So, some of you think that leo needed to be more ANGRY? And FERAL? And needed to go berserk AND needed to vent out on his crew mates for them being in a relationships and stuff? I just wanted to say that It was Jason Grace who helped Nico sort out his feelings and encouraged him but we still don't know how Nico reacted to Jason's death. Since, it was yet another death of a loved one for him..

Anyway Calypso has the mentality and maturity of a teenage girl because that's how the books framed her. By definition, she did not "mentally and emotionally grow up" as you say. Sorry, but that's how the books are written.

So if your argument is “calypso didn’t age because she’s immortal!” Then Apollo hasn’t aged, Zeus hadn’t aged, Athena hasn’t aged and are all mentally INFANTS. So what about that? Since you say that calypso didn’t mentally age how would the olympians and other gods work bc they were born immortal. My argument is that she didn’t mentally or emotionally age because there was nothing to say that it didn’t let her, while in the lotus casino it literally TELLS YOU why nico didn’t emotionally or mentally grow.

Meaning that the books say (at least the ones I’ve read) say that she says or implies she doesn’t fall in love with them when they wash up on shore!

Doesn’t say that she didn’t mentally age, didn’t imply it, didn’t do anything. At least with Nico you could CLEARLY TELL Nico did NOT mentally age! So tell me this, if calypso didn’t age, she was under a curse in the books, she didn’t know what was happening, then why did she try to guilt trip Percy into staying? Why did she hurt and abuse (I’m using abuse because a lot of other ppl agree, but you could say mistreatment.) Leo? Why did she manipulate and use Leo as a green card?

And then my final question, if she truly was mentally a teenager, then she should learn from her actions. Not mentally or emotionally aging doesn’t mean she’s permanently like that. What I mean is that they don’t learn from their actions or mistakes or they aren’t given the items to learn and grow mentally. Where does it say she permanently doesnt mentally or emotionally age?

Because it seems PRETTY WELL she learned from what has happened! That she didn’t love Leo when he washed up and tried to gaslight Percy and explained to him her curse!

Which is literally what the lotus flower does. The flower eaten causes forgetfulness and makes them loose their desire to return home. Nico was 10. He was a literal CHILD. Not teen, not pre-teen, CHILD.

The lotus casino pushes the lotus flowers into the air so they forget how long they’ve stayed there for. 70 years in the real world could be two weeks for Bianca and Nico. But the difference between Nico and calypso is one thing.

Nico didn’t mentally or emotionally grow up. Calypso did.

Yes both their ages stayed the same but Nico still was mentally a child. A 10 year old. Calypso is immortal and knew what was happening and mentally and emotionally matured, Nico did not.

Nico literally didn’t know what was happening but calypso DID. Yes technically Nico would be a senior citizen but he didnt mentally, physically or emotionally developed while in the lotus casino. Calypso did.

Now I do sympathize with calypsos curse, it’s terrible, but that shouldn’t be an excuse to defend her from the terrible things she has done.

In your Steven AU universe, for some reason, I believe that before Apollo's "death", Will and Austin lived with him and not with their mortal mothers. [I imagine that Apollo did something very meaningful and useful for Zeus and he allowed him to really raise his several future children].

It was a very cozy and peaceful place, some small town by the sea or a quiet, prosperous area, - cozy apartment or a beautiful little house. [Will and Austin were created from clay and revive by Apollo, so Naomi and Latricia were unaware of their motherhood].

Imagine what a happy little family they were - two wonderful sons and their wonderful loving father. Then Apollo fell in love with Darren and Kayla was conceived...

Will and Austin hug desperately, clinging tightly to each other under the door of the room where their younger sister is born. Then they listen to how the newborn Kayla screamed, and grandma and aunt started crying...

This is such an amazing perspective of it! It’s so sad tho too which is basically the whole AU lol

In this AU the ancient law of the gods not being able to see their kids wasn’t forced until the birth of thalia, Percy, Jason, Nico and Bianca (I can’t remember who was first, I think Thalia but I’m not sure) meaning the gods COULD spend time with their children

Now they can’t bring their kids up on Olympus out of fear chaos would happen but Apollo was good father. He would bless all the parents he had kids with in some way (like with Naomi he promoted her music career) so that they could live on their own comfortably

In the wiki it says that Austin in 14 while Kayla is 15 or younger meaning we probably don’t know their actual ages. I’m going to make Kayla 13 to make it make more sense.

With this though Will was only 2 when Austin was born and 3 when Kayla was. He and Austin don’t really remember Apollo much, but they do remember his long sunshine golden hair and his singing voice. They never blamed Kayla for what has happened, but they didn’t blame anyone because no one told them what actually happened to Apollo.

Meaning after Kayla’s birth the parents were forced to be by themselves and to support themselves without knowing what actually happened to Apollo. Zeus and the others know but not the parents or the kids.

So, in your Steven Universe AU you said that Apollo "died" when Kayla was born and since we know that Kayla is canonically an Mpreg child doeas that imply that Apollo "died" in birth?

If yes, I can already see the potential for survivors guilt related trauma for Kayla AND ALSO some really interesting family dynamics with her sibs [and maybe even the Olympians (mostly Artemis)]

Ever since Apollos technical death Olympus hasn’t really been the same. Artemis and Leto haven’t been the same. Since Kayla was technically the final nail in the coffin she is mostly blamed for Apollos “death” but technically it was Will who started to get Apollo sick

This might be just me but I feel like Hyacinthus could’ve played a huge role in the Apollo kids’s lives. So since I’m mentally unstable and very gay I have an idea!

Instead of hyacinthus being mere flowers what if they possess the soul of Hyacinthus? To mere mortals their just flowers, but to campers if their lucky enough get to see the body and soul of Hyacinthus. Demeter kids can talk to him but people don’t really believe that they can and that it’s a fake myth.

Hyacinths flowers bloom all around Apollo kids and areas no matter the weather. And whenever an Apollo kid is hurt he blooms around them like a barrier and reveals himself to the monster, sometimes being able to signal for help or scare off the monster.

Apollo kids always talk about this “myth” some saying they saw him, some saying they felt him, but no one can ever agree on if he’s real or not.

But one thing is for sure, if he can’t be with Apollo and love him, then he will be the protector of his children.
