TRANS DEKUSQUAD HEADCANONS

Izuku: Izuku realized he was trans when he was quite young, possibly in elementary school. He struggled with understanding and expressing his identity at first. Izuku came out to his mom, Inko, when he was around 10 years old. He was nervous but prepared a heartfelt explanation. Inko responded with unconditional love, saying, You’re my Izuku, no matter what. He initially kept it private, waiting until he was more comfortable before sharing it with others. Izuku struggles with dysphoria occasionally, particularly when he compares himself to others. He tends to overthink and self-critique, but he uses journaling as an outlet to process these feelings. He keeps a private journal dedicated to his own journey, where he writes affirmations and documents his progress, much like his hero analysis notebooks. Training helps him combat dysphoria, as physical strength and growth remind him of how far he’s come. All Might becomes a pivotal figure in Izuku’s life, offering not only hero mentorship but also subtle emotional support. Though they don’t talk directly about Izuku’s trans identity, All Might’s belief in him reinforces Izuku’s confidence. Ochaco Uraraka is one of the first classmates Izuku tells. She immediately supports him and cheers him on, helping him feel safe and accepted. Iida Tenya is unwavering in his support, offering practical help when Izuku needs it and standing up for him if anyone says anything hurtful. Bakugo Katsuki initially struggles to adjust but never questions Izuku’s identity. Over time, he learns to express his support in his own gruff way, like saying, You’re still a nerd, but I guess you’re my nerd.

Shoto: Shoto realizes he’s transgender around the time he starts learning to fully accept himself. His struggles with his family and his quirks make him more introspective, leading him to explore his gender identity during his high school years. Shoto starts binding his chest, feeling more comfortable and confident in his body. He may have had some moments of self-consciousness at first but grows to feel more at home in his own skin. Bakugo, despite his rough exterior, is surprisingly protective and fiercely loyal, standing up for Shoto if anyone disrespects him. While Shoto is generally stoic, he has moments of dysphoria that make him retreat inwardly. He may sometimes feel like he’s not measuring up to his own expectations or the ones placed on him by others. But he pushes forward, using his determination to create a path toward self-acceptance.

Lida: Tenya’s realization that he is transgender happens during his teenage years, possibly around the start of high school. Growing up in a family with a strict sense of duty and discipline, it takes time for Tenya to understand and accept his true gender identity. He spends a lot of time reflecting on how he feels, especially after coming to terms with his values and his role as both a hero and an individual. Tenya’s family, especially his mother and older brother Tensei, are initially confused but ultimately supportive when Tenya comes out to them. Tenya would start binding as a way to relieve dysphoria. He’s very cautious about it and might even be self-conscious at first, given his sense of discipline and perfectionism. Over time, though, he becomes more comfortable with it, especially as he sees how his friends react with nothing but acceptance. As a person who is incredibly disciplined and hardworking, Tenya feels pressure to live up to the standard.

Uraraka: Ochaco might realize she’s transgender during her time at U.A. The more she grows, the more she starts questioning her gender identity, eventually coming to terms with being a woman, which feels more authentic to her. While she had always been feminine and nurturing, there was a period of self-reflection where she realized her gender didn't fully align with how others saw her and how she felt inside. Ochaco’s family is very supportive when she comes out. Her parents, especially her mother, have always instilled confidence in her, encouraging her to pursue her dreams. The support might come as a surprise to her, as she expected some hesitancy from her traditional parents, but their love for her is unconditional. Her family works with her to make her transition as smooth as possible, helping her navigate the emotional and social challenges that come with it. Ochaco may experience some gender dysphoria during her transition, especially in relation to how her body changes. As someone who’s always been energetic and athletic, she might have some challenges in reconciling her physical self with her inner sense of identity. However, her determination to live authentically helps her push through these tough moments. She becomes more confident as she learns to embrace her body, quirks, and femininity.

Asui: Tsuyu might realize she’s transgender in her early teens, around the time she starts developing a deeper sense of who she is and what it means to be comfortable in her own body. Growing up, she always felt comfortable in her skin, but as she matures, she starts to understand that her identity as a woman doesn't completely match the gender others assumed her to be. Her self-discovery is gradual, and she comes to terms with it quietly, taking her time to understand and embrace it. Midoriya is one of the first to support her, offering a listening ear and comforting words. Uraraka, who shares Tsuyu’s values of empathy and caring, is particularly close to her and often checks in to make sure Tsuyu is doing okay emotionally. Even Bakugo, who may struggle with expressing emotions, respects her identity and makes sure to stand up for her if anyone disrespects her.

from childhood, he'd been estranged from his siblings, being raised to become the new #1 hero. he could barely remember his mother's touch, his siblings' punches. he could only remember the feeling of tatami under his palms when he fell during training. he'd never really had friends his age either, due to spending all day inside with endeavor.

