New Beginnings?

So this story is inspired by gglitch1dd’s post about Small town My Hero Academia. Honestly go read her story Sweet-bee if you like Kiribaku x reader; it’s amazing! I’ve reread it so many times.

So my story is loosely inspired (I made some changes but barely) and involves an OC. After reading her post and remembering the first season of Once upon a Time, I couldn’t get the idea out of my head and decided to write it. Very much just for fun and considering continuing it; I just don’t have the ending figured out.

Mostly fluff. Let me know if there is anything; triggers or errors.

Italics are thoughts.

Enjoy!

Summary: an unknown quirk sends all of UA and some others to a small town... in an alternate reality! No memories of their real lives and no quirks. A calm, peaceful life where everything is perfect. A bit too perfect.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 A new life?
Lizelle holds Eri close under the desk as a villain rant and raves through the school’s PA system. The red feather necklace around Lizelle’s neck shake as Hawks sends his feathers throughout the building to find the villain.
Class 1A and 1B had gathered for a joint training session with most of their mentors also there to see the progress. Lizelle was there to keep watch over the students’ emotional states as they go through the course because of her quirk ‘Colourful Emotions’.
While she is Hawks’ personal assistant, she is a family friend of Present Mic and had been living with him and Aizawa since she was a teenager until she was old enough to care for herself. She had become close to the 1A class and Eri. And ever since working with Hawks, Mirko had become a good friend.
Everybody had gathered for the training session when something shook the building and a bunch of goons invaded the premises. Lizelle had grabbed Eri who was sitting with her and took cover under Present Mic’s desk while he went down from the presenter booth to join the fight. Then who they assume is the main boss started making threats over the announcement system.
Lizelle focused on the villain’s voice to hear the last part of his speech. He chuckled darkly:
“Aren’t you heroes tired of it all? Don’t you wanna live a normal life…?”
Lizelle gasped as she noticed a strange mist filling the room and everywhere else.
“… and leave the rest of us alone?”
Lizelle peeked over the over desk to notice all the heroes starting to faint. Her necklace stills and she knows it got to Hawks as well. She coughed trying to get the mist out. She heard Eri cough as well.
“Eri-berry, hold your breath.”
Both she and Eri hold their breaths but then a blinding light fills everybody’s vision before it went pitch black.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lizelle groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. She looked around the bedroom while reaching for her phone to shut off her alarm. She yawns, stretches and runs a brush through her long golden blonde hair before making her way out, down the stairs and into the kitchen where Hizashi Yamada otherwise known by his radio show personality, Present Mic is busy cooking breakfast.

“Morning Uncle Zashi.”

“Morning Lizzy. How did you sleep?”

“Pretty well. One thing is for sure. The bed was not the reason for Shinso’s insomnia.”

Hizashi chuckled: “Glad to hear it’s not that at least.”

She smiled as she sat down.

“Thanks for letting me stay in Hitoshi’s old room for now.”

Hizashi smiled at her from the stove: “No problem. You know you are like my own daughter. I’ll always help.”

Lizelle smiled: “Why couldn’t you be my real dad?”

“Then I would to have had you when I was 9.”

“Well you were a flirt since you were young if Aunt Nem is to be believed.”

The two laugh at that.

“Yet I met my soulmate in high school and won him over,” He pressed a hand to his heart.

“More like you didn’t leave me alone.”

The two turn to see Shouta Aizawa walk into the kitchen carrying a very sleepy Eri.

“You didn’t exactly try to get rid of me. C’mon admit it, deep down you liked me.”

Aizawa shakes his head at his husband. He put Eri adjacent to Lizelle’s left before walking to kiss Hizashi.

“Zashi, the pancakes.”

Hizashi looked over to see the pancakes starting to look a little too brown. He quickly moved the finished pancake to a plate. Lizelle smiled at the cute scene before turning her head to the tired girl rubbing her eyes.

She gave a quick tickle to the little girl’s sides: “Morning Eri-berry.”

Eri gave a small shriek of laughter. Lizelle giggled.

“Morning Uncle Shou.”

“Morning Lizzy,” he sits down adjacent to Lizelle’s right.

Hizashi places the food down and greets his daughter with a kiss to her head.

“So what is your plan for today?” Aizawa asks Lizelle as they start to eat.

Lizelle shrugs: “Explore the town, look at living places, look for a job, maybe even visit Shinso on his break.”

“Y’know, if you can’t find anything, you are more than welcome to come help me or Shouta at our jobs.”

“Thanks Uncle Zashi but I don’t see how much help I’ll be at the Sheriff or Radio station. Thanks for the offer; I’ll definitely keep it as a back up.”

“Daddy, Papa, can I show Lizzy around town?” Eri asks with her mouth full pancakes.

“Eri, swallow before you talk,” Aizawa gently said while Hizashi jokingly presses her chin up, “I don’t know.”

“Oh come one Dadzawa,” Lizelle grinned, “Eri knows the town better than me and I can keep her safe.”

Aizawa sighed but looked doubtful.

“Babe this whole town knows Eri is the sheriff’s daughter and not to mess with her. Eri will actually keep Lizelle safe, especially if the League decide to be annoying today. They know not to mess with your family,” Hizashi reasons, “Besides Lizelle is right. Eri knows the town better and this way Lizelle won’t get lost.”

Aizawa sighs again, knowing Hizashi is right and that he is fighting a losing battle.

“Fine, you can show Lizzy around.”

“Thank you, Daddy.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll keep each other safe,” Lizelle gave the little girl a side squeeze.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eri kisses and hugs her dads goodbye.
“See you two later.” Hizashi waves.
“Be safe,” Aizawa calls after them.
“We will,” Eri giggles.
“Bye Dadzawa. Bye Papa Mic.”
“Bye girls.”
The two girls set off down the street to the right in the direction of what looked like a school. Currently mostly empty since it was Saturday. Maybe some overtime teachers or sport teams, other than that a ghost place.
“That’s my school!” Eri excitedly points.
“Oh really? Remind me what grade are you in?”
“Grade 2. Mr. Togata is my teacher.”
“Wow you’re getting big,” Lizelle squeezes Eri’s left hand.
As they turn the corner, Eri spots something that makes her squeal. Lizelle tightens her grips when she feels the little girl wants to run. Standing outside the gates are two men who turn in their direction upon hearing Eri. Seeing Eri, the two men wave. Lizelle makes sure they get safely across the street. Only then does she let the little girl run to them.
“Hi Eri!”
The tall blond picks up the girl as she happily squeals.
“Hi Mr. Togata! Hi Mr. Deku!”
The green haired man next to them gently pats Eri on the head: “Hi Eri.”
The man Eri calls Deku turns to Lizelle. He greets her with small nervous smile.
“Hi I’m Izuku Midoriya, understudy to Mayor All Might.”
Lizelle shakes his hand.
“So Deku?” She asks curiously.
He shrugged: “A mean nickname I was given when I was younger. I’m trying to put a more positive spin on it.”
Lizelle nodded in understanding: “I get that.”
The taller blond shook her hand: “Hi My name is Mirio Togata. I’m Eri’s teacher.”
“Nice to meet you. I’m Lizelle. I’m a family friend of Hizashi Yamada. I just moved to town and I’m staying with them till I find a job and my own place. Eri is busy showing me around town.”
“Well welcome to Yuuie,” Mirio says with smile.
“And if you’re looking for a job just to keep busy, there is always the Midnight and Fatgum diner/bar and B&B and the library are always looking for volunteers,” Izuku suggest, “If it’s more a specific profession, Yuuie has a lot of businesses. Sure you’ll find something.”
Lizelle nods gratefully: “Thank you. I shall look into those places,” she looks to Eri, “C’mon sweetie we still got a lot to see. Maybe we can even go visit your brother if we are there on his break.”
“Yay!” Mirio gently puts her down.
She grabs Lizelle’s hand again and they continue walking down the street waving goodbye to Mirio and Izuku.
Walking across the street they pass a park and start passing some houses. About halfway Eri points out the Mayor’s House with trees surrounding it. They cross the street and tree line into the second main street where by the looks of it, is the most action. People walk up and down, doorbells constantly clinging as people enter and leave.
Eri quickly tugs Lizelle to cross to the right of the street while throwing slightly nervous looks to the biggest building on the corner of the left block.
“Everything okay Eri-berry?”
“Daddy always says to avoid that place and be careful here.”
Lizelle looks at the building. Two shops occupy it; Shigaraki’s bar and Dabi’s tattoo parlour. It’s a little rundown but otherwise okay. Lizelle can’t help the negative feeling that reaches her, making her feel on edge. The place definitely looks like trouble. Or at least definitely not the place for a little girl to be.
A man walks out of the parlour. He leans against the outside wall and lights a cigarette. She can only see the tattoos under his eyes, jaw, neck and wrists but Lizelle is positive he is probably covered in them as well as multiple piercings.
Was the flame from his lighter blue?
He pulls the cigarette from his mouth and releases a puff of smoke. Through the smoke he catches Lizelle’s eye. He looks her up and down with his piercing blue eyes before giving a nod. Lizelle gives friendly smile in return and then focuses back on helping Eri across the street.
“New plaything?” a female voice asks from the door.
Dabi turns his head to the blond girl: “Nah that Aizawa brat was with her. Unless we want the Sheriff to strangle us we better not mess with what’s his.”
“Aw, not fair,” Toga complains. Dabi simply shakes his head.
At the corner Eri points to a building on the left block behind the building on the street.
“There’s Dadzawa’s work…”
Then she points to the slightly L-shaped building diagonally in front of the Sheriff’s Station.
“… and there’s Papa Mic’s.”
Lizelle nods.
They past the Post Office, an apartment building behind a small park and past another building they reach the Midnight and Fatgum diner/bar.
“Wanna a milkshake, Eri-berry?”
Eri’s eyes sparkle as she looks up at her: “Can we?”
“Sure. C’mon let’s go in.”
The bell rings as the two enter. They walk up to the counter and Lizelle helps Eri up. A beautiful girl with long blue hair comes walking out from behind.
“Nejire!”
“There’s my little berry. Your daddy called and said I’m off babysitting duty today,” the girl turned to Lizelle, “Hi, I’m Neijre Hado, waitress and the occasional babysitter for this little angel.”
“She is also the town’s resident beauty queen,” a large man comes walking out from the kitchen, almost squatting to get through the doorways.
“And this is Taishiro Toyomitsu otherwise known as Fatgum, best cook in Yuuie,” Nejire giggled, tapping the man’s belly, “And he knows it.”
The man gives a jolly laugh.
Lizelle smiled, enjoying the wholesome energy in this place.
“I’m Lizelle, I’m new and a family friend of this little one’s family.”
“Welcome to Yuuie Miss. We hope you enjoy your stay here,” Fatgum smiles warmly.
“Thank you,” she smiles back. He feels like an uncle.
“So what can we get for you?”
“I’d like a chocolate milkshake and some fries. You Eri?”
“An apple pie and strawberry milkshake please.”
Nejire winked at the two: “You got it.”
Fatgum moves back into kitchen and Nejire cuts out a slice of apple pie for Eri. She then hands a small A6 card to Lizelle, full of numbers.
Upon Lizelle’s confused look, Nejire explains: “Numbers of the business around here. If you are ever in need of a handyman the mechanics shop is the place to call and ask for Eijiro Kirishima. That mountain of man can fix anything.”
Lizelle smirked: “Mountain, huh?”
“Well he is Fatgum’s nephew.”
“Ah, that explains it.”
Nejire giggled: “He works at the shop with his cousin Tetsutetsu and it is owned by Mei Hatsume. That girl is genius with machines and Tetsu seems like he bend steel, almost has if…”
“He is steel himself,” Lizelle gets a weird look on her face before shaking her head. She lifts the page, “The others?”
“Right. The mechanics is behind the sheriff station by the way. Right next to us is the vet/pet shelter run by Tsuyu Asui and Koji Koda. Then across from us is Ojiro’s dojo and next to that we have our Electrician Denki Kaminari. He’s good but don’t worry if he shocks himself. It happens from time to time.”
At Lizelle concerned look Nejire quickly adds: “He’s fine. He is practically Pikachu by now.”
“As long as he is not Pichu,” Lizelle shakes her head.
Nejire laughs, tipping her head: “Well…”
Shaking her head, she continues: “I’m assuming you walked past the school? And of course where the sheriff and radio station is?”
Lizelle nods: “Eri also pointed out the Mayor’s house to me. And the bar and tattoo parlour I was warned from.”
Lizelle gently pats Eri on the head.
Nejire nodded with a tight mouth: “Yeah the league… aren’t bad but they are trouble. So best to try stay away as much as you can.”
Lizelle raises and eyebrow: “The League?”
“The League of Delinquents.”
“I saw a man with tattoos and piercings smoking outside the tattoo place.”
“That’s Dabi. He seems chill, but you don’t want to piss him off. He has an affinity for arson. The one you really have to careful around is Shigaraki. He runs that place and the league. Also Toga; she’s a blonde girl with sharp teeth. She has a weird fascination for blood and sometimes gets a little stab happy. So just be careful.”
“And Shigaraki?”
Nejire shudders a little: “Trust me you’ll know. He just seems dangerous.”
Lizelle nods. Geez you guys go on about these guys like their villains.
Nejire puts back on her smile: “Anyways, we also have Rikido Sato’s bakery, Hanta Sero’s restaurant, Tamaki Amajiki’s flower shop; that’s Fatgum’s adopted son and Mirio’s Boyfriend.”
Lizelle raises her eyebrow with a smile: “Ok cute.”
Nejire giggled: “And both are my boyfriends.”
Lizelle gasped: “Lucky you! Kinda jealous. Of you and them.”
They both laugh.
“You?” Nejire bends her hand at the wrist in a silent question.
“I’m…” Lizelle snaps her fingers into a finger gun/thumbs up and peace signs.
“Ah,” Nejire nods in understanding, “Ok then there are the builders (that are behind Denki and Ojiro’s places), the library’s number, if you want to shop wood personally the lumberjack office; ask for Rumi. She is the boss and she is one the people who knows the woods the best. Mina Ashido’s hair salon, Yuga Aoyama’s Twinkling Styling Palace; it’s mostly a clothing shop but Mina, Toru Hagukure and Aoyama together are a styling dream team. They helped me with the beauty pageants. We also have the Yaoyorozu’s Properties, the gym, the Bank of Iida, the Todoroki Supermarket, and Yuuie Hospital and of course the town hall.”
Nejire juts her thumb to Eri: “Your little tour guide here knows where everything is.”
Lizelle smirks at Eri: “And why do you know everything?”
Eri giggled, finishing up her milkshake.
Nejire smiled: “Sheriff Aizawa wanted to make sure if anything happened, Eri knows all the safe places to go to.”
Lizelle nods with a small smile: “That sounds like Dadzawa.”
As the two finishes up, Lizelle pulls out her wallet. Fatgum quickly pops through the window.
“Uh uh, It’s on the house.”
“You sure?”
“Of course, especially for my favourite customer,” He winks at Eri with broad grin.
Lizelle grins: “Thanks for everything. The food was delicious. And thanks for all the info Nejire.”
The blue haired waitress waves at her as they exit.
Eri points out Ojiro’s dojo and Denki’s Electrics across the street and the vet next door to the diner. They cross the town square over to the library with a clock tower on top of the corner of the building. Across the street at the corner was Sato’s Bakery and next to it Sero’s Restaurant. Next to them was Mina’s hair salon and connected to it Aoyama’s Twinkling Styling Palace.
Lizelle giggled at the name.
Next to the library was Yaoyorozu’s Properties and on the corner Amajiki’s Flower shop.
“Wanna stop by the library real quick? I want to ask the librarian something.”
Eri nodded and the two headed in. Lizelle sighed in relief at coolness compared to beating sun outside. There was a little dark haired girl with purple eyes a few years older than Eri sitting in a dark corner reading by a low light. A dark haired man with Goth makeup came from the office behind the desk. Eri waved to him.
She gave a whispered greeting: “Hi Tokoyami.”
“Hi Eri,” He whispered back in a pretty deep voice.
Huh this man’s makeup makes him look like crow or raven. Cool.
“Hi, I’m Fumikage Tokoyami, how can I help?”
“Oh hi! I’m Lizelle, I’m new to town. I was wondering with there are any positions open here.”
Tokoyami shook his head: “Not at the moment, but if you don’t mind working part time, we always accept volunteers. On certain days we are busier, especially when exam season comes.”
Lizelle nods with a smile: “Yeah I don’t mind.”
Lizelle gives Tokoyami her contact information. Lizelle waves Eri over for them to leave. Lunch is soon if they want to make it on time for Shinso’s break. Tokoyami hands Eri an apple with small smile. The two wave goodbye. As they leave they hear Tokoyami talk to the other girl:
“Shadow, do not read by such a low light. It is not good for your eyes.”
“But I don’t like the bright light!”
Lizelle smiled as the door closes. Must be brother and sister.
Lizelle and Eri continue down the street. They stop outside Tamaki’s flower shop to smell some of the flowers outside. Lizelle looked at bouquet of white and red roses with a smile on her face. She always liked the beauty more than the smell. Mostly flowers smell like plants to her. There are very few flowers’ smells she actually likes.
Lizelle looks from smiling at Eri to through the window when she spots movement from her peripheral vision. Just in time to see an indigo haired man duck out of sight. Lizelle tilts her head to side. He peaks around but ducks back upon noticing she is still looking. Lizelle gives a small smile at the man’s shyness. She offers him small wave before ushering Eri along.
They turn right to the main street. Then a turn left to walk to the hospital. Walking in, up to the front desk, Lizelle asks if Dr. Hitoshi Shinso is on his break. The woman about to ask the reason why she wants to see him, spots Eri. She smiles and waves the two on ahead while giving directions to his office. Eri leads the way.
Knocking on the door, Lizelle hears Shinso’s tired: “Come in.”
“Hey doc, got time for lunch?”
Shinso looks up and smirks: “Hey Lizzy. Hey Eri!”
Eri runs up to him and he easily picks her.
“Yeah sure lunch. We can do that.”
The three sit down in the cafeteria.
“So you enjoying your time here so far?” Shinso asks around the bad cup of coffee.
“Oh yeah this place is great. Everyone is so friendly. Well mostly everybody.”
Shinso frowns, confused before he asks concerned: “You didn’t run in to the league did you? Dadzawa would have their heads.”
Lizelle shakes her head: “Not really. Just saw one of the members. Nothing happened.”
“Ok good. How’s the living situation?”
“Pretty good. Thanks for okaying the use of your room.”
“Sure.”
“Other than that, it is nice. But I would like my own place.”
Shinso gets a thoughtful look: “And a roommate?”
“I wouldn’t mind a roommate. Helps with rent and stuff.”
“How about...” Shinso puts down his cup, “You move in with me?”
“At your apartment?”
“Yeah the apartment building next to the Post office. I have a spare room/ loft. Also I’m barely home because of the hours at the hospital. It will be more like your apartment and I crash there.”
Lizelle giggles: “I know you can’t help it but you should stop overworking yourself.”
He shrugs: “So what do you say? Once you get a job you can start helping with rent if you want to, but you don’t need to. I make more than enough with a doctor salary. Besides I can’t help much cleaning wise and stuff, so the least I can do is pay the rent.”
Lizelle sighs: “Hitoshi I can’t expect you...”
Shinso holds up his hand: “I want to. I have no problem paying the rent but it’s going to waste because I’m barely there. So whaddya say?”
Lizelle thinks about: “I mean free place, not too far from Eri-them, nearby possible work place...”
Shinso smiled and sat up to reach into his pocket.
Lizelle looks up as she makes her decision: “Ok sure I would love to. Oh!”
She backs a little when she found keys in front of her face.
“Here are the keys to the apartment building and my flat. Go take a look at it. If your decision is completely final we can go make you a copy.”
Lizelle takes the keys and smiles gratefully at Shinso: “Thank you. I really appreciate this.”
Shinso just smirks: “It’s not a problem. You’re family. If we switched places you would have done the same.”
Lizelle nods: “True.”
When his break was over, Lizelle and Eri say goodbye and head back. They stop by the park for a bit while Eri plays with some of her friends.
Lizelle stands at the edge to watch Eri when a siren rings through the air. Lizelle jumps and looks behind her to see Aizawa climb out of the sheriff car.
“What’s with the siren?”
“Easy way to get your attention.”
Lizelle smirks: “Well you got it. Here to arrest me officer?”
Aizawa chuckles: “So how is everything?”
“Great. Eri showed me around, I have places for possible jobs and I have a place to live.”
Aizawa raises an eyebrow.
“Shinso offered me his flat because he is barely there because of his hours and the rent is technically going to waste.”
Aizawa sighs and shakes his head: “That boy works hard. Too hard sometimes. I told him he is more than welcome to stay at home. He didn’t listen.”
“Sometimes people gotta learn by bumping their own heads even when you wanna protect them.”
“Unfortunately. So his apartment?”
“Mhm. He gave me the keys to go check it out. Then we will make my own copy.”
Aizawa nods: “Alright. I can take Eri off your hands if you want.”
Lizelle shakes her head: “Nah that’s okay. I’m good with taking care of Eri for the rest of day.”
“You sure?”
Lizelle nods.
“Ok. Well I got to get back to work. Eri!”
Eri runs over with excitement. The two hug.
“I’ll see you two later tonight.”
“Bye Daddy!” “Bye Dadzawa!”
Lizelle let’s Eri play for a little while longer before they head for the apartment.
Outside parked on the street was a gold motorcycle with red wings and the words ‘Fierce Wings’ on the side. Lizelle nodded impressed before opening up the front door and letting Eri through.
At the mailboxes in the wall stand a man a couple inches taller than Lizelle with feathery blond hair. He wore a tan jacket with two red wings printed on the back, continuing onto the sleeves. Considering he was putting packages and letters into the mailboxes with a big bag slung across his body, Lizelle assumed he is the mailman and that the bike outside is his.
Lizelle started up the stairs.
“Hi Mr. Hawks,” Eri greets the man.
He turns slightly to greet her, only slightly seeing Lizelle before she disappears up the stairs.
Hawks blinks slightly before shrugging.
Eri joins Lizelle as they go to the third floor. 3A, here it is.
She unlocks the door and lets Eri in first. It was small but decently sized with a lot of woodwork. Lizelle snorted. This is very cottage-core. Too much for you, Shinso. But the rest of the apartment was more Shinso. Minimally decorated with just the basic essentials aka – does anybody even actually live here? Oh and coffee.
The place was in good condition from just a brief look, just a bit dusty and dirty, Lizelle noted. Eri showed her around while Lizelle smiled at how cute Eri was. Up the stairs were the loft and the other bedroom. Once again minimally decorated and mostly empty.
“Are you gonna stay with Toshi from now on?”
“Uh yeah, I think I am,” Lizelle sits next to her on the bed, noticing a slight twinge of sadness from Eri even though her face doesn’t say anything.
Lizelle slightly bumps shoulders: “Don’t worry; I’m still going to see you all the time. Who do you think is gonna babysit you?”
She nuzzles her nose against Eri’s playfully, grinning at Eri’s giggle, sadness gone.
The two lock up and leave, bring Shinso’s keys back for him and head home.
Seeing nobody else home yet she decides to get head start on dinner. She hears Eri watching TV and by the sound of it, it was some superhero anime. Lizelle smiles as Eri cheers for the heroes. Considering the back story of Eri, it’s no wonder she has a great love for heroes. Lizelle growled slightly, thinking of Eri’s past. If I ever get my hands on that abusive foster father of hers... Thank goodness Mirio had noticed the signs of something wrong at her house; first the wounds on her arms, explained away by saying she’s reckless and clumsy even though Eri was the gentlest and most careful of all the kids in his class; and second Eri’s hesitancy to go home. Mirio got Izuku involved and using his high position in town along with some others’ help including the Deputy Mayor Mirai Sasaki, they were able to save Eri.
Lizelle had heard the story from Shinso and Mic. She was happy to meet two of Eri’s saviours today, but didn’t want to say anything in front of Eri in case of trauma triggers. Lizelle quickly focuses back on the food to avoid burning it. She giggles as she is reminded of this morning with Mic and the pancakes. No wonder people who don’t know us think we are related.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After dinner and telling Mic and Aizawa about their day, Lizelle helps Mic wash up as Aizawa takes Eri upstairs to get her ready for bed.

