Can confirm, turning to dust takes less time than you might think. Unfortunately little of the post-mortem is spent as a fun calcium creature.

Might I add: the death ray from The Weakest Link teleported people instead, and was yellow.

I think it's time to go back to the end of the last episode. The last scene, you know thr whole "the pieces of earth were in front of them but they didn't see them".

It's because those bits and pieces don't exist yet when they go look outside. Both in a "the earthvhasnt been destroyed yet" but also in a "what hasn't appeared onscreen doesn't exist yet".

And I love the this episode add to this with the whole "but once the camera is gone it keeps existing".

In this episode, we explore the concept of entropy, the meta side is kinder than expected and my family curse Mrs Flood.

Next time, I'm going to have recapped the Trickster episodes of Sarah Jane Adventures because that hooded git might just rematerialise.

Just going to yeet nonsense into the void so it stops taking up room in my head:

12 remembers Clara at the end of his life, is overcome by such a strong impression (around 2 and a half series) of girlboss energy that he returns to what is best described as earliest known (in-universe) settings. There's possibly thoughts about Missy there too.

13 can be very inconsistent in opinions, I like that she genuinely seems to hate the Master though. Other New Who doctors were all, "Noooo..... you were my best friend, you can be good!" This is good, but 13 thinks the one version of the Master she had gotten through to just ran away and abandoned her.

Throw in a Master who's seemingly regressed to all-out mania as a coping mechanism after getting hurt as Missy, and their dynamic makes more sense.

The comment regarding de-cloaking the Master around the Nazis was still seriously fucked up. I genuinely wonder what the writers of that era were on half the time.

Flux was pretty fun, though.

This has got me thinking. What about other universes?

Does Good Omens reset to become weirder when they start to question if angels and demons are to fight humanity at the end of days? Does Deltarune ultimately become Undertale or vice versa when all is said and done?

This is all I have rn.

I've had this (silly) theory about h2g2 for quite some time now (maybe 10 years). (And it also now includes a theory about Discworld and the Stanley Parable btw.)

So, we all know that 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything, and that the answer is not known in the universe. We also know that to obtain the answer a supercomputer had to be built and that it took millions of years to obtain that answer.

Now, at the start of the second book, it is mentionned the following:

'There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.'

Now, we can suppose that know both the question and the answer to life the universe and everything would be equivalent to discovering what the Universe is for and why it is here.

So, if as it is theorized, this has already happened, it could have happened more than one time. Maybe even 42 times? Leaving the question to be how many time the universe has exploded to become something weirder. Knowing that the universe only exists because it is meant to be something weirder than the previous universe, and had no other purpose or reason of existence than this.

Now, of course, this leaves a lot of unanswered questions. What happened to the first iteration of the universe? Why did it even exist? Was its reason for existence similar - that is that the universe was already meant to be destroyed - or was it completely different? Do one person needs to know both the question or the answer - would that perhaps be enough to drive someone to madness to the point it would destroy the universe ? - or does it simply needs to be know at some point in the universe? And also, how do we mesure weirdness? Is it something linear? Or does it varies randomly? As for someone living in a fantasy universe, with magic and gods, our universe would seems really strange and vice-versa.

And of course, with that theory, I've tried to find some other answers hidden in fictional universes, finding the hidden numbers that seems to give sense to the univers without having any other meaning.

For the discworld universe, the number that would make the most sense would be 8, as it is the number of magic, and also the number most present in the universe.

I've also considered DEATH to be the answer for Doctor Who, as there is a mini episode called 'death is the only answer', and while it would probably mostly refer to the concept of death, a string of letter can correspond to a number, if the counting system used is not decimal, and it would make sense for the result to come in the system used by the people looking for the answer.