that all changed when he went to ua.

suddenly, he was known as the "handsome guy from class 1-a". there were people, boys and girls alike, who would ask him out. there was even that third-year girl who found the courage to ask him, a first-year, on a date.

he turned them all down every time. it almost became a reflex for him.

until you.

for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to say no. you'd brought him a box of chocolates for valentine's day, and he found his heart melting.

to his surprise, he found himself enjoying your company.

to your surprise, he asked you to be his a month later.

and here you are.

a year later, he asks you out for valentine's day with a box of chocolates.

it's sweet, you think. shoto's taken you to the fair that just opened, one that you'd mentioned wanting to go to. he almost looks ethereal in the soft sunset glow, with his hair falling in front of his eyes and the tiny smile adorning his features.

"you're so pretty, shoto."

you don't mean to say it, but when you see a faint blush dusting his cheeks, you find that you're glad you did.

there's a flicker of surprise, then hesitation, like he doesn't know what to say.

and it's that moment when you realise that this is his first time. that this — what you're experiencing now — is the first time he's ever opened his arms to affection.

What are Merps?

Merps are little creature created by the human imagination they can resemble a person, loved one or an original character. Merps have clown noses which makes their mouth often not visible in most angles but it's there. Merps main purpose are to comfort and be friends, their little helpers and come in many sizes the smallest being the size of an full new eraser the biggest being the size of a normal teddy bear. Merps have the personality of the person they resemble. The Merp dress code is an clown costume with intricate details to the person they resemble, they don't have to wear it of course but most do as they come with it and it's not like there are Merp clothing stores I mean unless humans create clothes for them that would be sooo cute. In fact the Bakugo Merp has his own set of clothes sewed by Bakugo himself his parents being fashion designers and all. Merps can't speak, most know sign language and can read and write. Merps can only say one specific word that comes with the person they resemble and they can say Merp or Mep. Their cute little guys and I wouldn't mind seeing people draw their own merps! Have fun, live life and draw merps.

when you were laughing so hard you couldn't breathe

the common room was loud in that cozy, familiar way—someone had turned on a movie, kaminari was yelling about the plot inconsistencies, and a half-empty popcorn bowl had already made two laps around the room. shoto wasn't really paying attention to the screen. he was sitting off to the side, legs folded neatly under him, arms resting on the back of the couch, his eyes on you.

you were laughing.

not the polite kind you gave during class or the half-hearted chuckle that came after a bad pun—no, this was the full-body, head-thrown-back, tear-filled kind of laughter that made everyone around you start grinning too, even if they didn't know the joke.

and it was over something dumb. kaminari had tripped over mina's fuzzy slipper and face-planted into kirishima's protein shake. chaos followed. you were absolutely losing it.

shoto watched as you grabbed your stomach and gasped, "oh my god—that was the dumbest thing i've ever seen—" and wiped at your eyes like it hurt.

he felt something twist inside his chest. something warm and terrifying.

he should tell you. he should lean forward, tap your shoulder, and just say it—i like you. i think i like you more than i'm supposed to.

but then you turned to him, smile still wide, and said, "what? why are you looking at me like that?"

and he panicked.

shoto shook his head, lips twitching just slightly. "nothing. you look... happy."

you beamed at him.

and the moment passed.

2. when you fell asleep on his shoulder

it was movie night again. the common room was quieter this time. only you, him, and iida, who had already fallen asleep thirty minutes in, glasses askew and arms crossed like a disappointed father.

you had slowly started leaning on him as the night wore on, drifting closer each time you yawned. he didn't move. not when your head tilted, not when your hair brushed his collarbone, not even when your hand settled lightly over his.

eventually, you dozed off completely. he could feel the rise and fall of your breathing, soft and steady, against his side.

shoto stared straight ahead at the flickering screen, but his heart was slamming against his ribs like it was trying to break out.

"i love you," he whispered, so quiet he wasn't sure if he actually said it or just imagined the shape of the words in his mouth.

you shifted slightly, brow furrowed, murmuring something incoherent.

he froze. held his breath.

but you didn't wake up.

so he stayed still. and didn't say it again.

3. when you got your heart broken

it was raining. of course it was raining.

you showed up at his door soaked and shaking with the kind of smile that didn't reach your eyes. he opened it without a word and stepped aside to let you in. you toed off your shoes, jacket dripping on the mat, and mumbled, "sorry. i didn't know where else to go."

he handed you a towel. "you always know where to go."

you sat down on his bed, towel wrapped tightly around your shoulders, hair clinging to your face. he made tea. it was silent, but not the uncomfortable kind. it was the kind that let you breathe.

