank you!
I do believe a lot of what we’re canonically shown through Snape’s memories, I just have a hard time believing that it’s exactly as he says it is because there’s also a lot of other things that we also know that really don’t match up for me. However, you’re right. The Marauders, as we’ve seen several times, were more about actions than words - which I think worked well (given all the lengths they went for each other, and later, for Lily), but also horribly (considering how they would react to getting insulted).
In my rewrite, I want to balance it out a bit so that it’s them constantly trying to one-up each other because of their rivalry (sort of like Harry and Draco). But, like I said, once the Marauders cross the line to humiliate Snape, a lot is going to shift for them.
I would love to chat with you about personal headcanons or theories, as I find myself enjoying that quite a bit! Only if you’d like to, of course.
I have some advice for a way to portray the Marauders and Snape's relationship! They bullied him, but Snape was never defenseless (except for That Prank) and I think it started from some animosity on the train during their first year, them Snape continued to be a jerk. Snape seemed to be the only person that they were constantly picking on, so must've done something to earn their ire. They were pranksters, but not normally bullies. Most of the students and teachers had mostly good things to say about them.
I think a good way to portray it is that the Marauders and Snape constantly being at each other's throats in small, petty ways. The Marauders would only go after Snape when he deserved it or was being extra bloodcult-y. They were bullies because they all ganged up on him, but I don't think that was always the case.
I think they had some kind of moral code - they were Gryffindors after all, if nothing else, their honor would've stopped them from always going after him physically - so it was usually just one on one or two to one. The others would be the lookouts, or help them plan. They'd insult him and he'd fire right back.
Most of their pranks were harmless, I think, except for The Prank. Mostly cutting words and petty actions that didn't mean much at the time, but mounted up to he quite annoying.
Hope this helps!
Hey Anon!
Firstly, thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it.
Secondly, I've been interacting with some Snape stans because I wanted him to be humanized. Snape, as well as the Marauders, are going to have a lot of flaws, but also a lot of good traits. There are going to be times in which the Marauders prank Snape unprovoked. There are going to be other times where it is going to be Snape who's going after them.
We're going to see a lot of Snape's softer side during their fifth and sixth years, after his relationship with Lily ends. Lily will be grieving for their lost friendship, and will sometimes talk about fond memories with Snape. I don't want to spoil it too much, that is all you'll be getting.
Now, Snape is not going to be defenseless. He will lash out and get his revenge when he feels is needed. But neither will the Marauders. For the majority of the story, it's going to be a mutual rivalry, until the moment they humiliated him in front of the school - this incident is going to shift something within a lot of people, for the better or for the worst.
If any of those hate anons and death threats came from the snapedom, let me go out and apologize on their behalf. That is not what the rest of the snapedom is like. You have been very respectful and genuine in your discussions and criticisms on Snape. So I appreciate the sincerity. I hope you’re okay, mentally and emotionally despite receiving those asks.
Hey Anon, they did come from the Snapedom. But you don't have to apologize. I'm well aware that not everyone who stans Snape is like that, as I've come to realize by actually interacting with some of you (admittedly, there was a time where I was told that you guys were the "bad ones", but was proven very wrong once I went ahead to get to know you guys, which I'm glad I did - even if there's a lot that I don't personally agree with).
I do recognize that I came off aggressive, and so, I'm partly to blame for that. I will do better next time, and think things through next time when opening debates between our fandoms.
Thank you for the message, though. I'm okay, I was a little shaken at first but it's passed.

Harry Potter Rewrite: Religion.
The original Harry Potter series was heavily influenced by the Christian religion. I never thought it made much sense, so I decided to make it so that the majority (especially purebloods and half-bloods) practice paganism. They’ll have their own traditions and festivals and holidays.
There will be other students who don’t practice paganism, but that enjoy some of their holidays. So far, some of the students (in the Marauders’ Era, since that’s what I’m working on at the moment) who aren’t Pagans are:
1. James Potter—Hinduism
2. Peter Pettigrew—Atheist
3. Severus Snape—Atheist, but has Catholic leanings due to his muggle father
4. Lily Evans—Atheist, family is Catholic
Of course, other religions such as Judaism, Islam, and many more, will be included. I’m just currently doing my research on these religions so that I can portray them well. Any help or suggestion is welcomed.
