Scientific Benefits of Fasting

PHYSICAL BENEFITS:

Every time you eat, glucose is stored in your liver as glycogen, which takes about 10 to 12 hours to be depleted. After the glycogen is used up, your body starts burning fats, which are converted to ketone bodies (used by neurons as energy) So if you’re eating 3 meals a day + snacks, your body never gets the chance to deplete the glycogen stores in your liver, in which case, ketones aren’t produced!

MENTAL BENEFITS:

Along with helping with burning fat, ketones promote positive changes in the structure of synapses, important for learning, memory, and overall brain health.

FEELING DIZZY?

This literally means your normal diet is full of sugar! Your body finds sugar is convenient to run on, since it doesn’t require all the effort to burn off that fat does. However, if you stop eating sugar, your body will re-learn to burn fat instead and you won’t feel dizzy during your fasts!

WHAT FASTING DOESN’T DO:

Burn your muscle or vital organ tissue! I repeat: Your body will not burn up your muscle or organ tissue for energy when there is fat on your body that it could use instead. Fasting for 12-72 hours??? You’ll be fine!! Like I said before, when you fast for 12+ hours your body starts burning fat, and it burns fat until there’s no more fat to burn. Only after all that (which for the average person could be as long as 50 DAYS) will it start burning muscle and organ tissues. Don’t sweat it!

NEVER FASTED BEFORE?

Try one of these to ease your way into it: 5:2 diet: limit your intake to 500 calories for two nonconsecutive days per week, then return to a healthy diet (1200+ cals) the rest of the week 8-hour diet: pack all your meals into one 8-hour period a day so your body has time to exhaust its supply of glycogen, start burning fat, and produce ketones

BOTTOM LINE:

Don’t buy into myths, do your own research, drink all your water and be smart! (**This is the condensed version! If you want to know more, my master post goes into much further detail**)

Why I love running:

it improves my mood

I burn around 70 calories per 5 minutes

it leans out your legs and arms and abs without bulking

I feel productive

decreases appetite

it increases the amount of calories you burn during the day

it clears your mind

you can’t eat and run at the same time

I can do this

One step at a time

One pound at a time

One inch at a time

One meal at a time

One fast at a time

One workout at a time

I WILL get there

I just have to have self control

How to maintain a high metabolism

So you’ve heard this probably a million times

“If you starve your metabolism will slow down and you’ll gain weight!”

Well…

that’s partially true. You won’t gain weight, but you’ll stop losing weight. And noone wants that.

So here I have advice on how to keep your metabolism on it’s toes:

Eat a different calorie intake everyday

you can plan an intake for the week, but eat differenty every day. FX: you plan to eat 3500 calories a week, and instead of eating 500 every day, eat 600 on monday, 400 on tuesday, 1000 on wednsday, fast on thursday, 500 on friday, 700 on saturday and 300 on sunday.

Exercise and bulid muscle

Muscle burns fat by just existing, so it’s important to eat some protein to keep it. Exercising will burn calories, making it easier and faster to lose weight, and it will also boost your metabolism.

Eat supplements

Eat fiber supplements, protein, vitamins etc. They usually have no calories or very few of them, and they will help you a lot.

When you’ll want to recover, slowly come back to a normal intake.

💕stay safe babes💕

This Is What I Do Every Morning.

This is what I do every morning.

You would not believe how much my flexibility has improved - I can now do the forward fold with my palms flat on the floor.

If you have more time you can hold each pose for 20 or 30 seconds.

Binged today, so gotta stay up all night and workout, and starve the next couple days

I fucking hate myself so much. I'm such a fatass, I wish I could honestly die so I wouldn't have to do anything anymore. What's the point.

Calorie Burners

Okay, to tone your body, you need to do light exercise, and it’s not even that hard, I promise. Let’s say you ate 500 calories that day: try and burn 600+ calories.

That may seem like a shit-load, but just by taking the stairs at school you can burn around 200 cals.

Exercise free calorie burners: Cold water Stairs Sleep – get enough sleep, and you can’t eat if you’re asleep Cleaning

In The Morning: You can do a butterfly stretch – this creates a thigh-gap with no muscle Drink cold water – this wakes your metabolism up Take a coldish bath/shower – it takes calories to heat you back up Eat something small for breakfast. I try to always have a bite in the morning because otherwise, I tend to binge later on.

At Night: Try and do a 300 calorie burning workout, right before you go to bed – it makes you feel really good when you fall asleep knowing you’ve rid your body of these calories Sip on a lot of water – this’ll make you pee Butterfly Stretch again Yoga is good for toning. Look up easy positions to do and then become a pro at them

Exercises

100 jumping jacks = 100 calories 100 squats = 100 calories 100 crunches = 100 calories 100 push ups = 100 calories

100 calories:   40 jumping jacks 30 crunches 20 squats 10 push ups 100 calories: 60 secs running in place 25 jumping jacks 10 push ups 20 crunches 60 secs running in place Really, you can combine these in any order and quantity. Happy starving <3

I won’t stop until,

I’m able to lay on the floor without my back touching the ground

I can make a complete circle with both my hands around my upper thigh and still have open space within it

My arms are the same size when I put them down against my sides as when I raise them (no more disgusting fat flattening against my body making them look twice as big)

I have a defined jawline

I have defined cheekbones

My fingers and hands stop being so pudgy

My collarbones visibly reach my shoulders

It’s no longer necessary for me to suck in when I sit because my stomach is just as flat sitting as it is laying down

My thighs don’t touch when I walk

My thighs don’t touch when I stand with my feet together

I can smile without my face looking twice as fat

My hipbones stick out further than my stomach

I won’t stop until I am delicate, petite, dainty, and lovely.

you know what’s really hard that I don’t see a lot of posts about? Organizing your friends into categories of “fatter than me” and “skinnier than me” just because of my ED. Like i don’t mean to, and I love all my friends equally, but it just happens. “hang out with her, you’ll look skinnier since she’s ‘fatter’” and “she’s skinnier than you, eventually you’ll look better than her”. Sometimes I hate my brain.