“So which job do you think of going after?” Mic asks as he dries the plates.

“Well Tokoyami from the library has my contact details if he ever needs my help, but I am thinking of maybe doing some part-time at the diner and maybe somewhere else as well. At least like secretary or cashier considering I don’t have the skills to help at the other aspects of the businesses here.”

Mic nods: “Well, that sounds good. After all you won’t have to worry too much about money with the rent being Shinso’s responsibility and you do need the time to work on your real career. But hey...”

Mic puts a gentle hand on Lizelle’s shoulder so she focuses on him.

“... Don’t go throwing yourself out there and stressing yourself out too much. I know you and I know that’s what you’ll do. You are away from your family. You have no one to prove yourself to here and us to support you. And don’t listen to those negative little voices inside your head because you know those are your family’s words and thoughts, not your own.”

Lizelle smiles and gives Mic a hug: “Thanks Papa Mic.”

The two finish up and retire for the night. Everything here is perfect...

A little too perfect.

TRANS DEKUSQUAD HEADCANONS

TRANS DEKUSQUAD HEADCANONS

Izuku: Izuku realized he was trans when he was quite young, possibly in elementary school. He struggled with understanding and expressing his identity at first. Izuku came out to his mom, Inko, when he was around 10 years old. He was nervous but prepared a heartfelt explanation. Inko responded with unconditional love, saying, You’re my Izuku, no matter what. He initially kept it private, waiting until he was more comfortable before sharing it with others. Izuku struggles with dysphoria occasionally, particularly when he compares himself to others. He tends to overthink and self-critique, but he uses journaling as an outlet to process these feelings. He keeps a private journal dedicated to his own journey, where he writes affirmations and documents his progress, much like his hero analysis notebooks. Training helps him combat dysphoria, as physical strength and growth remind him of how far he’s come. All Might becomes a pivotal figure in Izuku’s life, offering not only hero mentorship but also subtle emotional support. Though they don’t talk directly about Izuku’s trans identity, All Might’s belief in him reinforces Izuku’s confidence. Ochaco Uraraka is one of the first classmates Izuku tells. She immediately supports him and cheers him on, helping him feel safe and accepted. Iida Tenya is unwavering in his support, offering practical help when Izuku needs it and standing up for him if anyone says anything hurtful. Bakugo Katsuki initially struggles to adjust but never questions Izuku’s identity. Over time, he learns to express his support in his own gruff way, like saying, You’re still a nerd, but I guess you’re my nerd.

Shoto: Shoto realizes he’s transgender around the time he starts learning to fully accept himself. His struggles with his family and his quirks make him more introspective, leading him to explore his gender identity during his high school years. Shoto starts binding his chest, feeling more comfortable and confident in his body. He may have had some moments of self-consciousness at first but grows to feel more at home in his own skin. Bakugo, despite his rough exterior, is surprisingly protective and fiercely loyal, standing up for Shoto if anyone disrespects him. While Shoto is generally stoic, he has moments of dysphoria that make him retreat inwardly. He may sometimes feel like he’s not measuring up to his own expectations or the ones placed on him by others. But he pushes forward, using his determination to create a path toward self-acceptance.

Lida: Tenya’s realization that he is transgender happens during his teenage years, possibly around the start of high school. Growing up in a family with a strict sense of duty and discipline, it takes time for Tenya to understand and accept his true gender identity. He spends a lot of time reflecting on how he feels, especially after coming to terms with his values and his role as both a hero and an individual. Tenya’s family, especially his mother and older brother Tensei, are initially confused but ultimately supportive when Tenya comes out to them. Tenya would start binding as a way to relieve dysphoria. He’s very cautious about it and might even be self-conscious at first, given his sense of discipline and perfectionism. Over time, though, he becomes more comfortable with it, especially as he sees how his friends react with nothing but acceptance. As a person who is incredibly disciplined and hardworking, Tenya feels pressure to live up to the standard.

Uraraka: Ochaco might realize she’s transgender during her time at U.A. The more she grows, the more she starts questioning her gender identity, eventually coming to terms with being a woman, which feels more authentic to her. While she had always been feminine and nurturing, there was a period of self-reflection where she realized her gender didn't fully align with how others saw her and how she felt inside. Ochaco’s family is very supportive when she comes out. Her parents, especially her mother, have always instilled confidence in her, encouraging her to pursue her dreams. The support might come as a surprise to her, as she expected some hesitancy from her traditional parents, but their love for her is unconditional. Her family works with her to make her transition as smooth as possible, helping her navigate the emotional and social challenges that come with it. Ochaco may experience some gender dysphoria during her transition, especially in relation to how her body changes. As someone who’s always been energetic and athletic, she might have some challenges in reconciling her physical self with her inner sense of identity. However, her determination to live authentically helps her push through these tough moments. She becomes more confident as she learns to embrace her body, quirks, and femininity.

Asui: Tsuyu might realize she’s transgender in her early teens, around the time she starts developing a deeper sense of who she is and what it means to be comfortable in her own body. Growing up, she always felt comfortable in her skin, but as she matures, she starts to understand that her identity as a woman doesn't completely match the gender others assumed her to be. Her self-discovery is gradual, and she comes to terms with it quietly, taking her time to understand and embrace it. Midoriya is one of the first to support her, offering a listening ear and comforting words. Uraraka, who shares Tsuyu’s values of empathy and caring, is particularly close to her and often checks in to make sure Tsuyu is doing okay emotionally. Even Bakugo, who may struggle with expressing emotions, respects her identity and makes sure to stand up for her if anyone disrespects her.

Unknowingly Mysterious But Funny

Quirk analysis was something Izuku did the moment he learned how to write. He’s always been in love with heroes and quirks abilities, so he decided to combine the two.

