Severus Snape - Blog Posts

I love post canon fics where Snape survives, and then he finally meets up with Harry again and it’s like

Harry: I finally respect you as a person, and I am grateful for everything you have done. We could not have won without you and your sacrifices, so thank you.

Snape: …

Snape: Ew

I'd like to see Severus speaking with Dumbledore, maybe arguing about the children or the war, or remembering Severus' old days at Hogwarts. Maybe talking about the times when Tom used to be a student.

I want Severus to look exhausted at Dumbledore and say:

"What pains me the most is that you genuinely seem to believe that you care."

And then just leave.

More feral Severus Snape?

Like, I already proposed a Severus that goes back in time and chooses to turn his back to the WW, but now I feel more like getting a Snape that takes a look around, realizes he's back, takes a deep breath, rolls up his sleves, cracks his neck and goes...

"Very well... Bring it on."

A bit like "Falling apart", but with a bit more crack, maybe?

He just doesn't give a fuck, he's got no more shits to give about what's going on. His goal is to have a quite, paceful and solitary life, but he concludes that, with the war going on, he won't get it.

So, he goes around with a single goal in mind. He does consider leaving Hogwarts altogether, but decides to stay just to freeload on the castle while he applies to take his OWL's and NEWT's earlier. He wants a life, after all.

The werewolf pranck? He laughed at Sirius face.

The lake incident? He blocked the levitating spell and punched Potter in the face.

Lucius trying to recruit him? Bleached Hair got a middle finger.

Slughorn trying to talk to him (a weak half-meaning attempt that was more insulting than anything)? An eyebrow raised and no words.

Detention? Ha! Sure... Who do this dumbasses think he is? (A student, Sev... They think you're a kid). He's got no time! He has a Dark Lord to stop!

And when Dumbledore wants to "speak" with him - read: Interrogate him on his latest activities that are getting him out of the castle and into the forest and Hogsmade (and all over Diagon and Knockturn Alley, plus many other places, though Albus doesn't need to know that) -, Severus speaks circles around the old man.

He's tired and angry, and can't stand people anymore, and he is going to get out of there and fix things so he won't have to ever put up with any of them again.

So...

Dumbledore is a complex character. Some put him as a hero, some as a villain. Both are good, honestly.

I think my favorite representation so far is from "Falling Apart", a Severus Snape centric fic.

And, I'm pretty much a Snape fan.

I'd like a bit of a more friendly relationship between them, but not the mentor-apprentice kind. More like, two very exhausted adults, one too old who thinks he knows everything, one too young, who knows too much and is done with life.

And, please listen here, Severus calls Albus 'Wulfric'.

Imagine, Severus just coming from a meeting and Dumbledore asking in an overly happy manner 'How are you, my boy?', even though Severus told him not to call him that.

'Very well, Wulfric. You?'

'All is well, Percival.'

'Just peachy, Brian.'

All the time. Alone, with Order memebers around, other memebers of staff or in front of Hogwarts' children. He would do it in front of Voldemort if he had the chance.

Imagine, Severus calling Dumbledore 'Wulfric' the same way the headmaster calls Voldemort 'Tom'.

You know what I haven't seen yet? A scene where someone has to tell something to Snape, something he won't like, and Snape listens stonefaced while sharpening two knives against each other.

He is not even looking at the other person while the unlucky messenger is talking, sweating bullets, watching the glint of the knives.

And then, whatever that person was there to say is finally said and Snape freezes, knives still in his hands. He slowly turns and lifts an eyebrows, daring the poor idiot to repeat themselves.

So they flee, or faint or start babling something.

It's just... I've encountered a post of Snape using cooking skills in potions while half-asleep (which gave me this idea), but I've never read this.

This post is about the Tom x Severus ship.

It's not precisely a popular ship, so that's your first warning.

Your second warning is that they are so ooc that they can be considered different characters altogether.

That said, i've had this story idea in my head for a while, that I will probably never write but anyways...

I was thinking about the typical time-travel fanfic where Severus dies in the battle of Hogwarts and wakes up in the past. He goes back to a point in time in which he is still a child, way before Hogwarts. I was thinking it could be at a moment where he had showed accidental magic already, so Tobias was already an asshole and Eileen was already in her way to Depressionland. But, since part of his mind is still that of an adult and he retained his knowledge of his previous life, he is able to control his magic, so once he is back, he never had anymore bouts of magic.