When it comes to the Stanley Parable is where the second part of the theory gets interesting. There are two numbers in particular that have some sort of importance in the Stanley Parable: 427 and... 8. But 8 have already been attributed to the Discworld universe, so it can't be the one for the Stanley Parable right? Wrong. In the science of the Discworld, the wizzard end up creating a full universe, based only on science and not on magic: Earth (would that mean that the answer for our universe would be 8 as well? That's a possibility. Or perhaps it is another version of our world there.) So maybe the universe of the Stanley Parable had been created in the purpose of discovering of the meaning of their universe, as it was the case for Earth in the h2g2 universe. It would absolutely be something that the wizzard would have the power to do, leaving 8 being the answer, and one of the main numbers present in the tsp universe. But, if we want to go a bit further, maybe finding the answer was only one of the goals intended for the creation of this universe. Maybe the other goal was to create a simulation of the universe, starting from zero, to see how the universe reacts to the truth about it being known. And while it tries to calculate the answer for the Discworld universe, it alise runs a simulation, showing universes being created and replaced as their own truth is found out. And maybe in that case, in the tsp universe it already happened 427 times. Which leaves the final question of why the Discworld universe has not been destroyed yet at this point? Maybe they have managed to figure out the question before the answer, and run the simulation about what would happen if both were known and by seeing the result decided to never look up the answer. Maybe they still haven't checked the result at the moment this happens. Or maybe, it has. Maybe the Discworld universe is long gone, leaving behind just a simulation that just reached the iteration 427 and that will keep running for eternity.

If Doctor Who was what I was looking for all the time, I'd have probably gotten bored tbh.

I don't like everything on the menu, but a world of the most wonderful pies will get boring no matter how good the pies are. Even a restaurant gives you a palette cleanser so you can fully enjoy the courses of the meal, and aren't debating whether the starter is better or worse than the main because those two were had so close to one another despite serving fundamentally different functions.

Perhaps the reason some people don't like everything Doctor Who has to offer is because it's not even what they're looking for. That's fair.

Credit to Jurassic Park as a fictional work, they at least added the DNA from an unrelated species to the existing DNA, regardless of how unrelated it was.

I mean, it's stupid to use frog DNA but at least they STARTED with the original creature.

I've thought since the late 2010s, start with what you have, see how it can be combined to create the most complete sample and extrapolate the rest to try and create a decent approximation of enough genetic data to grow the sex cells.

People who have a better grasp of biology could certainly improve on this rough idea, I don't know how to create the conditions to grow the egg and I'm not convinced doing so in a live surrogate as with cloning is entirely possible for a long-extinct mammal.

To anyone who follows me, I don't care about nor trust Colossal Biosciences anymore (The people behind the "Wooly Mice"). They have proven themselves to be headline-chasing grifters after this latest stunt. They are claiming to have de-extincted *Aenocyon dirus*, aka the Dire Wolf, by editing just 20 genes from the the DNA of a Grey Wolf (*Canis lupus*) to make this thing:

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

If it wasn't clear from their scientific names, Grey Wolves and Dire Wolves aren't remotely related to one another aside from being Canids, despite what pop culture like Game of Thrones would have you believe. If they did look like each other, it would have had to be via convergent evolution, as they only shared a common ancestor over 5 million years ago.

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

This distinction, however, isn't found in the publicized articles about this so-called resurrected Dire Wolf and makes their claim that they brought the Dire Wolf back by simply editing *20* genes from the genome of a Grey Wolf laughable. A Dire Wolf would have shared more in common genetically with a Maned Wolf (*Chrysocyon brachyurus*) or Bush Dog (*Speothos venaticus*) than it would with a Grey Wolf.

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

Bottom line, don't fall for whatever this company is trying to tell you. If the Dire Wolf were to be brought back, it wouldn't be via something like this, and certainly wouldn't *look* like this. If you want an idea as to how a real Dire Wolf would look like in life, here is some fantastic paleoart by artist Mauricio Antón:

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

Addendum: I seem to have partially miscalculated Dire Wolf genetics. They were not closer to Maned Wolves or Bush Dogs, but they were still not closely related to Grey Wolves. They were basal members of Canini, related to canids like Jackals (genus Lupulella) but distinct from them. I am sorry for this misinformation in my attempt to correct other misinformation. My main point, however, is still correct.

As someone from a more average family, I’ve always been fascinated by your anecdotes about your upbringing. What’s it like to have parents so deeply immersed in fandom, and when did you realize that most kids’ parents have zero familiarity with fandom stuff?

as soon as I brought up renfaires and D&D and filk songs and cthulhu carols at school and got bullied about it :/ made it pretty obvious nobody knew or cared what I was talking about

But it was nice! Being raised in fandom, a thing built entirely from open enthusiasm for things you love, taught me to pursue things not because they were popular or What Was Expected Of Me, but because I loved them. I think it laid some major foundations in my worldview that helped me avoid a lot of normative expectations that wouldn't have worked for me, just by teaching me from minute one that things that are weird and unpopular can be perfect for you, and things that seem to work for everyone else can not work for you, and that's okay.