Any thoughts?
Thank you SO much! This helped me a lot, I’ll be sure to read the fanfics you recommended during the weekend.
Also, if anyone else has an idea please let me know regardless of what you think of Snape. I will do my best to be as neutral to him as possible while considering the suggestion. As I mentioned in the ask, I don’t want to represent him as wholly bad.
Hello! I’m rewriting the HP series, starting from the Marauders’ Era.
I’m an Anti-Snape, but I don’t want to portray him as wholly bad like most people who think like me tend to do. I want to have reasons for Lily to stick with him and defend him for so many years other than him just being her childhood best friend or something. Really, I’m asking for some headcanons? Little moments that Snape and Lily treasure? Little quirks that Snape might have (he likes spicy food, loves bugs, literally anything) to help me humanize him more? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(To everyone who messages me or replies: if you’re respectful of my views on Snape, I’ll be sure to be respectful of yours!)
Thank you! @ottogatto suggested I come here for help, so I decided to give it a try.
Hello! First of all - best of luck! Rewriting the series from a specific era involves a lot of love and labour. ❤️🌻 Secondly, I appreciate you reaching out to humanise Snape a bit :) It's usually my pet peeves in Marauder fanfics that you really can't see what Lily was holding onto while her friend is being radicalised. There is something complex and dsyfunctional here and it says a lot about both of them. The fact that you want to put effort into characterising him instead of making him one note vessel to be bashed is commendable ❤️
Anyway - things I see Snape and Lily do that lends some complexity to the friendship:
1. Snape is the one who told Lily she is a witch and is the one giving her the background of wizarding world (Azkaban conversation, wondering how Dumbledore sent the letter to Petunia etc etc).
Lily, when we first see her, has fairly good amount of control over her magic and is also a bit reckless with it (jumping off swings to float in air). I can see both her and Snape experiment with magic a bit. They are also both very good at Potions - so I can imagine child Snape and Lily practising a lot of wandless magic together and also have Potions bonding time as they grow older.
A fic that does this wonderfully and I recommend with my whole heart is Check the Spindle by @copper-dust
Here is an exchange from the fic that captures how I see the dynamic between 9 year old Lily and Snape, and why I see teenage Lily having difficulty letting go of him:
'Being in a place isn’t playing,’ Lily laughed. ‘Playing is playing. You have to pretend to be something and that everything is something else, like you could be the conductor, even, and pretend the trains are still running.’
Severus bit his lip. ‘I don’t normally...do pretend things.’
‘Well, that’s silly.’
‘It’s not silly!’ His voice sharpened like a pencil tapered to a point. ‘Being silly is like… doing things that aren’t real. I can do real magic, so I don’t have to play pretend.’
‘Well, so can I!’ Lily was offended by the implication that her special gifts were in any way less real than his. ‘I make stuff move all the time without touching it. Just because I do make-believe doesn’t mean I can’t do…’ She lowered her voice, though there was no one around the deserted field. ‘Magic.’
‘I didn’t say you couldn’t...couldn’t do magic. I know you can. I was the one who told you!’
She followed him out into the wheaty grass, away from the rails. He had turned away from her to face the gingerbread-coloured bricks of the distant foundry. ‘Why don’t you want to play anything?!’ insisted Lily, to his back. ‘I thought you wanted to be friends!’
‘Because I don’t know how, alright?
2. I usually take the cue from Harry's relationship with the Half Blood Prince textbook as a mirror for Lily's own friendship with Snape. When Harry is shocked by Sectumsempra ("he felt like a beloved pet had gone savage"), I see a more intense version of this playing out between them. Harry thinks of the Prince as a "clever boy who had helped him" - and I definitely see Snape's cleverness as part of the draw for Lily.