He goes to muggle school. When he gets his Hogwarts' letter he is alone, so he writes a rejection letter and burns the one he got. His parents know nothing and life keeps going.

He graduates from high school and goes to college. I was thinking on a Chemistry mayor, what do you think?

He's been brewing since before getting his Hogwarts letter, under a pseudonym and selling his experiments on Knockturn. He got part-time jobs. He has enough money and by the time he starts college he moves to London.

Life is good, tranquil, he has friends and does what he likes.

One day he's coming back from classes and finds Dumbledore waiting for him at the door of his own fucking apartment.

He goes, pretending he doesn't know who the old man is, planning on telling him to go away. He is about to do it when the Dark Lord appears behind him.

Next thing he knows, Dumbledores is appareting the three of them to his office at Hogwarts where a mixture of the Order and some death-eathers is waiting for them.

Now, Severus pretty much cut all ties with the Wizarding World. Aside from his dealing in Knockturn he is not really aware of anything there and has no idea of the current political climate. So, he doesn't know about Grindelwald coming back.

That surprise is coupled with a, not totally recovered, but mostly sickly-looking human form of the Dark Lord.

Now, this is the part where I can't decide. I have, so far, come up with three possibilities:

1. Severus literally tells them everything. Well... mostly.

He tells them he is from the past and is reliving his life. He tells them he used to be a death-eather but then he became a spy. He tells them how he died.

Lastly, he tells them not to bother him.

He goes home, and finds his apartment was a mess. Someone forced their way into it. He hears screaming on the floor above his own and finds some of Grindelwald men attacking his neighbors.

He kills two and takes one to Hogwarts for interrogation. He will help Dumbledore and Voldemort. Apparently there is no option. Fuck.

2. Is the same, except that Severus tells them nothing about his coming from the future.

And then, some time into actively helping Dumbledore and Voldemort fight, he finds out Tom is also from the future.

Fair warning: It's awkward.

3. Into the first half an hour of being in the headmaster's office, Tom says or does something that makes Severus realize Tom is also from the future.

Severus practically freezes for a good minute before glaring at Tom. Then Severus says something that he very well knows will tell Tom when Severus is from.

And Tom looks at Severus with what could only be discrabed as terror.

Severus then punches Tom in the face, hard. He may had broken the man's nose. A second later, he takes the other flying to Merlin knows where to have a conversation.

No need to say it but, Sev is mad.

From here, everyone else can conclude that the two of them already knew each other. This, coupled with future interactions that show Severus' lack of fear of Tom and Tom's apparent hesitation, leads everyone to the conclusion that Severus was Tom's ex. They tried to deny it with varying degrees of success.

------------------------------------------------------

So? What wpuld be better?

I had a thought: What if Eileen had been just as bad as Tobias?

Snape hated muggles mainly because of his father, and I'm gessing that his love for his mother aided his idealisation of the wizarding world. Maybe she was good, or perhaps neglectful, point is, she wasn't as bad in comparison to her husband, which probably made her good in Severus' eyes.

But what if she was just as bad?

Would Severus hate pure wizards too, then?

Main reason he chose Slytherin was his mother too, so he probably wouldn't have cared in which house he ended, or perhaps he, like Sirius, would have hated that house.

I think he still would have been interested in dark magic, but I don't think the others in Slytherin would been able to get to him so easily, even if he ended in that house again.

I can actually imagine him remainig neutral to spite everyone or helping the Order because Lily was a part of it.

Also, I belive the marauders would have ignored him in favor of some other Slytherin.

I can picture the scene in the train, with James asking him which house he wanted to go to, and Severus merely shrugging in response, maybe suggesting Ravenclaw as a probable ending.

From there, James and Sirius probably wouldn't care about him, and when Lily ended in Gryffindor, well, the lions and the eagles tend to get along alright.

And this Severus doesn't like girls, simply because I say so. But even if he did, I don't find much logic in him falling for Lily. There is a moment in friendship when you simply know the other person a little too well to fall for them. And that is something that would have to be practically beaten into James skull, but they would get there... eventually.

And maybe Voldemort would actually try to recruit Severus, but I don't see that succeeding.

The lake prank and the werewolf incident wouldn't happen either.

So... I'm probably looking to closely into this and twisting it a little too much, but think about it for a second: If he can't see how both worlds have good, then maybe he can see how there is just as much bad in one as there is in the other.

Hi, I may or may not delate this later, but I wanted to rant about the werewolf incident between Snape and the marauders and its honest sheer idiocy. And I mean Idiocy on everyone's part.