Once you've internalized "this seems to be something everyone does/likes/wants, but the thing I want seems to be almost unheard of - and yet I still want it" it may be easier to apply this to things like recognizing one's orientation (in my case "this all seems boring and weird and extremely limiting, but everyone acts like it's normal and great, so I think I'm just gonna… not do it"), pursuing unorthodox careers, and just… trying the weird things and seeing what works.

Identifying the things you love doing is already a difficult exercise, and it's made much more difficult by artificial filters like "these things are Cool And Sexy while these other things are Cringe And Weird and Should Not Be Liked." Being able to decouple your brain from the high school popularity contest makes the search for your passions that much easier, and I think I started with a serious leg up thanks to the guidance and unconditional support of two absolute nerds.

Holy s***, almost forgot Kane Chronicles, Perry Johanson, Magnus Chase et. all. Riordan is a very good author to binge read. He's not perfect for being inclusive but he sure does try. Maybe too much. If you've only read Peter Johnson and Heroes of Olympus, you're missing out. I much prefer Kane Chronicles and Magnus Chase, and Daughter of the Deep is very good.

Erm, trying to think of more fantasy for teens and young adults is hard. That's all I have for stuff you can binge read.

The House of Secrets trilogy and Spiderwick Chronicles are both good, Narnia is alright if you can endure the racism and hot devil analogues in your area.

The Power of Five series is quite good for something on the darker end, but there's an uncomfortable use of colonialist language in the second book and it's not the easiest to get through.

Tolkien's shorter stories; such as those in Tales From the Perilous Realm and his Letters from Father Christmas are very good.

As far as other things you can binge read, A Series of Unfortunate Events and All the Wrong Questions are two separate stories from the same universe penned by Lemony Snicket.

Jeeves and Wooster is great, especially with the short stories. It massively improved my writing around the end of high school, though the humour not be for you.

I'd recommend not binge reading the Sherlock Holmes short stories because they can be quite a pain to get through. The full length ones are much better but regardless, Conan Doyle likes to get sidetracked and after forcing my way through the full volume of stories I can understand where his hate was coming from.

Just don't try Bond unless you're an edgy teen, preferably a boy. The George Smiley books by John le Carré are far better spy stories and they're not as well, they're not as outdated by even the standards of their own time period. From Russia with Love is pretty good but doesn't hold a candle to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Just a general recommendation, I never tried binge reading le Carré. Alex Rider by Anthony Horowitz is a decent Bond alternative for less edgy teenage boys.

The Hunger Games is still as relevant as ever. Read it. Then read the other two books by Suzanne Collins. She's a good writer.

Misc books I recommend include Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz, The History of Bees by Maja Lunde, The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley, Ash Mistry is great if you like Riordan and want a similar take with Indian belief (though I've only had the pleasure of reading the first book), Good Omens if you can get a pre-loved copy is mostly Pratchett and if you read enough Discworld you can tell who he wrote (I miss the four other horsemen of the apocalypse, why aren't they in the show).

Give narrative history a shot as a way to learn history, try the other work authors you like have made and sorry for the long ass post.

Have Watson bashing on Sherlock before Holmes even got addicted to opium:

Ya know what? Even before JK Rowling outed herself as a substandard primate, I wasn't a big fan. Harry Potter is the least bingeable fantasy series I've read.

Lord of the Rings? Perfect for binge reading.

Discworld? Streaming services envy the variety.

Harry Potter? Tonal whiplash like there's no tomorrow. Went from kids books to being for edgy teens that don't want to be embarrassed yet.

At least How to Train Your Dragon doesn't try to change demographic that quickly. It actually matures over the series and takes time to transition, instead of just switching to a different style out of nowhere.

Do you guys think the reason so much fanart exists for the voices is not because of them being great characters (all the characters in STP are), but instead because we spend more time in our own heads than we ever will with a version of the princess?

I get it. They're inherently relatable because they reflect our previous actions through any route and set the tone of each chapter. They bicker with us and are able to see every option we take.

But, maybe the princesses are underrated. As in, she's always an outsider. How quickly would she be more beloved if the voices would shut up and let us do our stuff, or if they were seperate from us?

How then would we judge the impulsive contrarian, the weak-willed hero or the depressed cold? Would we appreciate paranoid were he more than a life support?

Ask yourself that, and ponder it awhile. Don't say it to anyone. Just an hour of your independent thoughts, clear of little voices.
