I want to see more Luffy as an almost cryptid-like figure, leaning into the fact that he's actually kind of scary and unnerving. The strange boy in an unassuming straw hat whose smile is too wide and full of teeth, always spreading across his face when he should be running in fear. Wild black hair and dark eyes that stare straight into your soul. A laugh that's born of pure delight but sounds like the dangerous cackling of a madman, making you question What He Is. A creature who can take any shape and size, who appears in places he should never be, and when faced with death simply tells it no. Threats make him grin and drawing his blood seems only to make him stronger. Always, always hungry, and loyal to those who feed his gaping maw. A harbinger of chaos everywhere he roams, as though he were its patron saint. Luffy is actually terrifying and I need that to be acknowledged.

I set traps, i lay offerings, somenights i get so frustrated, my mind hanging on threads fraying by the second, that i can do naught more than lock the door and wait.
BUT AS I WATCH HELPLESSLY THEY EXPERTLY DISMANTLE MY TRAPS IN SECONDS, COOING AT MY FEEBLE ATTEMPTS. THEY SPARE ONLY A GLANCE AT WHAT PITIFUL OFFERINGS I CAN SCROUNGE TOGETHER, A NEW ADDITION EVERY NIGHT.
They stroll down to me dawning a ghost of a smile, so faint I wonder if it was ever there to begin. They sit next to me and they whisper. They murmer they hum until i am caught pitifully in the fantasy they craft. The guide me to the floor, i rest my head on the rot, i feel it invading my skull. The promises fall from their lips like wool shedding off to reveal coarse fur.
THEN THEY SIMPLY UNLOCK THE DOOR AND I AM LEFT ONLY WITH MISERY AND THEIR AWFUL VISAGE IN THE WIND.

jayce enduring a symbolic rendition of viktor's trauma is so painful and so, so clever.
being stricken down and immobilized through sheer accident or, in viktor's case, a cruelly random quirk that caused his disability.
then physically dragging himself from the lowest level of zaun to piltover, much like how viktor spent his youth reaching toward the promise piltover offered, but only if he could "pull himself up by the boot straps" and get there on his own. socioeconomic forces working against him be damned.
i appreciate arcane reminding us of viktor's origins - the reason he is so called to help people and, eventually, save himself - and putting jayce through the ringer - the contrast between he and viktor's lived experiences is front and center throughout season 1. the writers send jayce, and the audience, on a grueling journey to contemplate those experiences and how they've manifested in these intertwined characters.

you're in luck because i've sat on thoughts about him for years and i finally feel like i can articulate them. because michael shelley is such a well written case of tragic horror in the horror tragedy podcast. and, despite my criticisms of season 5, it really did do an excellent job in concluding his character arc with the gertrude backstory episode. in a podcast where a common in-universe theme is that knowledge, and the pursuit of knowledge, is dangerous, michael is a subversion in that his ignorance of the horrors of the world he lived in not only didn't save him, but was intentionally engineered to make him vulnerable to exploitation and harm (which, on a broader scope, emphasises the futility of the world of the magnus archives - regardless of whether you participate in or turn a blind eye to the systems at play, involved or uninvolved, you are not safe).
furthermore, i really appreciate the subversion of traditional tropes of the sacrifice as a typically female figure taken advantage of by a male father, brother, or lover, whose tragic and horrible death is used to motivate him (whether to greatness or self-destruction), with michael being a son sacrificed by his mother (or grandmother) figure, who never actually loved him and whose 'frail' and 'nurturing' qualities were weaponised incompetence used to gaslight and manipulate him - and who continues to operate successfully (at least in terms of what can be said to be 'success' in a world like the magnus archives) without being haunted by any apparent doubt about the decision she made, or any hesitation to use others in similar ways, following this betrayal. which makes the fact that he's sewn into the fabric of a being that represents lies in their most insidious form, used as a weapon to devour people and destroy their lives, all the more abhorrent in hindsight - he is forced to not only relive his trauma in an endless loop (or spiral, if you will), but to become the mechanism which enables it. michael is taken to the edge of something evil (at least from a human perspective), and pushed over the threshold with no hope of recourse. there's almost a reverse orphic quality to it - he descends into terrifying other world, one which exists side-by-side with but fundamentally seperate from his own, against his will, and looking back will only cause him pain as he's assaulted by memories of a life he will never be able to reach.
i think a lot of people forget to look past the surface with michael, despite there being an entire episode dedicated to doing so. which is understandable, he's a very outwardly expressive character - but this is intentional obfuscation to hide an incredibly damaged victim whose hatred of this part of himself is integral to his entire reason for being, and which the rejection of causes him to be unmade, incapable of existing as this contradictory nightmare any longer. it's a mercy killing, and yet it is violent and painful, because michael cannot and should not exist, and excising that graft used to muzzle the distortion is as agonising as latching it into place was in the first place. when michael-the-distortion says about michael shelley "he was born. he was pointless. and he should have died." there is an implicit longing there, a rage at the way he was used, his decisions made for him and used to imprison something else instead of ever being allowed to exercise any measure of free will. because michael shelley probably would have died for the archivist, given the opportunity, but he never got the choice.
In the art of murder, I think OC might still be alive, I mean the page is torn off but it doesn't necessarily mean the entire paper is ruined.
The paper on the dogs paws might be unrelated. I have no idea who tore the page off but I'm positive we'll meet OC again if that is because the paper isn't ruined or because Pip will draw him again I'm not sure.

Ok but when u think about it, valgrace being friends to lovers is so awesome so neat, because they never really disagree. They INSTANTLY acknowledge that they weren't actually best friends so they became that. Telling each other their worries and deepest secrets when they barely know each other. Leo's stupid line of "Leo wasn't exactly the trusting type but he trusted Jason with his life" THEY BARELY KNOW EACH OTHER BUT THEY KNOW EVERYTHING!!!! Jason knows about his mom and his hate for his fire, Leo's watched him struggle over his memories and his sister and Piper. They tease each other and get exasperated, but they do not fight and they're always agreeing with each other. Jason always defends Leo, always asks if he has a plan and does it regardless how stupid it is. Leo's just ridiculous when it comes to his thoughts on Jason, his big old "I wish I was him, I wish I could do what he could" while Jason admires Leo's skills. The ONE time they have a fight is being manipulated by charm speak and they immediately apologize over it. Just knowing throughout the series they do so much stuff together that's not seen. They defeat some evil statues or something in BoO because they play videogames together. It's a stupid plan too but they go with it because they trust each other. LEO DYING AND JASON SEARCHING FOR HIM FOR MONTHS NOT GIVING UP HOPE?!!!! LEO COMING BACK AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICING JASON'S MISSING?!!!!! even like, not in a best friends to lovers way, just in a best friends way, they are literally so tied to each other despite the fact that never had to be, they CHOSE this

On Herta station: Oh no, this rude asshole wasted valuable time interrogating poor TB who knows nothing instead of helping. Actually, he already saved everybody and tried to help TB realize what's going on so that they could defeat the culprit and take all the credit.
The Final Victor: Oh no, this murderous prick threatened Aventurine with a gun! Actually, he tried to wrestle the gun out of his hands to prevent him from shooting himself.
Penacony: Oh no, this jerk was so mean to poor Aventurine and then just betrayed him! Actually, they've been working together, and all of it was a part of their plan.
