In the wars, Kyle thinks he can outmanoeuvre fate itself. He constructs feathers from facts and wax from willpower. Too clever for caution. Too stubborn for surrender.
Stan beckons him higher. Stan might be cursed to pay his father’s debts to Zeus in the form of labour, but this doesn’t stop the son of Apollo from dazzling Kyle. It doesn’t cost him his radiance – his soft edges, his scarred hands.
Kyle wonders why he can’t go higher. Why he and Stan can’t be together. Admiration turns to protective recklessness, wax melts in the hands of the gods.
The moment before the fall is the sweetest. Suspended in brilliance, the son of Athena almost believes he belongs in the sky. Then, the wax softens, the wings falter, he – and his hubris – plummet.

This declaration meant that Hijab-wearing women don’t have the right to get higher education. Some will, unfortunately, give up on their dreams and some will be forced to remove the hijab to get an education. “I was in a school establishment where wearing a hijab was forbidden. Therefore, every morning, when I go to school, I had to take it off and put it in my bag.