The volatility and ambiguity of her friendship with Snape and when she loses him to his bigotry and radicalisation, in my head, plays a part of why she is drawn to James, who is so vocally militant about his progressive politics. She feels safe with James - James won't hurt her by something that is a part of her identity, in her head. There is a wound in Lily - with regard to both Snape and Petunia.
(I also recommend work by acciosalmon - she captures the bittersweetness of the friendship without toning down any flaws. And although Snape only appears in a cameo, I thought @izzythehutt also captured the dynamic well in her Sirius-centric AU)
I also talk about a more flawed Lily here
3. Snape loves his mother, but hates his father. He identifies as half a "Prince" - his mother's maiden name. We also see him wearing her clothes - I read this as a defiance against his abusive father (and also the Snapes are dirt poor, so if Snape wants a hand me down, he will only take his mother's). I go back and forth on whether he takes Lily home at any point - but I personally see him as too ashamed of his home, compared to a more well off Lily. I do see Lily pushing a bit to understand her angry, sullen friend more. I talk about breakdown of their friendship here
4. I can see him hoard rare Potion ingredients and be super enthusiastic about Lucius Malfoy's dark objects collection in his manor. (he will think Lucius taste in peacocks is garish and kinda funny - which I think he will unthinkingly bitch about to Lily, and Lily won't like the implications of him hanging out with Malfoy). She may share his enthusiasm for rare Potion ingredients too. And yes, I think he will love bugs too. (btw, the Malfoys genuinely regard Snape as their friend and Snape reacts unconsciously when Harry names Lucius as a Death Eater, Narcissa knows where he lives and asks him to save her son's life - there is a relationship there, even though Snape is technically betraying their ideology by being in the Order)
5. He smokes ( he is self destructive, and doesn't take care of himself, so his habits are combination of depressive neglect and outright destruction). He enjoys reading - especially rare academic journals. If he wasn't radicalised and went down the path he did, I can see him turning into a reclusive researcher as an adult. So I tend to give him reclusive researcher interests. Snape hyper-identifies with magic and is very interested in expansion of his understanding and knowledge of it. I talk about Snape's draw towards powerful men with regard to his attachment trauma here
Also recommend The Atoners by @copper-dust for difficult teenage Snape interactions, but still in keeping with his humanity and guilt.
6. He is very, very aware of his social standing and class! @floreatcastellumposts captures this in a wonderful paragraph in her fic Phyrric:
She’d let Potter call the baby Harry, he’d heard, and he was sure, somehow, that it was Potter that had come up with the name. It felt like a Potter name - on the surface common and friendly and non-threatening, but when you stopped and thought about it, it was usually still just posh boys that were called things like James and Harry and Thomas and William and John and Richard and David and Edward. Kingly sort of names, princely - royal. Just as pretentious as Latin, but with the added sanctimony of an attempt at approachability or equality.
Also the quote that best sums him up is "a child weaned on poison considers harm comfort"
Feel free to chat with me in case you have any more questions. And good luck once again! ❤️
Severitus where Severus recognizes abuse in pretty much anyone. He's constantly pulling Slytherins aside to talk about home life, Ravenclaws, even Hufflepuffs, but not him.
He's so desperate for anyone to notice, anyone to actually, truly care, to do something, but that never happens.
Severus assigns a detention and Harry just loses it the second he steps in. Severus makes a single comment, and Harry is completely breaking down. He's shouting, screaming, even better if he's breaking things. Like, absolutely crashing TF out, and then he storms out.
When he shows up to classes the next day, he expects to be practically murdered by Snape, but he's not.
1) An apology letter on his desk, explaining his behavior, demeanor, and offering to help.
2) He gets asked to step out, just like he does with the Slytherins.
3) Normal class period.
4) A hug/reassuring words/just a form of comfort, really.
Severitus where Harry is deeply hurt/affected by Severus' strict/old-fashioned/etc parenting styles.
Severus is always portrayed as strict, sometimes bordering on straight up abusive, but then because he's better than the Dursleys, readers and authors alike tend to agree that it's okay. (IF THAT'S WHAT YOU LIKE, THAT'S FINE SO LONG AS THERE'S A DISCLAIMER.)