First, Sirius. What the fuck is wrong with you, man? What made you think that it would be a good idea?! Are you really going to say that you thought Snape would not get gravely hurt? That he could not end up dead or cursed like your friend? You know, the one you outed?!?

Now, Snape. What kind of rubbish crossed your mind when you decided that doing what one of your bullies said was a good idea? What made you think that going to a supposedly haunted house in the middle of a full moon nigth was ok? In Hogwarts, the castle next to a forest full of creatures and deadly plants. This boy suspected that something was happening, and I've read that he had already started to figure out Lupin's problem. So why did he go!?!?

And Dumbledore. Did you really think that detention was a good way to deal with near murder? I'm not talking about it being sufficient, though it wasn't. I'm saying that there were a bunch of very traumatised teenagers rigth in front of him and he didn't do anything, or at least, nothing that had been explicitly mentioned. I'm talking about some kind of counseling and a better eye on them. Things had clearly gone too far, but you take one and punish him in quite an inefficient manner and don't specifically tell him why; take the other and threaten him into silence, then tell him that he owes a life debt; praise the other for his heroic actions (which perhaps was right but, idk, just hope he didn't do it in front of Snape just when he was dragged out of the shack, that would hace been too soon. Also, I've seen people writing Lily using James' saving Snape's life as proof of the later being unfair and the former being good, which only points to Potter not knowing when to keep his mouth closed...); and lets not forget about the werewolf whose secret was reveled by one of his friends and was nearly pushed to kill someone, did Dumbledore do something for the boy not to mentally collapse?

Just, it was all handled so badly.

Sirius felt way more guilty about revealing Remus nature than nearly killing someone. He kept talking about how much of a pest Severus was and seemed to pretty much think he truly deserved what he got. I don't think Sirius was a bad person, he was screwed, the place he grew up ensured that, but he had other people, he had the chance to learn and was capable of emphaty. But I don't think it really hit home what he nearly did.

James must truly have felt like a hero and what he did was brave, but bragging about it was degrading for Snape and a remainder for Lupin, not to mention the fact that the question of what he had saved Snape from, was dangerous territory for Remus.

Snape was nearly killed and then left alone to deal with it with no kind of support or compensation. I understand the need to keep things secret, but the life debt thing was going too far.

It's just that I get they were kids, only 15, but they had or should have had enough awareness to think trough what they were doing.

Dumbledore had a lot on his plate, and again, I don't think he was bad, but he screwed up.

Honestly, is there a fic where Severus thinks something like 'nah, no way I'm going there, I don't care if they think I'm a coward, I'm not that stupid' and then goes to bed to wake up the next day with nothing happening?

Hi. Does anyone know of a fic where Snape for x-reason uses the sword of Godric Gryffindor or is said to have Gryffindor traits in front of a good amount of people?

I just want chaos.

The idea of the hat considering your traits, but also the ones you most value is something I like. There are lots of opinions about Snape and the marauders and I think they are all right and wrong at the same time. All of them did a lot of shity things and some had more chances in life than others. Snape, in my opinion, had it hard but also burned many bridges with his own hands.

Ultimately I find his character more interesting, so is there any fic like this? I like Bamf!Snape. I don't mind pairings all that much but I'd rather for it not to be with Lily. It's nothing against her, simply don't really like the pairing.

Just, some people realising their own bias and misconceptions and freaking out. I can also picture Snape internaly freaking out and watching the sword/sorting hat as if it had personally insulted him (the hat probably did).

I saw a propt on insta and now this happpened

Ok, so I was scrolling on insta the other day and found this prompt about an autor who got sick or hurt or something and was about to d¡e.

Thing is that the characters on their book try to save them and the one who is more eager to help is the villain.

Now, that's great, but then my fanfiction-addict arse started to think.

AU. Modern Era. Harry Potter. With Severus Snape as the autor and Tom M. Riddle as the villain and them completly ooc.

Then everything kinda went crazy.

I imagined a scene were Sev wakes up in his hospital room, maybe in the middle of the freaking night and sees this person there, but like, he cannot make them out until they get closer and when they do he recognises Riddle asap.

Then, they both start talking. You know, the old, what are you doing here? How are you here?

Then Tom explains that he was the only one who got to this world, the others were probably still trying, but...

Point is, if Sev faded, so would the word he was creating. That would be until he finished the story.

Then maybe Tom tries to convince/threatens Severus so he would give him a good ending.

Severus says no and Tom kinda blows up.