"he broke up with me," you said, finally. "said i was... 'too much.' whatever that means."

shoto sat beside you, mug in hand. "it means they're an idiot."

you laughed, but it sounded hollow.

he wanted to say more. he wanted to tell you that you were exactly enough. that your laugh made the world quieter in his head. that your presence was the one thing that didn't overwhelm him.

but instead, he said, "you deserve someone better."

you leaned your head against his shoulder.

and he didn't move.

4. when he thought you might be slipping away

training had been brutal. everyone was sore, tired, and half-dead by the time aizawa dismissed them. but you looked worse than tired. you looked distant.

you hadn't texted him back in two days. you missed lunch. you didn't sit with him during the bus ride back. and he noticed—every bit of silence, every missed message, every glance that used to last longer.

so he waited outside the locker room, arms crossed, heart pacing faster than his footsteps ever could.

"hey," you said, blinking at him in surprise. you looked like you wanted to smile, but didn't quite manage it. "you okay?"

"i miss you," he said, too blunt, too honest.

your eyes widened a little. you laughed it off, but there was a crack in it. "i'm right here, shoto."

he looked at you. really looked. your hoodie sleeves pulled over your hands. your eyes tired. your mouth tugging into something that wasn't quite a smile.

"yeah," he said. "you are."

but he didn't believe it. you were standing in front of him, but you felt like you were disappearing by the second.

he thought about reaching for your hand. about saying the words out loud, finally. but instead, he shoved his hands into his pockets and watched you walk away.

and he didn't say what he meant.

5. when you almost died

the explosions echoed down the street like thunder.

shoto didn't wait. he was already moving, already tearing toward the smoke, already deaf to the ringing in his ears and the shouts behind him. his vision blurred. his heartbeat drowned everything else out.

they said you were last seen inside the collapsed building.

he didn't think. he didn't breathe. he just ran.

the debris was everywhere. the smell of ash, blood, and panic choked the air. he called your name once. twice. again.

and then he saw your hand.

half-buried. covered in dust and cuts. but moving.

he dropped to his knees and started digging, calling your name again, voice shaking. his fire flared too hot, too close, and he forced himself to calm it—you couldn't get burned. not by him.

when he finally got to you, you were barely conscious, lips split, blood trickling down your temple.

"stay with me," he said, voice low and sharp with panic. "hey. look at me. you're okay. i've got you."

you mumbled his name. tried to smile.

he gathered you into his arms and held you like something sacred. he didn't let go until the medics forced him to.

that night he sat beside your hospital bed, fingers wrapped around yours, head bowed.

"i have to tell you," he whispered. "i have to. i almost didn't get to."

but your monitor beeped steadily, your face was still pale, and he couldn't bring himself to add anything more.

not yet.

so he waited.

it was late.

the dorms were quiet, shadows stretching across the hallway as he leaned against the railing outside. cold wind brushed against his cheek, but he didn't mind. he stood there, staring at nothing, waiting for the weight in his chest to go away. it didn't.

you found him like that, barefoot in socks, hoodie too big, voice small as you whispered, "you okay?"

he turned to look at you.

the wind caught your hair. the moonlight made your eyes look softer than usual. you looked tired, but more than that, you looked worried. for him.

he looked at you like he always did—with something like awe, like fear, like you were the sun and he wasn't sure if he deserved the warmth.

"i keep trying to tell you something," he said.

you stepped closer. close enough that your shoulder brushed his.

"then just say it," you whispered.

he hesitated. how many times had he rehearsed it? how many times had the words caught in his throat, choked back by fear or timing or circumstance?

you didn't move.

"shoto," you said softly, eyes never leaving his, "if you don't say it now, i think i might."

his breath hitched, and for the first time, he didn't flinch.

"i love you," he said.

it came out quieter than he meant it to. barely a whisper. but it felt louder than any explosion.

you smiled.

"finally."

then, you leaned in and kissed him, slow and sure, like you'd been waiting forever. and maybe you had.

he kissed you back like he was making up for all the times he didn't say it.

and finally, finally, he didn't have to wait anymore.

i’m imagining shoto todoroki and a very oblivious parter and it’s making me giggle.

Since both Shoto and the reader are unable to take a hint, both of them spent months as friends trying to ask each other out.

“I really like you.” you said one night as they walked home from training together holding hands.

“I like you too y/n. It’s nice to be able to train alongside a strong and capable friend like you. You’ll make a great pro.” He said. The compliment was nice, but you got a bit hung up on the word ‘friend’.

a couple weeks later Shoto approached you after class.

“Hi y/n. If you’re not busy friday night, would you like to go get dinner with me?”