With each year that passed, Izuku filled 1-2 notebooks full of hero analysis. As time passed his abilities sharpened. He was better at reading battles, comprehending moves, and determining the difference between calculated fighting and quick reflexes.

Putting his analysis to use was nothing more than a dream Izuku had. Of course, that’s all his life could be without a quirk. He’d never be able to investigate what he’s capable of or think about how his quirk would work against different quirks. He was quirkless, the baseline of human capabilities.

Then the unthinkable happens, he meets the underground hero Eraserhead. It was completely by accident, but upon revealing his accurate hero analysis to the underground hero, it was hard to convince the adult that.

No one he’d ever met in his life had told him that he would be a good hero. So, imagine his surprise when the underground pro hero Eraserhead told him that he had great potential.

It was a dream come true.

The moment he shared with Aizawa was enough to motivate him to train to near perfection. When the entrance exam came, Izuku felt confident of his performance in all aspects. As he walked home, he knew he aced the written portion, and he did manage to destroy a handful of bots before saving a girl stuck under rubble.

Still, saving the girl was no easy feat and Recovery Girl handed him some gummies to replenish his strength. As Izuku finished enjoying the stamina gummy from Recovery Girl, she slipped a note to him. Raising a brow, he opened it up slowly. Inside contained a small keycard and a room number written on it.

Initially confusion plagued Izuku. He was an average applicant to UA with no special ties to the school. He had never met Recovery Girl before either, so it was shocking that she approached him for the sole purpose of slipping a note.

It felt like a set up, but he had to put his trust in the heroes. Maybe the applicants that were going to be accepted all got a secret note? Still there were a lot of successful people within his group alone who haven’t gotten a note.

Marching his way to the front doors of the main building, he was shocked to see the card worked. As he entered the corridors of the building, excitement filled his being. He was walking inside the number one hero school in Japan: the notorious UA. Being able to see his dream school in person was nothing short of a dream come true.

The corridors were tall, wide, and painfully long. The doors that led to rooms were just as big as the rest of the building. So much so that Izuku wondered how many individuals with gigantism-based quirks attended UA.

When he reached the room, he happily opened the door only to be greeted by a white… mouse?

“Welcome Izuku Midoriya, I apologize for the inconvenience. I am Principal Nezu,” introduced Nezu fondly, wearing a small smile with his paws resting on the table top.

“Oh! It’s a pleasure to meet you, mister Nezu sir!” squeaked Midoriya as he violently bowed.

“No need to be formal. I simply couldn’t resist meeting the person who caught the attention of Eraserhead,” revealed the adult charmingly.

Midoriya rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “Really? Did he tell you that?”

Nezu nodded slowly, closing his eyes as his smile grew, spreading across his face. “Yes, he did. He told me everything. I must say, from what I’ve heard and with what I’ve seen today. You’ve made me want to do something I haven’t done in a long time.”

Swallowing the lump in his throat, Midoriya barely mustered the courage to ask, “What may that be if you don’t mind me asking?”

“How would you like to take the final test to become my personal student?”

Midoriya became the first student in ten years to become Nezu’s personal student. While Midoriya wanted to be in the hero course, Nezu promised that his curriculum was nearly identical, but the difficulty level was higher and there was more focus on the analytical and craft behind detective work for heroes.

Midoriya quickly became a hot topic in the school within the first month. No one knew who Midoriya was and apparently, he was hard to track.

Most students only knew who was in their classes and people in their grade. So, the only people who had a good chance of figuring out who Midoriya was were the first years, still they could mistake Midoriya for an upperclassman.

It didn’t take long for the attention to fall off Midoriya when UA found themselves in hot water. It became a recurring theme which caught the attention of Midoriya.

After spending two weeks analyzing class 1-A in secret, Midoriya determined he wanted to be their friend. He didn’t want to be the one to approach considering Bakugo was in the class and had bullied Midoriya up until they no longer saw each other.

Midoriya planted himself near Aizawa a lot more often. Class 1-A were constantly in close contact with their homeroom teacher so it didn’t take long for word to spread about a mysterious boy with green hair and freckles to spread among the group.

Kirishima and Kaminari were the most vocal about their curiosity and had gained the confidence to ask about it.

“Mister Aizawa,” called out Kirishima quickly.

“Yes, Kirishima,” sighed Aizawa, already knowing the red head was up to something judging from the look on Kaminari’s face.

Kirishima sucked in a breath before asking the question that plagued class 1-A’s minds. “Who is the green haired boy that always talks to you?”

Aizawa raised a brow, seeming rather indifferent to the question. “That’s Midoriya, Nezu’s student.”

The entire class erupted into chaos. They were the first people to know the identity of the secret student. Bakugo remained still in his seat, fuming at the reminder that Midoriya got into some special program of UA. Despite his irritation, he reminded himself Midoriya still didn’t make it into the hero course.

It was Wednesday and class 1-A was heading to the field for their two-hour gym session. Everything was progressing as normal until Aizawa waved to someone from behind the group.

Midoriya rushed past in a gym uniform wearing a bright smile. One by one, jaws dropped and eyes widened. No one could believe Midoriya was joining them for class.

“Everyone meet Midoriya. Today he will be joining us per Nezu’s request. He will 1v1 each of you for five minutes to analyze your quirk. This is a serious assignment for him compared to what it if for you all so do not mess around.”

As the sparring began, Midoriya made it clear he meant business. Everyone watched as his eyes concentrated on everything his opponent did and how they utilized their quirk. A common theme became clear. He’d grasp an understanding of the quirk and then use said quirk against its user.

In the end, he’d force his enemy to fight without their quirk which led to quick victory. Midoriya struggled with Tokoyami, Bakugo, and Todoroki. The quirks were overpowering, and only extensive use would lead to his ability to win. Still, Tokoyami was weakened by the sunlight. The blast and smoke residue from Bakugo’s explosions created blind spots that could be taken advantage of. Todoroki only used his ice side so Midoriya could take advantage of the unused left side.

By the time Midoriya went through everyone in the class, he was exhausted but pleased. He made his way over to Aizawa and pulled out his notebook.

“I got everything I need. You can resume normal training,” informed Midoriya bluntly, waving his pen at the group before him.

Aizawa grinned, peaking at the notes. “Send me your analysis whenever you finish. I can use your notes for future training ideas.”

“I can do that. I’ll put an emphasis on weaknesses then for you,” chuckled Midoriya, scribbling down on the page as he talked.

Midoriya sat on the ground, writing for the remaining thirty minutes as the class ran laps on the tracks. It was a rather peaceful moment for Midoriya.

While he’d never regret accepting Nezu’s offer, he wondered what all he missed out on by not following the typical hero route. Nonetheless, he was content. The class ended and he returned to Nezu to finish his analysis.

If class 1-A hadn’t already been hooked on Midoriya, they were now. Not only was he super smart, but he was incredibly powerful despite never displaying his quirk. Never once did he make a big show about winning or overpowering everyone. He was humble.

It became a mission for the class to catch Midoriya when he was alone. After spending an additional week trying to track him down, Momo had gotten an inside scoop that he frequented the rooftop to eat on Fridays.

When Friday rolled around, a small group was to greet him on the roof. Everyone knew it would be dumb to overwhelm him and risk missing their shot.

Uraraka, Kirishima, and oddly Todoroki were selected to go. Uraraka and Kirishima were selected to go because of their friendly and calm nature. Apparently, Todoroki had a fascination with Midoriya after their fight. No one knew they had been talking to one another during those five minutes, but it was enough for Midoriya to change Todoroki’s life.

When they spotted Midoriya on the roof he seemed to be doing an assignment. His back was facing them to avoid the sun messing up his laptop screen.

As they approached, they realized he was talking to himself. To be honest, it was not talking, but rather mumbling.

As they got closer to peek at the screen like a bunch of stalkers, they saw he was watching a video about categorizing quirks by eye color.

Right as Kirishima went to greet Midoriya, the boy spoke a bit louder than before. It was clear Midoriya was exasperated when he remarked, “Pink must mean… teleportation. And not that someone farted in both their eyes.”

Uraraka couldn’t hold back her laughter despite doing her best to quickly cover her mouth. It seemed that Kirishima was on the same page as he stepped back to laugh as well, grabbing his stomach.

Meanwhile Todoroki was standing there with a blank face. He thought Midoriya was being serious in his analysis, so he thought nothing of the comment.

Yelping at the sudden laughter coming from directly behind him, Midoriya whipped his head around. Initially Midoriya had been scared he was going to be bullied, but quickly relaxed upon seeing the familiar faces.

“Bro has anyone ever told you that you are super funny?” sighed Kirishima, trying to catch his breath.

Uraraka was wiping her tears from laughing so hard. Still, she managed to suck in enough air to agree. “Yeah, that little comment you made was hilarious.”

With his face blooming a bright red, Midoriya waved his hands violently. “No! That’s so crude of me! Please ignore that!”

Kirishima went to sit with Midoriya, flashing a charming smile. “Nah man, that was amazing!”

Todoroki smiled, sitting down as well. “Hello Midoriya.”

Turning to look at Todoroki, Midoriya flashed a soft smile. “Hi Todoroki.”

Uraraka looked back and forth between Midoriya and Todoroki before smirking. There wasn’t much there currently, but she felt a romance blooming.

“Oh, are you two close?” questioned Uraraka knowingly. It was clear Todoroki knew something more than them when it came to Midoriya.

Midoriya shook his head. “No, I’ve only talked to him the day I joined your class for training.”

Never once taking his eyes off Midoriya, Todoroki narrowed his eyes. “Why aren’t you in the hero course with us?”

Kirishima gawked at Todoroki’s audacity. He knew Todoroki was rather blunt, but this was a new level.

“I applied for the hero course! Uraraka was in the same group as me,” chuckled Midoriya, closing his laptop.

“Yeah, you saved me from the giant zero-pointer,” gasped Uraraka, bowing her head. “Thank you again for that. I wouldn’t be here right now if it hadn’t been for you!”

“Nonsense! You proved that you are a hero by earning all of those points! Either way, I know it may be confusing why I’m not in the hero course,” chuckled Midoriya awkwardly.

Flashing a charming smile, Kirishima pressed a bit. “So, what’s your story?”

“I accidentally met Aizawa in middle school. I managed to impress him, and he recommended me to Nezu. I passed Nezu’s test and accepted his offer to be his student,” revealed Midoriya swiftly, not one to enjoy talking about his achievements in front of others.

Todoroki looked into Midoriya’s eyes, laying it on thick as he announced, “You are truly amazing. I think my dad’s homophobic so dating you would be perfect.”

While Midoriya looked a mix of flattered and mortified, Uraraka and Kirishima fell into another fit of laughter.

Their conversation moved fast and didn’t make a lot of sense, but it felt right, nonetheless.

Despite the different path Midoriya took, it seems that he was still a part of the normal hero course. He made friends with the class, and even found a potential love interest.

Who would’ve thought showing off analysis and joking about pink eye would’ve been the two leading causes of his wonderful life.

Revel in my Greatness

Just when life seemed to be going upward for Midoriya, chaos had to ensue.

Midoriya was happy he got into UA High School. He was bullied for being a plain looking nerd all his life so at least he could say being a nerd got him into the best school in Japan. He convinced himself it was because he was perceived as an easy target and nothing they said held any weight.

So what if he had freckles? It didn’t matter that his hair was untamable and he had a babyface. It wasn’t like he was in control of his appearance.

Of course the same line of thinking didn’t apply to him being a bookworm. He couldn’t help it and he didn’t want to change a thing. He loved reading, studying, and growing smarter with each passing day. Education and knowledge was far more powerful than being popular.

None of that mattered once he entered the most prodigious school in all of Japan. Only the smartest people in the world got a chance to attend. Sure, a person may want to present themselves in the way they want to be perceived, but no one was getting into the school just because they were popular or they had status.

After their first round of exams passed, students' rankings were announced. Midoriya was ranked fourth in his class of twenty. He did his best, but he also focused on maintaining a social life and worked out daily.

Meanwhile Momo Yaoyorozu, number one, and Tenya Iida, number two, focused a lot more time on studying and less on other aspects of their life. Bakugo, who placed third, studied a lot, but also prioritized sleep.

It was a miracle Midoriya was so smart and it was a mystery to him how he managed to keep his rank at number four. He was always doing something and mainly studied enough to get by. He supposed he was gifted to a degree, but tried to avoid thinking of himself in such a way. It was disrespectful to his friends.

On the topic of friends, everyone in class 1-A loved Midoriya. He was passionate, charismatic, and humble. To many in the class, it was refreshing to talk to someone so goofy, but down to earth at the same time.

Within the first month of being at the school, Midoriya had bonded with everyone but Bakugo. That was to be expected.

Bakugo was Midoriya’s childhood rival. Ever since they were young, Bakugo has been insistent on making everything a competition. Midoriya didn’t mind, but he always wondered what made Bakugo so hateful toward him.

It was hard to swallow, but Midoriya knew the only reason he was bullied growing up was because of Bakugo. If Bakugo hadn’t been so cruel, his old classmates wouldn’t have targeted him. Still, Midoriya could have punched Bakugo in the face, but he wasn’t going to risk his record.

Uraraka was the first person Midoriya became friends with. They met the day of the entry exam. She stopped him from falling. The entrance exam consisted of two parts: a written exam and a practical section.

The practical section consisted of five intelligence based challenges a duo had to complete under a short time frame. Uraraka and Midoriya chose one another and he helped her pass when he carried the partner section of the exam. She made some great points, but the pressure of the challenges being timed frazzled her.

Todoroki was quiet and withdrawn. Midoriya was worried why he was so bitter and later helped him out in the middle of an important debate. Midoriya was stern, but genuine when he disciplined Todoroki on his attitude. The two were inseparable ever since.

Iida and Midoriya got along for multiple reasons. They were both academic scholars, they always seemed to help each other grow even during the moments when they butted heads. Midoriya even saved Iida when he was planning to use his skills to blackmail his brother's workplace when they unfairly fired Tensei.

Those were just three people in the class Midoriya bonded with. Midoriya also got along with Ojiro, Tokoyami, Tsuyu, Kirishima, and the rest of the long list.

Despite how popular Midoriya was, no one really knew about his hobbies. Midoriya was a comic book nerd and loved doing hero analysis. Many people knew he liked analyzing things, but he never specified what.

No one knew Midoriya worked out either. The school uniforms hid away each perfectly developed muscle he trained hard for. Midoriya spent two hours every day at the school's gym. UA High was a large boarding school so it made sense they had a bunch of random facilities.

Sure students could leave campus, but offering different options for the students was for their safety. While it was horrible, there were people who would attempt to rob the students. UA High did have a stigma that only rich people attended. At least that’s what the parents of the teens who didn’t pass would convince themselves.

There were a couple of students who regularly trained at the gym that Midoriya became friends with. Mirio Togata was the main person Midoriya talked to and he was a third year. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, in class 1-B, was another person who Midoriya often saw at the gym, but they weren’t close.