But arguably, most often, his tactics are rather harsh. Maybe he's firm on the whole open door policies, or washing mouths out with soap, I've seen a lot with spanking as well, but there's never any after effect, so make there be one.
Oh, he washed his mouth out with soap? Now he's scared to talk.
Spanked? He doesn't see the difference, frankly I don't either, though, so I don't have much to offer here.
No door policy? He feels watched.
Whatever you decide, there should be a point of realization that this is harmful. However that decided though differs.
Make Harry write an essay about Scary Things, and instead of writing about something normal, he writes about how he's terrified of messing up.
Maybe Severus discovers a diary.
Or, and something that I find worked with their personalities, is a massive fight. Harry messed up, and now Severus is threatening whatever, and Harry loses it. "I want to go back to the Dursleys, because at least I know they're cruel, with you it's a mix up."
It's so angsty, om nom nom nom.

First edit, chat. Ofc it's Snirius? What ELSE would it be?
(It's also on tiktok, which is why the watermark is different.)
(ARGHH, I ONLY JUST NOTICED THE LAG (Pretend it isn't there 😔))
Baby Harry, like 1-3 MAYBE 4. Point is, he's really young, Voldemort isn't back, and Severus had been tasked with watching over him. He constantly says he hates watching over the baby, says he doesn't want to at all, says he feels nothing for the boy.
Of course, being a spy, he has to attend death eater meetings. Per say one of the members found out about Harry, and now to "prove his loyalty" he has to bring him in. He thinks it's going to be fine, maybe a couple of harsh words, but nothing bad.
He's mistaken (of course) and has to watch as Harry is mistreated. Up to you to decide HOW mistreated. Maybe it's a couple of slaps, I prefer crucio.
Extra angst if Severus is 'invited' to join, and has to harm Harry.
I NEED trans Severitus fics rn. Think about it.
The whole pantsing thing has a whole new meaning. Nicknames like Snivellous, which imply that Severus is less of a man, makes way more sense. It's the 60's, so bullying makes sense. Greasy hair? Yeah, he doesn't want to shower and look at himself.
Matter of fact, make Harry trans too. Severitus.
Harry gets found out to be Harriet, which leads to teasing. Maybe they all just kinda thought the boy who lived was just an androgenous baby? Doesn't matter. Someone cuts up all of Harry's 'boy' clothes. Bad hairstyles? Yup, that's just Harry. Ron asking if Harry is really the girl who lived, and Harry just lies and says that he's not the girl who lived, he's the boy who lived. Finding out his dad bullied Sev for being trans? GUESS WHAT!?
Anyways, let them bond over dysphoria and stuff, Severus gives him pointers, like, don't bind with bandages, bind with sports bras or stuff, hairstyle stuff, dysphoria stuff, etc.
I NEED IT, I'M GONNA EAT IT OM NOM NOM.
"One day I am gonna grow wings."
Harry - I will get out of this place if it's the last thing I do, I will get better even If I have to claw off my own flesh.
Snape - I'm going to die, maybe then my soul can escape.
Harry: do you have a toe fast?
Harry: row fat
Harry: row cat
Harry: town cast? Town. Tow?
Harry: Toe
Severus, deeply concerned and exhasperated: Do I need to call an ambulance? Did you hit your head today?
Starprincechaser except it's James and Sirius competing for Severus and Severus could not care less.
Sirius is constantly walking him to class, giving unsolicited answers to tests and such (that are also probably wrong), handing him a jacket whenever it's cold out, etc.
James glares at Sirius while this happens, doing the same the next day (probably different favors), and every day, they meet up with each other and are both like, "hah! I'm his favorite now!"
Meanwhile Severus is so confused, probably staring at a wall, questioning all of his life choices.
Snape: You're an insufferable child.
Harry: but you love me!
Snape: You're still insufferable.
Severus is a like an overprotective girl dad to Harry and I will die on this hill.
Harry: Dad, this is my girlfriend!
