"Nice characters are boring" to YOU. I love characters who no matter what, will always have genuine love for humanity in their heart. Characters who dance and laugh and sing with sincerity. Characters who believe in others, and are willing to extend a helping hand to people when no one gave them the same luxury. Characters who have gone through so much but believe, no matter what, that humanity and life is something beautiful and worth protecting
You know what? Fuck it. Reblog this post gushing about your current hyperfixation. Idc what it is. Strawberries? Talk about how much you love them and what cool stuff you know about them. A TV show or book? Make long paragraphs gushing about it. Idc. Need to see more people talking about their hyoerfixations.
another thing avatar the last airbender does well, aang is The Chosen One, but he's not the only one fighting back against the fire nation. in like, every episode we meet another group of people who were already organizing against the fire nation or who the gang convince to organize against the fire nation. and the final battle isn't just one big fight between aang and ozai, it's several smaller fights between people on aang's side and people on ozai's side (and also one big fight between aang and ozai).
I don't know if you've done this before but what are some good ways to describe speech?

His voice was deep like the rumbling of the earth.
She had the voice of a singer, smooth and rich like chocolate.
Their voice reminded him of spring rain.
He often paused in his speaking, like a car radio that had lost signal.
She had a lilt to her voice that made it seem like she was asking a question.
Their voice was monotonous, threatening to put her to sleep with every word.
He couldn't put her voice into words. It was... otherworldly.
Her voice was brittle, as if she were on the verge of tears.
Their voice was authoritative. Their words carried like a loud command.
His voice, unapologetic and unwavering, made her shrink back.
Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Their words were cold with anger.

one of the funniest things about percy exploring the mythic world is that unlike other childrenās fantasy stories, there is absolutely no starry-eyed wonder, instead percyās just going āah fuckā at the tenth vaguely greek looking structure or yet another unexplainable magical occurrence. more than excitement at discovering this new world, he is just so tired of all the bullshit surrounding him 24/7 and i think itās just so valid.
percy finding out his dad is a god and immediately going to confront him is so funny to me. like he really said āeither iām catching a child support check or heās catching these handsā
a good day, for me at least, consists of a hot water bottle and nice cup of tea whilst watching old school Disney/Ghibli films, listening to lo-fi Hozier music and wearing a cozy blanket-jumper with fairy lights on
I never realised how cozy and content this would be. 10/10 would recommend
Bruce Wayne is a dad in many different ways and for many different reasons, but chief among them is his ability to know that one of his kids is sick just by looking at them or hearing them breathe.
He can diagnose a fever with just the back of his (gloved!) hand on their forehead. He knows when theyāre about to be dizzy before it even happens. He is A Dad.
genuinely stunned at the fantastic choice for Percy not to pray to his absent and unknown fatherālike he did in the booksābut to his mother.
the show is really taking us to one of riordanās central theses straight off the bat.
parenthood isnāt about power and legacy and the recognition of shared blood.
Itās about the incredible act of showing up for your childāagain and again and a-fucking-gain. Thatās how you inspire respect. Thatās how you become a childās patron and beloved god.
Iām sorry but Percy being like āohhh so theres gotta be three guys that go on a life-threatening war-preventing quest. great for them. let me know when you find them. or donāt. lmaoā and then trying to dip Is so Percy of him I canāt
thinking about the batkids annoying each other and one of them just go "god i was an only child before bruce i miss it so much"
and then there's just a collective agreement and they're all staring at each other in silence after because somehow they forgot NONE of them had siblings before this
percy shouting at dionysus that he is not poseidon's but sally jackson's son is something i never knew i needed. and he just goes on to prove it by praying to his mother instead of his father, which is just *chef's kiss*
Percy @ Annabeth: I picked you because Iām not sure weād ever be friends
Book readers:
I'm sorry, but this is an extremely funny author cameo to me. He doesn't say anything and no one even acknowledges he's there. Who is he? Another teacher? A Yancy board member? Who knows, but he's here! I'm obsessed.
Back at it again.
Now with Alfred
Do you think Young Justice has picked up sayings from each other? Like do they say fraggin' or oh Hera in an everyday conversation. they already call everyone 'Kid'. Like Kon in the middle of Kansas 'THANK Hera! That's over.' And all the civilians are like 'wtf?'
Nuffink: Iām 5, so I get 5 cookies
Hiccup: Nuffink, thatās not really how it works
Tuffnut: *shoving 29 cookies in his mouth*
wait a fucking second are you telling me that grover got both percy and nico into mythomagic so that they'd be familiar with the gods and heroes and monsters they'd be hearing about for the rest of their lives???? is mythomagic a standard part of satyr protection protocol??????
while we're on the topic of talking about changes the pjo show made that i love, im glad they didn't push the whole Annabeth saying she and Percy *have* to be enemies because athena and Poseidon have beef. Instead she's just this cryptid autistic strategist 12 yr old who stalks Percy and pushes him into the water. She's like "hmm this white boy will perfectly serve my purpose and schemes" and she's so real for that
Luke: You can't force the gods to do anything
Percy "pay your freaking child support" Jackson: Bet
Chiron and Mr D: now that you've trained at camp for one (1) week it's time for you to embark on a quest to retrieve Zeus' lightning bolt and stop all out war from breaking out amongst the Gods.
Percy: are you aware that i am twelve years old
Chiron and Mr D: this is your dad's will
Percy: is he aware that i am twelve years old
The best part of the percy jackson books is that from percy's perspective hes just an easygoing funny cool guy who seems pretty harmless but the moment you see him from someone elses pov hes terrifying. Just a crazy good fighter, a force of nature killing machine, literally gets mistaken for a god in disguise. But he doesnt see that side of himself at all because hes too busy arguing with authority figures and respecting women. I love him
Angelo Morbelli (Italian, 1853ā1919) - A View Of The Isola Bella
okay but like the way they introduced the fatal flaws was so subtle and soooo insanely good. like alecto playing on annabeth's pride to get her to give up percy versus medusa appealing to percy's loyalty to get him to give up annabeth and grover. sooo good fr fr.
Bonus:
āPercy, you can't ship Medusa's head to Olympus.ā āWhy not?ā