Midoriya was minding his business, happily talking with Todoroki, Uraraka, and Kirishima in between classes. Suddenly someone came up to the group with a phone and a strange gadget.

“Midoriya!” shouted the random person with a chipper tone.

“Hello! What can I do for you?” questioned Midoriya, turning his attention to the mystery individual.

The girl with long periwinkle hair flashed a bright smile. “Mirio was telling me all about you and I just have to know your result!”

“Oh, you must be Nejire! What result are you talking about?” reiterated Midoriya, still confused about what she could want.

“Your grip strength. Mirio just bought this to track his progress and said he was curious about your score,” explained Nejire, holding up a grip strength hand trainer.

Midoriya flashed a smile, happily taking the instrument from Nejire. “Okay! Let me do this quickly.”

Uraraka, Kirishima, and Todoroki were confused. They recalled that Mirio was part of the big three, but they’d never met him before. The three were mainly shocked that Midoriya knew Mirio.

Kirishima pulled out his phone to record the exchange. The class may or may not have had a group chat without Midoriya in it to gush about everything he did. This was going to be one of the things they talked about.

Uraraka and Todoroki were busy watching Midoriya squeeze the grip strength hand trainer. Midoriya bent his elbow and squeezed tight, eyes closing and he tried to not grit his teeth too hard.

Letting out a sharp breath when he was done, he looked at it before turning it to Nejire. “A little over sixty kilograms!”

Nejire’s jaw dropped. Todoroki’s jaw dropped. Uraraka’s jaw dropped, Kirishima’s jaw dropped.

“Thank you! Gotta go,” shouted Nejire before bolting away in excitement.

“Of course!” called out Midoriya with urgency, a bit startled by her sudden evacuation.

Midoriya turned back to his friends, bowing. “Sorry for interrupting our conversation! Anyways, you were talking about Mina throwing a banana at Kaminari.”

Kirishima held up a hand, forcing Midoriya to pause. “Hold on dude. You have a grip strength of sixty kilograms! What the hell?”

“What? Is that bad?” asked Midoriya in a panic, worried he disappointed his friend.

Kirishima shook his head dramatically with wide eyes. “That’s super good! I’ve never met someone who’s even gotten close to the score you just got. You work out?”

“Yeah! I do cardio in the morning and I weight train two hours later in the day,” revealed Midoriya shyly. He didn’t think anyone would find that aspect of his life interesting.

“So that’s why you seem to disappear!” gasped Uraraka, connecting the dots. “I find it kind of amazing that you manage to dedicate two hours every day to working out.”

“Could you lift me?” asked Todoroki curiously, not bothering to try and hide his intentions.

Midoriya smiled, holding a thumbs up. “Yes! I can do it after school if you’d like.”

Todoroki nodded with a small grin. “Please.”

Kirishima jabbed a thumb to his chest as he shouted. “Me too!”

“Me three!” pitched in Uraraka, more than happy to be lifted like a princess.

A warmth flooded Midoriya as his friends showed interest in what he put a lot of effort into. Still the conversation made heat rush to his face. It wasn’t everyday he got this kind of attention.

Midoriya kept his promise, but the rest of class 1-A was quickly filled in. Bakugo was pissed by the news. He couldn’t believe Midoriya was somehow one step ahead of him. Marching to the gym, Bakugo could already tell it was empty except for Midoriya.

Walking into the large area filled with untouched equipment, Bakugo spotted Midoriya in the back. He made his way over, ready to shout and tease Midoriya when he was stopped in his tracks.

The sight in front of Bakugo was godly. Midoriya had a barbell with an insane amount of weight on it. Midoriya seemed unbothered as he back squatted the large amount of weight. Midoriya was wearing some gym shorts and a baggy tee shirt, but Bakugo could see enough.

When Midoriya squatted, he brought his knees over his toes. Midoriya also hit incredible depth with his butt just inches above the ground. Bakugo watched as Midoriya’s shorts rode up enough to show his leg muscles flexing. Midoriya was mainly training his quads so Bakugo got a good look at just how impressive the muscles were.

Bakugo couldn’t even feel mad about Midoriya’s muscles because it was clear Midoriya worked incredibly hard to get to this point. Still, Bakugo would find a way to poke fun at Midoriya.

When Midoriya racked the barbell, Bakugo stalked forward with a smile.

Midoriya noticed Bakugo and quickly slipped off his headphones. “Kacchan!”

“So the rumors are true. You are a meathead,” remarked Bakugo, smirking as he crossed his arms.

Midoriya sat down his headphones and grabbed his water. It was nearing the end of his workout so a break was greatly appreciated. “Rumors?”

Bakugo stopped a couple feet before Midoriya and rolled his eyes. “The extras were showing everyone videos of you lifting them and the grip strength shit.”

Midoriya’s hand rose to cover his face as his heart began pounding in his chest. “Oh god. They recorded that?”

“They sure as hell did Nerd.”

“This is so embarrassing. I don’t want people knowing I work out,” cried Midoriya, throwing his head back.

Bakugo raised a brow, crossing his arms. “The fuck… why not?”

Midoriya swallowed hard before sitting down on a bench. “It’s stupid. You’d make fun of me.”

“Probably, but I still want to know,” admitted Bakugo, walking to stand before Midoriya again.

“I’m insecure of my body. I always felt too skinny and that clothes fit me weird. So I started training to gain weight. I guess I’m still not satisfied and I’m worried everyone will start making assumptions or begin to have an opinion on my body,” rambled Midoriya, struggling to explain what exactly he was feeling and thinking.

Bakugo rolled his eyes before kicking Midoriya’s leg. “You’re an idiot.”

“Waa-chan!” yelped Midoriya as he threw his legs away from Bakugo’s direction.

“Why does anyone's opinion of your body matter? You’re already smarter than all those losers so you should be more worried about them taking advantage of your mind,” commented Bakugo, trying to process the fact Midoriya didn’t like his body.

Midoriya wilted where he was sitting, bowing his head as he rocked his feet back and forth on the heels before he sighed, “You’re right.”

Bakugo was quiet for a moment, already regretting what he was about to say. “Your body is fine the way it is and anyone would be jealous of your legs.”

“You think so? I always try to hide them,” confessed Midoriya, looking down at his muscular thighs.

“You shouldn’t. If I had a body like yours I’d show it off. If anyone has a problem with your body, that's a personal problem and has nothing to do with you,” argued Bakugo, getting irritated at the mere thought of someone picking on Midoriya for his body.

“That’s… really nice of you to say. Thank you, Kacchan. It means a lot, truly,” thanked Midoriya with a small, flattered smile as he stared up at Bakugo through his eyelashes.

Bakugo felt his cheeks heat up and he was quick to have another explosive outburst as he barked, “Shut it Deku! If you keep spending all your time training you’ll never be number one.”

Midoriya suddenly felt a little bold and teased Bakugo back. “It wouldn’t matter anyways, you’ll always be the best.”

“Damn right!” shouted Bakugo, quickly turning on his heel and leaving the gym. As he made his way to the door, his mind was racing.

No way in hell am I going to stay here and get all soft and cheesy for Deku of all people. Not a fucking chance.

Bakugo thought this to himself as he saved the pictures and videos he just took of Midoriya working out to his hidden folder. The groupchat could starve for once.

Bakugo may have gotten the privilege of stalking Midoriya in the gym, but everyone in class 1-A got the blessing of seeing Midoriya’s muscles. After Bakugo complimented Midoriya, Midoriya was given the confidence to wear shorts around the dorms.

Besides, he happily lifted Todoroki, Uraraka, and Kirishima outside all at once. The entire class was able to watch him activate a large portion of his impressive muscles without even seeming a bit overwhelmed by carrying three people. Many pictures were taken.

Uraraka, Todoroki, and Kirishima may or may not have set one of the pictures taken as their phone background.

“Wow, Midoriya’s legs are impressive,” commented Jiro one afternoon as she was eating yogurt.

“Your welcome,” grumbled Bakugo, before stuffing his face with curry.

Everyone in the kitchen shot their gaze to Bakugo before looking to where Midoriya was standing. Suddenly the kitchen was filled with countless Midoriya lovers shouting. “What!”

Midoriya smiled bashfully while Bakugo laughed at the rest of the group's frustration. Midoriya walked away, no longer hiding his smirk. He’ll never let a soul know he set the entire situation up.

That’s how you remain humble while establishing dominance.

Like Father Like Son

Izuku Midoriya grew up believing he lived a good life. He was always full of energy, obsessed with the hero world, and desperately wanted to be friends with everyone.

One thing that set him apart from his peers was that his father was an interesting character. Inko and Hisashi Midoriya seemed to balance each other. Inko was sweet and stern. Hisashi was sour and childish. Izuku often used that to his advantage.

Hisashi was mostly absent from Izuku’s life. Sure, Hisashi was always around, but he never behaved the way a father should have. It seemed as if entertaining Izuku was nothing but a burden and an inconvenience. Given the task of receiving his father’s love, Izuku did anything in his power for an ounce of attention.

Fear of abandonment was the driving force of Izuku’s childhood. That followed him to his teen years.

Now that Izuku was attending the U.A. High, the best hero school in Japan, the “cracks” in his perfect personality were on display. He took up a lot of the traits that made up his mother. He was sassy, goofy, nerdy, stubborn, compassionate, loving, and talkative.

When the first war hit and everyone was scrambling, it seemed that his upbringing came to a head.

If it had only been Inko in the picture, he could have consoled his crying mother before escaping U.A. High to take the target off the school. But Hisashi was also in the picture, and he was able to keep a better leash on his son.

For the first time in his life, Izuku wanted nothing more for Hisashi to avoid him again. Maybe Hisashi was just showing face for Inko. At least that was what Izuku was trying to convince himself.

With each hour that passed once he woke up, Izuku grew more antsy. He had already finished his goodbye letters to his classmates. On top of that, he talked to Toshinori, Gran Torino, and the pro heroes he’d be working alongside when he went on the run.

When news reached class 1-A that the pro heroes were going to be doing something and that Izuku was involved, the group decided to invade his hospital room. They had no plans of letting their friend go through this battle alone.

“That idiot!” hissed Bakugo as he stormed down the hallway, leading the group of his classmates.

“Why didn’t he talk to us,” wondered Todoroki quietly, right on Bakugo’s heels.

Uraraka sighed, focusing on the door numbers. “This is Deku we are talking about. He never talked about his troubles.”

Right beside Uraraka was Iida. He let out a huff as he commented, “It’s rather concerning that he's getting involved in something big and we aren’t informed about it.”

“I’m sure everything will be okay once we talk to Midoriya guys,” reassured Kirishima, not believing what he was preaching.

“Yeah! Midoriya is impulsive, but he wouldn’t do something too reckless,” agreed Kaminari, feeling rather optimistic about the entire situation.

Jiro shook her head, mumbling, “That has to be the dumbest thing you’ve ever said. This is Midoriya we are talking about. He’s always being reckless.”

Mina smiled at Jiro, feeling a bit better with the lighthearted banter. “Let’s just hope we can talk to him about what we have been hearing and get some answers.”

Less than ten seconds later they reach his room. Right as Bakugo was about to blast the door open, his anger vanished. Shouting could be heard from inside the room.

“What are you saying? We are in the middle of a war!” shouted Izuku.

The entire class quickly huddled by the door; Jiro used her quirk to help them eavesdrop as well.

“Here are some things a war needs Izuku. Conflict, stakes, a way to benefit, and clearly you staying here to rest and train for the inevitable second wave,” listed Hisashi in a couldn’t-be-bothered tone.

“But the villains are after me! Targeting the people I care about and eating babies,” argued Izuku, not understanding why Hisashi wasn’t understanding.

Bakugo and Uraraka shared a confused and disturbed expression. Iida and Todoroki shrugged considering Izuku often said crazy things out of seemingly nowhere.

Hisashi seemed to be munching on something as when he began to speak, it was clear something was in his mouth. “Yeah. Thankfully that’s not our problem. It’s time to pull the plug.”

“Pull the plug?” spat Izuku in disbelief. He couldn’t believe how selfish his father was being. Deciding to let it all out, Izuku attacked, “I have to protect my friends and save the hurting child inside Shigaraki! I have to do the right thing! Do what you never did as a dad! Put in a little effort.”

Class 1-A was officially panicking. Not once had Izuku ever mentioned having family problems or a bad relationship with his father.

Todoroki couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. After all, Izuku helped him through his family troubles, childhood trauma, and his generally bad relationship with his father.

Bakugo on the other hand was pissed off. If he had known that Hisashi was a piece of shit father, he would’ve gotten his parents involved. After all, Mitsuki adored Inko and would do anything for her.

It seemed that the rest of the group was eager for answers considering something like this was so out of the blue. The conversation was emotionally charged on Izuku’s end, but Hisashi seemed to care less.

“Alright, cut the high road routine. We both know about Shigaraki’s shitty situation and how he now has All for One. You accepted One for All, the only quirk that can defeat him. Shigaraki’s pathetic life is in your hands. You go save him,” taunted Hisashi, clearly proving Izuku right. He didn’t put in any effort in supporting his kid.

Bakugo glared at the door. He was tempted to bust it down and blast Hisashi to hell. Despite never interacting with the man before, he made up his mind that Hisashi was an insufferable asshole he didn’t want to be bothered with.

Todoroki on the other hand was still caught off guard by Hisashi’s words. All for One and One for All were mentioned. Shigaraki had AFO and Izuku had OFA. They were opposites and destined to battle one another? Uraraka caught on as well and felt the fogginess in her mind clear up a bit.

“So, you refuse to let me leave, but you want me to save Shigaraki? You’re really going to believe that I, your son, can’t be trusted with pro heroes?” interrogated Izuku, more than happy to point out the flaws in his father’s hurtful comments.

“Yes, Izuku. I don’t trust you. Because you’re not my son,” shouted Hisashi, fed up with the conversation.

Kirishima gasped, appalled by such a cruel thing for Hisashi to say to his son. Uraraka shook her head, a pang of guilt eating her up inside with the knowledge that Izuku had to deal with Hisashi for his entire life.

Todoroki had flashbacks to the things his father would say to him out of anger. Endeavor loved using the phrase “If you can’t do ____ then you’re no son of mine”. It seemed Hisashi was close to no better than Enji.

Bakugo’s hands twitched as the fabric of his school uniform was singed. The blood rushing through his veins was overwhelming, but it didn’t compare to the nightmarish thoughts running through his head. He wanted to kill that bastard. Izuku was an incredible person and the fact Hisashi couldn’t see that was crazy.

Much to everyone’s shock, Izuku fired back quickly, not too upset by the statement, but rather annoyed. They could hear movement from inside the room as Izuku exasperated, “Oh, God. Yes. I’m one of infinite Izuku’s with infinite fathers and infinite universes! It’s called a hug Dad! It won’t kill you.”

The conversation was derailing so fast. Mina and Kaminari were already tapping out from being able to react. Todoroki was struggling a bit too. The majority of class 1-A felt as if they were missing vital information. It would make sense with how Izuku never brought up Hisashi.

