Mikey's first word was "Daddy," followed by about ten minutes of giggling as Splinter cried over him. It was immediately followed by "eat."
Leo's first words were: "Daddy, he doesn't like the yellow one," after Splinter dared to try and feed Donnie pineapple when the twins were three. Splinter was so flabbergasted that he took Leo's word on what Donnie liked until they were fourteen (he was never wrong, but Splinter wanted to get better at knowing his kids).
Donnie's first word was "Blue," said in the most heartbreaking whimper while he was sick and therefore separated from his brothers; Leo has never let him live it down. He was only a little over a year old, but had always been vocal about what he did and did not want.
Raph didn't speak until he was ten; his first words were "Step off, bitch!" At a stranger who tried to pick Mikey up while they were playing near the sewer grate.
So in Rise there’s a small running gag where whenever one of his family members try to assume what Leo’s doing it cuts to him doing basically the opposite of what they’ve just said.
Raph: Hey! Where’s Leo?
Mikey: I’m sure wherever he is, he’s trying to save us
Raph: Leo probably talked his way straight into Big Mamma’s dungeon
But the interesting thing about this gag is the reverse isn’t true, when Leo guesses his families actions he’s almost always correct in predicting their actions
Leo: Look I bet the only reason we’re here right now is ‘cause Donnie inputted coordinates
Donnie: After inputting Shredder’s previous coordinates on the X-Y-Z and D for Donnie axis, I have calculated that this is the sight of our final resting spot
Leo: Mikey Razzed his Tazz
Mikey: Whip-o-Rama!
Leo: April finally used her crane license
April: ‘Why would you get a crane license April?’ BECAUSE THIS!
Leo: And Raph is going to put it all together in a plan to defeat that led head with this mystic collar
Raph: Wow Leo that’s remarkably accurate
Leo being able to predict his families actions to a near perfect accuracy shows his skill as a strategist & potential as a leader but the fact that the reverse isn’t true, that Leo’s family CAN’T seem to predict Leo’s actions to a almost humorous degree shows that while Leo has an understanding of his family, his family fails to truly understand him.
I just can’t stop thinking about the fact that Leo knows his family far better than they know him.

Some More Disaster Twins Headcannons (Happy and Sad):

-●- Leo and Donnie will sometimes walk into the other twin's room, make direct eye contact with each other, knock something over, insult them, and then leave.
-●- When one of them comes home, they will greet each other with variations of "Sup fucker", "Hey piss baby", "Lol wussup loser", "I'm home dipfuck", etc.
-●- They both know decent Spanish, but mainly use it just to bully each other and swear without getting caught.
-●- Leo loves sweets, but sometimes Donnie can't handle them very well. So if Donnie starts to get sick from whatever sweet he is eating, he just hands the rest of it to Leo, who gladly takes it and eats the rest.
-●- Both twins are heavy sleepers, to the point where you have to violently shake or yell at Leo to get him fully up and you have to double check that Donnie actually awake and not just talking in his sleep.
-●- One of the twins will say "floor time", which means it is mandatory for both twins to lay on the floor and vibe for a while.
-●- Leo will open up a container of mints and immediately Donnie will look up at him and stick his hand out for one. It's become a game for Leo to see if he can get a mint without Donnie noticing. He has never won this game. Sometimes Donnie will even emerge from another room. It's a little spooky-
-●- They did and still do matching costumes for Halloween. They've done things like an angel and devil, a witch and a black cat, horror movie killers, etc. Sometimes they suck Mikey and Raph into their plans as well. Also both twins are horror movie junkies and like to discuss how stupid some of the victims are in the movies.
-●- Donnie likes to use insults that consist of "(insert word ending in '-inkle') + fuck". Examples of this are "dinklefuck", "kinklefuck", crinklefuck", etc. Leo does not and will never understand this.
-●- Leo and Donnie are both medics in the family. All of the family knows first aid and basic life support, but Donie and Leo both know critical life support. I like to think Leo learned this from Donnie on the occasion that Donnie is down for the count and someone is severely injured.
-●- Donnie thrives with biology and mathematics, but he absolutely despises anatomy because of the sheer memorization. Surprisingly, Leo thrives with anatomy- which annoys Donnie.
The Sad Ones:

-●- Growing up, the twins were often pitted against each other (intentionally and unintentionally). This caused resentment when they were younger, and still some now, because it was a constant battle of "Why does Donnie do this better than you?" and "How come Leo can do this but you cant?"
-●- When they were younger (about ages 10-15), the twins could barely be in the same room without arguing.
-●- Donnie has had PTSD and severe depression since he was a kid, however he refuses to take medication for his mental health issues on account of a bad experience he had with them and "not trusting himself" (take that as you will). His PTSD also contributes to his reluctance to physical touch.
-●- The mere thought of Leo being smarter than Donnie in something makes Donnie very anxious. And on the other end, the thought that Donnie may be stronger at times makes Leo anxious.
Do you think with Donnie being a soft shell he ever made like hyper realistic battle shells that look like his soft shell and would just leave them around the lair to scare his brothers

Au idea where drax has a total morality shift and decides to actually help raise the turtles with splinter (listen, i have no clue how this would happen/ work, i just wanted an excuse to draw them as a family))
i have a nonsensical au idea in my head where chuuya does decide to take up lippman’s job, but he does it after dazai’s defection, so for years dazai is stuck with his ex’s face staring at him from every billboard. also, because he’s dazai, he obviously tells no one of his history with chuuya, so it just sort of becomes a thing in the agency that dazai has beef with chuuya-nakahara-from-from-the-forbes-highest-paid-actors-list.
atsushi: dazai-san hates chuuya nakahara...? the one in the movies....?
*cue incoherent seething noises from dazai somewhere in the background*
