the roller-coaster in question
every day i make choices. not the right ones, usually, but choices nevertheless.
Good omens 2 came out a few days after my birthday and you know that toy you REALLY want but after five minutes it falls apart because some idiot in a white beard and brown coat holding coffee destroyed it because i do
oh, but can you imagine what they could have had?
a starmaker bubbling over with joy, a demon questioning god on the walls of eden. a being who fell in love with an angel, fearing heaven and hell but fighting them anyway because that's what is right, what is decent. because that is who he is.
that demon would have spoken 'i love you' out-loud to his angel as soon as he heard humans using it. that crowley would have loved openly, unashamed, willing to stand between aziraphale and their worlds.
but aziraphale couldn't do any of that, and so he carried the weight of his silence on his shoulders because there is nothing worse than loneliness, is there? i love him, we're not alone, it has to be enough.
eventually, he thought, he will be able to stand hearing me say it. that day never came, and what happened?
a demon who hides behind sarcasm and pretence because he learned that is how the world, how aziraphale, wants him. a demon that never speaks of his true feelings, a demon that never admits to love, a demon that submits to an angel's will because he cannot lose him, because he refuses to lose him, no matter how high the price.
finally, he thought that day. finally i can tell him. finally we can stop pretending, finally I can stop hiding.
then aziraphale accepted an offer and after six thousand years of hoping for more, he lost it all instead.

โ ๏ธ SPOILERS BELOW FOR GOOD OMENS SEASON 2 โ ๏ธ
so we already know that Crowley has seemingly gotten his ideas of how love with humans "works" from rom-coms, with his "sudden downpour" and "they realize they were meant for each other," whereas Aziraphale references romance novels with the formal dancing and realizing they're "deeply in love."
we saw the "rain" both in season 1 AND 2 when Crowley and Aziraphale shelter under each other's wing in each opening scene. and they dance during the party in the bookstore.
BUT earlier in season 2, after the coffeeshop scene where A and C originally brainstorm how to make Maggie and Nina fall in love, Crowley mentions in the shop that once they have a "fabulous kiss" that'll work it all out.
so we have not one, but TWO scenes of sheltering in the rain, but it doesn't get them together. they dance, but they still don't get together. that leaves (in Crowley's mind, I think) one thing to finally convince people that they love each other: a kiss.
in his desperation for Aziraphale to not go to Heaven with Metatron, what does he do? he kisses him. it's his last-ditch attempt, his "if all else fails," but it still doesn't work. he's tried everything he knows and Aziraphale still leaves. and I think that hurts him just as much as A actually leaving, because maybe he thinks he really doesn't understand love at all.
I apologize for that. anyone have any thoughts on this painful headcanon? or am I way off here...
specifically the chosen name Jim, not assigned at birth
if i had a nickel for ever time a side ship became canon in a silly little gay show and one of the people had the name jim iโd have two nickels, which isnโt a lot but itโs weird that itโs happened twice
funny times that I want to spam all around about my feelings like on old facebook, but people, Iโm so happy for waiting 4 years and now Iโm not on facebook anymore, so where can I spill it?
..yeah, done with Episode 2
I just saw Episode 1 and I AM SCREASDFGHJKL
you are a genius, man
Crowley was originally the angel Kokabiel and here's why:
Just looking at this definition of Kokabiel, we know two things: 1.) that they were the angel in charge of the stars, and 2.) the ended up falling. This screams Crowley, as in the first episode of season two we are shown Crowley in his angel form literally creating the stars. He also has a map of the stars in his hand, including all the constellations.
When the galaxy comes alive, Crowley is ecstatic! But when Aziraphale asks if he had done it all himself, he says "Ah, well, I mean, more or less. I wasn't... I wasn't, um... I wasn't the original concept designer, but I worked very closely with the upstairs on it," The "upstairs" in question being God.
Continuing on this theory, Crowley then explains that what he's created is a "star factory" and then launches into teaching Aziraphale about the creation of stars and constellations--much like Kokabeil was known for.
Once Crowley is let on that the "upstairs" is going to shut everything down in about 6,000 years, Crowley is mostly upset that his stars would die. He doesn't know earth by it's name, as he would most likely never have concerned himself with anything other than stars, and when he's told that his stars are only there for humans to just look at, he gets upset and ultimately starts questioning God--a slippery slope after all, because how much trouble can you get in for asking a few questions?
Well, a lot, apparently. Crowley becomes a fallen angel, like Kokabiel, and as we see towards the finale, he still has enough power to open up Gabriel's classified documents--something only a very powerful angel could do. This would align with Crowley being Kokabiel, since Kokabiel was the angel behind creating the universe and all it's stary components.
Not to mention that Crowley has dropped hints about his true name throughout the show, constantly bringing up that they could runaway together to somewhere in the universe both heaven and hell can't find them, or to alpha centuari--a star system in the universe. This hints that Crowley knows places in the universe that others do not (since he created it), and his desire to run away into the stars is just setting up reveal it is because they are of his own creation as an angel.
Did anyone notice when Crowley was tidying Aziraphaleโs shop, the music sounded like Crowleyโs lullaby to Warlock