“yeah sure! Oh wait can we go to that new ramen place, Jiro’s been dying to go. Oh, and Uraraka should come too because she doesn’t get to eat at restaurants very often and-“

“I kind of intended for this to be just the two of us.” Shoto said, cutting you off.

“Oh, uh okay.” you replied, finding it odd that he didn’t want to bring the others. Was he having drama with the rest of the friend group but you were left in the dark?

Nonetheless, you went to dinner with shoto, and chatted and joked, and it didn’t hit you until you were walking back to the dorms.

“Y/n.” Shoto spoke, causing you to slow down your pace.

“mhm?” you replied, giving him a small smile.

“May I kiss you?” he asked, taking a step closer to you.

“Wait, why would you want to do that?” You asked. You were definitely excited by the idea of kissing shoto, but confused as to why. Shoto only saw you as a friend.

“Because I just took you on a date and I like you.” Shoto stated simply. Then it clicked in your mind.

you leaned in to kiss him and it was short but sweet before Shoto broke the kiss to talk again.

“Would you like to be my girlfriend, y/n?” he asked, looking into your eyes, his expression so sincere.

“yes.” you tried to hide your excitement until you finally walked back to your dorm and facetimed all the girls to update them.

MEETING SHOTO TODOROKI:

he probably notices you studying in the common room, always meticulously organized. he respects the dedication.

if your quirk is related to warmth or fire, he's automatically wary but intrigued. he'll observe you carefully, trying to understand how you control it.

accidental encounters are his weakness. bumping into you in the hallway, dropping his soba… he'll apologize profusely, then retreat into himself.

he appreciates directness. if you're the one to initiate conversation, he'll be surprised but relieved. small talk isn't his forte, so dive into a topic he can actually discuss.

if you're good at reading people, you'll notice the subtle shift in his eyes when he acknowledges you. it shows he's paying attention, even if he doesn't say much.

he is most likely to have met you because you were partnered up in class together for hero training. he was surprised you weren't afraid.

he first thinks you're pretty when he sees you smile; he hasn't seen you smile, though, but he believes your smile is worth protecting.

he finds himself having to protect you in class a lot, but you're strong for yourself.

SHOTO CRUSHING ON YOU:

he doesn't understand the warm feeling in his chest when you are near him. he wonders if he’s sick so he asks recovery girl but she just gives him a knowing look and tells him to ‘rest’.

he wants to understand your quirk better, not just from a strategic point of view, but because he wants to understand you.

soba dates become a 'thing' because it's a comfortable, neutral ground. he's happy to share his favorite spot, and secretly pleased if you enjoy it too.

jf you tease him, he'll get flustered and look away, a slight blush creeping up his neck. it's adorable.

he starts using his fire side more in training to impress you, but he's also scared of hurting you.

training with you becomes something he looks forward to. he really enjoys analyzing your fighting style and strategizing with you.

he starts noticing the little things about you – the way you laugh, the way you concentrate, the little quirks that make you you.

he secretly asks fuyumi for advice on how to be a better friend, making her extremely happy.

if he sees others being rude or disrespectful to you, a flicker of cold fury passes over his face. he'll step in, but subtly.

he starts spacing out in class and ends up getting in trouble.

he asks you to show him your quirk again.

his resting face is now soft when he is around you, and it makes everyone notice.

DATING SHOTO TODOROKI:

dates are quiet, thoughtful, and often involve food of some kind. he likes taking you to hidden ramen shops or quiet parks.

physical affection is something he's still learning. he might start with gentle touches like holding your hand or putting an arm around you.

he worries constantly about his father. he will never be a man like him, and he is afraid you will think he will be like him.

he loves cuddling you. he's warm and cold at the same time, so you're always at the perfect temperature.

he'll open up about his family, but it takes time and trust. be patient and listen without judgment.

he wants to protect you and keep you safe, but he also respects your strength and independence.

he’ll bring you small gifts – a flower he found in the garden, a limited-edition soba flavor, or a book he thinks you'll enjoy.

he listens intently when you talk and remembers everything you say. he shows he cares by paying attention.

comforting him after a nightmare about his past might involve a hug and a promise to stay by his side.

he burns himself on purpose in order to feel something other than the burning desire he has for you.

he will do his best to be your partner despite his anxieties and worries. he will make sure to put you first.

Aight, I firmly believe everyone in this fandom has that one headcanon they will never let go of, and i wanna hear them.

I'll go first: At some point Endeavor passes the Endeavor agency onto Shoto, which Shoto promptly renames it to the "Todoroki Family Hero Agency" to honor his entire family instead of just his father.

Can't let the homies know I hide deep dark secrets (the head cannon that origin trio is all aroace)

I'm devastated at Epilogue Shoto's design. why is he so bland. That ain't Shoto Todoroki that's Shot a Turtle okay.