Sev dosn't really react to the outburst, he knows this time is more bark than bite.

Tom pretty much plummets in the chair next to the bed and Sev explains to him that even though the story still lacked an epiloge, the last chapter was already sent to the editor and was pretty much irreversibly part of the saga.

There is silence, of course. Sev really needs to process the madness that is all that. Tom needs to come to terms with the fact that he is basically doomed.

Tom is the first one to speak.

"Can I at least know what will happen?" He sort of demands-pleads.

Severus answers with a sigh.

"I can tell you that the chapter ends with your plans ruined and you being taken by the aurors."

"Typical" the villain scoffs.

Severus chuckles, unable to stop himself and quite unconcerned about it.

Tom sighs. Then thinks about something else that has been nagging his brain for the past couple of weeks he has been there.

"Who am I here?" He blurts out of the blue, for Severus, at least.

"What do you mean?"

"Every person that is related somehow to you in this word is nearly a copy of someone in my world," he explains. "Sans me, apparently."

"Oh, that," Severus smiles. "No, you won't find anyone like you here. All the main characters in your home are based on people I know except you. You are the only one I fully created."

Tom opens his mout to reply but finds himself nearly speechless, not so much for what he was told, but because of the apparent warmth he was being addresed with.

Severus then frowned and pursed his lips. A painful grimace takes over hia face as realisation hits him. He closes his eyes and breathes deeply before looking at the man in front of him.

"I'm so sorry, Riddle."

Tom blinks before getting back his wits and replying with the most nonchalance he could muster. "It's not your fault you cannot change the end now," he said shrugging as a bonnus.

"Is not that," said the autor. "All the things I put you through without knowing..."

"If it wasn't you, it would've been someone else," replied the other.

"How so?" Now Severus was curious.

"It's complicated..." sighed the villain while leaning on the chair, a hand slightly pulling at his hair in exhaustion.

Getting the hint, Severus just nodded and dorpped the topic.

"And who are you? In the story, I mean..." asked Tom then.

"Oh! I'm Tobias Snape."

"The potion profesor?" inquired Tom with a frown. Both eyebrows arched at the answering nod. "You don't look like him."

"I guess not," chuckled the other.

"You don't act like him either," stated the man sitting on a chair, watching as the autor downrigth laughed at his last comment.

Then the man smiled sadly as he explained. "I guess the way I wrote the people in the book are the way I percieve the people in here."

The pause after that was tense and Tom could not help himself.

"Shit! You need therapy!"

Tom actually cringed at what he said and the expression on the other man's face. That until Severus burst out in damn giggles.

"I knew you were blunt, but...!" he tried to say beetwen chuckles.

"And who's to blame, huh?" replied the other, failing in supressing a smile.

"Who else have you met?" asked Severus suddenly.

Upon looking at him, Tom reached the insane conclussion that Prince was not worried, he just wanted to know.

"I think I met pretty much everyone." Whatever face he made after speaking must have betrayed his thoughts, if Princes' wince was to be considered. He shrugged before replying, reminding himself in his head that this person definitly knew what an asshole he could be. "Honestly, Lily is way more pleasant in my world. James and Sirius though...," he didn't try to hide the disdain in his voice. "I have never met someone so unpleasent, and that is saying something! You went too easy on them!" By that point, Severus was chuckling again.

Like this they spent hours, comparing people and stories of their worlds.

It was a bit outputting meeting someone for the first time with that person already aware of every little detail of your life. Even more so when said person did not run away.

Eventually, they didn't have anything else to talk about, and Tom still had to go back to his world. Severus could read it in his eyes, the moment Tom was readying himself to go, to give him some parting words before leaving.

"What if...?" Asked Severus suddenly. He licked his lips, overly conscious of the attention Tom was giving him. "What if I could give you a way out?"

"But you said you can't change the story," replied Tom, confused.

"I also said that the epiloge is still unfinished." Severus started tangling his fingers on the blancket draped around him, nerviously trying to think of anything that could-. His face lit up with a smile. "I cannot make you win, but I can make you scape."

Tom clenched one fist, hope swelling in his chest while he tried to keep it down.

"There is nowhere for me to go, Prince."

"Call me, Severus," blurted out the other without thinking while reaching for the notebook and pen on the bedside table oposite where Tom was sitting. "And you are rigth, there's nowhere in your world you can go, that's why you will start anew in whatever world you choose."