Awkward silence ensues.
Snape, looking the girl up and down: What are your intentions with my son?
Girl: Isn't this supposed to be reversed—
Snape: My house, my rules.
Harry: Seriously! She's fine—
Snape: I wasn't taking opinions, now, what are your intentions—
Cut to a very brutal interrogation scene.
I understand Severus to a nearly unreasonable degree.
"But he joined the death eaters!" Okay? And? His father was a muggle who was terrible to him and others, if there was a military hate club, I'd join too! I hate the military for no reason, purely because of my dad, so, given that he actually had a reason, it's understandable.
"But he's mean to students!" Bro, I would've been fired years ago for child mistreatment, I'd be throwing desks, shouting, etc— hell no.
"But he just walked over James' dead body!" Cool, and I would've taken a selfie, like?? Iconic king?
James is really late when coming home, and Severus being who he is, is immediately spiraling- angrily. He's cursing himself out, convinced he is doomed to be just like his mother and marry a complete jack off.
Meanwhile, James comes home with a stuffed bat he found, flowers, and chocolates because he felt like Severus wasn't feeling too great that morning.
Harry: I'm so hungry, I could eat Charity Burbage.
Snape: *visibly distressed* You could eat what?
1506 words.
Story summary: Teasing Severus goes way too far. They tell jokes about his father, his looks, his house, his style, literally everything. Usually, he could handle it, but now he can't. He runs off from their laughter and collapses into the floor, clutching his chest and sobbing. His sobs turn into a panic attack, and Sirius finds him. Originally, he pokes fun at him, but soon he realizes just how badly it affected him, and he helps him through it.
Ships: Snirius (snack)

He couldn't escape their words, their cruel actions. Remus laughed as James picked him apart, piece by piece. He laughed at his hair, the texture and color of it. He scoffed at his body in general, bony and lanky, his features jagged and rough, abrupt and pale. His eyes, dark as coal. He teased him about his father, drunken and stinky whenever he showed up near his family, which made him want to cry even harder. He ranted about his voice, how it was deep but still nasily. He judged him for taking an interest in the dark arts, for liking potions, and for not even showing up to quidditch matches. Sirius laughed and joked about him in general, performing mocking acts in front of his friends. Eventually, when Peter mentioned his interests again, he couldn't handle it. They laughed as he rang off.
He didn't know where he was running, but he trusted his legs to get him somewhere safe. Tears blurred his vision, their teasing voices filling his head. Eventually, his breathing speeds up. The quick breaths got to him, causing him to lean against a wall. His black robes caught on the designs engrained in the oak walls slightly, but the friction quickly dissipated as he slid down the wall. His knees were brought up to his chest, arms hugged around them. His books and bag were scattered beside him, papers flown about carelessly. Suddenly, he heard a voice, raspy and dramatic, a teasing tone to it.
"Jeez, drama queen." The words, however a considerably less harsh intent and tone as the previous ones, still hurt.
"Really living up to the name Snivellous, eh?" He outstretched his hand, shooing him away.
"Go.. Go 'way," he rasped out, trying to conjure up a barky tone, but he couldn't manage to.
"Oh- oh, so you're like- like actually freaking out?" His voice dropped the mocking tone, the harsh intent, just minor shock and concern. Severus' hand gripped his chest, still trying to create a snapping time through his unease and gasps.
"I-.. I said- said go away!" There was a bit of an involuntary pleading tone to his words, one that tugged at the empathy in the others heart.
"No. I'm not leaving you to pick up my mess right now, just deal with it." He kneeled down, trying to get the distressed man to look at him or something. He grabbed the man's hands, which were pulling at his hair.
"I said-.. said go away!" His voice contained a bit of a snarl, but it wasn't strong. His head was bobbing slightly and black dots clouded his vision. His hand was placed on the calm ones chest.
"Just follow my breathing." Severus' fingers curled around the fabric, maybe a feat of desperation, trying to keep the touch close, or perhaps an act of dominance, trying to prove to himself that he was still totally in control, but he wasn't. He was completely at the mercy of his own panic, and that thought terrified him more than any teasing, pranks, or bullies could.