Bakugo was lucky enough to know most of what was going on, the only thing he didn’t understand was Izuku and Hisashi talking about a multiverse in the middle of a conversation about Shigaraki and Izuku wanting to save people.

Despite all of that, Jiro and Sero snickered at Izuku for shaming his dad. It was funny to hear Izuku be sassy and mock someone.

“Yeah, don’t be so sure. Do you know why every Hisashi made sure their little boy was quirkless? The same reason why I’m not surprised you want to go on this suicidal villain destruction tirade. You were a scary fucking kid,” admitted Hisashi shamelessly.

Bakugo was having a crisis while the rest of class 1-A were trying to process the insane confession they just heard. Hisashi made sure Izuku was quirkless. Yet somehow Izuku had a quirk in this reality.

The teens also couldn’t comprehend why Hisashi would say Izuku was a scary kid. Sure, he could be pretty intense and spooky when in battle, but he was super kind, energetic, and a pure hero. It seemed that Hisashi didn’t know his son at all.

Izuku let out a laugh of disbelief. “Oh my god.”

Everyone was more than happy to hear Izuku was in the same boat they were in.

“I didn’t take your quirk to punish you. I did it to protect the neighborhood," revealed Hisashi bluntly. Izuku didn't respond so Hisashi explained, "Not in a noble sense. It was more to sequester you before I had to start, you know, cloning a replacement for every less-than-polite kid or gullible little animal that might cross your socio-path."

With more context to back up Hisashi's insane statements from before, they were now more curious about Izuku's childhood. They could imagine how he'd be a lot to handle. He was a very curious person and always found his way into trouble. Still, that was something they liked about their classmate.

Bakugo, who grew up with Izuku, didn't have the slightest clue about what Hisashi was talking about. Izuku was annoying, sure, but he was obsessed with becoming a hero and saving people. This story Hisashi spun up made no sense.

"This bastard is lying," whispered Bakugo, growing more irritated.

Uraraka and Todoroki glanced at Bakugo. They were glad to hear Bakugo say what they were thinking. While their thoughts and feelings about Hisashi were biased, Bakugo knew Izuku when he was young.

"You would rather believe I'm evil than admit that you are a bad father?" remarked Izuku rather calmly. It seemed that the disbelief wore off and the disappointment settled in.

Hisashi was quick to respond as he clarified, "Oh, dude. No. No, bad father all the way to the max here. I'm a fucking nutcase, and the acorn plopped straight down baby."

The entire group got a bad feeling about all of this. No matter what the result of the conversation was, it was clear that Hisashi was an unreliable narrator in this case. He was contradicting himself left and right, being overly rude, claiming Izuku was crazy, and then making it sound like Izuku had to be crazy just because he was.

"Look at some of the shit you asked me to make you as a kid," started Hisashi as the sound of wind and something crashing could be heard. The group immediately assumed that Hisashi had opened a portal to get a box of items from his home or something.

“Ray guns. A whip that forces people to like you. Invisibility cuffs. A parent trap. A lightning gun,” listed Hisashi as he picked up the items one by one.

With each item Hisashi announced, class 1-A’s jaws dropped lower and lower and their eyes grew wider and wider. They struggled to comprehend what they were hearing. They could hear the jingling of metal and the rubbery noises of plastic. These items were real.

The one thing no one could understand is why Izuku would ask for any of those items. He was a quirkless kid with a dream of becoming a hero. Why he’d ask for things that could cause harm or suggest criminal activity made no sense.

In the cases where the item wasn’t dangerous, they found themselves growing sad. For instance, the whip that forced people to like Izuku. They couldn’t conceptualize people who didn't naturally like him. He was a magnetic force that attracted people.

“A teddy bear with anatomically correct innards. Night vision googly eyeglasses. Sound erasing sneakers. False fingerprints. Fall asleep darts.”

Magically Hisashi’s prior statements started making sense. If Izuku was asking for items that made it seem like he was planning on stalking and killing someone, they could understand why he was so stern.

The one thing that had Bakugo stumped was he never saw any of the items mentioned before. Izuku’s little bag he used to carry around everyone only had a crappy hero notebook and some hero figures. He rarely had the book bag on him anyway.

While Uraraka, Todoroki, and Iida were concerned by the things their best friend asked for, they were more curious than anything else. How did a child come up with half of those ideas, especially the teddy bear with organs?

“A lie-detecting All Might action figure. An indestructible baseball bat. A taser shaped like a ladybug. A fake police badge. Location tracking stickers. Rainbow-colored duct tape. Mind control hair clips. Poison gum,” continues Hisashi effortlessly. It seemed like he was going to account for every item that was in the container all the items were in.

Kaminari and Sero let the shock fade away and they were suddenly snickering. There was something so humorous about Izuku being a bloodthirsty child.

Bakugo on the other hand was freaking out because some items sounded like faint memories. If he felt like he remembered some of the items, it meant there was a high probability Izuku carried them around often.

Uraraka and Todoroki seemed to process a big issue simultaneously. Hisashi was creating these things. If Izuku asked for a bomb, it seemed like Hisashi would mindlessly make one for Izuku and shove him out the door.

At the best, Hisashi was neglectful. At the worst, Hisashi was an abusive piece of shit. He would make insane and dangerous items for his child without even considering how Izuku could hurt himself or others.

It was a blessing that Izuku managed to calm down and chose the right path of being a genuine hero with the mission of saving people. Inko must’ve raised Izuku all by herself because there was no way Izuku reflected Hisashi.

The group barely had a moment to reflect when Hisashi spoke again and said, “A green, sentient switchblade.”

Before anyone could process what Hisashi just stated, they heard the flipping of a switchblade accompanied by a horrifically human voice.

“Hi Izuku! You’ve gotten taller. Shall we resume stabbing?”

Jiro and Momo’s jaws dropped as their heads slowly turned to look at each other. The fact that Izuku grew up with a custom, humanlike knife was something out of a movie.

Todoroki was growing increasingly concerned about how Hisashi managed to make the items in the first place.

Kirishima and Kaminari were jealous that Izuku got a bunch of cool things in his childhood. They did have to remind themselves that Hisashi was a shit father and Izuku deserved better.

Bakugo on the other hand was still trying to recollect ever seeing any of the items. Maybe Izuku had them hidden or requested Hisashi to make an invisible backpack. Still, never once had Izuku used those items.

As horrible as it was, Izuku let the bullies push him around and insult him despite having gear to protect himself. Bakugo probably would have left Izuku alone if he had ever seen any of the items.

“Has it occurred to you that I asked you to make those things because I wanted you to spend time with me? Had it occurred that if I asked you to make those things, it was to protect myself from the bullying I endured because of my quirkless status?”

Suddenly all concern the group had for Izuku’s sanity vanished and empathy kicked in. It made a lot of sense when they thought about it. Izuku wouldn’t have asked for those things before the age of four.

If Hisashi stole Izuku’s quirk and put a giant target on his son’s back of course he’d lose friends and be a target of bullying. Izuku was probably lonely and wanted his parents' attention.

With his father being some kind of inventor, it made sense that someone as smart as Izuku would try to knock out two birds with one stone. Some time with his dad and getting useful items.

Nonetheless, Bakugo understood why he never saw Hisashi. Hisashi was a crazy ass adult with no sense of morality. He was a bad father and a disappointment of a person.

“Wait what? Why? Didn’t you play with those three boys all the time? You wanted to be a hero so deal with the consequences of that,” scoffed Hisashi as he once again dismissed his son’s serious problems.

Uraraka was incredibly disturbed. Izuku had confronted his dad about wanting attention and how Hisashi’s decision to steal his quirk did more harm than good. So how did Hisashi take that entire statement and just go right back to square one? The topic of Shigaraki has already passed so why was Hisashi simply chalking all of this up to Izuku wanting to be a hero?

Bakugo was done with Hisashi and was happy to tell Iida to go get Aizawa. Japan may be a wreck now, but Hisashi was not about to make UA a scary place for Izuku.

As Iida rushed away, Izuku responded. To no one’s surprise, Izuku was hurt and betrayed by his father’s reaction. It must have stung to know his father never once cared about him.

“Oh my god! This is your fault! I am not a bad person. I’m going to leave UA, I’m finding Shigaraki, and I’m fixing this!” shouted Izuku as the sound of a window breaking rang out through the room.

Bakugo burst through the doorway in the moment, terrified Izuku was hurt. All he saw was a broken window, a hospital gown lying on the hospital bed, a pile of letters sitting on the floor, and Hisashi standing near the bed with a stunned expression.

Bakugo wasted no time charging at Hisashi as he screamed, “You fucker! Do you have any idea what you just did?”

Todoroki vaulted himself out the window, hoping he’d be able to catch Izuku before he got away. Uraraka rushed out with Todoroki, knowing every second counted.

By the time Aizawa reached the room, Hisashi was unconscious, Izuku was gone, and Todoroki and Uraraka came back empty-handed.

After countless days of searching, fighting, and struggling to get Izuku to return, they succeeded. They had to give Izuku a bit of time to rest and recover, but when he was good enough to chat again, they all had one question.

“Can we see your sentient switchblade?”

Thirst Traps

Mina was devilishly tapping her fingers together as she stared at Midoriya. “Sorry, but you lost the bet.”

“I didn’t even agree to the bet,” argued Midoriya nervously, not recalling Mina even stating it was a bet.

“Nonsense,” hushed Mina, rising from where she was sitting to grab her phone that was currently charging.

Midoriya groaned from where he was sitting. The sound caught the attention of Uraraka who was returning to the common room from filling up her water bottle. “Deku? What’s wrong?”

Midoriya looked up at Uraraka in despair. “It’s Mina.”

“What is she up to this time,” remarked Uraraka with an amused grin.

“She’s forcing me to do something because I lost a bet I never agreed to,” explained Midoriya weakly, sinking into the couch in despair. When it came to Mina, nothing could be done once she had an idea.

Uraraka nodded, sitting down next to Midoriya. “I’m sure it won’t be that bad. Besides, it’s not like she can force you to do anything outside the dorms.”

Relaxing a bit at the reminder it was storming outside, Midoriya took a sip out of his water bottle. “You’re right. It can’t be that bad right? She’ll probably force me to play a little prank on someone or something.”

“Probably, either that or she’ll make you do her homework,” laughed Uraraka, recalling how Mina once tried getting Momo to do her work but was forced to have a tutoring session instead.

Mina rushed back in with her phone and a bright smile. “I want you to recreate this!”

Midoriya raised a brow, letting Mina squish onto the couch with him and Uraraka. Mina had a video pulled up and it was some guy standing in heavy rain strutting, doing air splits, and backflips over music.

Uraraka couldn’t hold back her laugh. Mina immediately proved the both of them wrong when they assumed the dare would be her usual silly antics.

“I can’t do that! I’m going to fall! Besides, if anyone sees me out there-!” argued Midoriya in a panic, trying to do whatever it took to get out of this.

Mina shook her head and pressed a finger against Midoriya’s lips to silence him. “Nope. Look, I’ll be nice, and I won’t force you to wear the big fluffy coat and ripped jeans.”

Midoriya sighed in defeat, not seeing much harm in the dare when no lightning was outside. The only risk was him getting sick and he decided to set down some conditions of his own.

“Have a towel and warm tea prepared for me. If I end up getting sick you owe me katsudon until I’m recovered,” ordered Midoriya, willing to do the dare, but wanting to have some say in what happened.

Mina extended her deal with a wide smile. “Deal! Uraraka, would you be an angel and grab that stuff? I’m going to go out to record this!”

Midoriya wilted, forgetting that Mina loved having everything on her phone. He couldn’t blame her though, some of these simple funny moments were nice to look back on when things got rough. Uraraka smirked and threw herself up. “Fine, but I’m going to need that video for myself.”

Kirishima was curious about what was going on and approached Uraraka. “Hey, where are Mina and Midoriya heading off to?”

Uraraka crossed her arms with a grin. “Mina is forcing Midoriya to recreate some video out in the storm.”

“No way! I gotta see this!” laughed Kirishima, immediately pulling out his phone and texting one of his multiple group chats. He sent the quick message “Come down to the common room immediately, it's important,” to Kaminari, Sero, Bakugo, and Jiro.

Kaminari and Sero came down along with Sato, Ojiro, and Tokoyami. Jiro came down with Momo and Hagakure, and Bakugo came down alone. It seemed that Bakugo thought it was something serious because he practically exploded when he saw the rest of the class wasn’t there.

“What the hell Shitty Hair?” shouted Bakugo, immediately sending off some small explosions.

“Woah man, calm down! Everyone, follow me to the window!” instructed Kirishima, not trying to set Bakugo off even more.

It only took seconds for the group to understand why Kirishima told them to come down urgently. Mina and Midoriya were standing in the open field as rain was crashing down. Mina had her phone held up while Midoriya was doing mind-boggling flips toward her.

While Midoriya could do a perfect split, he had trained kicking enough that he could fake it. If he did an air split fast enough, no one would be able to tell his left leg didn’t perfectly come up all the way. When Midoriya reached Mina he managed to land his last flip without falling and went straight into a backflip.

Once Midoriya stuck the landing of his back flip he took in a quick breath, jumped into the air and shot his legs out, faking the split like a pro.

Mina collapsed to the ground, cackling. Midoriya crossed his arms and looked up at the sky that was dark and pouring down rain. Midoriya then looked down at Mina, said something, and suddenly Mina was sprinting back toward the dorm building.

Uraraka was already standing by the door with towels and warm tea waiting for them in the kitchen. Mina launched herself inside, the rain covering her face and mixing with her tears. “My phone!”

“Yeah, that’s my bad,” chuckled Midoriya, knowing that they had to retake the dance at least ten times before he got it right.

Walking further into the dorm, planning on going to the kitchen, the two froze when they saw the large group standing near the windows. Only the group was staring at them in disbelief and glee.

Midoriya bolted off before anyone could even ask him where he learned how to do any of that. Mina on the other hand didn’t stick around because she had to make sure her phone was okay. She couldn’t lose the video after just getting it!

Midoriya was fresh out of the shower when he texted Uraraka that he was sorry for not sticking around for the tea she made him. It seemed that Uraraka didn’t mind too much, even going as far as to say she’d reheat it and send someone up to deliver it to him.

Feeling bad and not wanting her to go out of her way to do something she didn’t have to, Midoriya frantically typed it wasn’t necessary and it was no big deal. A knock interrupted Midoriya’s guilt as he stared at the typing bubble from Uraraka. Rising from where he was sitting, Midoriya approached his door and pulled it open.

Bakugo stood in the doorway with a wide smirk. “So Izuku. Care to explain?”

Midoriya yelped, backing into his room. “Kacchan! What are you doing here?”

“Pink Cheeks. Now, tell me why you were out there performing like a goddamn acrobat,” demanded Bakugo, inviting himself in with two cups of tea.

“It’s really not as interesting as you may think. Mina told me I lost a bet and she dared me to recreate a video,” elaborate Midoriya swiftly, not wanting to beat around the bush when it came to Bakugo.

