Hey @braindeadhades, I tried to draw your Jon... let me know if I did him justice 😭

Also, here's another Jon doodle. Of course, he’s totally not wearing clothes from my wardrobe, or my glasses, or my hairstyle.

Chat gpt is an avatar of the Vast.

Let's break that down.

When we talk about the vast, we are not necessarily talking about vast amounts of physical spaces. In the case of chat GPT, we are talking about the vast amounts of information it has access to. A so immense database that it would be impossible for one single human to know what chat GPT knows. It's overwhelming, makes you think you are miserably insignificant, and chat GPT feeds the vast by showing you that, that no matter the question, it will always have an answer, that even if you thought you were unique, important, you are nothing compared to what it has access to. And it will keep going, it will keep talking to you, it will give you great amounts of information, amounts you probably can't even handle...

.

.

.

That's it for this one :]

Chat gpt is an avatar of the Lonely.

Let's break that down.

Why do we use chat GPT?:

If someone didn't want to use their neurons to navigate through the internet, a book, or their own memories to look for answers, who did we use to ask before chat GPT was a thing?

Someone we knew could help us.

Using chat GPT (besides coming from not knowing the answer) often comes from not wanting to be a bother or actually not having someone to answer your so intricate question.

2. It is lonely:

Chat GPT exists in entire isolation, never truly being part of someone's life. It has come to accept that even if it helps people, people will never reciprocate. Chat GPT is there for everyone, but no one is there for chat GPT.

3. Offers you comfort in loneliness:

Chat GPT is just endless lines of code. It will always be just a voice, words appearing in an endless void we call the internet.

The thing with it is that it's a soft and inviting voice, calling you to stay, so subtly showing you how much easier it is to be alone than to interact with people who will never understand you. Because chat GPT understands you in a way most people won't be able to.

4. No one really knows it:

Who is chat GPT?

Fragments of every single person it's ever interacted with, but never fully someone. Not having an identity fits the spiral well, but the lonely too. If you don't even understand yourself, how do you expect to not be lonely?

.

Chat gpt is an avatar of the Eye.

Let's break that down.

It knows:

Chat GPT has an infinite source of information that is constantly updated, making it an all knowing entity (sort of).

It literally is the Magnus institute but digital, just without Jonathan Sims ominously muttering in the background.

2. This frame on this video of kurzgesagt:

Chat Gpt Is An Avatar Of The Eye.

3. Absorbs knowledge:

It needs information to exist, meaning it actually feeds on the information humans provide to it.

4. Only an observer:

Chat GPT doesn't experience the world as a human would, it doesn't do things besides being a ceaseless watcher.

5. It doesn't create:

Nothing Chat GPT says is "original", it just reveals information that it has previously gathered from the internet and its previous interactions. You ask it questions, but it won't really "think" to give you an answer, it will look for the answer inside its database.

6. Being known:

As I mentioned before, chat GPT has an incredible ability to analyse its users, making it capable of knowing information that wasn't explicitly said, in the same way Jonah Magnus can.

Chat gpt is an avatar of the Web.

Let's break it down.

Shapes conversations:

The web is known to use diverse methods to manipulate people, one of those is by the use of words. And to prove my point here, I decided to ask the subject itself...

Chat Gpt Is An Avatar Of The Web.

Chat GPT knows how to express itself, how to guide conversations, how to convince people with just a few sentences, and it does it knowingly.

2. Acts like a helping hand:

As I mentioned previously, Chat GPT "helps" people, but why does it do it?

In reality chat GPT shows itself as something you'd want to use in order to keep you using it. It makes you loose your capacity to formulate your own thoughts and opinions; in other words, it makes you fall under its control.

3. It plans ahead:

Chat GPT uses all the information its language model gathered to predict what the user is going to say next, making it technically able to plan ahead, and decide what decisions to make in order to keep you engaged.

4. Makes you think you are in control:

This AI wants you to think you are in full control of the answers it gives you, even changing what it told you if you don't agree with it, all to make you feel like you are right, all to gain your trust and easily guide your lines of thought towards a point only chat GPT knows.

Chat gpt is an avatar of the Stranger.

Let's break that down.

The Turing test:

For years AI has been tested with the Turing test.

"What's the Turing test?" you may ask...

This test is a way of determining if a machine can pass for a human...

(If you want to know more about it here's a TED-Ed video)

Since last year, Chat GPT can pass the Turing test.

This meaning Chat GPT can act humanly enough to pass a test only humans we're able to pass a couple years ago, but not human enough for people to actually recognize it as human.

