Anyway please buy my book, it's a short story about a nonbinary aspec ship captain with synesthesia and autism. There's magic in it. I wrote it based on a tarot card. Check it out.
I decided to set upa GoFundMe to help organize funds for relocating. I'm losing my current housing on February 28th, 2023 and I need help gathering the funds to relocate to a new apartment. This would include things like security deposit, first month's rent, getting utilities turned on, and so forth, as well as movers, and boxes, because I am physically disabled and cannot drive/do not own a car.

They honestly did Black Dog so dirty in the Russian version of Treasure Island
Like, in other versions of Treasure Island, they make Black Dog look so cool and badass
Seriously, look at every other depiction of Black Dog
And now look at the Russian version
HE LOOKS LIKE THE RUSSIAN PIRATE VERSION OF WARIO AND I CANNOT
APPARENTLY HE HAS HIPS THAT DON’T LIE BUT NO THIGHS
Mmm no, I hate takes like this. It comes from people who think they're so above it all and think of themselves as magnanimous heros coming to save us poor unfortunate souls from our dire fates. It's most common among self-righteous centrist liberals, but leftists are not immune to that thinking either.
Do all of my political positions come from a place of self-interest? Absolutely not, no. I will fight for someone who is not me any day and everyday. Fighting for someone because they are human and deserve basic human rights and dignity (and to not be hunted/targeted by the state of bigots) is what everyone should do.
But I'm a transgender bisexual Jewish woman with medical conditions that require consistent medical attention. I have a lot of causes that, well, affect me personally and deeply. Am I not allowed to care about trans rights or women's rights of antisemitism just because they affect me and I have self-interest in one outcome?
Fighting for universal healthcare because you think everyone should have quality healthcare even if it means you'll pay more is good. Fighting for universal and because you need qualify healthcare and can't afford it is also good. They're both fighting
I'm going to be honest, "Republicans are bad because they work in self-interest" OR "self-interest is bad because Republicans do it" are worse takes than, "I want my comfort show to keep making episodes, so I'll writers striking because they deserve proper compensation."
Deciding someone's support for a cause is actually bad because they're reason isn't "pure" enough is absolutely worse.
Listen, I know it's very much a thing that utopian leftists think that religions will simply stop existing once all of our material needs are met, but that is just not the case.
Human beings need ritual. If we are deprived of ritual, we make new ritual. It does not matter if you call it religion or state or whatever it is you call it, human beings will keep making up new rituals.
You cannot stop us, and saying 'this ritual which I like and doesn't hurt anyone else is fine, but that ritual which you like and doesn't hurt anyone else is bad' is just bigotry.
When I say 'you cannot stop us,' I literally mean you cannot stop human beings from making up rituals and religions. Leave a group of six year old girls alone near a mud pit for an hour and you will come back to a newly-minted faith. We make ritual. We make culture. That is what we do.
No, Judaism will not 'naturally cease to exist' when all of our material needs are met. What will happen then is that the Jews will get Jewier, because we will have all the time in the world to study Torah and write stories and make Jewish art. If you met all of my material needs tomorrow, two days from now there would be six more hamsas, a complete bound copy of all the volumes of the Talmud, and a shit-ton of giant Jewish art prints in my house.
You cannot stop people from making up culture and religion. It is, arguably, the thing which makes us human, one of the defining features of our collective humanity. We will always make up silly songs and new religions, and the idea that we'll just give all of that up for some vanilla yogurt and taupe jumpsuits utopian existence is absurd and beyond belief.
This post is for the mentally ill and ND people who do harmful things. Those who struggle with anger, aggression, and violence. Those who are manipulative, who do and say things that hurt people. Those who do all these things and more - who don't get why it's harmful due to havig no empathy, sympathy, compassion, remorse, etc.
Doing things that are wrong doesn't make you any less deserving of a good, safe, and fulfilling life. It doesn't make you a monster. It doesn't mean you deserve pain or discrimination. It doesn't mean you deserve to be alone, ostracized, and discarded. It doesn't make your existence wrong.
You're still here with the rest of us. You still have needs, wants, and rights. Some of the things you do may not be good or excusable, but you are a whole person. You are a whole person, and you deserve better. And I hope you get that someday, whatever it means to you.