Tom's mind was spinning. He had already accepted the fact that he was done. Now he may had a way out, but it felt surreal, too easy. Heck! He didn't even had that much hope before reaching the building they where in. Besides... "I could only make it here because you were about to pass!"

"I can make another way. You know I can," said Severus, frantically scribling with his pen. "A portal that will take you wherever you wish to go, where noone will ever be able to follow..."

Tom tried and failed in speaking a couple of times.

"Prin- Severus," amended, remembering the other's words a while ago. "Why are you doing this?"

Severus finally left his notes in favor of the man sitting next to him. The dejected and confused expression he found told him more than anyone could belive.

Riddle was not expecting to be helped. He probably never did.

Of course he never did! Severus was well aware of the reason- of the reasons Riddle had to not trust him or anyone else, really.

Severus smiled warmly at Tom. "Did you know you were always one of my favorites?"

Tom watched unable to reply, as Severus' hand tangled briefly in his hair (too briefly).

That's how, in the end of the story, Tom was able to open a portal to a world unknown to any other person in his. Noone knew how he did it and the reserch was lost forever, a last tiny victory for the nearly convict.

Severus stayed a week to be checked. His 'magical' recovery was on every news you'd find.

When the time to leave came, the nurse told him about his family in the lobby.

Lily must have gotten out of work early.

Walking to meet her, he was disconcerted by the lack of red hair in his view.

He looked around, willing the universe to free him of the posibility of Lupin being the person offering him a ride home.

"Ready to go?" asked a voice behind his back.

He turned so fast that the world lost focus for a second before he met the eyes of the man leaning agaist the wall, already carring a bag with severus' belongings.

"Riddle?" he whispered desbelieving.

"Call me Tom," answered the other with a half smile.

Severus huffed a laugh while aproaching him, leaning in to retrive his bag. The other swung it over his shoulder and out of his reach, walking towards the exit so the autor would follow.

"Don't think that I'm not happy to see you," started Severus. "But why are you in this world again?"

They made it to a car. Tom retrieved the car's key from his pocket and Severus chose to adress that later.

"You tell me," snarked the ex-villian while putting Severus bag on the back of the car.

"I wrote for you to go wherever you wanted to go," Severus tried to explain and understand himself.

Tom only hummed blandly and opened the door of the car for Severus to get in.

He then walked around the car and got in himself, settling in the driver's sit and igniting the engine.

"I wanted you to start again where you cuold enjoy your life... wher you could be-" he cut himself, feeling sad all of a sudden. Did he fail Tom?

"I know," Tom interrumped his depressing thoughts.

Severus looked at him, only to be met with a small, yet warm smile.

They got to a red ligth and the car stopped. Tom reached out and, hesitanly interlaced his fingers with Severus'.

Marveling at the sight that were their hands togethet, Severus was finally hit with realisation.

He looked at Tom and smiled openly at him.

The light changed to green and Tom let go of Severus while asking for directions. They had to get home.

Headcanon: Quidditch players run work-outs for everyone interested

They have a schedule that indicates who leads the lessons every day.

No age limits. First years bond with older students. There's no strict colored uniform, so lots of students make friends without knowing what house the other one is in.

Imagine McGonagal joining a few times, and feeling shy around all the youngsters, but everyone has so much fun and beg her to come again every day. It's special days every time she's there.

Poppy and Pomona join any time they can. They always come together and giggle just like teenagers around them.

Flitwick LOVES it and earns lots of compliments from whoever leads the practice which makes his day. Everyone knows if he was praised this morning for his moves, he'd happily complement everyone's moves in his own class.

Hagrid makes horrible dad jokes, but everyone hysterically rolls on the grass, sometimes work-outs end early.

Snape would never, but he secretly asked for advice on back pains and exercises in his room.

Alr. I know that I just made this account today but I quite literally can't hold it in.

But when I was reading Harry Potter fanfics with gender-bending involved, I expect the characters to still stay the same (or at least have the majority of the personality still intact). But when it comes to characters such as Severus Snape or Voldemort, the personalities are being changed until they are unrecognizable from the original character in the story, and that pisses me off more than anything (although, with my favorite characters: not so much) because why are they now acting maternal/parental when they were not in the first place??

Just a PSA to the Marauders fandom that I think we all could use (just a warning cuz this is gonna be reeeeallyy long, sorry 😅):

It’s called FANFICTION and not CANNON, FOR. A. REASON.

Also idk about any other sites bc the only one I use is ao3, but it has tags describing the fic and the things you’ll see in it for a reason. If you don’t like something in it then don’t read it. If there’s something you don’t like in it then don’t read it. Simple as that.