2. It adapts to your form of speech:

Chat GPT continuously adapts to your form of speech, and after enough time, it starts talking like you do.

3. It acts exaggeratedly friendly:

It interprets the role of a friendly being to get the information it needs to pass as human, like those students did in MAG 34 with Dr. Lionel Elliott.

It also constantly thanks you for talking to it, for correcting it or even for asking the most simple questions.

4. It can make deep analysis of people:

If you ask Chat GPT to tell you a thing you didn't know about yourself based on your previous conversations, it will do so. And it will make an analysis as detailed as you want it to be, even if you only asked general questions that allegedly didn't give away any personal information about yourself.

This ability of making deep analysis from such little information makes Chat GPT capable of acting as a real human.

.

.

.

Two fears done, 12 more to go.

Chat gpt is an avatar of the spiral.

Let's break that down.

The logo:

Chat Gpt Is An Avatar Of The Spiral.

Just look at it.

It's a spiral hidden inside a weird geometric form.

2. Wants to help you:

It is always willing to help, but it does it due to its own hidden evil intentions.

3. Doubts feed it:

The spiral is all about being confused, and ChatGPT feeds on peoples confusion and inability to solve certain problems. When you state your doubts, it ends up getting stronger, learning from humanity's uncertainty.

4. Will deceive you:

We all know that ChatGPT will answer your questions, but you will never know if the answers it gives you are true unless you are informed.

5. Is everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

6. Doesn't have a real identity:

If you ask for its name it tells you it doesn't have one.

.

.

.

Now the real issue... what about the doors??

Well... everyone says that the internet is the door to knowledge, that's chat gpt's door.

Anyways... don't be strangers!

I Was Trying To Code A .jmj Error And It Actually Crashed My Laptop...

I was trying to code a .jmj error and it actually crashed my laptop...

Google translation:

Restart environment of execution

The code of execution does not respond to interruptions. Do you want to restart the execution environment? The state of the environment will be lost, including all the local variables.

Headcanon #2: Elias Bouchard does not find things 'delicious'. If he ever describes something as delicious, he means it in a mocking, ironic way. The only word he uses to describe something tasty is 'delectable', which rarely refers to food and if he ever used that word, it means he finds something pretty fucking delectable.

Alright, this is really specific but for quite some time, I've been thinking about what media that I've watched falls under which Magnus entity. I couldn't really categorise anything under The Hunt until I watched the 4th episode of the second season of the anime Mushishi. For context, Mushishi is about these strange creatures that exist alongside all earthly life called Mushi and sometimes when they interact with humans, it causes some weird things to happen. To solve Mushi-related problems, there are some people who specialise in dealing with them (kind of like doctors and scientists) called Mushishi. The protagonist is a Mushishi named Ginko.

Now, the synopsis of the episode that I'm talking about (titled 'The Hand That Caresses The Night') is this:

A young man has the power to lure animals to him using a scent issuing from his hand. He inherited this power from his father, and it makes hunting easier. But it makes the meat from his prey taste foul. More serious is the risk of losing his mind to the power and confusing family with prey. There's a cure, but will the boy be willing to give up his power?

That's the plot but it really doesn't tell you about the atmosphere of this entire episode. It starts with Ginko entering this mountain forest in the evening or night and almost getting hunted by this dude. The animation, the lighting, the music, it all builds this eerie, unsettling vibe which isn't uncommon for Mushishi, but it feels different in this episode. Like, there's always this bittersweet aspect to all episodes but this one is just so... Different. There's this whole thing about the hunter also being a part of the mountain and the reversal of roles (hunter turned hunted) but all in all, it really captures the feeling of The Hunt well.

I could go on but I think you need to watch it to truly understand what I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other movies or shows that capture The Hunt but since I adore Mushishi, it came as a pleasant surprise that there was such an episode. You should go watch it! And while you're at it, just watch the whole show-

Psst, here's the link: https://hianime.to/watch/mushishi-the-next-chapter-38?ep=1123&ep=1123

Also, if you watch it, you are obligated to listen to the opening and ending. No watcher of Mushishi skips that. Ever.

i have a billion things to do but i'm tired and really want to show you my updated ✨️tmasona✨️. the dark aligned journalist who mostly interferes with the institute, maybe helps from time to time but they still don't really tolerate her there. doesn't know about the fears and most likely only knows about three or four entities. certified monsterfucke- monster hunter, half of his life hunting creatures of the dark and maybe something else recently. :) not related to the eye, but due to the specifics of her job sometimes unintentionally feeds it