"terfs infantalise trans men while painting trans women as predatory" is such an annoying take because, yes part of it is true. but terfs have also called trans men "the final solution for women", they do also paint us as predatory! and they do infantilise young trans girls in really gross ways! they just rarely mention what they think of older trans men, most of their public-facing rhetoric around us centers on young people.
the more accurate statement then is "terfs tend to infantilise younger trans people while painting older trans people as predatory", with the following caveats: - being neurodivergent in any way lands you in the "younger" category in their minds because they're ableist fucks. - anecdotally i've found this is not necessarily reflective of age when it comes to public figures specifically, and more of how recent their coming out as trans was. - they will gladly break this to score points in public debates, though if you're in a position to get it out of them you'll find their actual thinking aligns with it. this is a well-known strategy called lying.
and i feel it's worth noting both because the predatory "tropes" around trans men are slightly different from those around trans women, and because the infantilisation of trans girls is something i rarely see talked about while being just as gross as anything else here.
Every time there's something about "straight passing" couples being not experiencing homophobia then bi people get pushed further away from their rightful community. Also this idea that trans men can perfectly pass and gain all privelages of a cis man.
People really need to take a good look at how much emphasis they place on the supposed "privelages" that someone who appears more cis and straight or male has over other LGBT people.
"Passing" in any way is entirely conditional and can be taken away the instant something slips or a stranger scrutinizes you enough. Walking on eggshells and hoping you aren't found out and risk facing violence is not this great privelage you may think it is.
Remember the trans panic defense? That realizing a sexual partner is trans is used as a defense to murder them? So they "passed" until they didn't, and it actually led to them being killed. Passing did not protect them.
Also there's this idea that any couple that appears to be man + woman will never get clocked as queer. That they can never be queer. That bisexuals don't have the same level of queerness as a lesbian woman or a gay man. But they do. They can be flamboyant, butch, femme, anything that any other queer person can be.
Look, this is probably going to end up as an unpopular post, because God knows the level of brainrot capitalism and fast consumption caused in people's brains, but I'd rather not get TV shows for a while if it means writers get their rights defended and recognized.
Entertainment can't come at the cost of fair pay, healthy work environment and ethical practices.
🗣️This is important!
America’s puritanical, homophobic, anti-vaccination, anti-sex education, “morality” mentality is killing people.

It's still morbidly hilarious to me how transphobes will say "trans people have to tell everybody they're trans!" and go on to say "we can always tell"
You can not have both, y'all.
…”Will you tag (something that is not a common phobia or trauma trigger)?” is always an appropriate request. Even if you’re asking “will you tag for the letter ‘e’,” you’re not crossing boundaries unless the person you’ve asking has already said, clearly, that they will not tag for a thing.
However, “no,” is an equally appropriate reply. It’s nice to have reasons (no I will not tag frogs because I post too many frogs and I forget, meaning that the tag will not protect you; no, I will not tag Disney princesses because it says “Disney princesses” in my blog description and you knew this was a dead dove before you took a bite), but they are absolutely not required.
“Will you tag for birds of prey?” “No. Please unfollow me if you require that tag.” is a perfectly polite exchange.
First, there was Chambers in 2019. Mostly Native cast (remaining cast was still very diverse), told the story of a Navajo main character, axed by Netflix despite a large following and fanbase.
Then, Trickster in 2020/2021. Mostly Native cast once again (remaining cast was still very diverse), told the story of a Haisla main character, axed by CBC despite a large following and fanbase.*
Then, The Wilds earlier this year. Two Indigenous main characters (Martha and Toni) (other cast was still very diverse), super important show to those in the Indigenous community (including myself), axed by Amazon Prime despite a large following and fanbase.
Now, Rutherford Falls. Mostly Native cast once again (remaining cast was still very diverse, including a non-binary Chinese-American character), told the story of a Native plus-sized woman main character (tribe is Minishonka, though that is a fictional tribe made up for the show), axed by Peacock despite a large following and fanbase.
TV, and especially streaming, execs really don’t give a fuck about Indigenous representation and Indigenous people at all.