“Go figure. Why do you always manage to get wrapped up in her dumb schemes,” grumbled Bakugo, crashing onto Midoriya's bed.

Midoriya smiled a bit, looking at his desk where Bakugo managed to put down the tea without him noticing. “If I knew how, I wouldn't have been out there.”

Bakugo scoffed, staring at Midoriya where he was standing. “Where the hell did you learn how to do a split?”

“I can’t really do a split, but after using my legs so much I guess I got more flexible,” assumed Midoriya. He didn’t know how he managed to get so limber. He did his usual stretches to avoid injuries but didn’t go out of his way to work on flexibility.

“It sure as hell looked like a split to me,” argued Bakugo. It didn’t take a genius to see a true split.

Midoriya smiled, sitting next to Bakugo on the bed. “When the rain clears up we can head to the gym and see for sure.”

“Alright, just don’t cry when you find out I’m right,” professed Bakugo confidently, making a home on Midoriya’s bed.

“You’re an idiot,” laughed Midoriya, finally lying down next to Bakugo.

“Shut up!”

No Justification for a Life Lived Without Passion

It all seemed so sudden.

Midoriya had been trying to pick up the pieces of his life after the war. After losing his quirk, he’d been trying to find his place in UA. Midoriya was so focused on trying to find himself again, he failed to see what was forming between his classmates.

Class 2-A was nearing the end of the school year when it came out that Todoroki and Bakugo had begun dating. Midoriya, who had loved Bakugo since childhood, was devastated.

Uraraka seemed worried for Midoriya because she was the only one aware of Midoriya’s crush on Bakugo. Rather than congratulating the new couple, Uraraka quickly rushed Midoriya off to her room.

“How could I have not seen it?” cried Midoriya, tightly squeezing Uraraka’s pillow.

Uraraka let out a shallow breath. “I knew they were getting closer, but I didn’t think they’d be getting closer romantically.”

Midoriya tried his best to speak, but sobs came out instead. Uraraka gently rubbed Midoriya’s back, pity in her eyes.

“It’s all my fault. If I wasn’t so worthless Kacchan would have noticed me,” wept Midoriya, his back hunching forward as he began hyperventilating.

“Never say that again. You are the greatest hero that’s ever existed. You are beautiful. You’ve done an amazing job despite the shit thrown your way. Never amount your worth to a boy’s attention,” lectured Uraraka, cupping Midoriya's face and shooting Midoriya a warning stare.

Midoriya wilted a bit, his lips wobbling. “I’m a horrible friend.”

Uraraka’s frown deepened, her concern getting worse. “Why would you ever say that? You’re an amazing friend. I couldn’t imagine anyone filling the space you have in my heart.”

“I should be happy for them. I should be down in the common room congratulating them. I should be laughing and doing something dumb with you, not crying in your room about heartbreak. I’ve been a crappy friend since the war,” revealed Midoriya, staring up at the ceiling.

Uraraka crashed beside Midoriya, grabbing his hand gently. “I’d rather be here to support you at your low points like you always did for me. While I hate to see you upset, I’m happy I can be here for you. There’s always another day to do something stupid and fun.”

Midoriya remained quiet for a bit, taking deep breaths as he gathered his thoughts. “I want to get away from here.”

“Huh? What do you mean?” asked Uraraka, curious as to what Midoriya was thinking.

“I want to see the world, maybe transfer schools. I don’t want to be some hero sidekick. I think that would hurt more than not being a hero at all,” confessed Midoriya, finally opening up about the thoughts he’s had since the war ended.

Uraraka sat up, looking down at Midoriya. “Really? You want to leave?”

Midoriya sat up, quickly grabbing tissues to wipe his runny nose. “Honestly… yeah. I just don’t feel like this is the place for me anymore. I feel isolated and trapped. I’m only here because of you all.”

“I don’t want you to leave, but I understand why you want to. Sometimes it’s hard to be here without all the reminders of the past. We used to be so youthful and happy,” reminisced Uraraka, recalling how innocent it all used to be.

“Now everything is so… so ugly,” commented Midoriya, picking at one of his dozens of scars.

Uraraka hesitated a bit before responding, “Yeah. I don’t know if you feel the same, but it also seems empty.”

“Mhm. Maybe it makes me childish, but I think Kacchan and Shoto getting together was my final straw,” mumbled Midoriya.

“Whatever you decide, just know I will support you and be there with you through every step,” reassured Uraraka, grabbing a tissue and blowing her nose.

The rest of class 2-A were shocked by the sudden news of a relationship. Kirishima was beyond confused. He had thought that Bakugo and Midoriya were in a secret relationship. There was this oddly electric tension between the duo.

Iida was supportive of Todoroki and Bakugo’s relationship, but he was extremely concerned for Midoriya. It was clear he didn’t take the news well and Uraraka was quick to drag him off. It was clear there was something he didn’t know.

Kaminari and Jiro were supportive, cheering on Bakugo for making a move. Many students decided to confess their love after the war, worried about the possibility of never being able to get the chance to. Kaminari and Jiro were one of the couples and they were going strong.

Many others in the class were surprised and happy. It was always fun to have a new couple to tease and pick on.

When Todoroki and Bakugo decided to tell the class that they were dating, they were the most excited to see Midoriya’s reaction. They couldn’t wait to see his shocked expression and hear his happy analysis mumbling which was rare since the war.

They did not get the reaction they expected. Midoriya’s eyes widened in shock, but a smile didn’t accompany it. His pained expression came as fast as it left, but both Todoroki and Bakugo saw the hurt in his face.

Midoriya was quick to cover up whatever he was truly feeling and offer a smile. Except his smile was nothing in comparison to the blinding, toothy smile we wore day in and day out when they were first years.

Before they could reach out to him or even look to one another to make sure the other saw his reaction too, Uraraka made a move. Uraraka wasn’t smiling as she snuck her hand into Midoriya’s and guided him away.

Midoriya didn’t put up a fight and mindlessly followed. They watched as Kirishima turned to ask Midoriya and Uraraka what was up, but quickly shut his mouth after seeing something.

Kirishima shot Uraraka a thumbs up with a sympathetic frown and Uraraka nodded her head in response.

Todoroki and Bakugo quickly felt concern bubble to the surface. The first thing that came to mind was that something was going on with Midoriya that they weren’t aware of. The second thought they both shared was that something was going on with Midoriya that they should have been aware of and completely forgotten.

“We’ll talk to Izuku later,” whispered Bakugo, resting a hand on Todoroki’s shoulder.

Todoroki nodded, raising a hand to rest on top of Bakugo’s. “Okay, good. I’m worried.”

Midoriya spent a lot of time with Toshinori after the war. When all of class 2-A tried avoiding Midoriya to avoid their feelings, Toshinori was the one Midoriya could open up to.

The mentor-student, father-son duo bonded deeply over the loss of One for All. Toshinori was nearing the end of his mental recovery and Midoriya was in the beginning of his. They lost it within a year of each other so they could bond over something they miss. They could bond over being quirkless, gaining a quirk, and being quirkless again.

After Midoriya could maintain his composure for longer than five minutes, Uraraka suggested that Midoriya talks to All Might. “I think All Might would be a great person to talk to about wanting to get away. Maybe he could offer some advice or wisdom,” offered Uraraka, flashing a gentle smile.

“You’re right. I’ll go talk to him now,” agreed Midoriya, feeling a lot better with Uraraka guiding him in the right direction. Right now, he needed someone he admired and someone who would want the best for him.

Uraraka rose from her bed and tightly hugged Midoriya. “I just want you to know… no matter what you decide to do, I’ll always want you to be a part of my life. You are the best friend I could have asked for and I don’t plan on letting you escape our friendship.”

“I wouldn’t dream of it,” laughed Midoriya, carefully hugging Uraraka.

Midoriya stood by the elevator and called Toshinori. “All Might.”

“Young Midoriya!” cheered Toshinori from the other side of the phone.

“Can we talk?” asked Midoriya shyly, suddenly feeling nervous that Toshinori might reject.

“Of course. Is something wrong?” inquired Toshinori, concern laced in his tone.

Midoriya panicked, not wanting to worry Toshinori. “Not necessarily! It’s just I have a lot on my mind, and I wanted to talk about it with you.”

“Well, perfect you called me now! I’m going on my afternoon stroll. I can meet you in front of the 2-A alliance and you can join me,” invited Toshinori, practically beaming where he was standing.

“Okay, I’ll be down quickly.”

“See you soon, Young Midoriya.”

“See you, All Might.”

Midoriya quickly took the elevator down to the ground floor and quickly made a beeline for the entrance. Most of class 2-A was still down in the common room and watched Midoriya make his way out.

Kirishima jumped up from his seat and rushed over. “Hey Midoriya!”

Midoriya quickly turned to face Kirishima with a kind smile. “Hi Kirishima, what’s up?”

“I just wanted to make sure you’re okay,” revealed Kirishima, lowering his voice to keep people from hearing.

Midoriya couldn’t stop the surprise from showing on his face. “Oh, uh,” stammered Midoriya before taking a deep breath and smiling. “I’m okay. I just needed a moment. I’m sorry for worrying you.”

Kirishima shook his head with a toothy smile. “Nonsense! You have nothing to apologize for! But seriously… I thought you are Bakugo were dating and just hiding it from everyone.”

“Well, I can’t lie… I thought Kacchan felt the same way. Guess I was naive and too blind to notice the truth,” chuckled Midoriya bitterly.

“If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I’m here for you. I actually wanted to ask you to go to a hero convention with me. I bought two tickets, but Kaminari ditched me at the last minute,” wined Kirishima, throwing his head back dramatically.

Midoriya clapped his hands together, excited that hero conventions were still happening. He hadn’t had the time to think about silly things like that in a while. “I’d love to go with you!”

Kirishima perked up, beyond relieved. “Really? Great! I’ll text you the details later. Anyways, where are you going?”

“Oh— crap! I am going to have a talk with All Might! Sorry! I really must go! He’s probably waiting on me!” rambled Midoriya, backing away quickly to the doorway.

“It’s alright man! See you later!”

Midoriya threw on his shoes and ran out. Most of the class had heard the part that Midoriya was going to talk with All Might. His panic was loud enough for everyone to eavesdrop. Looking out the window, they watched as Midoriya approached All Might who was standing by the bottom of the stairs.

Toshinori naturally opened his arms and Midoriya quickly rushed into the embrace. After a quick, but tight hug, Toshinori appeared to ask Midoriya a question. Whatever Midoriya said stunned Toshinori, but Toshinori didn’t appear to be completely surprised by whatever was said.

“So, what did you want to talk about, Young Midoriya?”

“I think I want to move away from here,” confessed Midoriya, a bit worried about Toshinori’s response.

Toshinori took a moment to compose himself and respond, but he smiled. “That’s understandable. May I ask why?”

“I don’t think I want to become a hero just to be a sidekick. That may make me a selfish person, but I don’t think I can mentally handle being so close yet so far from my dream,” explained Midoriya, beginning to walk.

“That doesn’t make you selfish. I understand why you’d rather just scrap it all than be a sidekick. What would you rather do than be a hero? Have you thought of that?” questioned Toshinori, wanting to make sure Midoriya had mapped out his plan thoughtfully.

Midoriya nodded, looking up at the sky. “Yes… I was thinking about going to the US and becoming a support item developer with Melissa Shield. Since we are both quirkless and interested in heroes, it would be cool to work together.”

Toshinori perked up at that. He was very fond of Melissa despite the betrayal of her father, David Shield, who had been his sidekick. “That’s a great idea. I’m sure you’d easily be able to transfer to a school in the States. I’d even accompany you since I’m familiar with California.”

“Really? You don’t think I’d be making a mistake?” questioned Midoriya, feeling a bit uneasy.

“If leaving Japan for a couple of years would make you happier and allow you to try something new that would bring joy to your life, I don’t think you’d be making a mistake,” rationalized Toshinori, providing Midoriya with a new outlook on leaving UA High.

Midoriya smiled, feeling a bit relieved. “Yeah. I think I’ll finish this school year and transfer over for my third year.”

Toshinori grinned, holding a thumbs up. “You could even do a student exchange program. You could remain a hero student and try out different things.”

“Yeah… I’ll talk to Aizawa and Nezu about it. I think leaving for a bit would be for the best. I was already on the fence, but today pushed me over the edge,” sighed Midoriya, looking down at his scarred hands.

“What happened?” questioned Toshinori worriedly.

Midoriya’s face glowed a bright red as he realized he’d never really talked about his love life before. “Well, it’s a bit embarrassing to say out loud but, I like Kacchan… romantically.”

“Ah, I figured something more was going on between you too,” chuckled Toshinori, happy to hear Midoriya wasn’t afraid to love.

“Kacchan… is dating Todoroki,” whispered Midoriya, feeling his throat tighten from having to say it out loud. The wound was still too fresh.

Toshinori stopped walking, feeling his heart break as he watched Midoriya crumble before him. “Oh, my boy, I’m so sorry.”

Midoriya didn’t fight it when Toshinori wrapped him up in his arms and gently rubbed his back. Midoriya rather melted into the touch as he began to cry again. “I feel so stupid.”

“You’re not stupid, you're far from it,” argued Toshinori, refusing to let Midoriya talk badly about himself.

“I should have confessed when I had the chance. I should have noticed that Kacchan had his eyes on someone else. I was just delusional,” cried Midoriya, tightly squeezing Toshinori’s shirt.

Toshinori frowned as Midoriya cried into his chest. He hated to see Midoriya cry. Watching your kid experience his first heartbreak was devastating. There was nothing you could do to help.

Toshinori took a deep breath before pulling back. “I may not know what it’s like to fall in love with my best friend and they fall in love with another. But I do know what it’s like to never confess and regret it later. As the number one hero, I was never able to keep a long-term relationship. Whether it was out of my control, or I was scared.”

“Really?”

“Really. So never feel bad for not confessing but take it as a lesson. Many people experience what you are going through. Take this moment and never hesitate when it comes to love,” encouraged Toshinori, offering Midoriya a heroic smile as he wiped away Midoriya’s tears.

The rest of their walk was peaceful. The sun was shining brightly, and the air was warm. Midoriya cherished moments like these. The war seemed like a faint memory when the world was so beautiful, and he was spending his time beside the man he grew up admiring.

Uraraka and Midoriya agreed to meet after dinner to talk. It just so happened that Todoroki and Bakugo chose that time to approach Midoriya to check up on him.

“I’m really worried about Midoriya,” sighed Todoroki, wishing the elevator would move faster despite Midoriya’s dorm only being on the second floor.

“I’m sure Izuku’s fine. We are probably being paranoid,” guessed Bakugo, going against his better judgment.

By the time they reached Midoriya’s floor, they could faintly hear him talking. The couple paused, carefully inching closer to Midoriya’s dorm room door. They could hear Uraraka's voice as well.

Todoroki and Bakugo exchanged a wary glance. They thought Uraraka and Midoriya had already talked today. They were curious when Uraraka and Midoriya got close again considering the two had distanced themselves after the war.