However, it was probably the fact that he hasn't had a proper hug since he was eight, and having been so long, he yearned for any physical touch he could get, even if it came in hits or shoves, which could also be why he was quite literally clinging onto him,. although he would never admit his to his thirst for human contact.
"Seriously, you're going to pass out. Just breathe." He managed to suck in a ragged, short breath, but it wasn't as speedy or shallow as the others that came before it. He bit back a sob, but some of it escaped, coming out in the form of a pathetic cry.
"Seriously, go- go away."
"No, not happening. Like I said, deal with it." His eyes narrowed ever so slightly, presenting his anger in whatever exhausted format his body could. Although, he couldn't lie, the hand lightly gripping his wrist, his hand pressed against his chest, warmth piercing through the layered robes and dress shirt, was quite relaxing.
"Just look around and tell me something green." He looked around, his obsidian eyes tracing the corridor, searching for anything with a hint of emerald.
"My.. tie." Sirius nodded.
"Something red." His eyes shifted down.
"Your tie." He couldn't lie, his breathing had gotten a bit better. Sirius placed a hand on the other boy's shoulder, which made him practically melt. His shoulders instantly dropped from their perched position. He let out an uncontrollable hum of contentment.
"Something brown, Sniv." The nickname snapped him out of his dazed and possibly content state, rewinding all progress done. He snapped his shoulder away, tugging his hand out of the other's grip.
"Go- go away!" He slammed his hands over his ears, similar to a child having a tantrum, but he couldn't care. He just needed him to leave him alone, the harsh truth shining through the curtain. When the hand reached out again, he jerked back.
"Go away!" His panic mixed with fear, and it wasn't a good concoction. Angry, rage-filled huffs mixed with panicked breathing, hot tears of anger and panicked sobs escaping him. He shook, whether that was the cold air of the late fall rushing in through the open windows, or the anger surging through him, sending rushes of adrenaline to spike through his veins, or the panic and sadness of the hurtful words. Sirius reached out again, grabbing his wrist.
"I said- said leave me-.. me alone!" His breathing was evidently getting worse, proven by the pauses and steamers in his sentences. However much it hurt to turn away comfort, he knew it would only hurt more once the kindness was proven fake.
"No, I'm not going! You're going to deal with this!"
"I know- know you're just doing this to-.. to talk about me with your-.. your stupid friends! You're just going to- to laugh! Leave me-.. me alone!"
Sirius was done verbally fighting with the man, arguing about a point that wouldn't change from either side. He grabbed the other's wrist and pulled him into a hug, which caused the other to freeze, stunned by the sudden act of kindness.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have called you that, especially when you're like this, that was... excessive. Just let me help you." He couldn't fight with himself anymore, giving into the touch. His body relaxed. As if on cue, he heard the thumps of footsteps, a duo, laughing. He recognized those voices far too well. He instinctively peered over his shoulder, anxiously trying to find them, where they were so he could know which way to run, but of course, they had chosen hallway left and backwards from him. He tensed up as he heard them laugh, shouting his nickname from afar.
"Hey, Padfoot, hugging Snivellous? That's gotta be a new low," James bellowed.
"Aw, we go too far?" Peter called out in a baby voice, obviously mocking Severus. Sirius however, was not laughing. He had just helped him calm down to a reasonable degree, and now he was getting wound up again.
"Fuck off," he barked. James laughed a bit.
"What did you say?"
"I said fuck off, James. Just leave him alone for one damn minute! He's having a hard time." With a scowl present on his face, he tightened his grip on Severus and glared at James, who scoffed and toddled off, probably to go tell Remus and laugh about Severus, but that didn't matter.
"Just keep breathing, you're doing great." He kept it steady before it got ragged again.
"No, don't start up again, everything's alright." While his tone was harsh, the arms wrapped around him weren't. Severus was promptly exhausted, a headache already making its way into his head.
"Are you okay, now?" Severus nodded, quickly pulling away from the embrace and backing away.