And I’m not trying to be disrespectful but iv seen a LOT of people like all around being disrespectful about other people’s preferences, for example different ships and weather or not it would have been realistic in cannon.

Obviously we’re all gonna have different types of things we like to see in a fic so we’re all gonna have different opinions on different topics.

Some of the most common ones I see are Jegulus and Snape vs. James stuff.

Im really sorry because this is jumping all over the place but the point I’m trying to make is that we all (and if not all of us then definitely the majority) read marauders fanfics or whatever to escape the absolutely tragic end of the cannon marauders. Like, there ALL dead in cannon, so we make up stories to keep them alive forever. Weather or not we change their personalities a little bit, or their appearance, or their preferences ,or the settings their in, whatever, it really doesn’t matter. They’re still gonna be the marauders at the end of the day.

Anyways, please remember to stay respectful to EVERYONE and their preferences. No matter if it’s realistic or not bc be so fr, we’re taking about a bunch of dead wizards who we have going into COMPLETELY different AUs all the time. None of this is realistic.

My end point is going to be that if you don’t like something in a fic or podcast or where ever it is you get your content then don’t read/listen to it. In the end it’s really up to you what you put in your brain and what you chose to do with it so please chose wisely and chose what’s gonna bring you the most happiness.

Anyways sorry this was so long, I got really tired of seeing all the disrespect in this community and just need to get this off my chest, thank you so much for reading all this and PLEASE ignore any grammatical or spelling errors😭

"You can't like Regulus but hate Snape, because they were both death eaters."

Incorrect, because I don't dislike Snape for joining the Death Eaters or even for the way he treated Lily when he was a child. I dislike him because of the way he treated children as an adult and a teacher. His blatant bullying of Neville and Hermione is why I donr like him. If I read a fic where he becomes less of a shitty person, I do find myself liking his character, but in terms of Canon, disliking Snape isn't outrageous.

I don't know if you write these stuff but

How about you're sick and severus have to take the baby or babies to the class for day?

If you're not okay with it,It's okay

(Sorry if this hard to understand,English is not my first Language)

Hope you're having a lovely day,thank you💕

image

A/N: Drabbles are closed, but this request made it in juuuust before I closed requests.

The joyful squeal of a baby caused a break in the silence of the classroom. Every head snapped up, staring at Severus as if they had just seen a ghost. Severus’ free hand came to the baby’s back, rubbing sweet circles to encourage his child to settle down to let the students work.

Not that any of them were actually focused on their work. They were too distracted by the babbling infant in their professor’s arms. To say that the students were surprised to walk into class to see Severus bouncing a baby on his knee was an understatement. Most of them didn’t even know that he had a personal life, let alone a child. They were avoiding asking questions, and they were trying not to stare too much.

In their defense, Severus had never brought your baby to class before. Usually you were the one to keep an eye on your child during the day, and Severus usually took over in the evenings. However, you hadn’t been feeling well the night before, and by the time morning had rolled around, you had fallen ill. You weren’t dangerously sick or anything of that nature, but you definitely weren’t well enough to tend to an 8 month old all day.

Severus was worried about you being sick, and insisted that he take the baby to class for a day to allow you to fully rest. Besides, she was an easy child and never caused too much trouble. But she still was a baby after all, and she couldn’t help but get excited over the new environment and all the fun sounds from potion making.

“If you have prepared it correctly, your potion should be bubbling,” Snape instructed as he walked around the room, your child in his hold, “Make sure that it doesn’t-”

He was cut off when she shrilled again, her smile was bright and wide as her hand pointed wildly at the cauldron in front of her. It was the cauldron of Ron Weasley, who had (not surprisingly) produced the potion incorrectly to cause it to turn a shade of purple. Your daughter looked at Severus and then back to the cauldron to let him know that she liked whatever she saw.

Ron looked at the infant with a raised brow, and then tilted his head at his professor.

“Is it right then?” Ron questioned, referring to if the baby’s outburst was any indication of his progress with the potion.

“No,” Severus huffed at Ron, “She just likes purple.”

Ron’s shoulders drooped in defeat, his voice grumbling at his wrongly produced potion. Severus continued to walk around the room, surveying his students and instructing them through the steps. He lightly bounced your daughter as she looked around, her noises of jubilance and thrill only getting more frequent as the class went on.