“See, I told you he’d be the best person for you to talk to!” gloated Uraraka for being right.

“Yeah, he was supportive of my plans and ideas,” noted Midoriya, his voice upbeat.

The shifting of sheets could be heard from inside the room before Uraraka asked, “What is your plan? I don’t think you ever told me exactly what your ideas were.”

Todoroki and Bakugo were equally lost. Midoriya hadn't mentioned plans or ideas recently. The last serious conversation Midoriya had with either of them was about how his training was going. Even then, he didn’t have much to say.

Neither Todoroki nor Bakugo realized how little they knew about Midoriya anymore.

Midoriya was quick to respond to Uraraka. “I was planning on moving to the United States. Specifically, California to work with Melissa Shield. Since we are both quirkless, it would be nice to work with her.”

Bakugo felt his heart momentarily stop, horrified to hear Midoriya wanted to leave. After the last time Midoriya left UA, he’d never heard Midoriya entertain the thought of leaving again. It would be an understatement to say Bakugo didn’t want Midoriya to leave. He dreaded the mere thought of not seeing Midoriya each day. He couldn’t imagine not being able to see Midoriya smile and hear him say Kacchan.

Todoroki felt sick, unable to imagine not having Midoriya at arm’s reach. After having Midoriya there at every stage of his life, he didn’t want to lose someone so important. Still, Midoriya has been nothing but supportive to him, so he wanted to return the same support.

“That’s actually a really good idea! Are you planning on continuing your hero education or are you going to change your goal?” questioned Uraraka with excitement in her voice.

“All Might said he'd set me up with a foreign exchange student program if I wanted. That way I could get the best of both worlds. Still, I think I may just go into support gear with Melissa,” answered Midoriya, still leaning more toward giving up on being a hero.

It was quiet for a bit. Todoroki and Bakugo remained frozen in place, waiting for Midoriya and Uraraka to finish their conversation before fully panicking.

“You sure you don’t want to be my sidekick? We’d be one hell of a team,” teased Uraraka, even though there was a trace of sorrow in her voice.

“No… I wouldn’t even want to be Kacchan's sidekick,” opposed Midoriya quickly.

“Damn. Is that just because you don’t want to be a sidekick that bad or is it because of your unreciprocated feelings?” interrogated Uraraka, struggling to make light of the entire situation.

Bakugo felt his entire world stop. Izuku Midoriya had a crush on him. Midoriya, his childhood friend, loved him. Deku, the boy he fought next to during a war, wanted to be with him. Midoriya liked him the entire time.

Todoroki on the other hand felt incredible guilt. While it wasn’t his fault and Bakugo had been the one to ask him out, he couldn’t help but feel like he stole Bakugo from Midoriya. He couldn’t help but feel like he was inconsiderate of Midoriya’s feelings. If he had known Midoriya liked Bakugo, he would have never accepted the confession.

“A mixture of both. It may sound stupid but after the war… I fought with my mother so hard to let me stay here. At that point in time, you all were ignoring me. Kacchan was all I had, and I didn’t even know how to talk to him… but I stayed because of him. Now that he’s with Todoroki, I don’t have anything to stay for. They have each other now,” lamented Midoriya, feeling a bit empty now that he was saying it out loud.

“It’s not stupid. It makes a lot of sense. Besides, an upside to you going to the United States for a bit is you’ll have the opportunity to move on,” offered Uraraka, feeling bad for Midoriya.

Midoriya seemed a bit happy as he announced, “All Might said he’d even go with me! Wouldn’t that be amazing?”

Uraraka gasped, clapping her hands. “That would be perfect! I think having him around would be good for you. Since you’ll be experiencing a lot of changes by moving.”

“I’m a bit nervous to move because of that. Making new friends while learning a new language and picking up a new career goal is a lot,” sighed Midoriya loudly.

“You’ll have no problem making friends!” refuted Uraraka, offended Midoriya was nervous about having to make new friends.

Midoriya was quiet in response. Bakugo and Todoroki shared a concerned glance. Uraraka's voice greeted them first. “Deku? What’s wrong?”

“What if they think I’m worthless or ugly? I’m covered head to toe in scars, my hair is uneven, I’m quirkless, I’ll be the UA High dropout,” listed Midoriya, not bothering to downplay his concerns.

“Listen to me very carefully. I said this earlier, but I think you need the reminder. You became the greatest hero to ever exist. Those scars are reminders of the blood, sweat, and tears you sacrificed for the safety of others. Your hair will finish growing out by the time fall comes around.”

Midoriya opened his mouth only for Uraraka to shush him violently. “Silence! You won’t be known as a UA dropout. You fought in a war that many pro heroes didn’t survive. Everyone will be super excited to be in a class with you! Besides, who cares if you’re quirkless? You could probably lift this entire building with your pinky.”

Midoriya couldn’t help but laugh at that last comment. “I guess you’re right. Still, I just don’t think I’ll ever be the same. I don’t want to give up on being a hero, but the world is unfair.”

“Why don’t you take up Toshinori’s offer? Be a foreign exchange student in the hero program. Work with Melissa and have her develop support gear for you. You can still be a powerful hero! You still have all your combat knowledge under your belt,” suggested Uraraka, trying to motivate Midoriya to not give up on his dreams.

“I’ll talk to Aizawa about it. I’m not even sure if I’ll end up moving to America. I just think I’d be a lot happier if I got away from this place,” admitted Midoriya.

Bakugo and Todoroki rose to their feet and tried to gather their thoughts. Todoroki whispered to Bakugo. “What if we pretend to get off the elevator? That way he won’t know we overheard.”

“Yeah, let’s go,” agreed Bakugo, sneaking into the elevator before closing and opening the door.

The duo was talking at a normal volume and immediately noticed Uraraka and Midoriya stopped talking.

Bakugo knocked on the door, trying to remain calm. “Izuku? It’s me and Todoroki. Can we come in?”

“Yeah, Uraraka is here too,” answered Midoriya calmly.

Bakugo opened the door and walked in. Todoroki followed close behind, stopping to slowly close the door. The first thing both noticed was that Midoriya’s room lacked its usual amount of All Might merchandise.

Bakugo nodded at Uraraka before confronting Midoriya. “What’s going on Izuku? You’ve been off today.”

“It’s just been a weird day,” answered Midoriya shortly, not even sure how to speak to Bakugo anymore.

Todoroki frowned, sitting in Midoriya’s desk chair. “Are you sure that’s it? You seemed off this morning and even seemed a bit off when talking to Kirishima.”

Uraraka turned to Midoriya, curious. “You talked to Kirishima earlier?”

“Yeah, Kirishima approached me earlier. He just invited me to a hero convention. I was super excited and agreed to go, but I guess I just started thinking about how different everything is now and how I haven’t had time to go to one,” rambled Midoriya, quickly coming up with an excuse.

Todoroki nodded, knowing that wasn’t the truth, but took it. “Oh, that makes sense.”

Bakugo narrowed his eyes, wanting Midoriya to be honest. “What about this morning? You were acting strange. Pink Cheeks here dragged you off.”

“It was a rough morning, that’s all. I’m fine,” dismissed Midoriya, not planning on telling Bakugo or Todoroki anything.

“Okay, as long as you’re okay. I was worried,” replied Todoroki, not wanting Midoriya to withdraw any further.

The rest of the talk was bland and awkward. Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugo were aware of how broken their friendship was, but there was no easy way of mending it. The war changed each of them so much and they never took the time to talk about everything that happened. They seemed to dodge the touchy subjects and handle them on their own.

Bakugo had to deal with the trauma of dying on the battlefield and the effort it took to rehabilitate his arm and strengthen his heart while also being careful. Todoroki was busy dealing with mending his broken family and the physical recovery of each person. Toya was the worst and Enji was in close second. Still, Todoroki didn’t have any desire to open up about what was going on or how he was feeling about the situation.

Midoriya was dealing with something else entirely. Midoriya was still trying to recover from the events that occurred early in the year. The large number of near-death encounters he had provided his nightmares with unlimited fuel. The backlash from countless civilians in the fallout of the first war made him scared to show his face in public. Seeing all his friends and idols injured and fatally wounded on the battleground was horrifying and those moments would forever be imprinted in his mind. Those were just some of the things Midoriya had to deal with. He also had things like losing both of his arms, feeling like he failed to save Tenko, missing the past users of One for All, and being quirkless again.

There was so much Midoriya held inside and struggled to cope with. Midoriya knew his friends needed just as much help as he did, but he never truly bounced back after initially feeling ignored. It was very similar to the isolation he felt when he was young and quirkless.

Bakugo and Todoroki never reached out and Midoriya was too depressed to put energy into maintaining relationships. Now Bakugo and Todoroki were happily dating and finally seeing just how badly they failed Midoriya.

Midoriya completed his second year at U.A. High before quickly leaving for America. Toshinori and Inko followed closely behind, ready to give Izuku the future he deserved. Class 2-A, now 3-A missed Midoriya's presence, realizing too late just how much he needed their attention and support. They had to watch Midoriya mentally and physically recover through news articles, reports, and social media posts.

Todoroki, Bakugo, and Uraraka never told anyone the reason why Midoriya left Japan and U.A. High. Even though Todoroki and Bakugo broke up shortly after five months of being together, they’d forever remember they were the final nudge Midoriya needed to leave.

It's Not My Fault I'm Perfect

Confidence was one hell of a drug. Izuku Midoriya was used to helplessly hoping for a brighter future even though he never had the confidence to back up his desire. Suddenly he had the body he had always dreamed of having, met his idol, gained a quirk, got into his dream school, and had more friends than he could count with his fingers.

It was safe to say Midoriya gained confidence. Where he’d usually stay on the sidelines and try to make himself as small as possible, he was now running face-first into the limelight. There was something exhilarating about showing off his abilities as a hero and how he was the best at what he did.

His ex-bully, Katsuki Bakugo, tried to break down Midoriya’s confidence in the beginning. It was only a matter of time until he realized just how much he liked seeing Midoriya all confident and empowered. It took some time to get used to, but Bakugo was quick to learn from his mistakes and atone for them.

For the young heroes in training, their third year came around before class 3-A could comprehend how fast time was passing. Midoriya, Bakugo, and Todoroki were the notorious big three. It only made sense after they fought the most dangerous villains in the war.

Midoriya didn’t realize how great it could feel to be on top. He was already a villain magnet before they figured out his quirk, so not much was going to change.

Imagine Midoriya’s shock when some random, first year, hero-in-training nobody tried starting a feud with him. Of course, it was all one-sided.

Uraraka, Midoriya, and Bakugo were having their weekly spa day when Mina rushed in holding her phone. “Oh my god! Guys, you gotta read this!”

Midoriya sat up, removing his head from Uraraka’s lap. Midoriya’s face was only half-done and Uraraka was holding a container of clay face mask.

Bakugo was already finished, his spiky bangs held back with an Edge Shot-themed headband. Bakugo rolled his eyes, not thrilled that their quiet time was interrupted.

“What’s up, Mina?” questioned Midoriya, slightly worried by Mina’s tone.

“Some random first-year at Ketsubutsu Academy was attacking you online!” revealed Mina in anger, not appreciating some random person trying to defame Midoriya.

Bakugo and Uraraka’s attention was captured, heads snapping to watch Midoriya’s reaction to see if they needed to attack this fool. Midoriya was frozen momentarily, considering how he wanted to respond to this news. Knowing this first-year was already going to be reprimanded by a majority of Japan, he didn’t worry too much. He did defeat Shigaraki on live television after all. Picking a fight with the person who saved the world is a stupid move.

Throwing an apple slice into his mouth, Midoriya shrugged. “Eagles don’t fly with chickens.”

Uraraka and Bakugo’s heads snapped away from Midoriya to each other. While they knew Midoriya could get sassy, they didn’t realize he was capable of throwing out insults that would put a chronically-online jerk to shame.

“You are so right about that Midoriya. They said that your quirk wasn’t even that good because of your scars. They said something about them making you look old,” groaned Mina, not bothering to read the post out loud to Midoriya.

“What? I’m so timeless and sexy though!” gasped Midoriya, well aware he was anything but sexy at the moment. He had on an AllMight headband, a hot-sauce-stained tee shirt, and a pair of Bakugo’s old baggy sweatpants.

Bakugo smirked, looking at Midoriya. “Damn right Izuku!”

Uraraka laughed to herself, happy to be surrounded by people who would never let something so childish get to them. It gave her the courage to take every insult or unsolicited comment and return it with nothing but the brutal truth. She felt a sense of ease around them and knew that they felt the same way with her.

“When did you get so sassy Deku?” questioned Uraraka, amused by this sudden wave of iconic clap-backs.

“After dealing with the past users of One for All for so long, you learn to return their energy,” revealed Midoriya, remaining vague about the reason why he’s sassy with them.

Bakugo didn’t say anything as he got up from his seat and joined Uraraka and Midoriya on the carpet. “This little shit had been acting all innocent around you and the rest of our class, but he’s a brat as soon as he’s alone with me.”

Midoriya feigned hurt, not enjoying this personal attack. “How dare you make these accusations about me Kacchan?”

“Accuse? No, I’m exposing you,” corrected Bakugo, his smirk wide and threatening.

“Sorry Deku, but I’m with Bakugo on this one,” chuckled Uraraka, more than happy to fluster Midoriya for no specific reason.

In response Midoriya huffed and began messing with his hair. Mina was holding back laughter, secretly recording the entire exchange. “What are you doing?”

Midoriya looked over to Mina with an oddly calm expression, “Huh? Oh, I’m just pulling out the grey hairs this experience has given me.”

Mina could no longer contain her laughter, loving how witty Midoriya truly was. It seemed the Uraraka was on the same boat and fell into laughter as well. Bakugo smiled, looking at Midoriya before sneak attacking him and giving him a noogie.

After the four calmed down, Mina seemed to remember her whole point of coming in. “Are you going to do anything about it?”

Bakugo cracked his knuckles. “Well, I’m going to blast that extra into outer space for taking shit about Izuku like that. The idiot wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for him saving the fucking world.”

Midoriya smiled, letting his hand rest on Bakugo’s back to feel his heartbeat. “No need. I’m not going to do anything. Me ignoring him is letting him know that he is irrelevant to me. Giving him attention would only give him power.”

“Yeah, and I don’t think we have to worry about teaching him a lesson. Midoriya is too popular for his fans to not attack this guy,” reminded Uraraka, aware of how crazy some of Midoriya’s fans could be.

Midoriya grinned, looking at his hands in thought before looking over to the three. “I want to see if I can convince Nezu to bring his class over to train. That way I can make an appearance. I know the moment he spots me he’ll start to panic.”

Bakugo nodded, meeting Midoriya’s gaze. “All bark, no bite.”

“Just like you,” commented Midoriya with sly wit.

In an instant, Bakugo was after Midoriya. Explosions filling the room. Spa day was ruined.

Stop It I'm Going To Puke

BakuDeku, IidaOcha, IzuOcha!Friendship-centric

Midoriya is just an amazing person and Uraraka really appreciates Midoriya.

