Sirius: where are you going Prongs?

James: to the aquarium.

Sirius: ..why?

James: because I’m an adult! And I can do what I want??

Lily: he saw a photo of a teddy seal and now he needs one.

“And the years passed like scenes of a show. The professor said to write what you know, looking backwards might be the only way to move forward. Then the actors were hitting their marks. And the slow dance was alight with the sparks and the tears fell in synchronicity with the score. And at last, she knew what the agony had been for. The only thing that's left is the manuscript. One last souvenir from my trip to your shores. Now and then I re-read the manuscript, but the story isn't mine anymore.”

But it’s Lily Potter(Evans) if she survived Halloween 1978, but James Potter didn’t.

Lily potter is sitting in the corner, of her baby’s bedroom, by the door trying to calm and shush the both of them, while she hears James going down, because of Peter. She can hear Voldemort ordering Pete to go upstairs.

She knows she won’t live, she knows this is her last day. She suddenly thinks back to her sister, saying this, magic, would be the death of her. Oh god, she was right.

Peter opens the door and turns around to meet Pete’s eyes. (It’s Pete’s eyes, but it isn’t Pete.)

Then it clicks in Lily’s mind: he did it. He was the spy, the traitor, the one who killed Marlene. Suddenly she thinks;

She’s hiding in the corner of a room, sobbing trying to shush herself, she knows her family is dead, and she knows she won’t survive.

And now she knows how Marlene McKinnon felt, Now she knows how Joan of Arc felt.

The first time Lily saw James for James was when he was being himself. James helping a first year that was really homesick and didn’t know where to go and how to find their classes - Lily was on her way to help them - James being there first on his knees telling them it’s okay and taking their hand and walking them to their class and getting in trouble for being late but not telling the teacher why, he got a detention for being late and being disruptive, just for helping someone. Lily realising maybe he isn’t just a pure-blood slob always getting in trouble for pranks, maybe he is a good person.

For the first time in her life he realised, maybe James is a sweetheart like Sirius has been telling her.

Lily attacked James when she started liking him because she thought he slipped her a love potion, only to be mortified when she realized he hadn’t. James, of course, was ecstatic.