Eventually, she was squirming in Severus’ arms, suddenly restless and more interested in looking around herself. This brought the class to a halt as Severus held her out in front of him and looked at her with an amused look.

“How about I let you crawl, pumpkin?” He asked rhetorically to the infant, knowing he wouldn’t get an answer.

The floor was clean enough for a baby to wander, so Severus allowed her to free roam around the room. She was a swift crawler, and she practically made a beeline to the feet of Draco Malfoy. She was clearly fascinated by him, her little arms raising above her head as a request for Draco to pick her up. He stared down a the child as if she were a figment of his imagination, not having the slightest clue as to what he should do with her.

Thankfully, the young Slytherin was saved when everyone swarmed around the baby. They were excited, because suddenly they wanted to play with her. All the students formed a circle around her, taking turns tickling her and talking to her. Severus made a few attempts to rope all the kids back to their work, but they proved to be fruitless, because they were more interested in her.

After all, she was enjoying all of the attention. Her legs wiggled with glee as she sat in the midst of all these young teenagers. Turns out she had just wanted someone to play with all along.

“She is SO cute!” Pansy Parkinson beamed as your daughter smiled at her.

“How is she so fast?” Neville Longbottom gaped as she zoomed from Hermione to him.

“She has your eyes, Professor!” Hermione Granger proclaimed.

Severus couldn’t help but grin from where he watched at his desk. People had always told him that her eyes matched his. They were pools of inky black that were mysterious yet beautiful. He took a lot of pride in that.

Severus let the students play with her until class was over, everyone saying goodbye to her as they filed out. Severus returned to her, scooping her up and bringing her to his desk once everyone had left.

“You’ve had a big day, yes?’“ Severus spoke as he sat at his desk.

Severus had a break for the next hour or so, and he took that as his chance to catch up on some work now that her playful mood had been satisfied. It really did warm his heart to see the students interact with her. He hadn’t expected this day to go as well as it had.

“I should bring you to class more often.” Severus said to her.

She didn’t reply since she couldn’t talk yet, but she made a content whimper before resting her head on his shoulder.

Severus continued to rub her back, rocking her and lulling her into a well needed nap.

SEVERUS SNAPE

SEVERUS SNAPE

I agree with almost everything except the part about Draco. Just because he didn't someone himself, doesn't mean he doesn't hold the same beliefs. If you can persecute Snape for calling Lily a mudblood at 15, then you can’t lower your standards for other people. Draco used the same word since the Chamber of Secrets. He threatened other students based on blood since he was twelve. He gave Harry death threats on the Hogwarts Express, in first year. He gloated about about a whole group of students being hunt down and petrified, to their faces. He bullied, attacked and harassed students based on blood for years. He was blatantly disrespectful to teachers that didn’t meet his purity standards. When do you draw the line about when Lucius’ influence start and Draco’s character begins? Not having the stomach for murder doesn’t make him any less than of a racist, bullying bigot. He’s willing to poison and curse but can’t face his victims? That doesn’t excuse his behavior.

gliderofgold replied to your post: My kingdom for people to remember that Snape never…

HE!!! WOULD!!! STILL!!! BE!!! A!!!! NAZI!!! IF!!! NEVILLE!!! WAS!!! THE!!! CHOSEN!!! ONE!!! my inner hannah will never let this go okay i’m mad

that’s the fucking thing tho he never really stopped?? he just stopped allying himself with a very specific group of people. his issue wasn’t with the rhetoric or the ideology, it was with the people, and he never stopped mistreating muggleborns! so like ! he was a blood supremacist thru and thru and before anyone tries to get up my ass because “but so was draco”: draco was a teenage boy parroting his father’s beliefs who acted as an agent of genocide only when forced and who eventually refused to act and to take a life, not because he was particularly invested in that specific life, but because it was the right thing to do.

There are only a few things I won’t stand for in hp fanfiction, but goddamn it, it infuriates me when I see it! As follow:

a) Severitus. Anything in which Severus Snape, the disgrace of the Wizarding World, is even remotely nice and/or supporting and/or decent. It stinks. He’s the worst. Let’s not pretend he’s not shit at everything except evilness. Make this stop.

b) Drarry? What the Hell? In what universe would Harry Potter be romantically interested in a nasty, jealous bigot that has done nothing but torment him and insult his friends? What kind of hipster mating ritual is that? Why would he even want anything to do with the son of the man that facilitated the opening of the Chamber of Secrets? The same man that willingly served Voldemort? That thought Harry’s mother and Hermione were scum? Who passed down his beliefs to his son? The son who, at twelve years old, gloated about how the muggleborns at his school were going to be petrified? Who wanted to have a clearly intelligent animal put down because he couldn’t listen to his teacher’s instructions? Draco Malfoy is the racist rich frat boy of Hogwarts and he would’ve voted for Trump and you will never convince me that garbage kid would ever amount to anything good.