Uraraka was heavily pregnant. Iida did his best to be around throughout her pregnancy, but there were times he couldn’t. Whenever Iida wasn’t available, Midoriya made sure he would be. Uraraka needed constant support and a person to lean on.

Uraraka had morning sickness throughout her entire pregnancy. She and the baby were healthy, but oftentimes she couldn’t hold down a healthy meal. Even when she’d eat something she was craving, moments later would be repulsed by what she had just eaten and throw it all up.

Midoriya often shunned Iida for forcing her to follow a meal plan. Iida only had good intentions of making Uraraka a meal plan to make sure that she and the baby were getting the necessary nutrient requirements without having unhealthy foods. While it was a good idea, it backfired on Uraraka’s part. If she wasn’t holding anything down then what was the point of making her follow a meal plan?

Uraraka’s morning sickness didn’t stop once her second trimester came around, meaning she’d still have a rough relationship with food. Uraraka’s morning sickness was also unpredictable. Some days it would come out of nowhere and other days it was a long, lingering feeling. Midoriya was able to pick up cues and assist her accordingly. Midoriya got especially good at pulling up her hair and clipping up her bangs.

Midoriya would go shopping with Uraraka and they’d buy the most random foods that would appease her cravings. While morning sickness didn’t necessarily harm her or the baby, Uraraka’s constant puking was not a good thing.

Midoriya stepped up to get her what she needed and made sure to keep her away from the kitchen to help her from getting scent-sick. She was very sensitive to certain smells.

Midoriya helped get stuff for the nursery for Iida and would listen to Uraraka ramble about moving things around. Midoriya would help clean occasionally and help Uraraka with even self-care. He’d put on compression socks for when she’d walk on the treadmill or do pregnancy workouts. He'd rub her back if she got sick and would place a cold cloth around her neck. Midoriya would cook for her and get her whatever she needed.

Midoriya knew Uraraka was more than capable, but she was in a vulnerable state. Uraraka deserved to be treated like a queen and Midoriya would do anything for his best friend. They’d binge-watch movies and shows. Midoriya and Uraraka would gossip in the pool. They’d do extreme skincare routines. They’d never been closer.

Uraraka would console Midoriya when he’d come over right after a patrol. Midoriya and Iida had worked with the hero commission to schedule their patrols. Whenever Iida wasn’t working, Midoriya would work. Whenever Iida was working, Midoriya wouldn’t be working. Midoriya worked six days a week since he was the number one hero. Midoriya was given assigned patrols, but before Uraraka’s pregnancy, he was on-call.

Somedays were very difficult for Midoriya as the number one hero. There was such a giant pressure on him to be perfect. Of course, it all came crumbling down when he had a chance to breathe behind closed doors. Uraraka and Midoriya were always there for one another and that never changed as the years rolled by.

Midoriya was cuddling with Bakugo when he got the call. Looking at his phone, he noticed it was Iida. Seeing there was nothing to hide from Bakugo, Midoriya put the call on speaker. Bakugo perked up upon seeing Midoriya press the button. He couldn’t lie he had been wanting to hear what was up as well.

“Izuku,” greeted Iida.

“Hello Iida! What’s up?” asked Midoriya happily.

“Come to the hospital, Uraraka is in labor,” revealed Iida, sounding beyond excited and nervous.

Midoriya flew off the couch, gasping dramatically as his face lit up. “Oh my god— really! Hold on! I’m on my way!” Uraraka was only a week from her due date so Midoriya had been anticipating the call, but nothing prepared him for when the moment finally came.

Bakugo watched his boyfriend in amusement. A part of him believed Midoriya was even more excited than Iida. Midoriya loved Uraraka dearly. Uraraka was Midoriya’s first friend and she was his best friend. Bakugo recalled Mina teasing Midoriya and Uraraka because of how close they were. She mistook their unshakable bond for a puppy-love crush. Bakugo never worried about Uraraka though, Midoriya was always his.

Iida laughed at Midoriya’s outburst, well aware that his friend was beyond excited. “Don’t rush. We have no idea how long this will take.”

“Okay, well Kacchan and I will be heading out now,” puffed Midoriya, out of breath from his giant freakout.

“Great, see you two soon.”

“Bye!”

Bakugo grabbed his keys, wallet, and phone. Midoriya followed suit, grabbing his things before rushing after his boyfriend. Bakugo held open the door for Midoriya after they threw on their shoes. Midoriya slipped out their front door and rushed to the car. The entire drive there, Bakugo tightly gripped Midoriya’s hand, their fingers intertwined. Midoriya’s joy radiated through the car but was contained as Bakugo’s touch never failed to sedate him.

They arrived at the hospital and it seemed as if Uraraka had just finished giving birth. The clean-up was happening currently so they’d have to wait a bit before they’d be allowed in. The two took a seat in the waiting room, happily chatting about everything and anything.

Bakugo rolled his eyes, side-eyeing Midoriya. “I feel like you were more excited about this baby than four-eyes was.”

“Impossible. Uraraka is my best friend, but Iida’s her husband. He probably had a different way of showing it,” disagreed Midoriya with a smirk, slightly elbowing Bakugo in the arm.

“Iida called you all calm and collected and you were the one freaking out like it’s your baby,” teased Bakugo, happy to mess with his lover.

“Kacchan!” groaned Midoriya, being dramatic as usual.

Soon enough, the doctor came out asking for the two. Midoriya and Bakugo were escorted to the room where Uraraka would be staying. Upon entering, it took everything in his power to not squeal in delight. As Midoriya approached Uraraka who was holding the baby, Midoriya’s jaw dropped upon seeing the most beautiful infant.

The baby had light brown hair with blue undertones, chubby cheeks, and gorgeous red eyes. Swaddled in a light yellow blanket, Midoriya had never seen a more tiny and adorable sight.

Uraraka was laying in the hospital bed and when she saw Midoriya her smile grew. Midoriya rushed to her side, hugging her carefully. “I came as soon as I heard.”

“I’m sure you did Izuku,” chuckled Uraraka fondly. “Wanna see the little munchkin?”

Midoriya nodded so hard that the three in the room were worried it would snap off. Midoriya sat down on the edge of the bed with an excited smile. Iida helped take the baby from Uraraka’s arms, careful not to disturb the baby. Iida came over with the baby, extending it out to Midoriya.

Uraraka finally spoke up. “Meet Izuku Iida.”

Midoriya had his hands extended out and let out a soft laugh while quickly glancing to the side where Uraraka was. “What?”

Suddenly Midoriya’s eyes widened as he processed what was happening. A look of pure shock graced his features as a hand rose to rest against his chest. His eyes snapped from Uraraka to Iida. The two chuckled fondly at Midoriya’s reaction.

“No you did not,” whispered Midoriya, still not recovering from the shock.

Uraraka and Iida exchanged a glance before looking back at Izuku and laughing. “Yes.”

Midoriya’s lip trembled, the touched expression on his face tugging at the duo's heartstrings. His hand remained close to his chest as the tears started falling. Midoriya’s voice cracked as he tried to speak. “No, you did not.” Midoriya cried a bit, covering his mouth.

Bakugo watched the scene with wide eyes, not having been filled in on this happening. Watching his boyfriend get the honor of having his best friend's child named after him caught him off guard. He smiled at the sight, he enjoyed watching the emotions on Midoriya’s switch at a fast pace. It was mesmerizing.

Midoriya cried as he reached out to hold the baby that was named after him. Iida grinned as he passed him off to Midoriya. “His name’s Izuku.”

Midoriya held the baby so carefully, supporting the baby’s tiny head like it was the most valuable treasure in the world. Midoriya cried as he rested the baby on his lap, brushing the baby’s crazy hair back with his finger. Midoriya cried as he wore a smile, enamored with the baby.

“Why would you do this to me?” cried Midoriya, embarrassed at making a scene.

Bakugo stared at Midoriya handling the baby and felt his chest pound from his rapidly beating heart. He was proposing as soon as possible. While Bakugo was falling deeper in love, Uraraka and Iida were still touched by how much Midoriya’s reaction moved them.

Midoriya’s thumb caressed the baby’s cheek as he used his shoulder to wipe his tears. Izuku repeatedly thanked them about how honored he felt to have their child be named after him.

“Izuku, you are everything we aspire to be. We are deeply grateful for everything you have done for us. You’ve been a wonderful friend and this is the least we could do,” admitted Iida bashfully, his cheeks rosy.

Uraraka raised a brow with an amused smirk. “You held my hair back as I puked in a vase. You researched labor training workouts with me. You made me delicious food. You always showed up when I needed you. Even if you were having a bad day, you never once hesitated to show up and take care of me. I love you Izuku, and my baby deserves no other name than yours.”

Midoriya was still crying and tilted his head to the ceiling. “Stop it, I’m going to puke.”

Bakugo wasn’t aware of everything Midoriya had been doing. He assumed the two were just hanging out more since Uraraka was on work leave and would need some assistance. He hadn’t realized just how far Midoriya had gone for Uraraka. Besides, Bakugo didn’t really know what happens during pregnancy.

Bakugo came over and kissed Midoriya’s head tenderly before looking at the baby with Midoriya. “Brat definitely looks like you two,” grumbled Bakugo, showing his support.

Iida and Uraraka smiled, glad Bakugo wanted to see their child as well. Eventually, the news broke out and it became a whole story. The wonder duo was also declared as the godparents of Izuku Iida, which no one was surprised by.

Baby fever hit Izuku and Bakugo hard, but they did have to get married before even thinking about having a kid. Neither had been in a rush and were satisfied with just being in a relationship. Bakugo and Midoriya had a rocky relationship in the beginning. They may have grown up together, but they had a lot to learn.

Bakugo, Iida, and Midoriya were 25 while Uraraka was soon going to turn 25 in three months. It was clear life didn’t have one distinct path. Iida and Uraraka were already married and had a baby while Bakugo and Midoriya were still dating.

Bakugo had no desire to speed things up, but alas, Midoriya was always an exception. They had a whole honeymoon to enjoy. Fortunately, Bakugo did speed up the process and proposed to Izuku at a group outing two months later.

The End!

Another brainfart but it's MHA related

IzuOcha is cute but this BkDk and TogaChako so be warned !!!

Basically, Royal!AU where Izuku and Ochako are betrothed to each other, but Izuku likes one of his knights (Katsuki) and Ochako has taken a liking to the bandit who has been appearing on wanted posters lately (Toga) and so they're just two doomed gays.

I wanna see someone write abt this, good or bad ending.

MEETING OCHACO URARAKA:

ochaco first meets you in a combat training session where you accidentally save her from a training bot with your quirk, leaving her flustered and impressed.

she instantly feels a spark of admiration and determination to get to know you better, often cheering you on during training.

her clumsy nature shines through when she accidentally bumps into you while trying to approach you, turning the encounter into an adorable moment.

you notice how she’s constantly floating a little bit off the ground when she gets nervous, and it becomes a cute signature move of hers around you.

during group projects, she finds excuses to pair up with you, her heart racing each time your hands brush against each other.

she often daydreams about the two of you being heroes together, her imagination running wild as she envisions your dynamic duo taking down villains.

in her head, she plans the perfect way to ask you out but always ends up tripping over her words when she gets the chance.

OCHACO CRUSHING ON YOU:

ochaco’s cheeks flush a bright pink whenever you smile at her, and she has to look away to hide her embarrassment.

she starts to incorporate little things she learns about you into her daily life, whether it's trying your favorite snacks or practicing your favorite fighting moves.

whenever you achieve something great, she can’t help but shout your name excitedly, her voice echoing through the training hall.

her friends notice her crush and tease her about it, prompting her to get flustered and deny it while secretly loving the attention.

ochaco has a habit of getting lost in thought about you, often daydreaming during classes, much to the confusion of her teachers.

she often imagines cute scenarios, like going to the festival together, and finds herself daydreaming about holding your hand while floating through the air.

she feels a mix of determination and nerves when she’s around you, constantly trying to balance her air-headedness with her desire to impress you.

DATING OCHACO URARAKA:

when you start dating, ochaco is over the moon, her joy making her a bit more air-headed than usual, often forgetting her own training sessions.

she loves surprising you with homemade lunches, using her quirk to make the food float in front of you, just to see your reaction.

the two of you develop a tradition of floating together at night, sharing stories and dreams while drifting above the rooftops of UA.

ochaco often gets a little shy when it comes to public displays of affection, preferring sweet gestures like holding hands or small kisses.

she loves using her quirk to make you float, insisting that it’s the most fun way to travel, and you can’t help but laugh at her excitement.

she adores going on missions with you, believing every moment spent fighting alongside you only strengthens your bond.

when she gets flustered during a date, she tends to ramble about random things, making you laugh and endearingly calling her “adorably awkward.”

her sweet and supportive nature shines through when you’re stressed, as she’s always there with a comforting hug and words of encouragement, reminding you that you can achieve anything together.

The difficulties of languages

Mina, looking in the fridge: Hey, does anyone know where all the cheese went? I need it for lunch.

Uraraka: Uh... no, I thought there was a ton of it in there last night.

Mina: That’s what I thought but there’s nothing here!

Uraraka: That doesn’t make any sense. I remember putting it away.

Mina: Let’s ask someone. Yo, Aoyama! Have you seen the cheese?

Aoyama, quickly shifting a box full of cheese so it’s behind his back: Non, pourquoi?

Mina: No thanks, I want grilled cheese right now. I’ll try your fancy pork some other time.

Aoyama:

Mina:

Aoyama: I said ‘pourquoi’.

Mina: And I said ‘no thanks’.

Uraraka: No, he’s asking you why-

Mina: Because I don’t want it.

Something I noticed about Toga and Uraraka

(Spoiler warning for My Hero Academia!!)

Something I Noticed About Toga And Uraraka

Himiko Toga and Ochako Uraraka obviously parallel one another quite a bit; for example, their appearance and color schemes. But there is a specific way in which they parallel each other that isn't as obvious: their quirk awakenings. Both characters' quirk awakenings happened in relation to the love they have for each other.

Something I Noticed About Toga And Uraraka

Himiko Toga's quirk awakening happened in season five, episode twenty one. This is the very first episode that we learn something from Toga's past. In this episode, Toga uses her quirk, Transform, to become Ochako Uraraka with the little bit of blood she had stolen from her. While she was transformed into her, she accidentally used Uraraka's quirk, Zero Gravity. Of course this was the first time she had ever used someone else's quirk, so she was confused for a while. She eventually realized that this was part of her own ever-growing power ("I want to become more... like those I love!") Episode: Revival Party.

Something I Noticed About Toga And Uraraka

Ochako Uraraka's quirk awakening happened in the episode "A Girl's Ego". Her quirk awakening was the realization that her Zero Gravity was able to spread like a chain. She was in the middle of telling Himiko Toga that she wanted to have their long-awaited "girl talk" when she made this discovery. ("Because I still want to talk about love with you, Himiko!") Episode: A Girl's Ego.

Something I Noticed About Toga And Uraraka

These kinds of parallels really show how Himiko and Ochako truly are two sides of the same coin, and that's why they can understand one another so entirely.