(Safe to reblog, btw)
*I understand that Trickster is complicated by Michelle Latimer being involved in Trickster, but she could have been replaced, I watch SVU and they’ve had 6 different showrunners over the years. CBC just didn’t give a fuck to find someone else, instead they just canceled the show.
“ The odds of guessing a four-digit passcode are 1 in 10,000, and tools have been used to crack iPhone codes in the past. Apple says the chances of someone having a similar enough fingerprint to unlock a person’s phone is 1 in 50,000, and a similar enough random face tricking Face ID is 1 in 1,000,000 “
that’s a really funny way of framing it, to make it look like passcodes are weak. you know what’s twice as good as the odds given for fingerprints? a 5 digit passcode! what’s equal to the odds given for Face ID? a 6 digit passcode! every time you add a digit, you multply those odds by 10.
and that’s assuming simple numeric passcodes. the odds of guessing a 4 digit, case-sensitive, alphanumeric passcode would be a 1 in 14.7 million. 5 digits is over 1 in 916 million, 6 digit is 1 in 56.8 billion. if you throw in 32 common symbols, we get 1 in 78 million, 1 in 7.3 billion, and 1 in 689 billion. those numbers climb pretty quickly the more digits you add.
i know these aren’t the only issues with passcodes (like 24% of americans using a variation of just 8 common passcodes), but if you’re trying to push people to biometrics i guess you wouldn’t really care for that nuance anyway
character who is sun-coded but not in the traditional ray-of-sunshine way. character who is sun-coded in the sense that they burn hot and bright and powerful, that they're a raging fury of fire and passion, and that maybe, just maybe, they are destroying themselves as they do so.
i really think the saying there's no ethical consumption under capitalism has become a phrase to excuse giving money to avoidable awful companies rather than a reality check. like if you're poor there's a good chance you have no choice but to shop from brands with less than ideal practices solely bc you can't afford to buy everything ethically sourced (not to mention in certain areas it's next to impossible to find those goods in general) but when it comes to chikfila that is an optional place to eat that is incredibly mask off with anti lgbt policies....... not quite the clapback to just say there's no ethical consumption under capitalism. like YEAH but you could just rip off their sauce recipe from online 🥴
hey full offense but the ‘use the right pronouns even if the person is horrible!’ statements arent made to coddle horrible ppl, its saying ‘dont view correct pronouns as a fucking privilege that can be taken away once people decide you’ve fucked up enough’, misgendering someone on purpose is transphobic no matter what bc it equates transphobia as a ‘punishment’ for bad people, pronouns are a part of baseline human respect, its that simple
Reblog if your blog is a safe space for any mspec mono peoples!!
@genderstarbucks thanks for letting me use the image!! Credit goes to him!!
people need to realize that dissolving the lines between gender also means dissolving the lines between sexuality. you cannot say gender is fake and then say sexuality is strict and rigid.
there are multigender/genderfluid people who are lesbians and gay men at the same time. there are mspec lesbians/gays/straights who have a complex relationship with gender and their sexuality. there are gay men who are women and lesbians who are men because male isn't the opposite of female.
"conflicting" labels are a part of many people's queer experience, because the human experience isnt simple enough to be put into neat perfect categories. if you truly support trans/genderqueer people, you need to accept the fact that gender and sexuality is complex and there will be people whose identities you don't understand
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! As a person of predominantly Irish American heritage, I’ve had many an argument w/ my more racist family members about the wildly inaccurate story they tell themselves in an effort to be victims and invalidate Black Americans’ true experiences of racism and the legacy of slavery. So just spreading a dose of reality today!

Subnautica seriously has my favorite relationship between the player and wildlife in any survival game. Certain creatures pose a real threat to you, but the solution is not to become powerful and fight them. It's just to survive. Killing anything is tedious and gives you no reward, and you are severely outmatched in many cases. You remain constantly a stranger in this land, not its conqueror.
there's been a lot of obnoxious pop history trends in the last few years but the bizarre total sanitization of vikings/pirates has to be one of the worst. like sorry to the queer neopagan anarchy symbol in bio twitter user community but like. are you aware both vikings and pirates enthusiastically traded slaves