"I'm-.. I'm sorry for how I acted earlier." Severus nodded.
"I'll- I'll tell the guys to lay off. See you around, I guess, Severus." And with that, the curly haired man left, but not without a glance over the shoulder to see Severus picking up his books, wiping his face dry off all the tears he cried.

Idk how to end fics, so deal with this ig, chat.
Severitus but instead of Harry being scared of making the wrong move, he wants to make the wrong move. He can't stand the lack of chaos and shouting, he needs to feel unsafe because that is how he feels safe. So he keeps pushing his buttons, and he's getting punished ofc, but he's not being hit. There's no slapping, spanking, kicking, nothing.
One day, he pushes too many buttons for him to believe that he's not going to be hit, but to his surprise, he's not hit, so he loses it. He's screaming, shouting, maybe even crying a bit, asking when will he be hit because he can't handle not knowing.
Severus, calm as ever, maybe even looking down at a book or something, tells him he will never hit him because it's cruel, stupid, or wtv reason.
Cue Harry sobbing because he's never been told something like that, and Severus reassuring him.
Snirius trope where after a 'prank', Snape kinda freaks out. For some reason, it hits a nerve, it hurts him. Cue Snape having a panic attack or on the verge of one, and Sirius stumbles across him. At first, he makes a joke or two, poking fun, but once he realizes how freaked out Snape is, he stops.
Snape tells him to go away, but he doesn't care. He sits next to him, walking him through breathing exercises, leaving after he calmed down.
Or
He doesn't leave after he calms down. He stays and realizes just how much damage he's doing, just how much this all affects him, and apologizes.
OR
James, Remus, Peter, wtv, someone discovers him helping Snape calm down, and continues to poke fun at Snape or something like that, and Sirius just tells them to fuck off, and then continuing to help him calm down.
My headcannon is that this is a reference to the prank when Sirius revealed that Remus is a werewolf to Snape. I think before Remus was able to forgive Sirius they were of course not talking, and while James and/or Peter definitely would have been angry with Sirius for what he did, it I don’t think he would have entirely shut him out either, which would make it hard for Remus to be around them. I like to think that he and Lily really go to know each other well during this time and Remus was even able to gain a little independence while he wasn’t constantly with the marauders. Again, just my headcannon, but I think it explains that line in the show well
When PoA film-Remus tells Harry his mother was there for him at a time no one else was, what do you think that was? (If it's in the books, I've forgotten. Currently on a re-read and will find out eventually)
Hello @loonyloopylupin96 💜
I don't think this is in the book but I have always loved that moment in the film. The beautiful, tender score and the performances are so moving, particularly David Thewlis' whose Remus is everything.
I have always interpreted that as Remus thinking about all the ways in which Lily was there for him during the course of their friendship. My headcanon is that Remus and Lily were always close and had a natural affinity for one another. In fact, my headcanon is that for a long time that Remus was the only Maurader that she liked. I also headcanon that she shares things with Remus that she wouldn't share with others, even James, particularly in regard to the complexity of her feelings about Snape.
I even go as far as to imagine that had many things been different, Lily could have easily have fallen for Remus in the right circumstances....and perhaps sometimes wondered what might have been...although she never says anything about this to anyone...but I'm getting side-tracked...
I headcanon that outside of the Marauders and certain teachers that Lily is the first person that learns about Remus' lycanthropy outside of this tight-knit group at Hogwarts. Remus carries so much shame and self-loathing about this, and Lily's reaction was thoughtful, considerate and compassionate. And he never forgets this.
As the First War progresses, and speculation and tension rise as to who the potential spy in the Order is, Lily vocally defends Remus against Sirius' accusations. James finds this time really difficult, and feels less able to intervene with his loyalty between his friends tested and a natural tendency to side with Sirius on things. This is something that Remus also never forgets.
Thank you for asking. It was lovely to re-visit that scene again 💜
Not sure if anyone will see this but, what are your favorite Marauders headcanons? An important one for me would be the question of Indian or Latino James Potter, or something else entirely?