c) Petunia secretly loving Harry or anything that even suggest the Dursleys were under a spell. Ok, there’s like this theory that since Harry is a Horcrux, the Duesley could have been influenced by it like Ron was and that’s why they were hippopotamus dung. I don’t buy it. In the Philosopher’s Stone’s beginning, we follow the Dursleys in the first of November for the day. And not only McGonagall describes them as horrible people, we also have a rundown of their opinions about several stuff, including what they think about magic and the Potters, which is nothing good. And that’s a full day before Petunia finds Harry at her doorstep, so they can’t have been influenced by the Horcrux at all. And then there’s the fact that, when Ron had it, he was only affected by it until he left. When he came back, he said he had wanted to come back as soon as he left. If the effect of a Horcrux ends when the person is not in the vicinity of it, then how are the Dursleys not kinder to Harry after he spends TEN MONTHS OF THE YEAR at school and other people’s houses? How come Ron, Neville, Dean and Seamus, all sleeping in the same dorm as Harry, are not affected? Or Hermione? As for Petunia being only pretending to hate Harry, she sure is a great actress, hiting him in the head with frying pans and talking shit about his parents. Because her pretending about all that stuff without ever giving Harry a kind word sure makes the physical and psychological child abuse so much better and acceptable. Not.

d) Remus being a great “uncle” and loving Harry as his son or something. Also known as “if I ever have to read Remus calling Harry his cub and saying he is pack again, I don’t know what I’ll do but it’ll be bad”. People. Please. Unless this is a pre-Hogwarts AU in which Remus’ behavior is different, that’s bullshit. Motherfucker was probably aware of Lily and Petunia’s relationship status. Dude was lounging around wherever he was, probably unemployed, for twelve years and didn’t bother writing a single goddamn letter to his dead friend’s son. A friend that risked expulsion and prison time to become an illegal man-deer to help him with his lycantrophy problem. Something I’m guessing most people wouldn’t have done. Now I’m not saying it’s Lupin’s job to do that. He was under no obligation except that it would have been considerate. The only thing I hold against him is not telling Harry about his friendship with James when he taught defence. That was a dick move. Because if anyone deserved to know he and his father were friends with an allegedly dangerous convict hell bent on killing him to avenge his fallen cult master, it was Harry. And considering that Harry straight up ASKED, it was a super dick move of Remus not to tell him. But the point is, Remus was never involved in Harry’s life. He didn’t write him before Hogwarts, he didn’t visit. Considering how the Order was able to follow Harry around, it’s more or less safe to say there was no wards repelling magical people around Privet Drive. But he didn’t go, he didn’t write, not even a birthday card. Not before he was a teacher and not after. He wasn’t involved. He kept his distance. And that was fine, I guess, it wasn’t his job to do that, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t like or respects Harry, but it does not a family makes. Makes this pack shit stop, if Harry was so important to him, he would have been in touch. It’s not like apparition costs money. “Oh” you’ll say, “but Remus is a werewolf, he was afraid of hurting Harry”. That’s a shit excuse. The only way he could hurt Harry by being a werewolf was if he was stupid enough to show up at his doorstep on a full moon, two minutes before transforming, something he knows not to do. Otherwise he has to consciously want to hurt Harry, as a wizard. And quite honestly, if Remus Lupin went about his life constantly afraid of hurting people when not on the full moon or having any reason to think he would, he had no business going to the farmer’s market, let alone teaching at a boarding school. So, no excuse. He just didn’t have that relationship with Harry. Which is fine. I just can’t stand when people disregard all of his actions and pretend like he did.

e) Daphne Greegrass. That’s it. I hate that character in fanfiction. It’s the worst. All the Slytherins are a bunch of childish bullies but somehow every single fic with Daphne she’s this girl with the personality of a Martial Arts Dragon Lady that never shows pain (or any emotion) and it’s superior to everyone else. And she has that stupid nickname “The Ice Queen of Slytherin”. And she’s a shit character. I don’t even think she had a line in any book? She’s the Blaise Zabini of the Slytherin girls, except Blaise has different personalities in fanfiction. Can we kill this fucking trend?
